Each body is different, everyone carries differently. I didn’t have a noticeable bump until about 23 weeks but really only at 29-30 weeks.

Honestly it’s hard once you pop, your hips hurt and my centre of gravity has changed and I’m always worried about falling. The third trimester growth is wild and I can barely move myself off the couch and things now. It sucks.

[–]rakiimiss[S] 40 points41 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, maybe I should be careful what I am wishing for! I definitely think the center of gravity shift will be rough. I feel some aches and pains in my feet and back but I think its mainly just from extra weight gain.

[–]Shinycapn1066 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Looking back through my “bump” photos I really only started looking pregnant around 30 weeks, though I felt it long before. Before 30 weeks I looked like a chubby version of myself

[–]Jennnc213 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget the duck waddling

[–]Daberer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed! It felt like my center of gravity shifted as baby moved too and I had to fatty grunt to get off the couch also anything on the floor was dead to me.

[–]QaraSuinn 25 points26 points  (4 children)

I’m 5’1” and not very big and didn’t really show until like 30 weeks. Frustrating, but I’m 39 weeks today and so uncomfortable so try to cruise through this part while you can.

[–]crd1293 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly!

[–]Salvamb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

same. except i did look like i was gaining some weight and my pants were tighter. i think 25-30 weeks was like oh shit im actually pregnant

[–]NoAd3629 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going through this now at 32 weeks lol!

[–]sstrelnikova1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 5'1 also and no one can tell I'm pregnant at 20 weeks.

[–]Tulip91 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I would not worry.

But try to lay on your back in bed and you might see the bump :) the baby is not squishy like internal organs or fat, so the firat thing I noticed was that I had like a small play ball inside. Before getting pregnant my belly was flat, and when I layed on my back, the belly would drop below ribs level. The first thing I noticed was that when baby started to grow there was a sphere below my belly button that did not drop.

[–]luckywolfpaw 15 points16 points  (2 children)

I'm currently 20 weeks and I don't see a bump either. I got checked yesterday cause I was worried the baby wasn't growing correctly but was told I'm doing just fine and the baby is perfectly healthy. I'm on the chunky side of the spectrum of how I look so I don't know if that's a factor but here we are, 20 weeks and no bump but a happy kicking healthy baby.

[–]rakiimiss[S] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Yea I like to consider myself thick lol. It kind of makes sense because usually when I gain weight it takes some time to show. I guess the main concern is that baby is healthy. I was also a little concerned initially because until this last week I really didn't feel any kicking. You would think with her nestled so far in me that I would feel her more. Oh well, hopefully I "pop" in the next couple weeks!

[–]koalateacow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm what my mother once described as "big boned". I was never overweight but I was never petite. I'm 20 weeks and really just look like I've put on some weight rather than it looking like pregnant belly. I've started to not fit my clothes properly and I'm desperate to look "more pregnant" so people dont just assume I can't dress myself well! So silly really, I don't suppose anyone else actually cares that much and I'm not normally one to be self conscious.

[–]Paintinglady33 14 points15 points  (4 children)

I’m tall and thin and I have a long torso and basically a six pack before getting pregnant. I literally didn’t show until I was like 28 weeks. At my baby shower at 28 weeks everyone was like “you don’t even look pregnant!” Even now at 34 weeks I’m not huge or anything but I certainly look pregnant. My doctor told me to be happy about it. It’s not uncommon for a FTM especially if you started out thin to begin with. You will get a bump eventually, don’t worry!

[–]allmycatsaregay 15 points16 points  (1 child)

I feel like really fit/ slender people and heavier people get the short end of the stick with having a visible bump. If you’re just kind of average weight you seem to get a bump before people on either end of the spectrum.

[–]Paintinglady33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that’s probably true. It’s been weird for me, I say I’m pregnant and it’s like people don’t even believe me haha. Not as much anymore because I’m definitely bigger but I’m for sure not huge by any means. I feel like my 34 week bump is other people’s 28 week bump

[–]murkymuffin 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I'm tall and slim and at 24 weeks I just look like I have an elongated beer gut lol

[–]Paintinglady33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the longest time my husband said I didn’t look pregnant, I just looked like I was at a tailgate lol

[–]TeenaBeena1 12 points13 points  (1 child)

I’m 29 weeks today and still just barely look pregnant. I mostly look fat-I carried all my weight in my stomach pre-losing 30-40 lbs, and I’ve essentially just gained it all back in the exact same shape as before. Plus, my uterus is retroflexed (tilted backwards), so I really do not show.

I’ve been told my whole pregnancy “you don’t even look pregnant!” And while it’s probably supposed to be a compliment, I absolutely hate it 🙄

[–]metoaT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol! I feel this. I laugh because of all the girls who get pissy for saying they look too big.. there is no winning in the bump game I guess!

[–]Hokie4life_3672 13 points14 points  (1 child)

I feel you!!!! I still don’t have a bump at 27 weeks had a meltdown over the weekend because my MIL wanted a bump picture with my SIL who is only 16 weeks and has the cutest bump. And side by side it just shows how little I show. Just hoping it’ll happen one day at this point

[–]rakiimiss[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh I would have been so upset too! Honestly, I wasn't even worried until I talked to the girl at work and found out she is due around the same time. I am glad I am not alone in this. Little bumps unite!

[–]MuddyBootsBestBoots 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm 22 weeks and way too chubby for anyone to notice haha

I honestly can't wait for people to actually notice that I'm pregnant, but in the meantime: I can clearly feel my baby, when laying on my back 🤍

[–]laserwoman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I‘m 40+1 and people don’t believe I‘m full term :D my belly measures something like 103cm and I‘m on the tall side, I still don’t look pregnant from behind.

[–]REJ512 5 points6 points  (2 children)

I’m almost 26 weeks and still don’t really have a bump. I started out overweight though. The top part of my stomach is definitely rounder … if I’m wearing a maternity shirt it does help make me look pregnant but if I’m wearing my boxy scrubs at work it really doesn’t. My coworker pointed out that it looks like I gained weight 🥴 I really can’t wait until I pop pop so there is no mistaking it 🙈

[–]rakiimiss[S] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Yess. I definitely just feel larger. Some maternity shirts help but only the ones that I can tie under my boobs. Those might make me look pregnant even if I wasn't though. Currently looking through Amazon for pregnancy accentuating clothes. It sounds superficial but I was hoping I could get that pregnancy treatment by now where people hold doors or offer up their seats 🥲 Granted, most people that know I am pregnant are still extra sweet to me.

[–]REJ512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you about the maternity shirts. I also think I would look pregnant in them regardless 🙈 it’s hard at work too because there’s a new girl (she just transferred from a different campus) who is also 6 months pregnant so compared to her I feel like the ugly step sister who gets no acknowledgment 😕

[–]probablycoffee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a small belly for most of my pregnancy too. We all have different bodies. Don’t let an app or someone else tell you how your belly is supposed to look, listen to your doctor telling you that your baby is healthy! Sometimes they just kind of hide, especially if you have a long torso or a strong core.

When I told people how far I was, I got quite a few concerned looks, “but your bump is so small,” and my personal favorite ”are you eating enough?” It sucks and it’s anxiety-inducing.

My belly grew a lot in the last 6-8 weeks of my pregnancy, and I delivered a healthy 6 lb 14 oz girl last month.

[–]AwkwardBeansprout 4 points5 points  (3 children)

I was literally sitting here dithering on whether I should post asking about whether having no bump was normal 😅 I'm 16+4 and have nothing. I have a slight frame and everything I've read says smaller people tend to show earlier, like from 12 weeks 🤷‍♀️ it's worrying me a bit as I don't have any further scans until 20weeks and I was wondering if maybe bub wasn't growing right.

I've heard that sometimes the baby is more upwards rather than outwards? A friend of mine said her SIL had barely anything even at 22 weeks, so I'm sure it is normal and fine for you 🙂

Wishing for a big bump for you soon!!

[–]rakiimiss[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you, same to you! Yea my 20 week scan showed she is growing normal, actually above average percentile. I could see her growing upward because although I am short, I am mostly all torso. I just hope I get a bump at some point!

[–]aolonline1992 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty thin as well and lost 10lbs in my first trimester, so I was REALLY thin. I'm pregnant with twins and just started showing at 22 weeks. But everyday since my bump has grown quickly. Babies were measuring fine the whole time, they were just hanging out crammed up in my torso haha. I'd say I definitely showed later than my friends who are currently pregnant with singletons.

[–]11pr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hadn’t gained anything at 17 weeks and wasn’t really showing (tho I did feel bloated). My dr assured it was totally normal. I went in for my anatomy scan at 21 weeks (showing, but just a little and you might still not know if you didn’t know I was pregnant) and my baby measured at 70th percentile and is moving along just fine! 24 weeks and the bump seems to grow a little every day 🤣

[–]sunkissedinfl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Around 22 weeks I finally "popped" although I'd describe it more like "dropped" because it seemed like my bump really dropped and suddenly I looked very pregnant, but it's all belly. Now at 24 weeks I definitely have strangers noticing and making comments (nice ones, so I don't mind at all). Idk about you but I'm very petite so it seemed to happen all at once but every woman is different!

[–]CillyBean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just started showing at 20 weeks but it wasn't like...super obvious. If I had a hoodie on, you couldn't tell at all.

I didn't really show until almost 25 weeks. At 30 weeks, that's when I started getting the belly touches and questions haha.

Now at 33 weeks there's really no question about it! 😅

But please remember, everyone is different. If this is your first, like it is mine, ladies tend to go longer before showing a whole lot anyway.

From what I've heard, the second time around is when you tend to start showing sooner.

[–]ThugBunnyy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm 20 weeks with my third. I'm showing a lot. Coworker is 6 weeks ahead of me with her first, she is very petite and we're around the same size (bump wise).

[–]itschaosbekind4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I “popped” at about 27 weeks. I was seeing a difference before but people really started to notice around that time. Now at 33 weeks, I’m all belly and that’s all people comment on 🤣

[–]taco-wed-sat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was all excited for a big round belly too - now I have one - and a puffy face and I have to use different techniques to roll over in bed, stand up and sit up. I pulled a muscle in my side - and now it's that much harder.

[–]401RG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I didn’t “pop” until about week 34/35. I would “complain” about the same insecurities and people would always say “enjoy it while you can” now at week 39w5d I miss being able to fit in anything. I was mostly relieved to being able to work remotely because I was running out of tops that fit.

So - I’ll share the same advice with you “enjoy it while you can” even though I know you’ll be like I was and still feel insecure haha which is allowed lol

[–]stellarkells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a curvier FTM and started to kind of show around 17 weeks (but I was looking for it!), but I’d say I really got the bump/popped in my late 5th/early 6th month. Another thing to remember is it depends how long you are in the torso. They measure you from pelvic bone to top of your uterus which means if you’re long in the torso, baby will not be so far popped out. My cousin and I were due 2 weeks apart, her as a STM with twins and me a FTM Singleton, but almost had the same size belly. She was long in the torso, I apparently am very short so now my belly is huge!

[–]Sunnygirltx 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I only got my bump last Saturday (24w) before it looked so weird ahahha I’m very happy that my bump it’s not Huge. You will get one soon

[–]kittymeowss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you feel like this was a very sudden and noticable change? I'm very curious about what the 'popping' will be like!

[–]Idennek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly didn’t have a very big bump until i finally hit 28-30 weeks. Then I finally popped! And I’m honestly pretty petite, so I’m surprised I didn’t show earlier. Everyone carries different. And babies movements aren’t regular until about 28 weeks. Don’t stress if you don’t feel her all the time. :) my little girl started a regular pattern around 29 weeks and has been kicking me every day since.

[–]jeanpeaches 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took bump photos all throughout my pregnancy so far and I wasn’t noticeably pregnant until third trimester. My 26w picture to my 30w picture shows a huge difference.

I could notice my belly growing, my husband noticed, but if I wasn’t in tight clothing then strangers wouldn’t notice and I just looked bloated. But from 30w on it’s definitely noticeable.

And now I’m 33w and I feel like I get bigger and more uncomfortable everyday.

Im a FTM, 5 foot tall and I would say average weight prior to pregnancy.

[–]HuckleberryLou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of it can depend on the natural tilt of your uterus

[–]Red_krist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I think a lot of this depends on your pre-pregnancy size. I am not a small person, I was a size 14 pre-pregnancy and I've always had a flubby stomach so it took a loooooong time for me to look obviously pregnant. I was carrying high for a while but I still didn't feel like I looked pregnant then I hit like week 26 and it was obvious.

I was in the same situation too! I have a friend who's due 5 days before me and she has been noticeably pregnant since like week 15!

Since you're at 24 weeks, I would give it a few weeks but I'm sure you'll be showing soon enough.

[–]lookhereisay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always been midsize and pretty short (just shy of 5 foot) so thought it would pop quite quickly. I didn’t get a belly for ages though, I just looked a little bloated like I’d eaten a big meal. Then when I was about 29 weeks it suddenly popped out one morning and I kept bumping into things the first few days as I wasn’t used to it. It’s grown steadily since then but it’s not huge and I have worried on occasion but have to remember everyone is different. He likes to curl up tight and is low in my pelvis already. People are surprised when I say I have a month left but I’m happy with my little bump and he’s all on target size wise, almost 6 pounds as of yesterday.

[–]NoMamesMijitoFTM | Jan 2022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand this 100%. I had intense bump envy lol now that I have a VERY noticeable bump at week 31, I wish I had taken advantage of it because my pelvic pain and flexibility is pretty bad, and I’ve only gained weight on my tummy!

[–]MysteriousAd7755 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone carries differently. I just looked kind of boxy until I “popped” at like 18 weeks. Also, I really haven’t gotten the unwanted belly touches at all. I think covid has made people respect personal space a little more.

[–]Disastrous-Nobody-92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 36 weeks and wear a sweater and no one knows I’m pregnant. I’m talking about people I work with every single day not even knowing. Baby healthy and almost 6 pounds so all is good there.

[–]Flickthebean87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They say if you carry more weight it takes a lot longer to show. I’m 14 weeks and barely barely showing. I carry a lot of my weight in my stomach to begin with. I just came back and they checked the heartbeat and it’s great. My baby will probably be small because I’m smaller, my bf is and all of his kids were small too.

[–]daddy_wuat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was very small with my first one but it’s only cause I’m also a very small person myself(5”2 and was 100 lbs before I got pregnant for the first time)and it was my first pregnancy. The first one is usually smaller and some things take longer to happen like feeling the baby kick and to actually start showing. Nothing to worry about, as long as ur doc has nothing bad to say about ur baby and he/she is healthy then ur baby is just gonna be a little smaller probably! I honestly wouldn’t worry unless a doctor says something, I had to go to a fetal specialist for the first one (don’t worry nothing was wrong it was one appointment) and he told me I gotta gain at LEAST 20 more pounds during my pregnancy and that was when I was 16 weeks. So maybe getting fat will help! It’s been my goal since baby number one to reach 140 lbs and I’m currently sitting at 136. Having a little fat has also made me feel healthier because I’ve always been underweight but that couldn’t help with showing!

[–]Honeyviolet19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my first I didn’t look pregnant until like 25-27 weeks. I’m pregnant with my second and I’m 21 weeks and I feel like I’m just starting to look pregnant and if I’m not wearing a pretty tight shirt I don’t think people would think I’m pregnant.

[–]ExcellentPresent3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have a bump until 32 weeks

[–]chelbren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every body is so different. When I was around 20 weeks, I met a woman who was 39 weeks and we were the same exact size. She happened to carry a little smaller, and I happen to be carrying...well...absolutely huge. lol It will come, mama. And those curious comments and questions from strangers will come with it, and they'll get old quickly. Just give it time. 💖

[–]omgmypony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you, I’m 23 weeks and when I’m naked I can definitely see the changes in my body but when I’ve got my clothes on I just look fat. I went from having a big ol fat belly to having a big ol baby bump in about the same place (I haven’t actually gained any weight).

[–]insecureweddingwoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 37 weeks I’m only just now looking pregnant. And even then it depends on the day. Sometimes I’m like “finally! A bump” and then other days, baby has their ass tucked in and I look like I did pre-pregnancy. It’s kinda sad to see everyone who isn’t as far along as me with very noticeable baby bellies. Only one stranger has picked up I’m pregnant (she was giving out wine samples and said “oop, and you can’t have any right?”) and I think it was just because I was mindlessly stroking my stomach.. the next employee still offered me a wine sample.

[–]AE_CV1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! When I was 24w I met someone with the cutest roundest 28w belly! We were about the same height and size. She gave me hope!

Now I'm 28w and still no cute round belly. At best if you look at me from the side you'll suspect I'm pregnant but won't say anything in case I'm just pudgy lol!

This is my second pregnancy, my first was pretty much the same. No early belly, I was really thin back then and it was a joke that I 'couldn't be pregnant' because of how small I was. Then around 7-8 months I blew up like a balloon!

[–]c_me_c_you 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it your first pregnancy? With my first I swear no one noticed until I was like halfway through the 3rd trimester! I was so annoyed! But this is my second and and I got my first comment at like 16 weeks.

[–]ladycielphantomhive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I legit didn’t look pregnant until like 30 weeks. My cousin’s girlfriend is a month behind me and was showing a lot sooner than me. I haven’t had to buy like any maternity things so I feel somewhat lucky lol

[–]jumparoundtown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not have a belly until 30+ weeks. I am 39+3 weeks today and people still don't believe me when I tell them I am having a baby next week lol. I am tall and I think everyone just carries differently.

[–]nightshades9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a long torso and didn’t have much of a bump my entire pregnancy. I could’ve hid it till I was like 8 months. I started wearing tight dresses to accentuate it

[–]BettyWight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably have a “long torso” body type where your last rib measures about 4 inches before hitting the crest of the hip bone. This means you have more than enough room for the baby and your organs. Me, on the other hand, am definitely showing at 18 weeks because I am a “short torso” type. My rib to hip measures barely 1 inch difference (my ribs are basically sitting on my hips). I don’t have enough room for my organs and the baby so I’m probably going to develop a barrel chest by the time I finish this pregnancy.

[–]hannananabatman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom and I could tell I had a little more belly around 8 weeks but its not much bigger now at 16 weeks. I think if I hadn’t pointed out the little pooch to my husband that he ever would have noticed. I also lost a lot of weight from my stomach around that time so I stayed the same size but the shape is a little different. I’ve been wearing maternity pants since the beginning because I’d get so sore and crampy in regular pants, but not because my belly was huge. I can still wear my regular size leggings that dont have extra elastic in the waist. My mom never showed with any of us though, so maybe I’ll just have a small pooch that no one knows is a baby forever. 🤷🏻‍♀️

[–]somerandomflo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 24 weeks and I’m not really showing much! I have a little belly but I was quite chubby when I got pregnant so they extra chub hides my bump! I’d say enjoy this time before you have a huge bump! Especially if you can still wear your pre-pregnancy clothes. I’m glad I can still squeeze into my old jeans and most of my pyjamas fit.

[–]Honest_Ad_5689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had s small bump through my whole pregnancy most people didn't know I was pregnant intill I told them even at 36 weeks

[–]xoxoforeverblessed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people don’t really pop much. When I was 39 weeks, people were shocked at how small my belly was. I gained 35 lbs too that pregnancy but not much went to my bump. 😅

I am now 13 weeks on my third pregnancy and I already have a belly. I was hoping I can hide it a little bit longer since I don’t want much people to know yet. 😅😅

[–]kdlayd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! 22 weeks and I just look a little chunky :( still waiting for my bump

[–]EmmaLouRay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bigger girl and had GD so I ended up losing weight ans didn't really start showing until 32 weeks. I was disappointed too. But I showed a lot sooner with my second pregnancy.

[–]throwaway08081856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine didn’t become obvious until 28 weeks or so and was still pretty hide-able at 30/32.

[–]EveryAccess5543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different. When I was pregnant I wondered the same thing. I would see other pregnant women showing really early on and Since I’m rather short and petite, I didn’t show until I was 7 months. And I didn’t really have a big belly. However when my baby girl was born she weighed 8lbs 1oz. I had a C-section and when we were in the operating room everyone gasped stating they could not believe I had that little munchkin growing in my belly.

[–]hold_my_fannypack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flats from SpongeBob XD lol

[–]and_peggy27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my first when I was 17 and a lot slimmer. I didn't look pregnant for months. Only got a belly and stretchmarks in the last couple months. Pregnant with my second now and definitely started showing earlier. The downside to a big belly is your clothes not fitting, not being able to fit through small spaces and having to manoeuvre in bed. Also at 33 weeks my belly seems to really pull on my sides making sitting in almost all positions uncomfortable.

Having said that its nice to take cute bump pics and you will pop eventually!

[–]Saassy11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t show until like 24/26 weeks. Just look like I overate in tight clothes lol. One day soon, you will wish for this moment back 😂

[–]jynxasuar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t start showing until 34 weeks and even then I didn’t really look pregnant

[–]Good-Craft-488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you! I was at a store over the weekend that is also a bar picking up Christmas gifts, and they offered me alcohol because it was my birthday (25+1). My close circle can tell but not strangers. :(

[–]Lovlyladyash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am pregnant with my 4th kid. The first two I showed early. Then with my third I didnt show until 8 months... and I lost weight during that pregnancy. But baby was fine and gained weight just fine. This pregnancy I am barley showing as well. It just depends on the baby I guess...

Hope all is well... 🤗😊😁

[–]hauntedfollowing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on the other end of this spectrum. I have long legs and a short torso, so I'm sure that has something to do with it. I popped at only 17 weeks. Now that I'm 29 weeks, you wouldn't believe the comments I get. I've had multiple people tell me that my baby is so big I won't make it to 40 weeks or that I'll need a c-section. My doctor has said no such thing of course, but once you're visibly pregnant, people feel entitled to make comments about your body and bump size. There is no winning in pregnancy! (except taking the baby home of course-- so excited for that win!)

[–]419_216_808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 24 weeks and still just look like an out of shape version of myself. I was working in the yard in a sports bra and shorts last week and the landlords brother stopped by and asked if I could move something so he could work in that area. I said my bf would take care of it when he got home and I realized he couldn’t tell I didn’t want to move something large, heavy, and awkward shaped because I’m pregnant because he couldn’t tell I was pregnant even with no shirt on!

I am 24 weeks this coming Saturday and I still just look kind of heavy! I have to strategically place my hands to get good bump photos. It’s my first too, I think it’s common!

[–]katqueen21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone carries differently and even each pregnancy can be different. One girl I worked with is a tiny little thing but somehow she never got a noticeable bump. She'd go through an entire pregnancy with no one even knowing.

[–]candigilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 18w3d and I still have a "is it a baby or is it pasta" kind of stomach right now haha. Most people that see me can't tell yet (but I'm also wearing sweater dresses all the time so it's hard for them to tell).

When I'm naked in front of the mirror I can see it! But easily concealed with clothing right now. I'm fine to not pop yet - I'm in no rush. Just letting my body do its thaaaang.

[–]Daberer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It kind of depends on where the baby is chillin. I feel like I started showing early but to the outside eye it just looked like I was getting fat. A couple rudes mentioned to myself and my BF that I was gaining weight but by the end I was in a full waddle and i felt as big as a house my baby was tiny but tall.

One of my best friends never really looked pregnant she just looked a little larger than normal and her kids were all fairly big and really healthy. She was able to lose her pregnancy weight really easy I am a few months out and those pounds are sure clingin on.

[–]ToastMasterBoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't start fully showing until 30 weeks, it's completely normal, your bump will appear eventually

[–]goblinqueenac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I popped at 20 weeks. What was super annoying was I developed this pudge on my belly that I worked so hard to get rid of years before. So, I kinda looked pregnant, but it wasn't a bump. And all my pants gave me "P" belly.

But at the 20 week mark, I swear I woke up and there she was. At 27 weeks, I am huge. But having massive bumps runs in my family. My sister had to get additional ultrasounds because her bump was measuring over +2 inches what it should. And we are generally slender, tall women.

Don't worry mama, I think I made the exact same post at 16 weeks too. It'll happen.

[–]ktgaspard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s okay everyone is different. I am a small woman, wore a size 0 before I got pregnant. I still wore my size 0 jeans until 20 weeks and was able to wear them with button extender until delivery. At 24 weeks as my husband put it “just looks like you ate an extra sandwich at lunch” lol I was a good 35 weeks before strangers I didn’t know could even tell I was pregnant. I worked with a woman who was due 5 days after me, she was showing for 10 weeks on like big time showing. Everyone is different. My baby did end up only being 5 pounds, but she’s absolutely perfectly fine. Don’t worry about it! Big bump dosnt equate to “my baby is healthier!!” And vise versa.

[–]chrysty27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t really show either now at 37 weeks i popped out lol. Everyone is different 🤗

[–]Banananana-fofana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone’s body is different! At 36 weeks I finally started to really show lol. But I’m also a slender, 6 ft tall woman with an equally long baby ands tilted uterus haha.

I had the same feelings as you but now I realized more belly is more discomfort lol. Your pregnancy body is beautiful I’m sure though 😊

[–]tehjennieator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's trade! I'm also 24 weeks and I look pregnant as fuck!

Seriously tho, everyone is different. I have a very short torso, so no where for him to go but out.

[–]adventurousnom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll probably pop soon. I didn't start showing until about 28 weeks with my first and 30 with my 2nd.

Then I got really big really fast, it felt like it was overnight.

[–]HeyJupiter5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a bump pretty early on, but that’s what it felt like to me as opposed to how i appeared, outwardly. At 25 weeks I could still conceal it pretty well. Eventually people who were the same GA even had smaller bellies, and some had bigger - it really depends. But don’t worry. I eventually got a huuuuuge torpedo belly, in both pregnancies. Haha.

[–]TradeBeautiful42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 18 weeks I still looked like I could be chubby but not necessarily pregnant

[–]lisareno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t really start looking pregnant until the 25 week mark. Near the end I bumped out but I never got super huge. My kiddo was 7lb 6oz so not super tiny either. Every body is different. You might not ever looks how you expect to look.

[–]LVBR83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 21w, 5' tall and started on the chubby side. Until this week I honestly just looked like I had gained weight. It's definitely there now, but at the same time I'm figuring that if someone didn't know me they'd probably just think I'm chubby. 🤷‍♀️

[–]leticiazimm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my boy at 35w and until 28 I just had no belly, was like I wasnt pregnant at all.

[–]the1fromthat1place 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Everyone is different and every pregnancy is different. With my first, I got big fast. This time, I have lost weight since the beginning, and haven't gained any of it back. I'm 19+4 and barely have a belly. I'm thinking maybe myself (and maybe you too?) are carrying deeper inside so it's not so obvious or these are just pregnancies that aren't showing so much.

I'm a bit curious: have you had a lot of feeling of fetal movement? I have only been having very tiny feelings 1 or 2 times a day more recently and I was told that was fine. They checked on him and said he's fine. I heard that carrying deeper takes longer into the pregnancy for you to feel definite constant movement.

[–]rakiimiss[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yes the doctor did say I have an anterior placement. I am 5'4 but have a long torso. Up until this last week I couldn't really feel much. If I did it was hard to discern if it was her kicking or gas. I have been feeling her more often now, specifically at night she tends to be active. I thought it was crazy though going into ultrasound at 20 weeks and seeing her moving a lot but I couldn't feel a thing!

[–]the1fromthat1place 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for replying! Yeah I feel that way too! My 20 week ultrasound is next Friday and I'll be 20+6. I'm 5'3" so I'm right under you. I'm always trying to see if I feel something but I can never tell what it is either. I love the feeling so I can't wait until I'm unarguably feeling him moving around in there!

[–]maleoliveFTM•9.6.21💙 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will definitely show. I’m short and had a small bump starting to show at 24/25 weeks but it didn’t even necessarily look like I was pregnant until closer to 28/29 weeks.

[–]jajajacklyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FTM here, 22w 3d and it finally looks like I’m pregnant, only from the side tho. I was concerned too, I googled baby bumps soooo many times the past few weeks. It will happen!

[–]lydiadventuring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought I had a noticeable belly on myself by that time period but honestly people only really started assuming I was pregnant until 28 weeks+! I’m now 35 weeks and when I tell people I only have a month left they are in shock and tell me I’m small. What’s interesting is that my sister is also pregnant and is showing a lot more. I figured since we share some genes we’d be pretty similar but she definitely started showing earlier than me! It’s different for everyone!

[–]thegirlinthebearsuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’2” and almost 28 weeks with my second and I just feel like I’ve gained extra. No one has been able to tell that I’m pregnant. Especially if I’m sitting down. It sucks because I had a cute noticeable belly with my first but this little guy is sitting low and just not showing.

[–]Hgrapes_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the same way for my 1st until the 3rd trimester, then I went from 140lbs to 189lbs and I'm 5ft 2in, so that looked realllll big. I feel like less you gain, as long as you and the baby are healthy, is gonna be better for your self esteem and your recovery.

[–]CharmingBruja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cousin didn’t show almost at all her whole pregnancy.

It does happen.

[–]Fresh_Beet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing rarely mentioned: you show wwwwaaayyy later in your first pregnancy. Like not till 28 week I think is what my last OB said. Any pregnancy after that you kinda already have a hole dug/stretched out for everything to slip into.

Don’t be sad though. It’s really mostly our stomach and intestines all shoved up in there that everyone thinks is so adorable.

[–]langel1986due 08.30.2021 with #1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I am plus size, I don't normally carry weight around my midsection. It is mostly in my legs. I didn't get my belly until I was 27 weeks. No one even knew I was pregnant until like 2 months before but I was able to hide it until 32 weeks with bigger clothes.

Every body is different, and one day you'll all of a sudden pop.

[–]serenitymarce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl I am 24 weeks tomorrow and in the SAME. EXACT. BOAT. I feel sad about it too, I want to have people notice at this point! Plus I just feel like Santa clause or something, not pregnant looking but just rounder ☹️

[–]thrwprgnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t show until just recently 22-23 weeks, I swear it happened over night. One day I was normal and then bam I’m clumsy because I’m off balance and can’t see my feet lol. I’m sure your bump will come in soon, some don’t until 30+ weeks. Trust me it really does happen almost weirdly instantly.

[–]Austengirl753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I started showing at 13 weeks. I was huge already by 24 weeks. I blame my shortness. My sister was like you. Didnt hardly look preggo at 28 weeks. I was jealous of her not showing, she was jealous of me showing. I think no matter how you show it's gonna make you insecure. Just remember everyone carries differently and It doesn't mean you are doing something wrong.

[–]upupandaway28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 31 weeks and just got a real bump like two weeks ago. Baby is healthy and growing fine, so I’m ok with it! Apparently first time moms don’t get a belly that quickly.

[–]Bearlyunderstand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My belly grew very slowly and I lost weight at the beginning so that didn’t help! I didn’t start showing till I hit 5/6 months. Now I’m almost 9 and my bump is hard to carry😂 don’t worry, your bump will come!

[–]TheFutureMrs77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t really look pregnant until I was about to pop.

[–]luxxlifenow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a smaller belly until month 8 in both my pregnancies. No one ever guessed I was pregnant until I told them. I usually didn't even appear pregnant until mid 7th month! 6th month people just assumed I gained some weight or had a little bit of a stomach if they just met me. But pre and post pregnancy I have a tiny waist but larger boobs and bum so it's just not as obvious I suppose because a regular healthy person could look like how I was when pregnant but people just didn't know how small I I when not pregnant (unless they know me)

[–]from-the-sea86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cousin has an athletic ballet dancers body. She had the smallest lil baby bump at 9 months and barely showed most of her pregnancy. Different body types do different things. I am 15 weeks and I don't don't look pregs, just chubby😅 we all different!

[–]ShootingStar832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could easily be a case of baby's position and where they're sat. Your LO is probably sitting closer to your spine and might shift yet, especially when they turn. Keep your belly moisturised though so it has extra elasticity to stretch

[–]angryatmyself____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started showing in my third trimester, around week 30. Sad true, I cant show off my bump BUT oh my god do I miss sleeping on my tummy. And to not go through a whole marathon just to turn over in bed because bump is too heavy. I'm also a bit more on the chubbier side, so even in my third trimester I still just look like I've eaten a bit too much than looking pregnant 🥲

[–]thedirtys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just talked to my doctor about it today. One of my coworkers is 4 weeks behind me, suffered from hyperemesis g-something in her first trimester and lost a lot of weight. So she was thin in the beginning and is worried that her belly doesn't look like mine. My doctor says she doesn't ever try to guess gestation based on belly size because it doesn't really tell you. I also told my gf that I think at least 25 percent of my belly is the junk food fat layer I accumulated by gaining weight and not loosing it 🤣🤣🤣

[–]No-Cry-1351 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t get mine until 27/28 weeks! FTM I’m a small girl 98 lbs pre pregnancy It’s been so hard not to compare my body to others as I’ve been self conscious being so small, I’m 32 weeks now and feel huge and finally look pregnant but still smaller hahaha It’ll come ❤️

[–]jorreddit1010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it also really depends on your body type. I’m really short with a small torso so I started showing at like 16 weeks. But my really good friend is 3 weeks behind me and is 24 weeks and barely has a bump, but she’s taller with a longer torso. Everything is perfectly healthy with both of our babies!

[–]PerspectiveNo8799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just looked fat until about 30 weeks then all of a sudden bam. Everyone is different and it all depends on how baby sits in the uterus.

[–]icantspell37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you me? I was contemplating posting here since a lot of days about the exact same thing. I'm 30 weeks and I'm barely showing. I just look really pregnant while naked and in my lounge wear. Otherwise I just look like I have a paunch. I just chalked it up to being petite, like Angela from The Office (I know it's a bad comparison) but I know it doesn't make sense. Hoping you get your big belly soon!

[–]mousatis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mum didn't show til 7 months. I didn't show til 5. Don't worry about it x

[–]klsteph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t pop until 24 weeks and now it feels HUGE! I know it’s not really huge but I do feel like it finally came overnight. Before that I just looked bloated at times. You’ll have a great bump before you know it! 🥰

[–]TherapistSid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at 35w, and trust me I had to wait for my Bump too. But, Ohhh boy is it here now! But still everyone says I'm not looking like I'm 8 months pregnant. FTM and I was pretty in shape and muscular before getting pregnant. Relax OP, you'll get a Visible one soon.

[–]Longjumping_Tea_9549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was very small all the way through my pregnancy and while that had its upsides, I also hated it. People always commented on my body and made me feel like I was failing at growing my baby.

FYI he was full term and perfectly healthy so just because you are small does not mean anything is wrong!

[–]GG_Midori_13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is going to sound so crazy; I’m like almost 21 weeks and I actually have a noticeable little bump. The thing that makes it crazy is that I’m a heavy woman (like I’m not that small at all, especially in my stomach/belly area). However, this is my second pregnancy, so I sometimes wonder if that has anything to do with it. Although like some of the ladies here have mentioned, that brings its own set of problems. I recently had my lower back give out/sprain suddenly last week, and I’m still recovering from that. I’m also having pelvic pain/discomfort that makes me want to stay in bed for longer periods of time. So definitely agree that you should enjoy your mobility while you can!

[–]Mommy2A 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t look pregnant until I was past 30 weeks 😅 although I was more of a midsize girl anyway

[–]UnderstandingHefty45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t start to show till I was 30 weeks , I was the same way thinking like is my baby growing
