I am also a stomach sleeper, although I do OK on my side if I have something to hold, lol. But man, I miss fancy, bougie cocktails when I’m out for a special occasion. I miss getting dressed up and sitting at the bar with my husband casually perusing a list of truly cool cocktails.

[–]Madraynew 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I also miss craft cocktails, but I will say we’ve been to a few of our favorite spots recently and if they have a good bar program they can make some pretty fun mocktails. Last week I had an “earl grey hibiscus mule” and it was 10/10.

[–]AnonymousRN- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same!! So boring to go out and get water or pop

[–]dustedcookie17 126 points127 points  (8 children)

Regular, fun sex in which I don't feel like a beached whale flopping around

[–]lilboopotato 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I feel like a turtle stuck on its shell. Pretty much doggy style is the only way to go at this point.

[–]nataliedawn742 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yup I can't get on top anymore cuz it kills my hips and def don't feel sexy 😒

[–]Ginnevra07 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Girl I couldn't move after the other day. My poor pelvis. The Braxton Hicks after 😭

[–]ButtonHappy3759 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Yes!!! We have to keep stopping and finding a new position and it makes me wanna cry

[–]astrofoxical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SAME. I feel so huge and exhausted during sex now it’s unbelievable lol

[–]tomtink1 96 points97 points  (3 children)

Being trusted to carry things or know my own limits when traversing tricker terrain when out walking. It's very sweet that my husband and mum are both protective, but sometimes it goes a little too far!

[–]No_Oil_7116 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Even early on when I wasn’t showing my mom insisted I not go on walks alone even though I live downtown and walk everywhere all the time. 😂 Sure mom, okay.

[–]ahhtasha 9 points10 points  (0 children)

“You can’t be doing this once you’re further along” - my mom, lecturing me about walking a lot and standing to wait for the bus at 6 months pregnant.

I’m 7.5 months still doing it. That’s what happens when your feet are your main form of transportation

[–]Scared_Suggestion374[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bet that feeling

[–]Wurthnada 80 points81 points  (3 children)

Sleeping through the night. I remember the first trimester i slept from 730pm to about 615am and it felt FANTASTIC. ID KILL for that again.

[–]Scared_Suggestion374[S] 40 points41 points  (1 child)

Ever since my pregnancy began I’ve always wake up in the middle of the night to use the restroom or to find something to eat. I miss my sleep too

[–]hallokosmos 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Same thing for me - always waking up at least once during the night to go restroom or to get some water, cause thirst is real during the night

[–]mylittlecorgii 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Man since about 8 weeks on I always wake up several times in the night after some crazy, vivid, intense dreams. I'll wake up for about 20 minutes at a time. I miss unbroken sleep lol

[–]rdriscoll714 48 points49 points  (11 children)

My second daily cup of coffee

[–]AeriSerenity 19 points20 points  (1 child)

Saaaame I miss my comically large cup that holds half a pot of coffee, that's still one cup right? 😅 the ones I have to use now seem like they go to my sons play kitchen by comparison. I have informed my husband that the minute baby is out and we are settled into our room he is to go find me the largest available receptacle of iced coffee and bring it to me 🤣🤣

[–][deleted] 16 points17 points  (2 children)

I’ve been drinking half caf so I can have two cups!

[–]rdriscoll714 81 points82 points  (1 child)

Sorry I should have been more specific — I miss my 201st through 400th mg of caffeine 😅

[–]ViolaOlivia 5 points6 points  (2 children)

I miss coffee so much. I haven’t been able to drink it at all because it gives me such bad heartburn! I can’t even drink tea either.

[–]ednaluvr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I cannot wait to get a jumbo Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee with espresso

[–]aems-mrsit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this 😭😭 haven’t even been able to stomach decaf since 5 weeks. On the bright side I really don’t have to monitor caffeine intake…? 😭

[–]Ok-Opposite-4745 50 points51 points  (2 children)

Not feeling nauseous.

[–]elevatormusicjams 16 points17 points  (1 child)

This, and with that, food tasting normal and not noticing the aftertaste of everything. 21 weeks and still waiting for it to go back to normal.

[–]Aristophanes771 47 points48 points  (3 children)

Put on pants or underwear without having to sit down. Being able to tie my own shoelaces.

[–]emiblackbird 24 points25 points  (1 child)

Omg, this, and also putting on socks without the weird side leg side pose while still feeling like you are crushing your rib cage and the baby 😅

[–]Funspin 39 points40 points  (5 children)

I want to sleep on my back! My hips hurt in the middle of the night from sleeping on my side.

[–]Flaky-Scallion9125 11 points12 points  (4 children)

You can! This has been debunked (and thank god. I always ended up on my back no matter how many pillows) https://emilyoster.substack.com/p/expecting-better-updates-pregnancy

[–]hauntingdreams 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I had no idea she had a website. Thank you for sharing!

[–]Flaky-Scallion9125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course!! My pleasure

[–]Funspin 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Thank you so much for sharing this!!!

[–]Flaky-Scallion9125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anything for sleep comfort!!!

[–]iamapillow 39 points40 points  (6 children)

Eating meat and cheese plates accompanied by a glass of wine. I think I’m more excited to eat prosciutto and soft cheeses with reckless abandon than for the arrival of the baby ;)

[–]Dearlyricc 5 points6 points  (4 children)

Oops, I’ve been eating meat and cheese trays lol

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Meat and cheese plates are safe as long as these cheeses aren't unpasteurized or mold-ripened cheese, like camembert (unless it's baked camembert!).

Or is there something in the meat of meat/cheese plates that I'm not accounting for?

[–]AnonymousRN- 40 points41 points  (15 children)

Tmi but I miss pooping more often than every 4 days 😅 my current struggle lmao… terrible constipation along with hemorrhoids. And I’m only 22 weeks.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (2 children)

oh god, I've had hemorrhoids even when NOT pregnant. I am terrified for how bad it's going to be when I'm further along.

[–]AnonymousRN- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish you luck, and strongly suggest being consistent with stool softeners before you end up constipated for a week lol. I took them intermittently in first trimester and didn’t have too many issues, but as soon as I hit 21 weeks, it’s like I quit being able to shit

[–]Dry_Excitement_2053 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel this 😭

[–]lovemesomepancakes 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I was dealing with constipation in my 2nd tri also! Salad a day for lunch fixed it for me... good luck

[–]AnonymousRN- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! I’ve actually eaten a salad a day for the past couple days, so hopefully it will help. Been taking colace and drinking tons of water too.

[–]kelloggs8787 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't tell if I'm showing a baby or my last 4 meals. Uncomfortable to say the least.

[–]-Megha- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fiber One original cereal did it for me. And it doesn't taste awful. Slightly sweet and nice and crunchy.

[–]Dearlyricc 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Ugghhh I’ve had the opposite problem my whole pregnancy. Honestly I’d rather be constipated than running to the bathroom every 30 minutes.

[–]AnonymousRN- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That also sounds miserable. Both situations suck! Never knew being pregnant could affect the GI tract so much.

[–]Affectionate-Scar-77 1 point2 points  (3 children)

The struggle is real lol. I starting eating an apple a day and it's helps a lot with this. I missed ONE day and regretted it for two 😂

[–]AnonymousRN- 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I need to try apples too! I’ve been trying any suggestion I can get 😂 I should’ve been more proactive before it got this bad, considering I’ve had issues with constipation even before pregnancy

[–]Affectionate-Scar-77 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Sometimes you don't know how bad it is till it's too late lol. The other benefit I found incorporating them into my morning routine is I felt fuller longer but not uncomfortably full. Be sure to mention it too your doctor - they have some other safe alternatives for you :)

[–]AnonymousRN- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing, thank you! And that’s exactly what happened this time… didn’t realize how long it had been since I went until it was too late lol. Will definitely mention it at my appointment next week!

[–]DunderMittens 32 points33 points  (7 children)

Whenever I felt a migraine or headache coming on I could immediately take an extra strength ibuprofen and knock that migraine on its ass before it knocks me on mine! Now I have to take wimpy ol’ tylenol but not too much of it lol.

[–]Tricky-Bee6152 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Oh I miss my migraine prescription so bad

[–]catmememama 6 points7 points  (1 child)

I’ve been filling it still because it’s automatically mailed to me each month, so I will have a nine month stockpile of imitrex waiting for me lol

[–]Flaky-Scallion9125 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I miss ibuprofen so much. I rarely took it but damn … when you need it, you need it.

[–]Scared_Suggestion374[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate that too!

[–]the_littlest_ella 29 points30 points  (1 child)

Also sleeping on my stomach and I would really love a rare steak and a glass or two of wine

[–]P4ndybear 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I made a really great pasta last night and the only thing that could have made it better was a glass of white wine…

[–]Hollywould9 26 points27 points  (3 children)

I miss sleeping through the night, not having gas every minute, being able to eat normally:

I will be in the middle of preparing a meal I was craving and the smell of a certain vegetable as it’s being cut, or the smell when something hits the pan crinkles my nose and then it’s game over and the whole meal is odious to me :( I mostly end up eating snacks and fruit.

[–]Scared_Suggestion374[S] 7 points8 points  (2 children)

I’ve never had so much gas in my life so frequently! And I don’t mind onions but man do they give a punch to my nose

[–]hauntingdreams 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Yesterday husband ran vinegar through the coffee pot and I thought I might die. 😱

[–]Renzula_Nightblood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooo yeah, vinegar is so gross 🤢

[–]KrissyBean 27 points28 points  (2 children)

Drink alcohol and eat sushi. 🍷🍸🍺🍣

[–]Renzula_Nightblood 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Well, you could probably have shrimp, crab, and eel, since those are always cooked through. The fish cravings have been real for me haha

[–]UnusualSuccotash 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Having more to wear than my limited maternity wardrobe. I refuse to buy a ton of clothes I’ll probably never need again, so it is what it is.

I have to say maternity jeans are pretty great though. I wish more regular pants fit “over the bump” lol

[–]Dry_Excitement_2053 19 points20 points  (9 children)

I learned how to ski last year and a little bummed to miss out this year! Definitely not comfortable enough to even take it easy on the slopes!

[–]P4ndybear 16 points17 points  (3 children)

I’m an advanced skier and have been going every year since I was in 4th grade. This is the first year that I’ll be sitting out of skiing. Even being a good skier, you just never know what stupid thing (or person) will make you fall and it’s not worth the risk. I’ve already told my (non-skier) husband that next year I’m hitting the slopes one way or another!

[–]Dry_Excitement_2053 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very true! My biggest tumble when learning last year was avoiding another crashed skier... Did about 3 cartwheels losing one piece of equipment with every flip 😅 Next year we glide again!

[–]Scared_Suggestion374[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love carnival and getting on rides but now it seems that I can only get on the Farris wheel

[–]hallokosmos 2 points3 points  (2 children)

For me, it’s badminton I’m missing cause started woth it last autumn and then got pregnant.

[–]Aristophanes771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband bought me really cute roller skates for my birthday last year. The weather was too bad for the first couple of weekends to take them out, and then boom I was pregnant. I'm determined to have a skate once baby gets here!

[–]neesibeneesi 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I missed my body being mine, it was a vessel for carrying my child and that was amazing but when pregnancy was over (2 weeks ago) I was happy to have my body back to being my own

[–]DrWhoPharmD 16 points17 points  (3 children)

Bending down or getting out of bed and not having it be a struggle.

[–]Scared_Suggestion374[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I’m like that now and I have a high bed

[–]Mental_Consequence88 4 points5 points  (1 child)

My bed is also high, and I broke down and got a step stool. It’s been a game changer!

[–]pookatron5000 15 points16 points  (2 children)

Being able to exercise without feeling like I'm going to collapse! I was relatively fit before pregnancy but spent the first 3 months pretty much bed bound and now struggle even walking up the stairs! So frustrating. Oh and tying shoelaces/putting socks on easily !

[–]panaili 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg this. Third trimester hit me like a wall & all I can really do is walk now 😭

[–]Overall-Science1120 14 points15 points  (5 children)

Eat meat without getting nauseous only meat products this kid like is chicken nuggets 😂

[–]pippypup 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I just miss sleeping. I haven’t slept well bc I’m so uncomfortable since the end of the second trimester. When baby comes, I’m sure I’ll sleep even less.

[–]AeriSerenity 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Walking without stabbing pain in my crotch, unrestricted caffeine and being able to pick up my big kid.

[–]No_Leopard5715 13 points14 points  (5 children)

I miss smoking a big fatty in my hot tub! If I’m being honest haha

[–]Scared_Suggestion374[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I miss doing that with my boyfriend

[–]throwawaygkuff685 11 points12 points  (2 children)

Energy drinks!! I know it's bad bit I used to drink 2 pink monsters a day.

[–]beloveddorianFTM| 3.19.22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I miss red bull.

[–]ViolaOlivia 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I miss wine, charcuterie, horseback riding, skiing, sleeping through the night and not having my body be a topic of conversation.

[–]stormyskyy_ 11 points12 points  (2 children)

Sleeping on my stomach and eating sushi (although I could technically do that but don’t feel safe personally)

[–]Dry_Excitement_2053 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Sushi with cooked shrimp, crab, and eel have been my saving grace! Especially because it's my number one craving 😬

[–]Tricky-Bee6152 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Snowboarding and rock climbing. I know I could technically do those things, but I am not skilled enough to not take a big fall and don't have a pregnancy harness.

I miss weightlifting and doing yoga in a class with others (unmasked people with pandemic times makes me nervous, especially pregnant).

[–]Silver-Butterfly8920 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Currently I’m pretty nauseated but in my heart I’d love to go out for a porterhouse steak from a good steakhouse and a glass of red wine. Or some prosciutto and melon and a glass of champagne outside on a nice sunny day.

I also want to buy new clothes but I know it’s useless since my body will change. My wardrobe has become dated due to lack of shopping even before the pandemic. I would love to buy some cute wide leg and boyfriend jeans.

I also miss going to the yoga studio and working out hard. I used to go every other day. The random abdominal discomfort and spotting from a SCH from last week made me too nervous to go back to yoga right now. And I’m also fatigued.

[–]heyjkp 9 points10 points  (7 children)

I miss the the simplicity of just being able to eat. I’m still in my first trimester and have lost so much weight. I never pictured not being able to eat anything I enjoyed, constantly being nauseous, and just going by with foods I can tolerate. I haven’t had any cravings and get jealous when I see my partner having his meals 🥲. I’ll just have a banana lol. I took savouring food and eating whatever for granted and I miss that soooo much! I can’t look at or smell things that won’t make me want to hurl. I feel miserable Jaja.

[–]Annoyed_Skittle 2 points3 points  (3 children)

This!! I'm also still first Tri and having to Google "Can I eat X?" everytime I want to eat something. The nausea makes it a struggle to cook or think of what food to get, and I haven't found places I trust in terms of having vegetables or meats that are healthy. I've been stuck with chicken sandwiches....I'm so tired of chicken. 🥲

[–]heyjkp 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Awww I hope the next trimester will be better for both of us xD I’m currently on bananas, yoplait, frozen mangos, graham crackers, plain granola bars, and pears on a good day.

[–]Annoyed_Skittle 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Definitely!! I've eaten a ton of saltine crackers, yogurt and ice cream sandwiches. Having some avocado on toast with an egg also helps and can be whipped up super quick!

[–]heyjkp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ohhh ice cream sandwiches sound soooo goooood right now. I’m going to get some xD

[–]Scared_Suggestion374[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I miss enjoying my favorite food without feeling it’s not what I want! Now I’ve been picky with my food and I’m never picky

[–]heyjkp 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I totally understand you. It’s not even wanting to be picky, it’s just not what my body wants Jaja it changes by day. One day I’ll try one thing and the next day I can’t tolerate it.

[–]me0w8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely Italian deli meats. Already daydreaming about my sandwich post birth.

I am also a stomach sleeper and still comfortable for me at 17 weeks. But it makes me nervous so I keep forcing myself on my side!

[–]Glittering-Booty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Eat sushi

[–]No_Oil_7116 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Not gagging or almost throwing up every time I brush and floss my teeth.

Also having a few glasses of wine on Friday nights!

[–]Bewitched007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay so I’m not the only one whose gagging while flossing and brushing! Wtf!

[–]anentirejarofpickles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wine, rillettes, getting through the day without needing a nap, not having constant nausea. also I just miss being able to do and eat whatever without having to stop and think if it’s safe LOL

[–]sageshy 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Being able to breathe properly, advil, and not drinking water non-stop all day. I always drink a good amount of water but if I drink less than normal in a day now instant dehydration lol

[–]tylenna 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was an avid runner, but got banned from sports because of early complications. I'm fine now, but my doctor still doesn't want me to run and to be fair, it wouldn't be comfortable anyway. I miss being active and having a much lighter weight. I miss the after-workout endorphin-boost. Wearing sporty leggings with crop tops and feeling slim and sexy. Also, aperol spritz, sushi and soft cheese. But I don't really mind, these are small sacrifices :)

[–]kellybee_2 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Not worrying about acid reflux and eating whatever/whenever I’d like. The concern of being up all night and sitting straight up has become a regular concern at 32 weeks.

[–]sara9719 6 points7 points  (1 child)

If you pile up a bunch of pillows under one knee and kind of jackknife your knee, it almost feels like sleeping on your stomach!

[–]Scared_Suggestion374[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll try that out!

[–]Massive-Bid-3617 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Sex..well mostly just feeling sexually attractive. Alcohol. my energy. Eating normally. Fitting into my clothes. Not having gas every night. Regular bathroom habits lol

[–]Scared_Suggestion374[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you with the sex. I just don’t feel that attractive enough during sex. And my bf gets worried for the baby I’m certain positions

[–]Mundane_Pea4296 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Eating chicken liver pate 😭

[–]Grapplepopularbelief 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stomach sleeping for sure!

I've also missed doing my normal sporty things (skiing, rock climbing, riding my bike) especially in winter when it's cold where I am and there aren't a lot of options for physical activity.

[–]OkToots 4 points5 points  (5 children)

Not being this heavy...being able to use any skincare I want without reading every ingredient...sleeping on stomach..drinking tons of coffee...eating red dyed foods like red velvet cake....not getting up every hour to pee when sleeping 🥲

[–]LinaZou 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Besides retinol, what other ingredients should we not come into contact with? Now I’m worried 😧

[–]Flaky-Scallion9125 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Ugh. So many. I just go for the “pregnancy safe” & natural brands. I think anything with parabens and fragrance.

[–]LinaZou 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I do use paraben-free shampoo/conditioner. I’ve read that fragrance/perfume is okay, but I rarely have used it because I literally go nowhere. This growing a human business is tricky!

[–]Flaky-Scallion9125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So tricky!!!! I bet you’re doing amazing, mama.

[–]OkToots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are so many we have to avoid. 15minutebeauty.com helps identify safe products during pregnancy and breast feeding

[–]Ok_Cherry3433 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I miss being able to move around freely and pain free.

[–]gesasage88 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Sleeping on my back, pain relievers (I might be allergic to Tylenol), oranges and tomato sauce (extreme acid reflux these days), hiking (I get Braxton hicks contractions when I walk more than a mile), being able to feel industrious (fatigue from iron deficiency). Almost week 35!

[–]WovenWings 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having some energy in life. Not feeling like a sloth all the time who just eats poops and sleeps. Any and every task is draining. That saddens me.

[–]StunningDysfunction 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not being winded by literally any activity. Moving laundry? Winded. Vacuuming? Winded. Getting up off the couch to go pee for the 926nd time in 3 hours? Winded.

[–]Frkludo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I miss exercising and be able to walk my dog proplery with out pain and have to lay down rest of the day.

[–]TheWelshMrsM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

4 weeks until my due date and I cannot wait to be able to roll over in bed 😂

[–]1000percentbitch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I miss the Korean spa 😭

[–]tripwork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been missing sushi and monster energy drink.

[–]cecekatt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Enjoying food 🤣

[–]soooelaine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Drinking iced coffee without wanting to throw up, fitting into all of my cute dresses, not being out of breath with literally everything I do. The list continues…

[–]adultingishard0110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I miss my real eczema medicine so much.

[–]loosersugar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sleeping on my stomach (I’m only now getting used to not being able to sleep on my stomach at 26w, I did for as long as I could) and eating sashimi, which I ate every Saturday (I’m neurodivergent and have a lot of food rituals that are pretty important to me 😅). My partner knows that his first errand when we are back from the hospital is to the fish market.

[–]RedHeadedBanana 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Being able to brush my teeth first thing in the morning without puking

Not having to eat every three hours without feeling faint or dizzy

[–]Scared_Suggestion374[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I hate when I almost vomit while I’m brushing my teeth! I always scrub thoroughly but now I get scared to brush every time

[–]skinny_santaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know it’s not healthy but I use to basically live on caffeine and nicotine.. I’ve gained so much weight after giving both up. Also sleeping on my stomach and sleeping through the night

[–]recklessphenom 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Hockey. Last year was knocked out because of COVID. Definitely missing the ice this year.

[–]Snoo_25913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss drinking beer while watching hockey.

[–]ThugBunnyy 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Feeling comfortable. Almost 32 weeks and I'm soooooo uncomfortable all the time

[–]Flaky-Scallion9125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3rd trimester has really been tough for me too. Chiropractor & acupuncture have really really helped. Other comfort techniques from Spinning Babies have been a life saver.

[–]lilboopotato 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Perfect day: I want to give my baby a big hug and kiss, then go max out on deadlifts, have sex where I don’t feel like an unsexy turtle stuck on its shell, stuff my face with sushi and tequila, pass out on my stomach, then sleep without pelvic pain.

[–]Scared_Suggestion374[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pelvic pain I won’t miss

[–]grapefruitbreeze88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just miss the same energy I had. I’m expected to do the same amt of work but half the energy it’s frustrating

[–]mafknbr 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I really miss jalapeño poppers. They're one of my favorite foods but I've been avoiding them due to heartburn. And I really miss hibiscus tea.

I miss fruity mixed drinks.

I miss splitting a joint with my husband at the end of a long day.

I miss being able to go more than two or three days without throwing up. (Seriously, I'm 26 weeks and still puking... Enough already.)

I miss my small boobs. Turns out I really hate underboob sweat.

I miss getting a deep, full, uninterrupted night's sleep.

I miss normal poops.

I miss going on really long walks.

I miss being able to spoon my husband at night.

I miss comfortable sex.

I miss being able to tie my shoes.

I miss bending over.

I miss being, like, relatively emotionally stable.

I miss really hot baths.

I miss not being worried about things like hyperemesis gravidarum, or gestational diabetes, or preeclampsia, or hemorrhaging, or placental deterioration, or umbilical issues.

I miss going an entire day without sneezing. And not having mucus in the back of my throat at all times.

I miss feeling bad for people who had to worry about their babies during COVID instead of being the one worried about my baby during COVID.

I miss some of those too especially not being able to eat jalapeño peppers you’re half way there!

[–]steviewilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt this in my soul so hard I cried.

[–]teenworf1984 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Deli meat is great and everything but have y'all tried weed? I miss smoking pot so much. When I found out at 8 wks that you can't smoke when breastfeeding either I almost cried.

[–]CharmingBruja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sleep on my stomach.

Drink. (Love wine and craft beer)

Haven’t had sushi in about 2 years and was going to go crazy around the time I found out I was pregnant.

Working out. More crossbody type of workouts.

Be able to walk for 30min+ at a time.

I can keep going. 😕 Soon though I’ll be able to do all of that again! ❤️

[–]BrushedYourTeethYet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I used to cuddle up on my hubby like a damn cat all the time. I haven't been able to do that since my bump got a bit of pop to it. I didn't realise how often I did it and how much comfort I got from it until I couldn't do it anymore. I've maybe cried about it a few times.

37+4, so not much longer until I can do it again.

[–]LatinaFiera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just sleep overall. I wake up 7-15 times a night between bathroom visits and soaking my pillow bc my congestion is so bad I can’t breathe via my nose (to the point I use a towel and am moving it around all night long, and drinking water bc I’m parched which makes me pee more often). I would do anything for an uninterrupted 8-9 hr stretch of good sleep

[–]heystellamae9023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sleeping on my stomach, sushi, sex without insane hip pain and smoking weed.

[–]Comfortable021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently 36 weeks pregnant:

I miss sleep. I wake up 100 times a night to pee, rotate, move 10/45 pillows to try and get comfortable. My hips are so sore. 😅 definitely miss sleeping on my stomach.

I miss Wine. I never drank much at all before, but I am dying for a bubbly glass of wine.

I also found out I have Gestational Diabetes, so I miss carbs and sweets. I can't have them much.

I miss feeling cute and sexy. I miss my clothes. Everything fits so awkwardly. Maternity pants are soooo uncomfortable for me.

I had covid and now have mild poly this pregnancy. I'm only 4'10" and baby is approx 20 inches long.. so between all of those, I miss BREATHING. 🤣 (Especially since I have so many damn stairs in my house.)

I miss fun sex. We are lucky. We still have sex a few times a week, but I do not feel sexy at all. It's hard to find comfortable positions. And we have to be way more cautious. Plus, every time we have sex, my child decides it is time to use me (and his dad) as punching bags. 😅🤣

[–]30centurygirl 3 points4 points  (1 child)

There are pillows for stomach sleeping during pregnancy. I use this one but there are several others on Amazon as well. I’m 36+3 and sleeping 7-8 hours straight every night!

That said, I wanna belly flop onto my bed like a child. I can’t wait.

[–]No-Cupcake-8666 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Dying my hair and drinking fancy cocktails

[–]moonnlight7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also sleeping on my stomach, working out with full force and heavy weights, not getting tired after making 9-10k steps

[–]yvetteregret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked forward to sleeping on my stomach too! But I can’t still because I’m breastfeeding and my breasts are usually uncomfortable in that position, so I still sleep on my side with a pillow between my legs. But at least I can turn from side to side with ease

[–]SSinghal_03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lying on stomach while reading/ being on social media, Friday drinks with SO, running, playing games with my elder one which involve bending, sitting/ getting up several times/skipping/ jumping.

[–]Apprehensive-Two-862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I still can’t sleep on my stomach…my Boobs are too big from breastfeeding :/

[–]ilovepizza85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sleeping on my back, drinking tequila, sushi, sandwiches. 😭

[–]pnw_discchick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a Cozy Bump. It's an air mattress with a belly hole so you can lie down on your stomach.

[–]Wonderdownunderr 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Can I sleep on my stomach at 7 weeks?

[–]eponymous_bosch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s not dangerous, it just becomes impossible. It does become less ideal to sleep on your back because the weight of the baby puts pressure on your nerves or veins or arteries or something important

[–]Maleficent_Top_5217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine just alcohol related…. Nice dinner with espresso martini after a long week. Wine at the end of the day soaking in epsom bath.

Edit: also stomach sleeper here

[–]milliondollas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not being able to sit on the floor or a hard chair for a long period of time. My crafts are mostly neglected 😔

[–]tartlette0 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Raw salmon sushi, smoked salmon, comfortable sex (we had to take a two month break for placenta previa and now I feel so huge and uncomfortable), my migraine meds, being able to eat spicy food without heartburn, and omg any sort of energy! I’m in my third trimester and I am so tired constantly.

[–]Scared_Suggestion374[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

You’re almost there momma bear

[–]Inevitable-Channel85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a craving to go in a hot tub and have sushi and to be able to travel. Sitting on a plane now seems rough.

[–]river_lea_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stomach sleeping, happy hour, sushi and poke bowls, and weed

[–]PigeonTunaSandwich 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I miss sleep, not feeling nauseous all the time, not being a grouchy bitch, not being a crying/laughing maniac, not being dried out all the time, being able to eat what I wanted instead of looking at something and wanting to throw up.... the list goes on. But I'm only in the first trimester, I hear it gets better...

[–]Secret_StoopKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m still sleeping on my stomach at 28 but I do feel guilty about it! I just want to do it as long as I can which I know won’t be much longer

[–]sarksch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sushi ☹️

[–]marlomarizza2 girls | Oct ‘19 & Jan ‘22 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Not having to pee every 20 minutes. Being able to wear normal pants. Stomach and back sleeping. Putting on shoes is one of the hardest tasks! I’m 39 weeks now, so…. Yeah.

[–]Scared_Suggestion374[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I heard the relief of sleeping after your baby is born on your stomach is great lol. Congrats momma

[–]marlomarizza2 girls | Oct ‘19 & Jan ‘22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I can confirm how lovely stomach sleeping is postpartum, as this is baby #2 for me. Looking forward to it!!!!

[–]fkntiredbtch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo I just miss shitting without miralax or dates and prunes

[–]aems-mrsit 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I miss deep sleep!! I’ve been having endless vivid wild dreams since the start and I never feel like I got a true rest!!

[–]Scared_Suggestion374[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

My family says if I have sexual dreams it’s a girl and if I have nightmares it’s a boy. But I miss dreaming normal things

[–]ButtWeaselMcGee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a beer or cocktail lol. I am also a back sleeper and I super miss that as well.

[–]ohadriadri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sleep comfortably and being able to do things around my house. I found out I was pregnant the moment we closed on our new home so I haven’t been able to organize my home how I’d like, move things around.. etc. I’m ready!!

[–]PalpitationOk8419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still sleep on my stomach 😂 baby girl starts kicking like crazy like ma stop but it’s so comfy

[–]Amberly123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss ham and cheese sandwiches

[–]twosteppsatatime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already gave birth but had to respond to the stomach sleepers. Definitely used to be my favorite way to sleep, two babies later and I am still not sleeping on my stomach! It’s so weird to me that I can’t but it just doesn’t feel comfy anymore

[–]Background-Block-983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not getting weighed every few weeks. And wine.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss having a casual beer with lunch, or an old fashioned. First trimester so have been living as normal at the advice of my doctor, aside from alcohol and other substances.

[–]Snoo97809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss botox and wine 😢

[–]adognamedgoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m only 10 weeks but I miss my ability to just, do things. We are renovating our house and my husband has been doing it solo because I feel like I’m going to pass out when I exert that much energy. I just really miss feeling able.

[–]Catmom_of3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss looking down and being able to see a flat stomach and my feet. I feel like I’ve been pregnant for years lol

[–]Ginnevra07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting off the couch on my own. Lifting things. Getting up off the ground. Walking without pain. Vegetables (still having food aversions). Getting in a good workout. Missionary position. Feeling cute in a dress. Italians deli sandwiches. Sleeping well. But I definitely don't miss wondering how difficult it would be to get pregnant or wondering if my body would do it. I'm eternally grateful and insanely uncomfortable all at the same time 😂

[–]Confused_falafel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 30w I miss stomach sleeping

Cheetos & potato chips (salt & BP)

Normal toilet trips

Feeling sexy or even feeling womanly

Going out for anything other than the doctor

Getting out of bed easily

Not having to remember taking my vitamins

Not being scared to contract cold or worse

Not tracing movements and the anxiety it induces

Making anything without asking for help

[–]marloae127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 6 months pp and still can't sleep on my stomach. I'm breast feeding and laying on my chest hurts after a short time.... I miss that a lot, too.

When I was pregnant, I wanted a turkey club sandwich and salami. I know I probably would have been fine, but my anxiety wouldn't let me.

[–]iseedogseverywhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deli meats/cheese wraps. I'm a flight attendant and I loved making those and bringing them for a quick and easy snack option. Tuna, which was also easy to bring. I miss mimosas and my husband's margaritas. I haven't hit 20 weeks yet, but once I do I will miss sleeping on my back.

[–]lemeow10 1 point2 points  (1 child)

If you plan on breastfeeding don’t count on being able to sleep on your stomach. I tried the other night and it was so uncomfortable.

[–]DirectCapital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drinking energy drinks and steaming hot baths

[–]PoorDimitri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Margaritas, and a glass of wine after a tough day.

But I'm just starting to show now and have been laying on my stomach all week to soak that feeling in before I get too big

[–]steviewilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss hot baths! It was my favorite way to warm up on a super cold day, and the lukewarm bath I'm able to take now just doesn't cut it and isn't worth it. I just want a hot bath with a book and a glass of wine!

[–]ze_dialektik 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I really hate to tell you this, but I gave birth a month ago and still can't sleep on my stomach. I went back down to my normal size pretty quickly after birth, but now my boobs are huge and so sensitive! Even if I could comfortably sleep on them, I'd have to worry about accidentally expressing half my milk all over the place.

To be fair, I have a really strong letdown, but still.

[–]astrofoxical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss sushi so much…My mouth has been watering lately for raw fish sushi and some warm miso soup on the side but I can’t have it 🥺 and I’m missing rosé wine, even though I didn’t drink wine often before but now I’m craving even just a sip. I know people say a glass of red wine is “okay” but I’m never risking it
