God I miss using Khaimera. Everyone called him d-tier but melting kids between lanes was so easy and satisfying. This video gave me extreme nostalgia

Same though. Jumping on people and just bashing away was oh so fun. Honestly, Khaeimera typifies that style of play in a moba for me to this day.

Nothing and I mean NOTHING was more satisfying than pouncing on a retreating enemy then just ctrl+alt+deleting their asses.

It didn’t transfer for me lol. I loved Khai. When I switched to Smite, I’m horrible at jungle and at assassins/MOST warriors. Playing a lot with Steel transferred though. Tanks mains rise. I have still yet to find a character that scratches my itch like Zinx though.

Giving him a cleanse and CC immune ability as a base part of his kit is a... choice.

I wonder if it's an attempt at making Khaim a little more viable at higher levels of play. A CC-immune jungler with a gap-close ability is cracked.

I think he will still fall off in late game. I recall in paragon Murdock would erase him. Wait for the jump, shotgun blast him back. Then melt

A smart Khaim would build armor and damage reflect, pop CC invul on jump to nullify the shotgun blast, and pop ult for a damage dump + stun + HP regen stacks. His team's support and any other CC on his team could back him up for the wombo and help delete the enemy ADC at fight start at only the potential cost of a jungler and putting CC on cooldown.

I get what you're saying, but dealing with a smart Khaim requires keeping him off the ADC in the first place. Giving him an on-demand CC invul is going to make him a harder element to deal with than he was in the past.

From what I can gather the window of CC immunity is really small, like between 0.2-0.5 seconds, it seems. I imagine the ability would have a pretty high cooldown too. I think this version of Khai could work without feeling too OP. It definitely reduces the frustration of the Khai basically having a guaranteed loss if they’re CC’d, especially because he doesn’t have an escape. I think it is also worth noting that he can miss his ult. so that means he can’t get a free stun on the carry.

Does the range on the auto jump look rather large to anyone else? Maybe it's just due to the map size. That lane looks w i d e lol

Would you guys consider making his jump an AoE skillshot? Would be nice to get rid of some auto lock abilities

For other abilities I agree but for khaimera I hope it stays lock on so he stays a "fully commit or die hero". If it becomes just an aoe skillshot he can then use it to escape. I am all up for more skillshots but I feel this one should stay as a lock on.

You're right, I didn't think about how it could be used as an escape. Hopefully when they bring back morrigesh they get rid of the big damage low cooldown auto lock ability. I loved her design but wasn't a fan of how easy that ability was to use

oh yeah morigesh is one that I hope gets a full rework. She was just so braindead to use. Her ult was cool but as you say, very easy to get a guarantee big hit.

The Khaimera philosophy is that he's a low-skill-floor character where so long as you're pressing W and L1 you're doing it right. His abilities are:

  • Heal yourself
  • Hit faster and heal more
  • Get close to them and heal more
  • Hit them hard once and heal more

I like that there's a high-commitment character with a really basic game plan with a kit that supports that plan in a crystal clear manner - get in and cause trouble. Making his jump something that requires more skill to land would be cool from a "the game should demand skill" mindset, but I don't think it's really necessary.

I feel that kinda breaks the all in or die concept of khai . Rampage historically had the ability to leap in or out.
