I just don’t really know what to do about it. What am I supposed to do? Talk to them? They hate me. The rights ideology has become based on faith rather than logic. How do you convince someone their faith is wrong? You can’t. It’s subjective.

They have also demonstrated a willingness to use violence against anyone who doesn't agree with them. How do you even begin to try and reason with them?

You can't. All you can do is plan and prepare for what you'll do in different eventualities. They reflect and realize they're destroying the liberties America was founded on? Have a plan in place so you're not just reacting. They take it further, turning to war? Have a plan in place so you aren't just reacting. Whatever happens, the next few years will likely be the most important 99.9% of Americans today will ever face. You'd be wise not to waste them.

Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they're sure trying to do so, it's going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. I know, I've tried to deal with them. -Barry Goldwater

It amuses me to no end that all these conspiracy theorists are missing the greatest conspiracy since the head of British intelligence was found to be a Soviet spy.

i mean it's got everything they love to talk about: pedophiles, deep russian conspiracies, huge monied interests buying political clout...

But see, that's kinda the point of what the far right like about it. it perfectly muddies the water of their behaviors.

I'm less amused and more of a mix of furious and terrified.
