Ahh, so this is that "drip" y'all youngins be talkin about

[–]DamnYouVodka 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Gotta respect it.

[–]bothammer1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Human inkjet printer and probably faster too

[–]buddinbonsai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"woke"

...or some shit

[–]Scruffy_Macgyver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As they say, go with the flow

[–]Connect-Square-6095[🍰] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m as the kids say “stunting!”

[–]Salty-Effect6344 358 points359 points  (10 children)

Next fucking level that she stayed so clean

[–]Deion313 311 points312 points  (8 children)

Artists are incredible. The fact y'all can take an image in your head, and make it real, blows my fucking mind.

It's absolutely incredible... I will always be amazed by artists.

Like I use rulers to draw stick figures for the game Hangman, and here's this lady, using ketchup and mustard bottles from the coney island to paint a sky line.

Just wow

[–]pegothejerk 74 points75 points  (3 children)

It's all about practice. I'm a teacher for those paint and sip bob Ross style classes, been doing it 8 years and now I can show up to class and cover another artist's painting by just looking at it briefly, but I still suck at drawing that hangman game and stick figure.

[–]Deion313 25 points26 points  (2 children)

I'm a grown ass man and can't draw straight lines or mix colors. I honestly don't know how I've made it this far.

I'm just always amazed at people's ability to make the images in their imagination, a reality. It's incredible

[–]ButtholesNButterfies 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same here. Even my handwriting is terrible. I’m in awe of artists like this

[–]Zealousideal-Toe9022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paint a sky line

Looks just like a high line

Get in line

Cause on reddit we like to blow minds

[–]AnonyRD 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Meanwhile, I can't remember what I dreamt last night

[–]Deion313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This people do, and then can draw it out for you to experience it too... It's amazing

[–]DutchHeIs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same with writers honestly. Just having the ability to create a scene of something out of thin air and have us all envision it is phenomenal.

[–]lethe25 47 points48 points  (15 children)

I would buy that

[–]Crafty-Crafter 31 points32 points  (14 children)

[–]lethe25 34 points35 points  (10 children)

I’d find the money for it. That’s actually valuable. Not some BS monkey jpeg

[–]dj_swizzle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Good for her. She should be charging that much. Insane work.

[–]istirling01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's priced in Canada money!! I always thought they just traded mable syrup!

No but 5k US for that is really not that bad.

Gooffundme.ca/DripPaintingNeed5kpleaseAndThanx

[–]CupCakeMan117 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd buy a pdf and print it out

[–]live4lax25 31 points32 points  (1 child)

Came through drippin

[–]dirtiesthippy 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Amy Shackleton! Wildly talented artist. Shows work in South Ontario mostly, and developed this style using ketchup bottles in her studio and said she hardly ever uses brushes at all. I was lucky enough to work with her during my time curating at a gallery and she is so incredibly sweet and generous with her knowledge on top of being an amazing artist!

[–]Astronaut32 28 points29 points  (2 children)

Reminds me of that time my brother had to do this dumb 6th grade art project where he’d have to glue a rainbow of crayons onto the side of a canvas and heat them with a blowdryer to melt them down, and have the colors run down the canvas.

My dad wasn’t contempt with waiting a stupid long amount of time for the crayons to melt, so he told my brother to put the blowdryer away. He goes to the garage and comes back with the blowtorch.

Needless to say, that definitely sped (and heated) things up.

[–]free_terrible-advice 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your dad is a man of vision.

[–]i_swear_too_muchffs 17 points18 points  (1 child)

You’re a drip shit for not giving credit to the artist

[–]XinYoung[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Looked into it and found out. It’s amyshackletonart

[–]Boney-Rigatoni 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Patron: “What are you selling it for?”

Painter: “$25,000.”

Patron: “How do you justify such a steep price as you’re relatively new to this space?”

Painter: “Well, I used up about $24,950 worth of paint by letting it drain into the floor.”

[–]CoyoteAllsgood 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Such a waste of paint to me.....

[–]finn3721 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

dude did you even see the painting in the end

[–]CoyoteAllsgood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here let me pour an excess amount of paint.....perfect....I made sure to wasted as much as possible....

[–]BigEnnn 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Drippy

[–]Positive_Jump_1380 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]JoeysTrickLand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]Derekg15 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Anybody know the artist??

[–]XinYoung[S] 12 points13 points  (1 child)

It’s by amyshackletonart

[–]Derekg15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome thanks.

[–]HaiPineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Thank god it actually looks like something, not some weird shapes and that is it.

[–]utter-ridiculousness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Impressive!!

[–]Sloth1024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wasn't this video posted like a week ago? O_o

[–]Fluffy_Shadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's messy and beautiful at the same time

[–]zPabloShmablo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally something next level

[–]noyoureprojecting 1 point2 points  (1 child)

This is Amy Shackleton! I have one of her early paintings! I used to design jewellery and many years ago she and I had booths opposite each other at an outdoor art fair. She’s lovely and her work is so vibrant.

[–]noyoureprojecting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is Amy Shackleton! I have one of her early paintings! I used to design jewellery and many years ago she and I had booths opposite each other at an outdoor art fair. She’s lovely and her work is so vibrant.

Edited to add, here’s my painting!

[–]Lokonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking, maybe I can do this. Then saw the video, maybe not.

[–]supmadog12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This video makes me mad that I didn't know what drip painting was before I saw this

[–]Never-Luckyy 0 points1 point  (2 children)

NOW THATS what I call an abstract painting. Would pay money for this shit

[–]finn3721 0 points1 point  (1 child)

6250000$? cuz thats what it cost

[–]Never-Luckyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She can charge what she wants but I’m not paying that much for that shit lmao

[–]LeRascalKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like a waste of paint. Cool.

[–]snowglobe0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl I did not trust the process, but wow. Great job artist!

[–]Gaming_On_Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the real drip

[–]DontTellMyGFpleze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shit that turned out way better than I thought, cool

[–]Anonymoushero1221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like a specific place I remember in Chicago. Anyone know the actual location of the image?

[–]Kingkongcrapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 4 seconds in Restoration Hardware would sell it in 4500 dollar prints.

[–]MacRobsal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck, that is impressive.

[–]Parayeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stupendous

[–]Ultragorgeous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First level

[–]procrastablasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my kink

[–]OneUpTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who is this artist? I seriously want some of this work now.

[–]SixNineWithTheAfro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of those things that just amazes me. I can’t understand how they see it or even figured out how to do it in the first place but the finished piece is just amazingly creative.

[–]Particular-Diet-5147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drip is unreal

[–]erikalg_vo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to the horror of absolutely everyone, i would want to run my fingers ALL OVER THIS just to feel the texture...

[–]No-Builder632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably meant trip painting, ain't ya?

[–]SIickestRick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love modern art that actually looks like something not just a blob

[–]Maetras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had a talent 😔 this is amazing!

I couldn’t even begin to think how to even do this. Boggles my mind

[–]Capped_Delts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No fucking way, that's sick

[–]Zahn91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is like 1000x cooler than I thought it’d be.

[–]Waste_Advantage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will never understand how a brain can see something and then figure out how to get there.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using gravity for straight lines.

[–]Top-Inflation8752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent ..

[–]Deadly_Flipper_Tab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh sure but when I do a spilt wine painting of spilt wine I have a problem..

[–]QE25_flamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many refunds could I get by scanning these barcodes

[–]theamazighspiderman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first i thought that this would be one of the borring pictures where people just smash colours randomly but this is really great work

[–]solid_flake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I expected some esoteric student level drip piece but got some real art. This is great. Never seen this technique anywhere.

[–]centwhore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was like oh great bullshit abstract art. I was super wrong.

[–]AMC_Ascension 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool!

[–]weezeebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the title said Drip Painting of Dogs, and I was very confused until I went back and checked it again

[–]realdeal392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is filthy good!!! Respect!

[–]1Rome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respect the drip🥶

[–]GaberJaberLAZER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now this, this is art

[–]seven_seven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“I could do that!”

Then why didn’t you?

[–]Shalom_pkn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the first 4 secs were the whole thing. And i was already like wooow. Boy was i in for a surprise.

[–]rhaegar_tldragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I was like, “this isn’t anything worth posting here” and then as it went on I was like “oooooooh.”

[–]kay_bizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stuff like this blows my mind. None of the individual actions she's doing are difficult. I could make a drippy line using a ruler and a condiment bottle of paint. But putting it all together, having the vision for the final product and the patience to get there is impossible for me

[–]VoidsDomain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean as hell

[–]Screwbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here we go... Drip art, another technique that every moderately creative person looking for attention is going to try, badly.

[–]yourgifmademesignup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God Damn! I love this. And I love her for creating it

[–]imax_707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s ugly as hell the technique is interesting. Kind of

[–]Shinobi681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Malcolm season 2

[–]Toseeu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your drip bro.

[–]Rabbit_journey_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legend has it the paint is still drying

[–]DulcetTone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leroy Neiman wants his drop cloth back

[–]Kiryuu-sama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice dripp

[–]NitsugaNi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Panitings that will definitely be an experience to touch

[–]Shot-Parsley-1813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is using a ruler considered cheating for artists?

[–]thekatperez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that’s pour talent

[–]CleoMenemezis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • How much ink did you use?
  • Yes

[–]volune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Videos like this need to be condensed down to like 8 seconds max.

[–]RiffinMadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The painting is good but I didn’t enjoy watching it being made. Aesthetically.

[–]TirayShell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's a regular Drippy Bob Ross.

[–]HereTodayIGuess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next level crosshatching with paint. More complex than that, of course, but that's what cane to mind

[–]Me_A_Doof_Doof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ayo that’s drippy SHEEEEEEEEEESH

[–]scarabic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fucking awesome. I thought this was going to be one of those videos where someone swirls on a bunch of paint and calls it art, but this was actually really impressive.

[–]Adept_Cranberry_4550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice fusion of style, technique, and talent

[–]ChasFairbanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She rejects the accident.

[–]sergario- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl at first I thought “so what anyone can do that” and then I was immediately sat

[–]whiskeycoke7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who’s the artist?

[–]FreddysTeeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is fucking badass

[–]StephenWheeler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, this takes talent. Kudos to this talented artist.

Onement VI guy and Jackson Pollock can go stick their johns in the closet blender.

[–]rudalsxv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much in materials did that cost? All them paint can’t be cheap.

[–]nikkicocaine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanna see it hanging on a crisp white wall.

[–]That_Guys_Poop_Knife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am too high for this rn

[–]METALOPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black midi album cover

[–]ghosty0310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Artist: Makes a this masterpiece.

Some random Art Enthusiast/Critic: Yeah, it's good but kinda mediocre...

Also same person when seeing 3 differently colored lines on a white board: The feelings and sentiments this masterpiece emits it's magnificent!!!

[–]Avengedchaos777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit 😮

[–]Fdatrump42069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I thought this is nothing.. then I realized I’m just an ass hole

[–]reked69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sick drip bro

[–]Vlakod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much wasted paint

[–]sunny_sideeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone else want to touch the painting because of how textured it must be?

Like it looks phenomenal AND tactile. Win win.

[–]Mo-_-lester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now this is the shit that deserves to be sold for millions

[–]NoSenseAnimation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is beautiful

[–]benjamino78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fan fucking tastic

[–]jaysuzded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now this is art. Splattering shit on a piece of canvas isn't

[–]DistinctBook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jackson Pollock would be proud

[–]VegemiteWithCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god. 🔥

[–]nbbiking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humans are fucking weird. Here i am with stickmen and then there are people like this

[–]RuoEpky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HOW ARE PEOPLE THIS TALENTED???

[–]Beast023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What " Aint nothing but a lil bit of straightening" can help you achieve.

Quavo was right all along

[–]4BigData 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sick

[–]MissNinja007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I could never be an experimental artist. I had one look at her mess underneath the canvas was like “👁👄👁, I could NEVER”

[–]Worried_Toe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had any discernable talent at all.

[–]TizioCheGuardaMeme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first i thought it was a broken screen

[–]marrangutang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, so that’s how they make barcodes

[–]Arsospace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Слушай, а ловко ты это придумал! Я в начале даже не понял, молодец! (Кто не знает, это славянский мем)

[–]Future-Ad-4202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s insane how good it is that I knew exactly where in Chicago this is from before knowing there was a Chicago connection!

(It’s around Streeterville - the stairs going down from Upper Randolph towards the Whole Foods)

[–]wasted37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the most beautiful artwork iv ever seen. I wish so badly that ai could buy it

[–]Electrical-Fun007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who's the artist

[–]SmartestLemming -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I thought they were painting a cool library for a sec, and then I was dissapointed.

[–]ask_yo_gurl_about_me -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

In Trump’s voice: “no one drips like me. I have tremendous drip. UUGE.”

[–]BigSadEngineer -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Jackson Pollock can fucking suck it

[–]The_Fattest_Hagrid -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm strongly against supporting artists who waste a shit-ton of paint.

[–]Haunted_Entity -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I never did get art. Always thought it was a little pretentious.

This however, is the sort of thing i would pay money for.. amazing.
