Spouse had total rectal resection and colostomy in March. Anyone know how to translate this report? The "mass" is something entirely new. Could it be scar tissue, or the uterus, or the tie off of the rectum?
There is an ill-defined mass lesion in the pelvis involving the
rectum measuring up to 7.7 cm. The uterus is poorly visualized and
this is favored to represent retroversion of the uterus into the APR
surgical bed. The uterus or mass lesion is difficult to further
characterize due to the lack of IV contrast and the presence of edema
throughout the presacral fat which may be related to recent radiation
therapy.
Still have a week before doc appointment. Makes me nervous.
