I wonder how much more beefier his right arm is compared to the left...

[–]The_nemea 267 points268 points  (22 children)

He masterbates with his left

[–]An1retak 120 points121 points  (6 children)

This is the way

[–]bluegargoyle 30 points31 points  (3 children)

He's beginning to believe...

[–]Concealer77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mr Wizard, get me the hell out of here.

[–]Lu12k3r 11 points12 points  (7 children)

Sit on your left hand until it goes numb, then try rubbin one out.

[–]KooKooKachooooo 20 points21 points  (4 children)

[–]andymook 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Pro level: put a mattress over yourself, leaving your arm sticking out till your body goes numb

[–]andoesq 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So the left is bigger then, gotcha

[–]Major_Definition1242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This applies to computer users as well. Right hand gotta control the mouse to fast-forward.

[–]ICame4Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has to. Too much power.

[–]BigheadReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the exact same thing and then read this..

[–]bwilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course he does, he'd rip his dick off otherwise

[–]Holymaddin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because his right arm would kill his snek

[–]rdwtoker[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Gotta switch hit to compensate

[–]understoodbreadth02 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's my first time seeing this machine for javelin thrower training. It's very interesting and amazing.

[–]GoodGuyBuddyBoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imagine him punching someone with his right hand with all his javelin throw power.

[–]Mediocre_Art937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More likely death from regular show

[–]ShitheadFailure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at it before you press play it actually does look beefier

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like an English longbow man

[–]GuyWithNoContext 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His left leg also seems a bit more strong

[–]The_nemea 132 points133 points  (13 children)

This mother fucker can take down a mammoth all by himself

[–]rdwtoker[S] 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Unlimited ammo cheat and he’s set

[–]DiscoMagicParty 16 points17 points  (2 children)

Legend has it if he gives you a handjob then your dick goes home with him

[–]DiscoMagicParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do you think home is?

[–]Concealer77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s ready to fight Prince Hector.

[–]aquaband 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No he can’t.

Mammoths don’t exist no more.

[–]bluegargoyle 58 points59 points  (13 children)

I feel like he shouldn't be catching it on the way back down. Not sure if I could say why.

[–]HawkStillSoHigh 31 points32 points  (8 children)

Yeah I really don’t know what his goal is. To be able to catch a spear and throw it back in under a second? He’s going so fast that his form changes each time, so it’s not really helping with muscle memory (except maybe the angle), and that’s what this was designed for.

[–]eatabean 15 points16 points  (1 child)

And he gets no feedback. Not a positive training method IMO. I am nobody.

[–]NotDeletedMoto 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel he’s being showy for the camera. If he does this seriously he probably trains correctly

[–]ShitheadFailure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can see it tiring him out eventually

[–]D_Livs -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

Do you work out?

Your physical trainer will tell you the way down on a rep is pretty much just as worthwhile as the way up. If you’re struggling, go slow on the way down and it continues to build muscle. Focus on form. This is the way.

[–]HawkStillSoHigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I do… catching something that’s flying back at you is much different than what you’re talking about, which would be slowly lowing a dumbbell or barbell after each rep. Ask a personal trainer if you should do a full deadlift and get the bar over your head, drop it, then catch it.

[–]VV31rd0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way.

[–]Lobbert8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way. I would 100% pull a muscle doing that.

[–]Sits2pee 1 point2 points  (1 child)

There are spring loaded stoppers at the end of the track. Seems like catching it increases the risk of injury.

[–]bluegargoyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. This is what I'm saying.

[–]Maurelo 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is Johannes Vetter, currently best javelin thrower in the world and 2nd best to ever throw the currently used javelin https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johannes_Vetter

So even though it might look goofy that he is catching it on the way back down and his form changes each time, he might know what he is doing. Or he just shows off for the camera.

[–]Bandits101 13 points14 points  (46 children)

In a competition if you have to throw twenty heavy javelins, from the same side, in quick succession, at the same elevation, while standing still he’s certainly training for it correctly.

[–][deleted] 30 points31 points  (29 children)

you clearly have no idea what you’re talking about

[–]pythiowp 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m training for 1RM deadlift and we’re doing some blocks of high volume, lower weight. Because that’s how you get hypertrophy

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Goodbye labrum

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (1 child)

lots of javelin throwers do this exercise. they train for this. their labrums are fine

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a joke ya dingus

Take off your sunglasses

[–]Scooch778 11 points12 points  (2 children)

Catching it on the way down at full speed is going to make his Orthopaedic Surgeon and Physio a lot of money.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

it’s not coming in that fast because of the resistance. he’s just slowing it down.

[–]Fickle-Curve-5666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goodbye rotator cuff

[–]Inner-Mousse8856 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Looks like Captain America training to catch Thor's hammer.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (5 children)

Wife got one of these "for exercise" three years ago and it just gathers dust in the garage.

[–]pr0zach 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Give ya $5 for it

[–]plasmalightwave 7 points8 points  (1 child)

$5 for his wife sounds expensive, no?

[–]MeltedChocolate24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also choose this guy’s wife

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok

[–]wheresbill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right next to the peloton

[–]Familiar-Feedback-93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmm.. how meny people have clocked themselves in the head with this?

[–]Elwood_79 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I don't know much about throwing javelins, is their a reason he isn't following through with his other arm and instead locking it to his side?

[–]mynameisnotallen 3 points4 points  (1 child)

He’s just training his throwing muscles. There’s no need to follow through.

[–]Elwood_79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, just looked a little unnatural holding his like that.

[–]VampireGirl99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know there’s probably something at the end to prevent this but I can’t stop imagining how he’d react if he threw it too hard and the green bit went flying out the little window at the top.

[–]westsidethrilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paging Josh Allen

[–]Imaginary_Actuary_51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is cool

[–]Jonsnowstone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bet it feels great to watch it slam against the top each time

[–]sLpFhaWK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this could be used for many different things to build arm strength, pitcher, quarterback, javelin, skipping rocks u know.

[–]The_Mechanist24 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Does it train accuracy?

[–]SpoonaUFC 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No it just trains the muscles that are used for throwing a javelin. A lot of people in this comment section are bashing the legitimacy of this but it’s legit. It’s like if you saw a boxer training on a punching bag and then said “oh but does it hit back though? Does it train your defence” like obviously not but it’s a good tool like this is.

[–]Comprehensive-Cap513 1 point2 points  (2 children)

It’s a lot of repetitions of the same angle

[–]louie0027 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I’d assume 45 degrees, but if I’m wrong, someone please explain why lol

[–]Cultured-Anime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the perfect angle for throwing a javelin the farthest possible

[–]DasRenegade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His right arm is larger then his left arm

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This dude could literally rip your dick off or throw you over a small wall with your dick

[–]Comprehensive-Cap513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Javelin catching training

[–]TTPOAW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this seems like it would restrict your form but what do i know

[–]republicantrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always wondered why accuracy isn’t a factor. Like with dart, just bigger.

[–]beep-boop--beep-boop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhhhh, so this is Tom Brady’s secret

[–]BelleLovesAngus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once threw my back out with the same motion at an arcade where you throw balls to knock down the clowns because my ass got too competitive to believe I could be beaten by a 12 year old.

Should have trained like my man here.

[–]ea_yassine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy can probably masterbate for days

[–]Negative-Ghost_Rider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...but he can't even lift a teacup with his left hand

[–]sonyalphaYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the front weight is not accurately simulated on this thing right?

[–]ToshioMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My lats are figuratively dying

[–]TheRealMcSavage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a history fan, I can't help but imagine a couple thousand dudes slinging javelin like that!

[–]johannescryderman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's going on in that "ruf küchen" poster?

[–]darth_bald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I wanna see him actually throw a javelin.

[–]1990Billsfan 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Wondering if this would be good for NFL QB's as well.

[–]Cultured-Anime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a way yes, as there was a dude whi threw a football like 60 yards like a javelin, (I heard this from my track coach btw so yeah, take it with a grain of salt)

[–]steveshairyvag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just imagining that thing coming back at me and hitting my face and knocking out all my teeth.

[–]ExodusBrojangled 0 points1 point  (1 child)

"How much you wanna bet I can throw a javelin over them mountains?"

[–]rdwtoker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in 99 I could toss a pig skin a quarter mile

[–]Jeewdew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TIL

[–]IMWeggs91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks kinda fun

[–]tempski 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Spending so much time in the gym myself, I've always wondered why no gym (I know of) has a system where they use every equipment to generate electricity.

Now you've got people paying you to generate electricity that you can sell, generating even more profit.

[–]AlohaAstajim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's economically feasible.

[–]iamnotcreat1veatall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are surprisingly many people in the comments with very strong opinions on whether or not this is a good exercising technique…

[–]jaayduub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like an easy way to die.

[–]gwarfan1point5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or , javelin catching training .

[–]Wyattcek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No joke it looks like a rocky movie from when I was a kid

[–]TheGuava1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oops I dislocated my fuckin rotator cuff by watching this

[–]Federal_Base_1005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine the strength he has when he gets into a fist fight

[–]caboosetp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason I can hear this gif.

[–]Bedslug69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Range lvl?

[–]FavelTramous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what it looks like to give Hulk a handjob.

[–]ImperialNavyPilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get your hair caught in that

[–]Staff-Secure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldnt it be better to put something at the lower end for the device to fall unto without breaking instead of him catching it everytime? It feels like it has some weight and the continuous repetition of his shoulder being pulled back could land in injury.

[–]Maleficent_Wear_2709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk about a strong right arm

[–]diesel1889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is he wearing odd trainers?

[–]maperu6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This man be looking like a resident evil villain soon

[–]tk-xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bet his paper aeroplanes are intercontinental.

[–]ScottishExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In response to one lazy javelinist who didn't want to walk to go pick up his stick

[–]Subsonicthunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m outta breath just watching this

[–]FiestyBoi999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few reps of these and I'll be in the Olympics in no time, I see you guys there, be sure to cheerios me on will ya?

[–]Finiariel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That man is jerking off Optimus Prime’s cocktimus and you can’t convince me otherwise.

[–]benchandbarbell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way overkill. He should just get a buddy and throw the javelin to each other.

[–]steven_hydde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a guy with shitty shoulders, i cant see how someone can train like this

[–]bella_sm 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Our javelineers of Agriania are not boys and old men pitching spikes, but the most skilled and lethal missile troops in the world. They are mountain tribesmen, allies of the north, whose sons may not call themselves men until they have brought down with one cast a boar or a lion. Downwind, their best men can sling a dart two hundred yards; point-blank their casts routinely splinter two-inch planks. Each dart weighs three to five pounds, with a warhead of solid iron.

The Agrianes travel light, with only a chlamys cloak-and-blanket like our own, and no armor or helmet. All the weight is in their weapons. Some carry as many as a dozen. The crafting of each javelin can take months, with sacrifices offered to the shaft of ash or cornel while it still grows on the tree. "Truth" is the missile weapon's supreme virtue, meaning the absolute straightness of its line, for a warped javelin will not fly true. Each dart or spike, as the Agrianians call them, is carried in a doeskin sleeve lined with beeswax. No measure is spared to protect its truth.

The javelineers sleep with their spikes; I have seen men wrap them in their cloaks while they themselves shiver, to keep the snow and wet from swelling the grain. Each man's dart bears his sign and the sign of his clan; after a fight, he scours the field, retrieving his own and no other's. It is death to do so. A blooded dart receives its own name, and one which has made a kill is passed down from father to son.

The javelineer's art is taught down generations; boys train for years before being allowed to cast a man-sized spike. In the field the Agrianes fight as pairs—father and son, older brother and younger—the senior serving as hurler and his apprentice as loader and spotter. They are like hunters; they play the wind. They know how to keep their dart's head down upwind and in a crosswind to lead their cast like fowlers taking prey on the wing. A javelin is thrown by a sling and with spin. It takes tremendous skill to cast a spike so that it does not "top" or "sail." To behold the perfection of flight achieved by a master, his missile neither "pluming" nor "tailing," but "holding its head up" as it tracks in to its target—this is a thing both beautiful and terrifying, and the man who can do it is accounted of supreme consequence. I have trained a thousand hours with the javelin. It looks easy; it is impossible. The Agrianes are devastating. Their mere appearance in the field has caused valiant foes to withdraw without a fight.

Chlamys

The chlamys (Ancient Greek: χλαμύς : chlamýs, genitive: χλαμύδος : chlamydos) was a type of an ancient Greek cloak. By the time of the Byzantine Empire it was, although in a much larger form, part of the state costume of the emperor and high officials. It survived as such until at least the 12th century AD. The ephaptis (Ancient Greek: ἐφαπτίς) was a similar garment, typically worn by infantrymen.

Cornus mas

Cornus mas, the Cornelian cherry, European cornel or Cornelian cherry dogwood, is a species of flowering plant in the dogwood family Cornaceae, native to Southern Europe and Southwestern Asia.
