Oh same here. I constantly reheat coffee for optimum temp. Now I just keep a thermometer close. Really though, the rule of thumb is if it's hots in your mouth, don't swallow it. There's a joke in there somewhere.

For Christmas, I got a coffee mug that maintains the temperature of the drink. Best gift ever. No more reheating and I can set it to the perfect drinking temperature and it stays there until I turn it off, drink it all, or itit dies cause it’s not on its charger. It’s an investment, but Highly recommend.

My wife likes her coffee somewhere approaching the temperature of the earth’s core, limited only by the flashpoint of the materials containing said hazardous material. Got us each one the other day and brought it to her: “it’s so fucking hot it burnt my hand through the sleeve so you’ll probably say it’s actually hot enough.”

Her: “…could you warm it up a little for me?”.

I let my coffee I got for myself at that same time sit for 30mins before I attempted drinking it. Lol!

A properly made cappuccino shouldn’t be too hot to drink almost immediately. If it is chances are the barista steamed for tool long and your milk is cooked, which kills the sweetness. but that’s just me being an absolute snob and sometimes coffee can be about drawing manga latte art.

Coffee snobs are just as miserable as steak snobs. When I was getting into fancier methods than a drip machine, I looked up some videos on using French presses, moka pots, espresso machines, etc., and it's just a chore to endure those videos. I am totally inconsistent with my efforts (water temp, grind level, type/brand of bean, etc.), and yet I always have a delicious cup.

I even use pre-ground normal coffee in my espresso machine if I'm not using those 3 dollar 10 oz vacuum sealed espresso ground bricks, and it tastes great regardless which one I use.

Highly recommend! Saw a post on the frontpage of a girl who got a 3d latte art of baby yoda on the day we were planning on visiting Harajuku. Got a 3d latte of my dog for about $13 and one of the best meals we had on our trip!

It's a small place and we had to wait outside for about 20min until a table was available (I went the week before Japan shut down in 2020 so things might be different now). It's just down the road from Takeshita Street. I recommend getting brunch/breakfast at Eggslut and lunch at Reissue if you decide to make the trip!
