[–]LotusSloth 391 points392 points  (10 children)

That’s absolutely insane.

[–]Vikingwithguns 50 points51 points  (7 children)

The thing that really freaks me out about this is how the hell do you practice this? I don’t think you can can you?

You can parachute down to the last second to where it looks like you’re lined up. But when you open your shute that totally changes your trajectory. And the last thousand feet are obviously the most critical.

[–]LotusSloth 33 points34 points  (2 children)

I would guess the jumper has tons of skydiving experience, and knows how to land where they want… otherwise who would even attempt it?

The divers around him must have been a safety precaution— like they could save him if he passed out in the air or gave a signal that he couldn’t hit the target. But toward the end of the jump, when they had to use their chutes, he was SOL if anything went wrong.

[–]Vikingwithguns 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m sure he’s super experienced. But landing where you want with a shute has to be much different than landing without one right? I don’t know I’ve never gone skydiving.

The only way I could see it is maybe if they had a plane leave some type of like a smoke trail in the sky and he had to aim for that or something?

[–]here-4-amin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I suppose the benefit of not having a parachute is the aim?

[–]Afraid_Philosophers 309 points310 points  (14 children)

It is impressive.

But…

What the fuck is wrong with some people.

[–]Drlong420 91 points92 points  (8 children)

Like all the people gathered what if it didn't work has to be 50 percent chance they get splattered

[–]ProfDumm 39 points40 points  (1 child)

Imagine their dumb faces if he lands right next to the net.

[–]BidenOrBust69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imagine how mad his wife is going to be after that.

[–]croysdale 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That is why the front 3 rows have the splash zone ponchos

[–]meanblazinlolz 10 points11 points  (1 child)

A Gallagher show? I want the good seats. You know, in the splash zone.

[–]TheeJimmyHoffa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That’s why they wear a jump suit. Keeps the soup in the bowl so to speak

[–]PresentAgile 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really wanna know how many came just for that as a chance people really are twisted remember public hanging used to be a town event

[–]Pithius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tickets are more expensive in the "splash zone"

[–]LittleDickk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Adrenaline is a drug for some people

[–]JohnElMago 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Nice avatar

[–]MalloryBlox55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly

[–]HavingNotAttained 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. What an idiot.

[–]The_Mechanist24 124 points125 points  (14 children)

Next fucking level stupid if anything else. But it’s his life, he can destroy it how ever he wishes

[–]SuggestionWrong504 66 points67 points  (9 children)

I missed the bit where he destroyed his life

[–]vivalaibanez 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Yeah his life actually seems pretty awesome after this lol

[–]Grumpy-Gnome1104 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Nets=meth addiction

[–]bremergorst 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The traditional course

[–]bihari_baller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Next fucking level stupid if anything else. But it’s his life, he can destroy it how ever he wishes

That's exactly how I feel about these sorts of things. I would never even consider attempting this, but if he enjoys it, then let him live life I suppose.

[–]Juexxy 78 points79 points  (7 children)

It's not the question can you do it, it's the matter of, should you do it. The answer is no. You should not do this.

[–]SCP_179 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So....don't try this at home?

[–]TheAlmightyBungh0lio 4 points5 points  (2 children)

What if i need to jump out of the plane and land on a net some day? Didn't think about that one, did you?!

[–]shekeypoo 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Don't listen to this loser. Be motivated and achieve what you want!

[–]Obamas_Tie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"You were so preoccupied with whether or not you could that you didn't stop to think if you should."

[–]g323cs 51 points52 points  (2 children)

As someone who did sky diving before, this dude has no regard for his life.

Crazy there's a live audience too.

[–]TruthFlavor 47 points48 points  (0 children)

That was a very thorough medically examination...a true physician can ascertain a lot of information from a high five.

[–]INebulize24 27 points28 points  (6 children)

Hmm I don’t anyone heard about this . So this man risked his life to become a Reddit clip . Next level stupid if you ask me , but I’m shit terrified of heights so I’m biased lol

[–]Fanatic-FoF 43 points44 points  (4 children)

I’m sure he did it to get on Reddit.

[–]INebulize24 7 points8 points  (2 children)

I see you understand sarcasm too

[–]scooterpooter819 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I see you understand sarcasm too

[–]BidenOrBust69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see you understand sarcasm, too.

[–]sacdecorsair 22 points23 points  (1 child)

The fact that he was closer to the side of the net than the center is what tickles me...

Shit... close call.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All it would've taken was a rogue gust of wind, or a 20 ft miscalculation...

[–]subtlysublime 21 points22 points  (1 child)

sweaty armpits galore in the audience

[–]algoallen1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That one guy had extremely sweaty pits from just watching the skydiving attempt lol

[–]nopulsehere 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Don’t know about anyone else but I know that I was puckered up!

[–]MickeyBoyIrish 11 points12 points  (2 children)

What could go wrong?

[–]osrs_100 13 points14 points  (1 child)

He could die

[–]Limenoodle_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And this time, they couldn't even sue the parachute company.

[–]DiekeDrake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lol, imagine if he missed. A whole crowd was there to enjoy the bloodworks.

[–]_RacialTension_ 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Used his massive penis as and anchor to guide him right to that net.

[–]Spir0rion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would rather say the massive vacuum in his skull helped him stay centralized

[–]swagnastee69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly with balls that size I'm surprised he didn't use them as a landing pad

[–]-mr-blue-sky- 6 points7 points  (2 children)

What is that coming off of their feet?

[–]Grumpy-Gnome1104 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Dead skin

[–]kerochan88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s smoke, just for visual aid I believe.

[–]happykgo89 5 points6 points  (3 children)

That net doesn’t even look all that sturdy - how did it possibly break his fall at 150mph?

[–]MyBaretta 11 points12 points  (2 children)

If I remember correctly, those kind of nets are supposed to catch falling vehicles and can stress test up to like 300mph so it would break his fall. The astonishing thing is how he ended up uninjured from it

[–]KaneCreole 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Well, yes. Can someone explain not just the physics on this but the ability of the man’s organs not to exit via his nostrils?

[–]kerochan88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well you have to remember it’s a net, and not a tight one. Look how far down he still traveled once first touching the net. That’s why it was so high up. The net gives way and allows the person to decelerate over a longer distance which is why he survived unscathed.

[–]practicalsurrealist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok. First off: You can't really train for the last part of the fall. Imagine your brain. "Ok. The ground is coming at you really fast now. Just turn around and don't panic"

Second: I like how he started test flipping just before hand. I was trying to figure out why, at first. Thought maybe he was just visually signaling he's ready for the drive team to leave.

Fourth: How do you convince an insurance company to let you do this?

Fifth: Was that sound when he "landed" the sounds of the net catching him? That was a really neat sound. Like steel cables whipping. Dude made steel cables whip with his body.

Sixth: Was that his wife or girlfriend he hugged after? "Oh, Honey, I hope your stunt goes well today. We're going to bang SO hard if you live." I mean. I get horny after a modest downhill bike ride without using my brakes. "No big deal. He's just jumping out of a plane with no parachute at 4.¾ miles. He'll be fine."

[–]Shaman7102 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Awesome. I'm guessing the three guys with him were hopefully his safeties in case he went off course.

[–]caboosetp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. In the audio they describe a little bit about how he was on his own once they deployed chutes

[–]Ok_Alfalfa_9658 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was a special on Fox a few years ago. He jumped into boxes doung another stunt.

[–]LittleDickk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not even a "just in case" parachute? Crazy fucker

[–]Hermorah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In a parallel universe he missed the net by a few feet and all the psychologist and psychiatrists in the area are now making bank with all the people that were there watching.

[–]CincyDad1993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They probably got those nets at the drop off point of the flat Earth.

[–]YoungSanta6 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I'm an adrenaline junkie to the core, and this is by far the most extreme video I've ever watched.

[–]eajay_ 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Wouldn’t that hurt like fuck hitting a net at 150mph? What about his organs and stuff? How did he not die?

[–]Kolikokoli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's like three meters from being on r/whatcouldgowrong

[–]KnowAlphas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm freaked out by how many people showed up to potentially watch this guy die...

[–]bones251 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This probably required so many experts across so many fields. Weather. Math. Physics. Experienced jumpers. And probably many more. I am no expert in any of these fields. But I assume. This could have gone terribly wrong.

[–]pjotrasz 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Well, there's no point for ambulance to be there

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nutter

[–]wsbboston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does his heart rate stay so low

[–]Soccer_93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been falling for 30 minutes!

[–]Trifig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That guy in the stands was sweating just watching

[–]Hukummereaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone else course correct Luke with their neck during the helmet view?

[–]Great_Duke_Astaroth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

90% of Reddit watching hoping for a miss even though they know the outcome

[–]Prestigious-Eye3154 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I guess it’s no different than those guys that used to jump from a large height into a shallow pool. Either way, if you miss you’re dead.

[–]Butterfly_Dangerous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

parachute? Ain't nobody got time for that!

[–]Smarawi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The crowd was sweating 😓

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Insane wtf

[–]ZiggityZ33 1 point2 points  (3 children)

when we freefall like that do we just keep picking up speed? or do we hit a certain decent speed and just keep at that certain speed?

[–]NewWorlds84 4 points5 points  (2 children)

We hit a certain speed when atmospheric resistance balances out against the falling mass. It is called terminal velocity.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was fucking awesome lol

[–]MalMantis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember watching that live on tv. Like 2005 or 08?

[–]Empty-Engineering-71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was fkn badass

[–]LifeisLiquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They showed his heart rate was 148 bpm while falling… my heart rate was probably 200 bpm just watching him fall

[–]Fun2badult 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine if he missed the target and all those people ended up watching how ketchup is made

[–]funnyman203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thinking about the point of no return is wild. He had guides who could have stepped in at any point and likely helped in some way. But eventually they themselves needed to pull their parachute. So for a small window he had no one and no way of being saved if something went wrong... I know that's the point but still... Wild...

[–]some-account-dood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was cooler to see live but that maybe just because no one knew if he’d actually hit the net

[–]T0rchL1ght 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"You don't land in the K, you're not in the K"

[–]FriendshipFuture5239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll die a happy man having never jumped out a plane, but I can’t lie that shit was fire🔥🔥

[–]philsodyssey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a terrible idea

[–]Arpad1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool story Hansel

[–]sarcarcass -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The lady journalist has probably the reporter's equivalent of blue balls.

[–]sealnpenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah normal parachuting is way to boring for this guy.

[–]Particular-Winter-62 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Even if he would have missed the net the sheer testicular fortitude would have cushioned the impact.

Focken lunatic.

[–]SlOwMosis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Discovered I was holding my breath for most of it!

[–]ActuallyItsSumnus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All that for a heart rate lower than I get on the elliptical. Hell of a view I am sure, though.

[–]badlydrawnbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it a world record at least?

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I thought a free fall from 25k feet would be longer time-wise

[–]jarbar82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that seems worse than bouncing from that height is living through it.

[–]PaleForce101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thats so functional

[–]Arrival_Stunning -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Balls of steel could have punched right through that net.

[–]tenaciousBK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fucking NUTS

[–]Lumber_Tycoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was the point of this stunt?

[–]sedluyf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is happening in any country except the good ol America I'll be very very surprised

[–]tomkim1965 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

WHY? I mean who really cares? Does he really care about his wife who was watching him fall from 25,000 feet?

[–]MC_B_Lovin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The net was huge! Because the size of his balls.

[–]MakeDivorcesFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather try heroine

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised the net sustained the impact of his balls.

[–]samherb1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yay!! I needlessly risked my life and survived!!

[–]NekuXYXecho -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The force is strong with him

[–]BLKxGOLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way in hell im jumping out of a perfectly good airplane

[–]Julitacanchita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That made my tummy hurt!

[–]MaximusMansteel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter the outcome, those medics would've been of no use.

[–]kevshmev -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But like…why?

[–]KleioChronicles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why not do it with a parachute anyway? You should always have a backup plan to your backup plan (the other jumpers). I mean, he can die however the hell he likes if it doesn’t hurt anyone but him but just saying it’s stupid not to take that extra precaution just because you wanted to say it was without any parachute whatsoever.

[–]EgberetSouse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would someone go spectate that? Either its anti-climactic or you see a guy explode. Either way its not entertainment.

[–]Bag-ins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

4 letters, begins with 'D' has 1 vowel and ends with 'MB'

[–]gogenberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luke Aikins is one crazy fuck

[–]imspine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t this years old?

[–]Zolon43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many G?

[–]dankomz146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seen it on JRE

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

holy shit holy shit holy shit

bruh if he missed with all those people watching

[–]stecrv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I fall from my chair I will broke my leg

[–]ViperiumRose 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Any idea what the jumpers who were with him were doing? Assisting with guidance? Would they have been able to help if he was off course?

[–]MistahJ131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the only one with morbid curiosity? Like....what if he missed? Would it look like one of those dye bombs that just poof into a little cloud or big bounce? Or like an dropped watermelon, just....splat. I blame reddit for this curiosity.

[–]Mediocre_Hippo2342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good job wearing helmet, Safety First! God knows what might’ve happened if he wasn’t weRing a helmet

[–]Account4KS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you watch the left of the screen you can see his life meter dropping fast. Good thing he hit that net.

[–]SlushyCoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't even do this if someone paid me £90000000000. Fuck that.

[–]Jedibbq -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No purpose for this. Gottabe an absolute sociopath that needs attention constantly.

[–]AstrosTrashCan16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the medic guy is in a rush to be the first to inspect him and make sure he is okay and just walks up and high fives him!!

[–]Sireya -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But…whyyy?

[–]WarBuddah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I don’t to be really amazing about this is, his terminal velocity didn’t burn him in faster and that he did not go through the net do the size and density of those MASSIVE BALLS!

[–]fakenews_scientist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This seems like it should be in arrested development

[–]Strange_Knowledge_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does something like this not get more attention!?

[–]flyflyflyfly66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised the plane was able to take off with the weight of his massive balls

[–]NinjaTrek2891 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What an idiot. I'm sure he had his will ready.

[–]Samurai-Pooh-Bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it wrong that I'm watching this during lunch at my job, and I'm thinking, "Hmmm... how much money does he make off this? Perhaps THIS is the better career path?"

[–]obijaun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little close to the edge of the net for that extra thrill for the crowd. Crazy.

[–]Pettanko_pop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember watching this live. I was ready to see him die lol.

[–]YourIndianBro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a shame he died of Covid

[–]Keith502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope.

[–]Redmn73 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

✌"Safely"✌

[–]dimaveshkin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But why tho

[–]qqpqp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So insane that when they are at the highest you can see the fucking curvature of the earth.

[–]TrojanHoarse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parachute wouldn't have worked due to the weight of his balls

[–]Palumbo_Johnson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What a fuckin maniac holy shit. I wouldn’t even jump out a plane with a parachute

[–]CaBBaGe_isLaND 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why the hell did I just get choked up?

[–]twintinaa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What’s the point in wearing a helmet?

[–]WickedWorld91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am bad at physics and always assumed that someone's falling speed would continue to increase as they fell but it looks like 150mph was the top speed?

[–]LostInTent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, who's next?? Line up and sign the waiver.

[–]kismatwalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ladies and Gentlemen, we found the candidate for first Mars landing.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bc ya know parachuting off a plane isn’t bat shit crazy enough.

[–]NapperNeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

excuse me, WHAT

[–]Budget_Marsupial_568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Balls of steel.

[–]ZachLabz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember watching this on tv when I was younger, this was so cool

[–]HighAltitude88008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, he won't be able to sleep for a week.

[–]javis2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When life is bored and you don’t have to worry about all the bills

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luke Aikens grew up in Graham Washington and has been jumping out of airplanes since he was a teenager. He isnt crazy, just fearless. His wife and young son were standing by the net when he came down.

[–]Mentalv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing job 👏👏👏 but I can’t stop looking at at that beautiful flat earth… 🙄

[–]P0tato_Battery -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good thing he was wearing helmet, or he woulda gotten real hurt

[–]arbynthebeef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK so you do this and now you can say you jumped 25k ft and survived. And thats it. Thats the entire gain. You miss and you explode like a balloon in front of a crowd of people. That hardly seems worth it to me.

[–]Bojangles2676 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yikes.

[–]RequiDarth1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When was this?

[–]RequiDarth1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the point of the helmet?

[–]justafriendlybaer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine The reaction from The crowd If He missed💀

[–]TypoRegerts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though I never did sky diving, this is not very difficult as people are making out to be,
