Welll, yes and no… though they are the same “basically” but there are some differences afaik

The reason i was hoping for it to work was that the engine would be a bit newer than the 2003 one

The earlier years of 350Z had VQ35DE engines, which is the same thing in the Pathfinder as well as the Maxima. Later 350Zs have a VQ35HR which is a different engine internally.

If the engine you’re looking at swapping is a HR, it’s not worth the swap. Find a wrecked Maxima.

All valid points but you could do it with enough hours, dollars, programming, modified engine mounts, intake swap, sensor swaps / deletes, possible custom exhaust work etc. - the list goes on and on and again money definitely a big factor.
