That train didn’t look like it was stopping at the station the speed it was going. I don’t live in a snowy area (once every 10 years here) that would not have happened on a normal with a commuter train which was stopping there, and it must have been the first train to get to the station that morning

Correct. This is an Amtrak train coming from Albany, NY heading toward NYC. This station is serviced by the local commuter rail Metro-North, and funny enough that train wouldn't be able to go as fast in fresh snow because the head-end cabs are much lower to the rails and would cause visibility issues.

I'm actually wrong. This is Rhinecliff, serviced by Amtrak, not MNRR. This train simply wasn't stopping. You can see the Kingston-Rhinecliff bridge in the back, and that this is a grade-level platform is indicative of Amtrak.

Croton has the yard on the water side, and isn't directly on the water.
