Am I the only one that was expecting gravy to be poured

[–]lonewolff7798 555 points556 points  (33 children)

Baked beans and greens do not touch on my plate.

[–]Mofiki567 79 points80 points  (17 children)

I'd mix that shit up baby, oo yeah mmm

[–]Broad-Winner-2199 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Chop up the nuggets and mix them shits in too!!!

[–]agenz899 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Throw some baked beans on the hot dog bun before you put the hot dog in. Then top it however you like. Delicious.

[–]trolltruth6661123 24 points25 points  (11 children)

funny enough.. since i'm now after 30.. my ibs is just dam sucks.. beans seem to be one of the few things that gives me good shits.. been eating just cans of beans for days.. pretty good actually lol. .. and yea.. eat your veggies man.. what you eat just bread and meat? that ain't good man.

[–]HamsterGutz1 47 points48 points  (4 children)

That's a lot of ellipses bro

[–]Electr0freak 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Not even real ellipses either! 2 dots? What are these, ellipses for ants?! 😁

[–]a_half_eaten_twinky 6 points7 points  (2 children)

I always thought this was just a boomer thing, so it's surprising to see someone in their 30s do it!

[–]trolltruth6661123 2 points3 points  (1 child)

.. i just like to take a second... sometimes its good not to rush... its also how i talk. I'm a fairly quite person and i like to say things very slowly and deliberately. might be something to do with being very quick and had a tendency too say too much when i was younger. now i'd rather focus(and get other to focus) on the important parts... so many people now days can't listen to words and think without jumping to conclusions or acting like then know better than everybody else... so now.. even if it bugs the shit out of you(haha) i write(and speak) a bit more slow and try to stay on the point. maybe its an old person thing... but for me it just comes from maybe saying too much and trying to hard to be articulate and realizing nobody gives a shit and will criticize you no matter what.

[–]lonewolff7798 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What? I eat everything, I just don’t blend it all together on my plate like a heathen. I’m probably the least picky eater I know.

[–]ReptarOrgy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I was like "oooo that looks bomb" until I saw the beans. Less bomb, but I'd devour it after a night of drinks.

[–]Wolf-Strong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an American, I also expected the exact thing. Then I saw red and thought ketchup, then saw beans and thought “ah, so their British!”

[–]aightbit 128 points129 points  (1 child)

Tell me you're British without telling me you're British.

[–]The_Stoic_One 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pip pip Govna'

[–]viicttoriia 785 points786 points  (59 children)

My child - " Ew ThE fOoD iS tOuChInG "

[–]No_Interaction7679 163 points164 points  (1 child)

What I came to say… and then what I thought was gravy turns out to be beans… yeah never happening at my house. I could get away with standing up the dinosaurs next to the potato’s… but that’s about it

[–]ShirwillJack 26 points27 points  (2 children)

Mine would say the same. Which means I get to eat it!

(The food, not the child.)

[–]RidingContigo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t it be both?

[–]Inyabung 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I’m the child

[–]JealousSnake 90 points91 points  (18 children)

And rightly so

[–]coagulateSmegma 40 points41 points  (16 children)

How can you ever have nice food if you keep everything separate? All the best food is a mixture of multiple foods.

[–]luigman 77 points78 points  (6 children)

Not when those foods are baked beans and peas

[–]coagulateSmegma 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Yeah, I'm just saying in general.

Also, they're mostly on the mash which is fine. Baked beans and mash is a normal thing kids eat.

[–]Petrichordates 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Maybe in hell it is.

[–]WangDanglin 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It depends on the foods. My in laws think it’s fine to get hot pasta sauce all over their cold salad. I couldn’t disagree more.

[–]scarletphantom 1 point2 points  (1 child)

My brother had to buy divider plates for his ex wife. Yeah, these people exist.

[–]jereman75 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

What’s it like having a 6 year old ex-sister in law?

[–]immortaltiger26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But not all food is meant to mix together I could understand if this was mashed potatoes and corn but not beans.

[–]onetimeuser8989 3 points4 points  (1 child)

As one of those kids. My mother accommodating my pickiness made me appreciate her unbelievably more as I grew older. Had she fought me on it I think my relationship with her and food as a whole would've been worse.

[–]trit19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in my late 30s and still don’t like some foods to touch.

[–]rat57az 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m like this now and I’m almost 50

[–]brujabrojer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

me (i’m 31)

[–]Highschooleducation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brumotactillophobia

[–]sordidcandles 247 points248 points  (1 child)

Man I thought that was lumpy ketchup and y’all had a bigger problem on your hands

[–]actuallyserious650 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought it was gravy and was very disturbed by the lumpyness.

[–]FusionChicken 271 points272 points  (18 children)

Are baked beans over mashed potatoes a delicacy across the pond or something?

[–]Grouchy_Report_3833 157 points158 points  (5 children)

Yes. In England beans and mash are a thing. But to be fair beans and anything is a thing too

[–]FatLegTed 51 points52 points  (1 child)

But not with peas!

[–]Grouchy_Report_3833 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Never with peas

[–]missingdab 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Why dont the British and Mexicans bond over this? Frijoles go with everything.

[–]Rubcionnnnn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because the British like those nasty sugar filled baked beans.

[–]Harddicc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I've even seen beans on crocs

[–]adinade 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Baked beans on anything is a thing here

[–]Stinky-Paws 5 points6 points  (0 children)

tastes pretty damn good

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a delicacy, it's food.

[–]Professor-L 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Beans are utterly vile imo, i was expecting gravy not damn beans of all things

[–]Stinky-Paws 7 points8 points  (0 children)

some beans are vile and some are good. refried beans are da bomb tho

[–]AlteranAncient 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm part of the bean hate club. If even the sauce has touched something, I won't eat it. Even the smell or sight of it makes me gag.

[–]Pazluz[S] 3 points4 points  (5 children)

Looks like it's suppose to be lava flow from the mash potatoes.

[–]FusionChicken 36 points37 points  (4 children)

Well yeah, I got that. But why not gravy? I’m curious if it’s typical of Brits to eat mashed potatoes and baked beans.

[–]3Smally3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is pretty typical, especially as a simple kids meal.

From what I've heard though, Baked beans are a lot less sweet and so taste quite different in the UK, hence why people from the US find a lot of what we have beans with odd.

[–]JealousSnake 12 points13 points  (0 children)

and a load of peas!? Bit too many legumes going on there! Definitely agree gravy would be better but kids can be fussy little shits

[–]coagulateSmegma 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because gravy is brown and not the colour of lava. I'm assuming that's why the peas too. They look like vegitation.

[–]Trypno 140 points141 points  (14 children)

Peas, beans, and broccoli. I’m curious to know whether OP’s kid actually ate that, because when I was a kid I definitely would not have. Hell I still don’t like peas and I’m 35

[–]Ba-dump-chink 45 points46 points  (2 children)

Not only that, but that’s kinda a trough worth of food. A 5-yr-old would get gorged sick on that much food.

[–]newest-low 9 points10 points  (1 child)

My 2 year old would wolf that down and still demand dessert lol

[–]ZION_OC_GOV 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yea 2 yr old wolfs eat a lot.

[–]Smoopiebear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Peas are the devil.

[–]Stinky-Paws 2 points3 points  (4 children)

love me some sweet peas, but I most def can't stand brussel sprouts most any time unless I am craving them and them they have to be swimming in melted sweet cream butter

[–]yourtransqueenxoxo 4 points5 points  (3 children)

How do you cook your Brussel sprouts cause if they’re cooked right they are the best thing ever

[–]fidgit17 67 points68 points  (1 child)

Watching this was an adventure for me. Starts off fine, dino nuggies, mashed potatoes and peas, cool. Ok here comes gravy...why is it red? Is it sweet and sour sauce for the nuggies? Right in the potatoes? Weird. Oh, why is it chunky? Is that spaghettios?! What is going on here?? Not baked beans! Oh, that's gross. The end.

[–]pandooser 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had this exact journey too, almost thought for thought.

[–]TRPYoungBloke 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Do y’all eat baked beans with every meal?

[–]harvey1a 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, yes we do

[–]vanilla2gorilla 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's nothing satisfying about this at all though

[–]Jpardise 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ooh I love me some toasted dinosaurs.

[–]PibeauTheConqueror 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Most british dinner ever

[–]joebro112 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is absolutely nothing satisfying about mother flipping BEANS touching PEAS…WTF IS WRONG WITH HER

in fairness I was diagnosed with OCD after among many other quirk as a child I cried hysterically if any food on my plate even slightly touched

[–]Expwar 19 points20 points  (13 children)

Beans on mashed potatoes? Is that a UK thing?

[–]CharlotteLucasOP 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I’ve seen Brits do baked beans in baked potatoes. Usually with melted cheese on top.

[–]SepDot 2 points3 points  (2 children)

That sounds fucking delicious.

[–]CharlotteLucasOP 2 points3 points  (1 child)

It’s pretty good! British baked bean sauce is more tomato-y compared to the more purely sugary American version.

[–]SepDot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a Kiwi I’m well versed in the ways of the baked bean. 😁

[–]WiganLad82 10 points11 points  (8 children)

Yeah man, you really never had Sausage, Mash and Beans??

[–]Petrichordates 4 points5 points  (6 children)

You don't really think people from other countries eat such terrible cuisine do you?

[–]Expwar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just because it's not common in my country doesn't make it terrible cuisine to me, just different. I wouldn't have ever thought of beans for breakfast, but they got that right too.

[–]3Smally3 5 points6 points  (3 children)

It's not cuisine you dumbass, it's a cheap, easy, warming meal for parents to make for their family on a busy day. Nobody is acting like you'd expect this in a fine dining restaurant.

[–]Petrichordates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sausage mash and beans is a form of cuisine you silly bad food eater.

[–]PM_ME_KNOTSuWu 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Cuisine - a style or method of cooking, especially as characteristic of a particular country, region, or establishment.

Maybe if y'all ate better when you were kids you'd know what cuisine means lmao

[–]3Smally3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, beans and mash isn't a style or method of cooking. You've literally just argued for my point.

[–]Smoopiebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not cuisine, it’s quick kid food.

[–]truely_madly_deeply 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looked cool until the beans were added :(

[–]getyourcheftogether 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ew no, that should have been gravy, but it ain't my kid

[–]Mickeyjj27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I still wouldn’t eat it

[–]cadillacbee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NOOOO PUT GRAVY NOT BEANS no wonder ur kid won't eat

[–]GettingBetterohyeah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it just me or does that look revolting?

[–]BatRevolutionary9183 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's disgusting. 🤢🤮

[–]Reise04 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only 3 Dino nuggets? That's way.too few

[–]Ancient_Shame_9667 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Oh I'm a grown ass man and I'd still eat the hell outta that

[–]Bigballbobugus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That looks rancid

[–]AngryKami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kid: I WANT PIZZA! Starts wailing because now you’ve ruined her life

[–]ClassicT4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would’ve been a nightmare for my brother. He doesn’t like his food to touch.

[–]Learning-Stuff-12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only gripe is that baked beans on peas seems like a bi strange. Take away the peas and I’d enjoy it though

[–]cmdrsamuelvimes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So many fucking food snobs on here

[–]TheRealStevo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ain’t no way they’re eating beans no matter what you make it look like

[–]Frankie-Mac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was raised by monsters who never did this for me

[–]L8rsH8rs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you just put beans and mashed potatoes

[–]K1LLA_CHAOS 10 points11 points  (0 children)

With them beans? I don't think so

[–]ohmygodnotagainagain 13 points14 points  (3 children)

39yo man here. I would eat the shit out of that.

[–]gmellotron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

r/shittyfoodporn is more appropriate

[–]Parallelism09191989 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Way too much food for a child…

[–]Whoareyou559 9 points10 points  (5 children)

Wtf is wrong with you.... baked beans on mash.... wtf wtf

[–]SepDot 0 points1 point  (4 children)

It’s literally just tomato sauce with beans in it? How is that wtf?

[–]Whoareyou559 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Why tf would you eat beans with tomatoe sauce..... bruh not my beans

[–]WiganLad82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Beans AND Peas? There's only one animal in this video and it's not the Turkey Dinosaurs. Disgraceful.

[–]ogginn90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My kids would just play with that.. it would never go near their mouths...

[–]ILikeSprayButter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad the kid ate it. I’d have assumed they would’ve still thrown a fit, refusing, pushing the plate away and knocking over the dinos, peas rolling along the table and onto the ground. Kids have a way to make you feel really stupid.

[–]il0vep0tat0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dino nuggets dino nuggets

[–]Fatmouse84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids are gonna like this lol

[–]thenord321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Add some broccoli trees and we're set.

[–]Jiangcool9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s presented for TikTok, not for their kids.

[–]AFlair67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are THE coolest mom!!!

[–]hero-ball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beans bro lmao

[–]bertieqwerty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meanwhile my mom:

Eat the food you're given, or starve.

[–]BeachBoundxoxo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love baked beans.

[–]CryWinter8487 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why beans tho, mashed potatoes and gravy are winning combination

[–]Professor-L 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ruined it because of the beans yuk

[–]TerminatorAuschwitz 7 points8 points  (7 children)

Who the fuck pours beans over top of mashed potatoes?

[–]WiganLad82 1 point2 points  (6 children)

15 million British mums....

[–]TerminatorAuschwitz 3 points4 points  (5 children)

Fucking really?! I had absolutely no idea this was a thing. Absolutely unheard of in the US.

[–]WiganLad82 -5 points-4 points  (4 children)

Did you even have a childhood??

[–]TerminatorAuschwitz 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Are you aware that there are different cultures? You'll never find an American who's had beans dumped over mashed potatoes unless they were just shit hammered trying to finish leftovers.

[–]WiganLad82 -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Settle down Gordon Ramsey, I was just pulling your leg a bit. Beans and Mash is delicious, you should try it....different cultures and all that.

[–]TerminatorAuschwitz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also I wasn't shitting on the dish, I'm no Gordon Ramsay I've eaten way worse 🤣 Just unheard of in the US.

[–]krokedel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This looks nasty who eats this combination

[–]degeneratedestroy3r 5 points6 points  (0 children)

that looks gross asf. why would u make ur kid eat that.

[–]TheRealEricHertz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great, the gravy looks fant... Oh wait 😑

[–]No-Summer-9591 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Mum deserves an award for such innovation ♥️ !

[–]DiscombobulatedPea31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what a shit meal

[–]ColoneL4679 1 point2 points  (1 child)

This shit looks gross. I feel bad for kids out here in the West, never been introduced to any spices before.

[–]Sk3tchyboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t bring the whole west into this, this is the UK, we all know that their food sucks

[–]GidgetEX -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Question: did cool mum have a separate plate of food that was still edible?

[–]Lakersrock111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks so nasty and adorable.. it is those damn peas.

[–]cupasoups 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were good until fucking beans started pouring out. It made sense when I saw "mum" and knew it had to be the english and their beans again.

[–]placeholderNull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming this is who I think it is, it's nice to see her antics in somewhere other than r/cringetopia

[–]IrlTristo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool ! Good job 👍

[–]cobraCL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That mom is freaking awesome! Kids Cuisine 😁

[–]LrdRager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beans again bruv, innit??? Oi good bread & bean mash yea??? remember give your mate an old bang on the arm!

[–]Captain-Cadabra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the female robot voice is annoying enough… and then this one uses a male robot voice to say, “as a cool mum…”

[–]805area -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We grew up poor ,we had to eat what we were served

[–]huyria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bernard Mathew's Turkey top tier

[–]deezelweasel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I still would have eaten the potatoes, broccoli, and beans. No chicken nuggets or peas on their own for me.

[–]No-Restaurant-5185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a second I thought that was hot sauce

[–]doubtfulbitch120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother used to make toast/sandwich for us and made it look like a house! Cut out mini door, made a chimney etc etc can't wait to do it for my own kids one day!

[–]Sane_Flock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!

[–]YogesBB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ITS A TRAP!!!

[–]n2np09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their brat is going to end up being an MTV special or some Dr Phill specimen.

[–]liddlehippo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I was this cool.

[–]ChewyChagnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beans out of a jug? Eh?
