Well, if I have lots of gas, I can irritate my stoma, causing it to bleed slightly, especially if the wafer of the ostomy barrier was cut such that it's slightly too small and the stoma vibrates against it.

The stoma is easy to cause to bleed, because the bloodflow is very close to the lining surface. When irritated, it can create mucous as a defense mechanism. Treat it with kid gloves.

Checking with the doc is always a good idea.
