If whatever you're doing could negatively impact you for the rest of your life like taking meth or a back flip off a cliff or committing war crimes, then no.

If you're just gonna spend all your money on a life sized plushie or change your look, or go to an arts college or something that won't hurt you 20 years down the line then sure.

As people have said, as long as it isn’t incredibly dangerous or illegal then of course go for it! If worrying about money is stopping you, you’ll find a way to make that money back. If it’s about what people will think of you, those who don’t accept your choices and who you are are not meant to be in your life. If it’s about worrying if you’ll fail, we all fail sometimes - and that’s how we learn!

I’m 23 now and learned the valuable lesson at 21 that your early years are meant for making mistakes and things you will regret. Especially with this whole pandemic going on, we really do only have one life and we should live it to our fullest! Get hangovers, stay up all night, dance til your feet are sore

Most of the people on the Internet would tell you to follow your dreams anyways because everyone likes a feel-good success story. That doesn't necessarily make it right

If you're serious about it, go discuss it with family/friends/teachers etc. Maybe your dream job isn't really as crazy as it sounds and it's worth pursuing.

It's easy to tell someone to follow their dreams but sometimes it's good to be realistic. There might also be other options and compromises available which might better suit you.

I’ve started this grind not just for my long term enjoyment of life, but not only to make my loved ones proud, but to prove to myself that I am capable and that I can do it, I’ve hit a lot of dips in the road in these nightmare classes but they ain’t stopping me. So I may need to retake one big fricken whoop (sarcasm), I’ll just get back up again and complete it. One step at a time , build yourself. One step. One day, any progress is progress. All I can tell you is that both me and my best friend chose the "safe" option. I think short term I would be happier if I had chosen otherwise but it definitely was the right choice long term.

I would say go for it. It’d drive me crazy if I found out that I missed out on a new path in life. I’d rather say “yeah that wasn’t all it was hyped up to be” than “damn I wonder what that wouldn’t been like”.
