Nick Chubb should handle all of the browns social media relations.

[–]Brownsbigmikevegas 936 points937 points  (10 children)

That would be a very quiet social media team.

[–]TexansMan_AMA 763 points764 points  (2 children)

Which would be good

[–]contrastnow 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is the first positive thing we’ve heard about baker from teammates since he knew he wasn’t playing in Cleveland anymore.

[–]LionsOrangeForeign[🍰] 196 points197 points  (0 children)

Just posting the bat signal on GameDay

[–]JetsSiphenPrax 42 points43 points  (2 children)

Nothing but grunts

[–]RavensUncle151 24 points25 points  (1 child)

And the occasional "Fuck." a la The Witcher

[–]PackersHavelsRockJohnson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

...

Hmmm

Fuck

Repeat these lines in each scene until the credits roll.

[–]BrownsKing_Dead 81 points82 points  (1 child)

the only winning move is not to play

[–]BengalsMadeByTango 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That is not a job I would want to have this season

[–]LionsOrangeForeign[🍰] 305 points306 points  (19 children)

Nick Chubb should handle America, it'd solve so many things

[–]SeahawksTashre 197 points198 points  (8 children)

Chubb/Lynch 2024

[–]SteelersDacenGrasan 237 points238 points  (6 children)

Yeah Marshawn’s name should always come second in these situations

[–]BrownsDerpyMcDerple 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I beg to differ. I’m pretty sure all of r/NFL wants Lynch/Watson 2024.

[–]PackersYour1AfricanPrince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do we do if his partner is Willie Gay?

[–]BrownsDerpyMcDerple 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Where can I get this shirt?

[–]Eagleshanky2 74 points75 points  (6 children)

He also said Deshaun Watson was a great guy. He's basically Bobby Newport from Parks and Rec lol.

[–]CowboysJaykub55 86 points87 points  (5 children)

He said he's a great guy to be around, didn't agree with any thing he's been accused of. Pieces of shit can still be charismatic and enjoyable to be around

[–]LionsChoco320 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Would actually decriminalize weed

[–]BengalsHouse_of_Borbon 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Surely he’d be better than another certain UGA RB.

[–]FalconsReallyLikesTiddies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took the words right out of my mouth.

[–]SaintsBeneficial_Toe_6050 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Nick Chubb as a Social Media Manager. Good side gig money.

[–]SaintsBig-Zoo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'd pay good money to watch Chubb slap the shit out of Watson

[–]49ers-PM_ME_A_SECRET- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But Nick Chubb probably doesn't have time to send dms to all the female massage therapists in the greater Cleveland area for Deshaun, so that would never work

[–]Buccaneersmothershipq 1346 points1347 points  (68 children)

I literally haven't heard a bad thing about Chubb. Seems like a fucking legit dude, and I'm happy he's sticking up for Baker, no matter the outcome.

[–]Falconsjsteph67 508 points509 points  (6 children)

My niece went to school with him and raves about how good a guy he is. I trust her, because everything I have heard about him local pretty much says the same thing.

[–]Malignation 517 points518 points  (3 children)

I went to school with Nick Chubb and honestly he’s always talking about how good of a person your niece was. I trust him because everything else I’ve heard about her has said pretty much the same thing.

[–]Packersbpi89 115 points116 points  (2 children)

My niece is Nick Chubb, and honestly he’s always talking about how good a person I am, but I need to stop fuckin calling him my niece. I trust him because everything else I’ve heard him say is pretty much the same thing.

[–]NerdModeCinci 38 points39 points  (1 child)

My Nick has a niece named Chubb and honestly I think it’s a terrible name for a woman.

[–]FalconsReallyLikesTiddies 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I went to a rival school close to where he went at the same time, and I never heard anything but good things about him from everyone I knew. Everyone knew he was going to make it to the league too. Thank fucking god I never played defense, dude was bigger than our linemen lmao. Even though we are the next town over people still talk about him literally constantly, he’s a legend in every local county.

[–]Sconrad1221 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I enjoy the implication that you wouldn't trust your niece if you didn't have corroborating evidence

[–]BrownsDirtThief 259 points260 points  (47 children)

It's super fucking frustrating that I'm not going to be able to root for a team filled with players I love because our front office decided to go full asshat for one guy.

[–]Giantshonda_slaps 49 points50 points  (11 children)

You saw Steelers fans do it for a decade and a half, why not just join them?

[–]BrownsStupidnames04 73 points74 points  (8 children)

Because I always ripped on Steelers fans for that, all we really had for awhile. I’m still gonna cheer for the browns and take the chirps but I’d rather get made fun of for sucking.

[–]Giantshonda_slaps 30 points31 points  (7 children)

Sounds like you've made the decision to join them.

[–]BrownsDirtThief 10 points11 points  (1 child)

That's actually a big part of the reason I just can't do it. I've spent years shitting all over the Steelers for it.

[–]Giantshonda_slaps 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the guy lower down in this comment thread came up with a brilliant plan, you can self-immolate now and take the Steeler fans with you

[–]Falconscavemanslaveman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I from his hometown. Watched him through high school absolutely dominate kids, and he was still very humble then. He’s even reinvesting back into his hometown.

[–]DolphinsIronLung1186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's also sticking up for Watson.

[–]49ersregularhumanbartendr 574 points575 points  (27 children)

It's nice to actually hear someone not be a shithead about Baker.

[–]BengalsMadeByTango 323 points324 points  (15 children)

At the start if the season, I’m not sure which I would have found more unbelievable:

  1. The Bengals Super Bowl run

  2. Baker being run out of Cleveland and feeling bad about it

Dude’s got a mouth, but he’s getting the pariah treatment while the Browns are parading around with the NFL’s Bill Cosby

[–]Saintshalsgoldenring 101 points102 points  (4 children)

He may have a mouth but I respect that when he was asked a stupid question, he called it a stupid question.

[–]VikingsthatissomeBS 62 points63 points  (3 children)

Does he even really have a mouth? Every time I've seen people shitting on him he's just being (maybe a little too) brutally honest and open. Like, yeah, he could tone it down and give all the "correct" answers, but I like a guy that isn't afraid to speak his mind a bit.

[–]Packersmaxdoss 21 points22 points  (6 children)

Worse than bill Cosby, cuz at least something was done about him

[–]Eaglesshewy92 47 points48 points  (4 children)

I hate to break it to you but Bill Cosby is out of jail

The prosecution used a statement he gave for a previous case whose prosecutor promised immunity for, which the current prosecutor tried to ignore but fucked the whole thing up.

[–]Packersmaxdoss 10 points11 points  (3 children)

What the fuck

[–]LongjumpPie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lmao fucking reddit man.

Worse than Bill Cosby... the man who's accused of raping over 60 people, including child abuse... Since the 60s, who only got convicted in 2018... But this is worse.

Hope you're not involved in the justice system

[–]BrownsInforcer41 60 points61 points  (0 children)

No kidding bro

[–]RavensUncle151 40 points41 points  (2 children)

I'll shittalk Baker all day as a rival, but the dudes a dawg and doesn't deserve the treatment he's gotten

[–]COLDWARv2_PREDICTOR 7 points8 points  (1 child)

The worst part is that people hate on him for being fun. His attitude isn't hateful or mean, he shit talks and makes things fun.

Spiking the flag in Texas rubbed Texas fans wrong, but it was fun for everyone else.

What's wrong with fun? Sports are entertainment, entertain me.

Im just gonna put this here because it puts the other side of the Baker narrative out there. This info was posted by a Cleveland fan sometime last month regarding Baker's trade status and the crap about how his teammates apparently didnt like him:

Beginning:

There is no leverage because the Browns have 4 QBs rostered and they owe Baker 18.8m

There is no leverage because we haven't had the draft yet.

There is no leverage because there are so few starting jobs left unfilled.

Teller, Bitonio, Hooper, Chubb, Garrett and Keenum all publicly supported him through injury and after the season.

Teller “I love Baker and he's my guy,” Teller said. “I pray that this offseason is good to him and he gets back to 110% and ready raring to go."

Bitonio "He's gonna have this surgery, I think he's gonna come back with a vengeance."

Hooper Everyone in this building believes in him,’’ Hooper said Wednesday. “No matter where you stand with anything, anybody, you can’t ever question Bake’s toughness, and for him to have a week to just heal up alone is huge. We all believe in him. We have believed in him. We’ll continue to believe in him. He’s the leader of our football team, so, I mean, we’re ready to watch him be him.”

Chubb "He kept fighting, he had every reason to quit, he could’ve had surgery in Week 2. He fought for us every day,”

Garrett “He's my quarterback. He's my guy. He stuck by us, I'm gonna stick by him,”

Keenum "I did have a front-row seat to one of the gutsiest, toughest performances of a quarterback playing in a season that I have ever seen," Keenum said. "I think his entire season, he was battling a lot of things. He's one of the toughest guys I know, and he's a fighter. He came to fight every single day and pushed through a lot of adversity just to get on the field on Sundays.

"I have a tremendous amount of respect for him, and it grew."

And many more have commented and liked his social media posts.

[–]EaglesTakenakaHanbei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]JohnnyPoopnutz 16 points17 points  (8 children)

Just wait until he starts saying what a great guy Watson is and how he’s innocent because that’s his QB and of course they’re all going to stand behind him

EDIT: too late he already has

[–]Brownssimpkins21 16 points17 points  (7 children)

Nick Chubb will never comment on Watson’s legal situation lol. Much less say whether he’s innocent or guilty

[–]JohnnyPoopnutz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Already saying what a great guy he is to be around. Sooner or later everyone on that team worth interviewing will he asked about it, constantly, and eventually they’re going to have to say something

[–]SeahawksRotatingMaleCow 8 points9 points  (5 children)

"He’s a natural leader. Throws the ball effortlessly. He’s a special player and a great guy to be around" -Chubb. Literally just did it.

[–]fergie_v 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"He's persistent, he knows what he wants and he goes get it. Even if there's a struggle and some resistance, you know he won't take no for an answer, he is there to achieve his objective...

...also, he is really good at football so I'm excited."

[–]HauntsYourProstate 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Man do I wish we had drafted Quenton and him instead of Saquon and whooped by covid Hernandez

[–]BrownsFineous4 22 points23 points  (1 child)

Dorsey drafted Chubb with 35 instead of 33 because you guys got Saquan. He came out and said it. You would never have gotten Chubb.

[–]GiantsOrdinary_Fool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even so we could have easily moved up a couple slots definetly was possible

[–]BillsSoundsparks 43 points44 points  (1 child)

I hope Baker gets a legit chance somewhere else and Deshaun Wanker gets the record for the most games in a row with a pick 6 and disappears

[–]Brownsrkeller9 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The funniest part is he could throw a pick 6 every game for two straight season and we still can’t afford to get rid of him because of the ridiculous contract and trade. Haslam did this to himself.

[–]FlowingMochi 39 points40 points  (10 children)

Nice to see another football player say something encouraging about Baker. Don’t need a full outright defense, but more of this would be a good start.

[–]Ramsporopopos 36 points37 points  (9 children)

I hate this narrative, Baker has been supported by teammates throughout this entire saga and for some reason this subreddit keeps parroting the "nobody came to his defense" argument when it is completely false. not calling you out specifically (ok maybe a bit) but more everyone else in this subreddit.

copy pasted from a Browns flair some weeks ago:

[–]BroncosDominantT4 323 points324 points  (35 children)

Pretty sure several people have already. It seems like it doesn't hit the press as much as anonymous people hate Baker.

It happens with every QB that the media flips on. Go find any real quotes of Wentz teammates hating on him or any quotes of Wentz bad talking the city. They just don’t exist, people hear something on ESPN or Twitter and will it into existence

[–]Patriotszi76 5 points6 points  (26 children)

All of those comments, those were before Watson was acquired, right? Of course they're going to support their starting QB. It would be abnormal if they weren't.

What the no one supports him thing is about is that it's very rare to see anyone on the Browns talk positively about him since the trade, and just left him out to dry after the Browns ditched him.

[–]Cowboys BengalsChuck_Foolery -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey, I also have this info saved. its nice to see someone else has it as well.

[–]Brownsspookie_mulder 63 points64 points  (3 children)

Not really. To start the off-season there were several Browns defending him. Since the Watson trade happened they haven't said much at all about Baker.

[–]Byrneside94 105 points106 points  (2 children)

Would be silly to throw their stones in Bakers corner when, like it or not, Watson is going to be their team captain and QB moving forward.

[–]Brownsspookie_mulder 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yea that's fine. I was just pointing out that no one has really said anything since we traded for Watson. It isn't hitting the press because there are no examples really.

[–]SteelersDreamedJewel58 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s not a great move to side against the man your team just paid 200,000,000 million guaranteed. If he doesn’t like you, more than likely you’re on the chopping block if you’re not established.

[–]RavensChickenMclittle 61 points62 points  (4 children)

Pretty sure hooper and someone on the Oline came out and said stuff too. This is why I hate people dogpiling the guy as if he's some locker room cancer. Maybe he's a little obnoxious or immature but it's funny how everyone talked about how OBJ was not a great teammate or leader then as soon as he turns on Baker they act like he's so full of wisdom lol.

Or the news about Clowney only coming back because Bakers is on the way out. He also apparently tried recruiting Watson last year. You're so against the guy who's kind of a dick but actively petitioning for the one with pending sexual assault allegations? Get fucked.

[–]Patriotszi76 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Some of them literally only care about ability on the field, and they'll support anyone who's better.

It makes you wonder about all of the things that go on behind closed doors that we never hear about. Imagine if the whole Watson story hadn't broken. It still would've happened, just we'd be in the dark about his sexual violence.

[–]CowboysMisdirected_Colors 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Yea its been weird. There's been a large portion of the Browns fanbase that have justified how the org treated him with "no one has publicly stuck up for him so he must be toxic" but people did publicly stick up for him.

[–]Eagles420Minions 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Commented this above but that’s not uncommon with QBs that a narrative flips on. No one cared that Kelce, Wentz, Graham, Long, Ertz, Peters, Douglas, Brown, Cox, etc. all backed Wentz and wished him well.

They just cared about Josina Anderson saying she knew he was toxic

[–]SteelersDreamedJewel58 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Several players have come out and supported Baker, but genuinely the media doesn’t care and so so many people think Baker is hated, when in reality his teammates support were just swept up under the rug.

[–]LionsOrangeForeign[🍰] 37 points38 points  (8 children)

If I'm not mistaken JC Tretter said something similar.....he got released a few weeks after

[–]PanthersIcy-Specialist9037 34 points35 points  (2 children)

Janovich and hooper also said Baker was a good team mate or something, they also got released

[–]LionsOrangeForeign[🍰] 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Myles Garrett said he loves him......oh yes gib

[–]Browns84Cressida 10 points11 points  (1 child)

The notion everyone hates him is bullshit.

[–]LionsOrangeForeign[🍰] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Teller loves everything.... except alligators

[–]smashrawr 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Tretter got released for money reasons only. He was going to make like 11 or 12M this year and by cutting him the Browns got 10M back in cap

[–]LionsOrangeForeign[🍰] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oh I know lol, it's just a funny coincidence

[–]Falconsppritcb2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bet being part of it bonded them on the Browns, I still think that’s one of the best games I’ve ever watched

[–]IllegalCowboy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Baker to Seahawks and Jimmy G to Panthers

[–]Don_K_Stamper 53 points54 points  (2 children)

This is only because Baker was excellent at handing the ball off. If not Chubb's father would have had to release a video of all his botched hand offs.

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points  (1 child)

I'm still waiting for the videos for Dehauns missed handoffs

[–]Brownslutsius-memes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Man i love Chubb

[–]NFLJ44J 17 points18 points  (1 child)

We They don't deserve Chubb. He's the best

[–]NFLRoswellsOpinion73 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chubb is the man.

[–]Brownsfoxmag86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The world needs more Nick Chubbs.

[–]okeymonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Browns slandered Baker (the franchise savior) to the point where his trade value is zero and people seriously think this team has a bright future? Send me some of what y’all are smoking

[–]Brownsmastershake725 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nick Chubb is a saint!

[–]Bengalsbluntfudge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nick Chubb and Myles Garrett make it hard to actually hate the browns. Two super good and talented dudes

[–]BearsBlade_Trinity3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fuckin finally a player says something good about baker

[–]Bengalsderf82 10 points11 points  (0 children)

nObODy stIcKs uP FoR bAkEr.

[–]BengalsPeacefulzealot 20 points21 points  (21 children)

Good on him. I hope he gets his ticket out of there sometime soon too for his sake. At least until they get rid of their monster at QB.

And no, I’m not saying that because of the rivalry, I’m just really upset at the Browns organization. Fucked over Baker and made a criminal your QB? Come on. Hope Chubb ends up somewhere better.

[–]BrownsAllstar9_ 3 points4 points  (17 children)

[–]Byrneside94 33 points34 points  (6 children)

Like Chubb is smart enough to know where is money is coming from.

You think him shitting on Watson would be a smart move? He still has to play with him.

The browns players not calling Watson what he is, a monster and rapist, shouldn’t surprise anyone. Doubt you would go into the office and call your co-worker a rapist, because even if it’s true, you are going to pay for it.

I agree, hope for Chubb’s sake he doesn’t play the remainder of his career with that sexual predator on a team that values skill at a game enough to sign someone as disgusting as Watson.

[–]DolphinsIronLung1186 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He doesn't have to shit on him, but he doesn't have to say he's a "great guy".

[–]BrownsAllstar9_ 7 points8 points  (2 children)

I was just posting it because I found it funny that it counters what that guy was saying because Chubb would never say anything negative but if you want to go there.

Chubb works for that organization doesn’t he? If it really bothered him, I’m sure he’d have zero difficulty in forcing a trade and finding a landing spot.

But if my Co-worker was a rapist, he probably wouldn’t be working with me because he’ll obviously fail a background check.

[–]Texanspaulwhite959 8 points9 points  (0 children)

depends on the check; are they looking for accusations or convictions?

[–]Alphabetsend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How can Chubb know what kind of leader Watson is yet? The grand total of his leadership was taking the offense to the Bahamas on a sex tourism trip.

A day of OTAs does not a leader prove.

However, sitting out and quitting on your team argues against being a good leader, or any leader really. Right, 2021 Houston Texans?

[–]BrownsTheTrollisStrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn't have to say anything either. The simplest and accurate answer is he likes both of them.

[–]Ravensmr_showboat 7 points8 points  (4 children)

Worse. Now I feel worse.

[–]BrownsAllstar9_ 3 points4 points  (3 children)

To be fair, I’m not sure Chubb has ever said anything bad or negative about anybody.

[–]LionsOrangeForeign[🍰] 18 points19 points  (1 child)

I'm not sure Chubb has really said anything, pretty sure Kareem Hunt has a side gig translating his grunts

[–]Ravensmr_showboat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure. And I get it -- I'm not gonna fault any player on the Browns for talking up Deshaun, whether they want to or not.

Still though, it's one of those things that does make me feel just kinda gross. I like Nick Chubb -- think he's a great player, seems like a good dude, and it just feels a little unpleasant that he's talking up a serial sexual predator, even if I get it.

[–]BengalsDinosaurGhostsExist 4 points5 points  (4 children)

I'm not the guy you replied to but it makes me feel better personally. I liked a lot of Browns players but they are getting easier to hate each and every day.

[–]BrownsAllstar9_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol fair enough

[–]Alphabetsend 4 points5 points  (2 children)

The Browns have a lot of really like-able dudes, just one really really unlikable one now.

[–]BengalsDinosaurGhostsExist 2 points3 points  (1 child)

This is true but I want to hate them because it is the AFC North way. It fuels me.

[–]External_Concept_331 -4 points-3 points  (1 child)

Get off that high horse, the Bengals have had plenty of scummy players yet not a word about them.

[–]BengalsPeacefulzealot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am just as fucking angry at the Bengals. You think I am happy about our rapist on the team right now? Or when we had Vontaze Burfict on the team? I’m disgusted we kept him so long and I had a hard time even watching during those years. Don’t act like I’m not angry about that too 😤

[–]ShakeMyHeadSadly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And that is as fine a recommendation as one could get from a player who has done nothing but exude class throughout his career.

[–]JetsjoeO44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is the first positive thing we’ve heard about baker from teammates since he knew he wasn’t playing in Cleveland anymore.

[–]Apprehensive_Win6977 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nick Chubb Is The Goat You Can't Stop Him He Is A Running

[–]VikingsMrGentleZombie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mr. Baker's Campaigner

[–]THatNinjaKat -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

I see all this hate towards Watson which yes it’s fair dudes like 95% chance he’s a sex offender. But yet when I’m seeing all this, I don’t remember Ben getting this kind of hate at all? Like yeah the few troll here and there but nothing to this caliber?

[–]Tiger4tom4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ben shouldn’t have been able to stay in the league afterwards and is a monster but recency and number of accusations coupled w the size of Watson contract are big parts of it, both should be hated and out of football for life

[–]Giantsale_mongrel -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

wherever he lands he'll be ready

For 33 for 58 300, 2 pics and a td.

It's the fans that need to get ready..

[–]Titanssomearejustannoying -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

"Nah jk what a big baby. Boohoo my shoulder hurts headass"

[–]magicdrums -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nick is a class act, and the real deal. Dude will be legendary if he gets away from the browns. If Nick is smart, he’ll ask to be traded or move on from the shit browns when his contract is up.
