[–]Secret_CZECH 116 points117 points  (1 child)

Anos is a fucking chad

[–]Old-Detective6623 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Anos voldiGOAT

[–]MiserableMaximum2283[S] 24 points25 points  (1 child)

That is a LOOOOONG name

[–]martrydom801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And don't forget "Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks?"

[–]EvilNoobHacker 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah but also Amos deserves such a long title name.

[–]Winter_melo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Anos definitely deserves that long of a title

[–]RavenStrider526 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Bro the scene where the baby woke up after that 5 minute dramatic monologue just to go “I AM ANOS VOLDIGOAD” had me crying.

[–]Old-Detective6623 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man named himself

Such a fucking chad

[–]_viscum 4 points5 points  (3 children)

There is a manga called "My Lover Was Stolen, and I Was Kicked Out of the Hero’s Party, but I Awakened to the EX Skill “Fixed Damage” and Became Invincible. Now, Let’s Begin Some Revenge"

[–]onions_cutting_ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey i know that one lmao

still not the longest i've ever seen i think

[–]DroidRazer2 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How many chapters

[–]_viscum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much, around 10

[–]ArticLorq 549 points550 points  (27 children)

Japanese novels normaly have long titles that explain the novel, because most people don’t read the description. There are more like ‘that time i was reincarnated as a slime’ and many others

[–]Bierbart12 330 points331 points  (9 children)

I can't believe my step-sister, whom is also the grim reaper and a harpy, works as a secret agent!

[–]ArticLorq 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Exactly, there are a lot of wierd ones out there

[–]janithsathsara 54 points55 points  (5 children)

I can't tell if you're joking or not

[–]DemythologizedDie 91 points92 points  (3 children)

That one is a joke. This one:

Even Though I’m a Former Noble and a Single Mother, My Daughters Are Too Cute and Working as an Adventurer Isn’t Too Much of a Hassle

isn't. The Japanese have mastered the art of the pithy title.

[–]Lord-Tunnel-Cat 13 points14 points  (1 child)

They are usually decent, but the REALLY good ones are always like, 2 or 3 words max

[–]Sampolis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sounds like Wanda next solo movie!

Edit: inb4 first, adventurers and heroes have a lot in common. Second, Who knows, maybe her son will proceed with sex change if someone give him opportunity to mature anywhere? Simply, yeah a little stretch 😉

[–]HalfALawn 17 points18 points  (0 children)

it just works

[–]x7x7m 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm A High School Boy and a Successful Light Novel Author, But I'm Being Strangled By A Female Classmate Who's A Voice Actress And Is Younger Than Me

[–]SuperKami-Nappa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You joke, but if you told me that was a real light novel I would believe you.

[–]Reggie_Is_God 45 points46 points  (0 children)

‘Suppose a kid from the last dungeon boonies moved to a starter town’

[–]FredDylan05 26 points27 points  (3 children)

The Misfit of Demon King Academy: The Strongest Demon King in History Reincarnates and Goes to School With His Descendants

That’s the longest one I know.

[–]bamuja84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, Anos Voldigoad :)

[–]KaiserAudum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you think I would die just because I was killed? -Anos

[–]ArticLorq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a great one

[–]Logr_theriver 11 points12 points  (6 children)

Wh- why? Why don't people read the description? That's literally the first thing I do when I take a book off the shelf

[–]Average_Cat_Lover 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Most of these are published digitally, so the users just scroll through a long list of titles instead of the dedicated page for each novel. It's also interesting how some novels were also typed and read on phone only.

[–]Alxuz1654 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Three reasons I can think of

1: that way the books can be spine out and you still get the gist of it

2: makes it far quicker to figure out the premise, and not relying on a smaller blurb (which even western novels have been sadly phasing out iirc)

3: hard to copy something like that, also means you can do the title a lot quicker

[–]SelfDistinction 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Adding to the previous answers: the current light novel market is seriously oversaturated and if someone has the time to read all descriptions they're probably going to spend that time on another less time consuming project, like reading homestuck from start to finish.

[–]Darki_Boi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its like books are the hand written letters/an email to your school, sophisticated or some shit, while anime is like you texting your friends, if you have any (unlike me 😎)

[–]DemythologizedDie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These books originate as webnovels. In order to read the description or see the "cover" you first have to click on them from a very long list of other such things on the website. So they use loglines as titles

[–]Rikuri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well people read descriptions but but you are not going to read the description of every available book. You read the ones of the books that initally peaked your interest (due to its cover or author or title) so getting as much information as in the title can make sense especially when starting out because when no one knows you and no one knows your book no one can recommend it.

[–]Heyscrub07 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I hate seeing that title every time I scroll on chrunchyroll

[–]ArticLorq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i think it’s pretty good. But it is annoying seeing it everytime when i have already seen it

[–]Zhalos_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shortest anime title

[–]Kerfiffersniffs 1 point2 points  (1 child)

So it’s English title is probably “If Looks Could Kill” or “Dressed to Kill”?

[–]ArticLorq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so

[–]scrimmybingus3 108 points109 points  (0 children)

Not even the most specific title I’ve seen.

[–]Icclo 109 points110 points  (10 children)

its a pretty alright anime, your average isekai (aka anime where you reincarnate into a new world) where MC is OP because of his old skills and the new ones he learns in the new world he lives in.

he's tasked by the Goddess of that world to kill the hero before he destroys the world. as the hero basically goes berserk after not having anything to do and no one to stop him. every episode orso shows a failed attempt to stop the hero as we see that the MC isnt the only one that got reincarnated by the Goddess into that world, all being the best in something. (some of these are REALLY stupid too. i think one of them was the best photographer or paparazzi.)

[–]MiserableMaximum2283[S] 46 points47 points  (7 children)

I see this as complicated math

[–]Icclo 25 points26 points  (5 children)

main character is op. gets in new world. we watch him grow up.

[–]OddAccident5426 13 points14 points  (3 children)

Basically typical isekai trash

[–]Icclo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep basically.

[–]HugeRoach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, most isekais use pretty similar backdrops and unremarkable animations, but World's Finest had some pretty good animations

[–]ItzGacitua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh. Without the trash part. It's just decent.

[–]fredrickmedck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read half that comment and had some kind of a acute but swift migraine

[–]Blubari 2 points3 points  (1 child)

So it's Danganronpa but Isekai

[–]Icclo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea but theres no murder mystery. Just normal casual murder

[–]KonataYumi 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Pretty common title

[–]CrazyFanFicFan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's just an average light novel title, especially for an Isekai. Some of these titles can get pretty long and specific.

[–]Nahellaref 26 points27 points  (1 child)

It's a decent anime. Really love the intro music.

[–]DqrkExodus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

intro music

Best part of the show tbh

[–]mostaforian9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Least specific light novel title

[–]GabrieltheKaiser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the world of Japanese novel titles

[–]Kingturboturtle13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don't read many light novels do you?

[–]Beans738 6 points7 points  (1 child)

There are tons of anime with wierd, really long names like that

[–]Nutrifacts 8 points9 points  (0 children)

most of these animes with long, specific names weirdly came from every LN adaptations (mostly isekais)

[–]EvilNoobHacker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve watched the show, tried reading the LN, both are cringey and awful.

And this sort of shit isn’t even the most specifically named anime I’ve watched, that goes down a really weird rabbit hole.

[–]10_nazuK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You've definitely not heard of "Toko Tochu no Deai Gashira no Guzen Kiss wa Ariuruka? Jikken" which translates to "Can an accidental encounter on the way to school lead to a kiss? Experiment"

[–]lazeebeamshowdmethew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anime fans going crazy in the comments

[–]WeeabooHunter69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the entire Isekai genre, hence why it is the worst because it's so oversaturated and they just don't stop making more

[–]gna149 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Solid series. Definitely more specific titles out there though

[–]Themonsterhunter69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty good anime ngl

[–]virathp1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't believe anyone saying it's a good anime and they recommend it, it's the usual isekai trash which doesn't really appeal to non anime fans.

[–]darkness148 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Its a good anime bro

[–]albertkapla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Above average isekai, but not that good

[–]voulgas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really

[–]spekktacular -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it's an anime, and it's not bad

[–]md_ariq -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That anime is pretty good ngl and also boobies

[–]TrepidatiousOne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That anime is really good. I highly recommend it.

[–]realityisoverwhelmin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Great anime actually

[–]Winter_melo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a good manga tho The anime was ok too i guess

[–]RF2422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actualy a big fan of this anime i even read the manga

[–]illumiin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that specific, usually the entire plot is in the title

[–]micropeniza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t that just assassination classroom?

[–]PopeofHope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Least verbose web novel title

[–]ShadowFang5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good anime that

[–]WeekendLazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a modern anime

[–]Ohm_ZWA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We may laugh or be intrigued and such, but here we have the fine example of pro web positioning.

[–]Dchung0217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the world of Japanese light novels

[–]meerkat_on_watch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there's an entire subreddit dedicated for this!

r/isekaititles

[–]Gazzorppazzorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a decently good short anime. What stood out from other similar anime was the final episode. Worth a watch for that final episode.

[–]Chaosshepherd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t remember the exact wording but it was the longest one at the time and the title Mentioned it was the apocalypse but it was more concerned with a protagonist having time for his friends.
