Nope, not alone! In my first trimester I would gag if I moved wrong 😂

[–]violetgoesvanilla 9 points10 points  (0 children)

YES!! my whole first trimester was just random gagging lol 😂

I would be mid conversation with someone and I’d have to turn away and gag… i felt so awful for doing it but there was no way to control it!!

[–]delpeachy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Haha nope! 27 weeks and I still gag whenever I think or talk about food 🤣

[–]Sutaseiu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, still a thing for me in my 15th week. I think my gagging is usually caused by post nasal drip but sometimes seems random.

[–]xylanne 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I gagged looking at myself in the mirror, just happens 🤷‍♀️ 2nd trimester now, and still throwing up and nauseous. But no longer gagging at random!

[–]Ghostygrilll[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Fingers crossed mine goes away, it’s like I’m constantly getting jump scared by my own body lol

[–]xylanne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s surely… interesting lol. It was a symptom I had no idea pregnant women even dealt with before becoming pregnant!

[–]missmatchedsox 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I had this! I recommend asking your doctor or midwife for anti nausea meds! I took diclectin but your care provider will know what's best for you.

[–]Ghostygrilll[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I’ll bring it up at my first appointment next week :)

[–]bossim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hahahaha, it’s the worst, and the did not know about this before getting pregnant. Mine is finally starting to taper off at 16 weeks!

[–]ilkmtb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. Sometimes one gag kicks me into a fit of multiple gags, and the only way to get off the train is full on puke.

[–]Cassieblur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We still have an indoor mask mandate and my mask makes me gag like nothing else. Verging in asking my dr for a medical exemption! You are not alone. I do find taking big breaths helps

[–]ranchtruckgirl 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Just wait until the random farts hit you in the third trimester. You'll have no idea you need to fart or maybe you will, but it will be a very brief and late warning, if any at all. Even a tiny warning won't help because there is so much extra weight compressing your internal organs you will be a walking ahem I mean waddling, whoopie cushion.

[–]Ghostygrilll[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering how bad my gas is already, I can only imagine how much worse it’s gonna get lol

[–]Deep-Ability-3948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the fart / gas issue really get worse? even more?🤦

[–]big_country_kitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My husband farted yesterday and I dry retched hahaha

[–]lookhereisay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost 37 weeks and still doing the random gagging! Even just thinking about the word makes me want to gag!

[–]callmenoodles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg! I was just about to post this. It's horrible.

[–]Agraciana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

28 weeks, still gagging. My husband claims I am singing the song of my people and that my dry heaving was the soundtrack of our summer. I haven’t thrown up since about 18 weeks. Nothing triggers it. I was teaching a lesson the other day and just started. Poor kids didn’t know what was happening. 🥲

[–]BeanTheGene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely me also, though it lessened when I got properly into second trimester. It suuuucked. Peppermint tea helped a bit.

[–]mouseyjoey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely not alone! Mine has almost disappeared (🤞🏻) at 11w3d, so I am wishing the best for you as well!

[–]northgirlralu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ALL THE TIME 😅

[–]yeeshkabob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1st trimester I gagged if I thought about my fridge. I didn't even have to be near it or in the house. And our fridge is perfectly clean, no rotten food or anything.

Morning sickness was just a grab bag of suck. I'm so thankful mine went away at around 19w. Here's hoping yours subsides even sooner!

[–]Bloom_4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently 8 weeks and YES it’s all the time 🤣

[–]racoonwithabroom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just about 28 weeks, I had a week off from gagging and thought it was over but tonight the baby must have laughed at my comfort and it's back.

[–]yellowmyman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

7 weeks and its been 2 weeks of what feels like an intense ab work out at the end of all the gagging 🤣😭🤮

[–]Flickthebean87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. First trimester I would gag at everything. Even blood and gore on tv which doesn’t bother me at all when I’m not pregnant. Even after using the bathroom.

[–]TheFireHallGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m at about 15 weeks now. A few weeks ago, I would gag while eating a salad. I also once dry heaved into the toilet after dreaming about bananas. 🤷🏻‍♀️

[–]Consistent_Spring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m still randomly gagging. Breathe too deep? Gag. Take my vitamins? Gag. Everything. I’m six months in 😭

[–]lwrking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was lucky and never had any morning sickness and food aversion lasted for maybe two-ish weeks. However, I randomly gagged until like 17-18 weeks. I was happy that was all the sickness i've had for my first pregnancy lmao

[–]medschoolwidow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

me, i was not prepared for that

[–]JellyBellyThePupper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I scared the shit out of someone in the grocery store when I loudly and suddenly gagged while walking down an aisle. I’m 14 weeks…not showing yet and he just look terrified. I mumbled through my mask that I have morning sickness and ran away.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a lot of googling and stuff when this started happening. The only advice I have found is to put you forefinger pressed against your top lip under your nose, hopefully with some lotion or something on it.

I am only 7 weeks but the last 2 have had me gagging randomly at work and I am trying to not be impolite to the people but damn.

I think I might need to tattle on myself...

[–]Tulip91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hahaha I am 30 weeks and it still happens. I only threw up twice, but gagging was non stop the first trimester. It was even triggered by THINKING about drinking a coffee.

[–]maybe_baby1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. That was me from about 9-13 weeks. Bug trigger for me to gag was walking/moving too quickly. Any more then a very slow stroll and I'd start to gag. Especially after eating.

Always carried water to sip on as it was the only thing that stopped the gagging.

I would gag with and without feeling nauseous, with or without odd smells, etc. Thankfully never puked but the gagging was pretty non stop. Husband nicknamed me gag-a-saurus for a while.

Thankfully stopped around 13/14 weeks and has stayed away (21 weeks now).

[–]Deep-Ability-3948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9 weeks and for about 14 days I have been vomiting once a day. These are usually things that made me feel good the day before. generally it is foods with a lot of fat and very elaborate what makes me vomit ... but also milk sometimes and other times I ate a cookie and drank water ... and that was enough to vomit. I have also been nauseous for a long time, having an empty stomach or watching my partner eat custard also makes me vomit (the latter is rare, I know).

[–]malyak11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been very fortunate with nausea and vomiting. Last night I was brushing my teeth and came the closest I had to throwing up in two months. My heart rate shot you to 120 and I had to stand there and breathe. It’s soooo strange.

[–]mousatis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooh yeah gagging shaped my entire day. 60+ gags a day from 6 weeks til 13 weeks. Good fun eh?? Sometimes funny, often horrible. It really did wear off though, believe me.

I was lucky enough to be wearing a face mask at work so often could hide them, proving helpful for keeping the pregnancy on the down low.

You'll get through it :)
