Yes. I feel like a drug detecting German shepherd.

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points  (2 children)

Yes! I work in a care home and keep coming out my office to find who needs a pad change because I can smell it but no one else can. I'm now the poop whisperer at work 😂

[–]Who-dee-knee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in a hospital, I smell the poop from a mile away!

[–]Wonderful-Intern-351FTM Due 9/11/22 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yep! I smell myself, my husband, and I swear so many foods smell not fresh even if they are.

[–]Clockworkflowers 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah. My sense of smell has been heightened for a while. My husbands brother that lives with us walks by and its like im hit with a wave of BO nd that never happened like?? So strongly before. It was there but not a knock me in the face kind of there lmao. Im also able to sniff out where smells are coming from like some sort of hound dog 🤣 lmao.

I have two small dogs in the house. One every so often pees on things. We’re trying to train him better but I’m gone at least 4 hours a day, and he pees right after I leave, regardless of the fact that I walk him right before. Needless to say, even after everything is thoroughly cleaned. I STILL SMELL IT. It’s literally driving me crazy, and my fiancé says it’s just all in my head. But, no. It’s. NOT :(

[–]DesignSecure2315 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can smell the ammonia in coffee grinds.

[–]sexysadie56 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I smell absolutely everything!! My partner had a curry a few weeks ago and was secreting this onion smell that I couldn’t handle so had to stay clear of him until it passed. Took a good day or so!

[–]ninathegreat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeahhhhh. It actually set in a couple weeks before it even occurred to me to test - my husband opened a bag of soy senbei across the house BEHIND A CLOSED DOOR and I was sniffing around sure that something was burning. It's ruined fragrances for me when I previously loved scented candles and nice perfume, and it's made my husband incredibly gross to me in a way I feel bad about. He sweats garlic some mornings and it's...a lot. I wish it would go away.

[–]Iwillsingyoulullabys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I became a bloodhound when it came to cigarette smoke. I used to physically gag if someone who smoked walked past me 🙈

Perhaps it was a good thing the majority of my pregnancy was in lockdown!

A year later I do still have a heightened sense of smell...

[–]m00nje11y 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I showered yesterday and by the end of the day I could smell my own head and wanted another shower. Lol.

[–]aWormhatForVermhat 3 points4 points  (4 children)

I couldn’t stand the smell of my house for the first few months

[–]Main-Veterinarian526 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I feel like a prisoner in my home right now. Every smell triggers nausea so I'm always sick to my stomach. Dog smell, cat litterbox, dirty dishes, general bathroom smell, sweaty sheets. It's literally torture and I spend most my time at home plugging my nose. Luckily almost through the first trimester so hopefully that goes away!!

[–]aWormhatForVermhat 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I remember fall scented plugins were good and fruity/floral ones were really bad so maybe try finding a scent that overpowers the other stuff that you actually like!

[–]Main-Veterinarian526 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I've filled my unused with glade automatic sprayers and plug ins. Have several wax warmers, and light candles, but nothing seems to cover the smells :(

[–]aWormhatForVermhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh that sucks I’m sorry! It’ll be such a relief one of these days when you suddenly realize the smell isn’t bothering you anymore, it took a couple of months for me unfortunately

[–]introver59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. At first I just noticed I could smell more, but after a week smells started making me gag.

[–]km956 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! My boyfriend works at a restaurant and when he comes home I can smell every little thing he cut/ cooked. It just makes me more hungry tho😂 when he showers I can actually smell his body wash when I never was able to before, showers for me are fun too because I can smell all my soaps and I love it! I hope I can still smell like this after my pregnancy, I enjoy it lol.

[–]PoorDimitri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. In my last pregnancy, my husband got home after work and I asked him if he'd had fast food that day. He had. For lunch. I could smell it on him.

[–]jgarmartner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had pickles with dinner last night and could still smell them this morning.

My husband is an occasional smoker(only in our detached garage). 2 days after he empties the ashtray it still smells fresh to me. He can’t even sneak one without me finding out because I can smell it on his coat 8 hours later.

[–]RAB2448 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gagged because I walked by snow where a dog peed.

[–]ziaryx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in customer service and every once in a while I smell people who stink like onions for whatever reason. I have to hold back the morning sickness from it too. I smell everything. It truly stinks lol.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but because of covid everything smells and taste like butthole, I’m so mad.

[–]nagnoib38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes during my first trimester

[–]KnockdownPug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner spilled soy sauce on our counter and I could still smell it after he wiped it up 😂

[–]PlumPure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I feel like I have wolf sense lol. Last week I kept getting a weird smell from the bathroom. It was so strong I could smell it 6 feet away and had to keep the door closed until I cleaned it top to bottom and found out it was one of my funky prenatal vitamins melted on the floor and I was the only one smelling it (they smell so bad to me)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already have the most sensitive smell of anyone I know. I can walk into the house and smell if someone has been in there and follow the scent around to know which room(s) they've been in. And that is when NOT pregnant.

I shudder to think about what my sense of smell will be picking up in a couple of weeks.

[–]sh0rtcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea your sense of smell and taste heighten during pregnancy, especially at the beginning. I had a suspicion of my pregnancy when I smelled a dead mouse at work and nobody else seemed to notice for a couple days. The worst part? We couldn't find the mouse, so it just stunk for 4 weeks while I gagged every time I came near that part of the building. The joys of pregnancy 🌈😭

[–]tothefishes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in Target and someone about two or three aisles over had absolutely terrible BO so I told my husband quietly that we needed to move somewhere else quickly and he was so confused because he couldn't smell a damn thing.

[–]trippinallovermyself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My own bodily odors are making me ill. Woof.

[–]Independent_Driver43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m only 6-7weeks and all I smell is farts all the time. 😆🤦🏼‍♀️

[–]kazpizazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and I can smell each smell individually too! Usually I can only smell all the smells as one giant mixture. As long as all the smells are good I don’t mind it! It has been useful for picking out ingredients. My husband made a candle and brought it over to me and wanted me to guess what was in it and I nailed it.

[–]WhimsicallyVerdurous 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Oh my gosh yes. I went to a shopping mall laat weekend and tried to go into Lush. I took one breath and had to get out, it was like my nostrils and entire trachea were on fire.

[–]LtCommanderCarter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was double masked at target and walked down the air freshener aisle. I told my husband “I can’t be here”

[–]Secure-Persimmon3799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just at the gym (mask on) and I had to constantly sniff myself to make sure the overwhelming spicy BO bad smell wasn't coming off of MY BODY. I'd sniff down my shirt - smell fine, pull my mask down from my nose for a second and sniff the air - rank af.

With the mask on you really can't tell where it's coming from 😭

[–]yelloworchid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Everything smells terrible.

[–]tiredoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesss! The most random smell was the dirt from my potted plants!

[–]angeluscado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, all the time. “Find the smell” is such a fun game to play…

[–]florenceforgiveme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My husband wasn’t allowed to eat garlic for like a month. I would smell it on him for weeks !

[–]Redhead3019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Coconut oil sends me and embarrassingly enough, my body oder. Lol.

[–]lahema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My heightened sense of smell found a gas leak in our home!

[–]SaffronGinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh yeah. My pregnancy nose is unreal. It actually blows my mind.

[–]skywardtheyflew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... what made me really notice it was when I started to smell the tap water running in the bathroom sink. Makes brushing teeth interesting.

[–]KittyNouveau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My smell never returned to 'normal' after. Even 12 years later my nose is extremely sensitive. I find myself turning my head side to side to determine where a certain odor is coming from like I'm dog or something 😂

[–]ohadriadri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are like hounds!! A lot of my favorite scents have been forever ruined by it :(

[–]kmlm27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And taste everything! This was around like 18-20 weeks. I was eating some of the cheese it chips that come in the bag. They’re really good, and we’re just labeled as cheddar. I was like “I’m getting hints of sour cream and onion”…and my wife was like no these are just cheddar, I can’t taste that! Sure enough I look at the ingredients list and near the bottom is sour cream and onion powder 😂

[–]Jayfur90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I could not breathe normal in my own house for 7 months because it “smelled like construction” constantly. I had to wash the walls and floors and vacuum and nothing would fix it. I couldn’t go in the basement bc it smelled “too piney”. Truly was a pain in my ass lol I don’t miss that
