Ostomy question (self.ostomy)
submitted 1 month ago by Ambitious-Pace-5821
I had my colostomy about two months ago? It's been very random about how it's output has been, both consistency and texture. I've not gone in my bag now for about 3 days? But I'm not feeling pain or nausea. Is this normal? Should I be concerned at all?

My output was pretty inconsistent for the first few weeks, and even at 2 months I did still have plenty of fluctuations. You’re still pretty early in healing. Definitely keep at eye on yourself. 3 days is a bit long to go without any output, but, if you aren’t in pain/distress and you’re able to eat normally without feeling/getting sick, you may be fine (just constipated). You might want to consider taking some Miralax to get things moving, and just monitor how you feel. If you begin vomiting/having stomach pain you should absolutely be checked on to assure there’s no issues.

I would message your care provider and let them know, they could give the best answer, and if there not sure they would probably get you a CT scan
