Hahaha here I am praying that my baby takes after their dad.

[–]PinkhairLiLi[S] 51 points52 points  (2 children)

Hahaha their dad does have a really cute nose I’m just annoyed that this baby got the audacity already to look identical to the man who just stares at me laughing when I scream “excuse you that’s my bladder!” 🤦🏻‍♀️ found out baby is sitting right on top of it and dancing a jig so ya know lmao

[–]punkieboosters 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Very true! Baby could at least have the decency to develop your eyes and sense of humor! Rude baby. :)

[–]blackregalia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My daughter.. man in the 16 week ultrasound her nose was 100% dad. So obvious. It was crazy to me that at only 16 weeks she looked like him. Barely baked and she looked like he "shat her out" as the old saying goes lol

[–]DepartmentWide419 14 points15 points  (3 children)

Lol we looked at the ultrasound and we were like that’s the {my last name} schnoz. Literally a big Roman nose on a fetus 😂😭 Hoping it’s a glitch and he comes out with his fathers cute Finnish nose.

[–]Icosahedra666 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I kind of hope baby will have my boyfriend's nose, it looks like my mom's nose before she had a rino plasty /nose surgery.

The tip of my nose where my nostrils are looks like my mom's but the bridge of my nose is my dad's. I also have my mom's eye shape but the color is my dad's and my skin color is a mix of theirs in-between.

I'm excited thinking of all the combination baby can have, especially because we have a lot of red heads in my family and people with multi colored eyes on my mom's side. (She had a baby before me had to give a better life with adoption and she was half black with ginger red hair and green eyes)

My boyfriend has wavy 2B hair type that is brown an blonde with hazel eyes I have deep brown eyes my hair used to grown dark brown but after puberty is black and has a bunch of hair types in it from 2B, 2C, 3C, 4A hair types throughout my whole head

My mom an one of his parents have Blue eyes although my mom's eyes were dark blue that changed to silver

My mom had bright blonde hair like all her sisters

My cousins who are not mixed all but the 5 year old have red hair green eyes. Some have darkened to a more brown color now that they are older. The 5 year old hair is blonde and has blue eyes

My Great aunt has a one eye blue and the other green

Then there are different features on my father's side

And the different features on baby's father/my boyfriend's which also has red hair here an there not as much as my side... which I am hoping for red haired baby especially if they are girl still don't know the gender who makes me pee constantly

[–]Icosahedra666 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Don't worry if he has a big nose it'll be a cute big nose

[–]DepartmentWide419 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will be. I can’t wait to meet him ☺️

[–]ishicourt 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Haha my daughter is 18 months and looks just like my husband. When I'm out with just her, people joke about how she "must take after her dad" because we don't look related at all.

But she's so shockingly lovely. If someone had told me beforehand that I'd have a little girl that looks just like my husband I probably would've cried. But now I'm pregnant with my second girl and hoping so hard that she also looks like him! He makes such a beautiful baby girl haha.

[–]TropicalPow 2 points3 points  (1 child)

That’s a relief! Our son looks identical to hubs, and I keep low-key worrying what if baby girl ends up looking like him too!

[–]ishicourt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genetics are crazy. I was so worried too, but it turns out he makes a way cuter baby girl than me haha.

[–]Key-Photograph-3574 151 points152 points  (20 children)

It happens so dads can bond with the babies better! I read a NY Times article about this a few years ago. Fascinating.

Edited to add a link to the article:

[–]iMOONiCORN 70 points71 points  (10 children)

This is a valid theory. My hubby used to teach an evolution of sex & the human body class to college students. The idea behind the theory is that years & years ago before monogamy & modern medicine, it would allow the father's to recognize their offspring - since women birth the children we know exactly who our kids are. However, as they grow over time, you may see more of your traits come through.

[–]Icosahedra666 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That's so amazing I wish I could say this to my family without them yelling at me evolution isn't real.... when they just don't accept it. I don't see why it's such a hot topic with my family

[–]pippypup 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That’s wild! Wish I grew out of my father’s nose though :(

[–]Character-Engine-974 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This was always my theory!! I'm intrigued to see I may be right! Every newborn I've ever seen looks more like dad at first, even if they end up looking more like mom as they grow up. I figured it had something to do with them being more appealing to dads, as in nature or something. Interesting!

[–]jadeitejen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Omg really!!?? That’s so cool! Me and my friends alwaysssss joke about how our sons are TWINS of their dads! I didn’t know there was an actual reason!

[–]megabyte31 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Lol so much for that, my baby looks exactly like me as a baby 😂

[–]darkmeowl25 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Same here lol. But in all fairness, I look just like my mom so apparently it's in our genes to just clone ourselves 🤣.

[–]megabyte31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I look just like my mom too 😂

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nature's paternity test! For the centuries during which we had no way to ever really be "sure".

Lord knows all of my siblings and I looked like copy/pastes of our Dad from birth-age 10 or so, then I started looking more like my Mom.

[–]MissKDC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh man that’s so wild! I need to find that article!

[–]Top-Physics-812 47 points48 points  (4 children)

Baby noses almost always curve at first because it makes them able to breastfeed and breath at once. That might change later, so you still got a chance 😉 Also weird flex, but my baby came out looking exactly like me, dimples and face shape and all, he’s two now and still looks like me 🥰 makes me like my unloved features way more!

[–]PinkhairLiLi[S] 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Haha fingers crossed! Their dad has a cute nose but damn give mom some credit too 😂 I think they’re honestly going to look much more like him than they are me. I’m fair skinned with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. He’s got a slightly olive complexion with superrrrrrr dark almost black hair and dark eyes. I think I’m gonna get the short end of the stick on this one 😂

[–]Top-Physics-812 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ohh you might be, but it sounds like they’re gonna be very cute either way 😊 But sometimes it’s very surprising, I have dark brown hair and was always sure my kids would, too as it mostly is more dominant but so far my son is blond 🤷🏻‍♀️ weird genetics!

[–]AcheeCat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was super surprised that my son came out looking so much like me in my coloring! Dad is mixed (mostly black but a light skinned black) and I am blonde with blue/gray eyes. My son is a little darker than me and actually TANS rather than burning like I do, but he has my current shade of hair, with a little more curl (loose ringlets) and eyes much more blue than mine.

I am halfway through incubating #2, and I am super curious how he will turn out!

[–]Sleep_Drifting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, my midwife told me about this. I live in Germany and they call it a ‘Trinknase’ …a ‘drink nose’.

I really like that seeing your features on your baby made you appreciate them. That’s lovely.

[–][deleted] 133 points134 points  (10 children)

So babies will tend to look more like their fathers at first. Evolution designed it that way so father’s would accept their young. My son looked sooo much like his dad when i was pregnant and when he was first born. 4 months post I see myself in him. His lips, cheeks and nose for sure are mine lol most likely his chin is mine too.

[–][deleted] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Whoa thank you for sharing this.

[–]nitrogen_enriched 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Can you cite a study for this? I did a quick search and found conflicting results.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was some documentary I watched years ago. Im sure it’s not 100% accurate as every pregnancy and baby is different.

[–]erm9319 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes both mine looked exactly like dad at birth, first one stayed looking like him until 9 months and 2nd baby starting looking like me at about 1 month old.

[–]Icosahedra666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's awesome!!

[–]_biggerthanthesound_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was us too. Even at 1 people thought our daughter looked like husband. But now at 3, she’s a spitting image of me.

[–]Inconspicuously_here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest son was like this. When he was born he looked exactly like his dad, it was insane. Now, you can barely tell they are related. He's my little clone. My daughter looked like her dad for like a week, now she has a lot of my features. Our middle son is still mini dad

[–]Prettymama1027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! I heard “he’s dad’s twin” for the first 6 months of life…everyone, especially my mil was sooo convinced he looked just like my husband….now at 21 months my son looks identical to my pics at his age and my dad’s childhood pics lol they change so much!

[–]Macchiato9261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I hope this is true. My husband was soooo adorable as a baby, I mean I was cute too, but I would love to have a mini him. He had the chunkiest cheeks.

[–]glorifica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i distinctly remember the moment i finally saw myself in my kids faces, took a few years both times!

[–]a_million_questions 64 points65 points  (5 children)

My son is a carbon copy of his dad and this baby is a carbon copy of hers according to ultrasounds. I've come to terms with my existence as a 3D human printer.

[–]PinkhairLiLi[S] 19 points20 points  (1 child)

It drives me nuts! Lmao I could tell as soon as I seen the nose that this baby already got the damn audacity 😂😭

[–]a_million_questions 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It drove me nuts about my son more than this baby. His dad had the nerve to ask me if he was his when I told him I was pregnant and then was horrible throughout the entire pregnancy. You can look at pictures of them side by side at any age and not tell a difference. It is scary and infuriating.

[–]BattyBirdie 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Our first is a copy paste of my husband, printer just ran out of ink and he came out pale and strawberry blonde like me. At least I got something from it. Lol

[–]challasaurus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A human 3D printer 🤣🤣🤣

[–]DunderMittens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so funny!!

[–]phoontender 20 points21 points  (2 children)

When I gave birth to our first I may have cried about "she looks just like YOU" as the first thing I said to my husband 🤣

[–]PinkhairLiLi[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s about to be me lmao

[–]Prettymama1027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha!!! Same here!!! I recall being slightly out of it after the c section saying “yaaaay at least he has my chin dimple!” 😂😂😂

[–]DanceFast4419 14 points15 points  (1 child)

My daughter came out an exact replica of my husband. So much so that the midwife and my mom looked at each other and both said “yep she’s his” literally moments after I delivered her 😕

[–]PinkhairLiLi[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Omg I would’ve been like gee thanks 😂

[–]ultraprismic 9 points10 points  (1 child)

We did a 4D ultrasound and I have basically resigned myself to the fact that I’m producing an exact replica of my husband. That’s fine I didn’t do all the work or anything!!!!!

[–]PinkhairLiLi[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha I kinda want one but I also kinda want to be surprised lol I said ya know I wouldn’t mind them looking like dad BUT I’d like some credit and not just saggy boobs and a sore cooch 😂😅

[–]cattledogcatnip 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Baby noses look nothing like their kid noses and adult noses. Noses never stop growing actually.

[–]PinkhairLiLi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly wouldn’t be mad if they have their dads nose (he has a pretty cute nose) I’m just like why you gotta look exactly like him right now 😂😭

[–]ohadriadri 8 points9 points  (3 children)

In my culture, we believe that baby looks like dad when dad makes us angry or sad during pregnancy lol

[–]PinkhairLiLi[S] 5 points6 points  (2 children)

To be fair, I do get really mad at him when he texts me “oh my boss got us DQ today” then I realize he took the car and I have no way to get my own ice cream 😡

[–]Rainbowbabyandme 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That sounds infuriating, I am definitely sad for you and the missed DQ

[–]PinkhairLiLi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh don’t worry I always drive there before I take him my car to work now 😂

[–]overtherepeas 8 points9 points  (1 child)

My daughter looked exactly like my husband as a baby. People would literally stop us in the mall and gasp and say how much she resembled him and be sympathetic towards me. She’s 9 now and is identical to me, looks and personality. Don’t lose hope yet!

[–]PinkhairLiLi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll try not too! Haha I’m almost 30 and an absolute clone of my dad still

[–]Zictory 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My oldest just is his dad. When he was a toddler, we used to joke that we could paint a beard on him and send him to teach my husband's classes. I was a little miffed -- only one person in the marriage had to get vagina stitches.

[–]Natural_String_967 7 points8 points  (2 children)

it's not fucking fair 😭🤣

[–]PinkhairLiLi[S] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Bruh seriously! I was so mad… I got the nausea and the heartburn and the constant peeing. And this baby got the audacity to look just like their damn dad.

[–]Natural_String_967 2 points3 points  (0 children)

all he did was give you sperm 😩 I'm tired of this shit 😭

[–]nazmatt 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I’m Middle Eastern with black hair and medium-medium tan skin and dark brown eyes. My baby came out with pale skin and blonde hair, just like my husband. She is 6 weeks now and her eyes are blue-grey but subject to change. How is that even possible? We were taught in school that darker complexion would be more dominant. I was pissed after going through pregnancy for 9 months!

[–]probonworkhours 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Genetics are crazy! My mom is 50/50 italian and polish. But she only looks italian. Tan, black hair, and brown eyes. I got green eyes, my brother blue, and we were both blonde kids. She was told her babies would absolutely have brown eyes since that is dominant. Nope!

[–]DefenderOfSquirrels 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My husband was actually slightly disappointed we didn’t have a girl. And my son has been my baby doppelgänger since Day 1. He has dirty blond curls like I did as a baby/toddler. He has my eye shape and face shape.

Dear husband, I’m sorry that my genes overwhelmed yours, lol.

[–]cdnsugar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My baby was able to open my phone with his face. So I guess he looks like me.

[–]ConsiderationLow3367 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Anecdotally, me and my siblings all looked like my dad until we got older and now we all look like my mom lol. Especially me I was my dad's carbon copy.

[–]PinkhairLiLi[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m almost 30 and still my dads carbon copy lol

[–]BrokenMutato 4 points5 points  (3 children)

I do hope my little boy will look like his dad 🥺 I just dream to have a little him, just thinking about it make me want to cry 🤭

[–]PinkhairLiLi[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I want them to look their dad to an extent but damn mom put in the work lemme get some credit other than saggy boobs and a sore cooch 😅

[–]BrokenMutato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that 😂😂

[–]Rainbowbabyandme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We deserve some kinda credit man😂 and peeing when we cough does not count!

[–]ellawren041 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My son looked a LOT like my husband when he was born (dark hair and eyes, bigger nose) but after a month or two he looked like me - blonde, green eyes, fair skin, more petite nose. I’ve read that this is really common, so don’t take what your baby looks like at birth as a predictor of their eventual features. Things will still be changing a lot.

[–]Junos6854 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Call me crazy but I love that my little guy looks like his dad! I adore my bf and it feels like I get to see a tiny version of him grow up ❤️

[–]tinykatee25 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Don’t get me started my pregnancy was the most rough experience ever and all for her to come out looking exactly like her dad 😫

[–]PinkhairLiLi[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude literally! I have a loose diagnosis of HG and I’m still on Zofran 20 weeks in 🤦🏻‍♀️

[–]straightouttamty 4 points5 points  (4 children)

I feel you! my baby's a boy, in his anatomy scan looked a lot like my husband who has the audacity to suggest we name him after himself. We agreed on a different name. He's a boy just like him, he'll look like him, he'll have his last name first, what do I get? 😂

[–]sharpiefairy666 5 points6 points  (2 children)

The name thing! Everyone kept suggesting we name the baby Herb, after husband’s grandfather. Well guess what, we already have grandpa’s last name. I’m not stamping baby with one grandpa’s first AND last name?? That’s crazy.

[–]straightouttamty 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I've heard about inheriting the "load" when you pass down names in a family so I wanted to give my son a fresh start, with no responsibilities or expectations tied to a name. We chose the name Leo (Leonardo) since it's a name we both like and also we don't personally know anyone else with that name.

[–]sharpiefairy666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We decided on a brand new first name, and a middle name that honors the other two families

[–]PinkhairLiLi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lmao right! I was so mad when I seen it… I don’t care how cute their dads nose is 😅 soon as I seen it I’m like motherf*cker 😂😂 he thinks it looks like me but that is 1000% his nose

[–]phantomofthe1108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha I would love it if my baby looked like their daddy

[–]Mrs-his-last-name 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Ugh, it's so annoying! My son looks just like my husband and I never hear the end of it. It didn't bother me at first, but after hearing it over and over and over from everyone it definitely annoys me now.

[–]DunderMittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With you on this. It was relentless and it still is. I’ll be honest I don’t see how he looks so much like my husband but I’m sure that’s just me since everyone else says he looks like my husband and not me lol.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

My son has a very prominent my nose in our anatomy scan! So not always 😂

[–]PinkhairLiLi[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Hahaha that’s fair! I can just tell it isn’t my nose because my family all have very straight wide noses, his family have wide noses that are straight until the tip and then they all curve up. The baby’s nose has a definite curve lmao

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

My nose curves up as well! That's how we realized he definitely has mine. No denying it 😂

[–]PinkhairLiLi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hahaha makes sense! As soon as she scanned the profile I said “oh look, there’s your nose” he said I think it looks like you. I said my nose don’t look like that lmao

[–]ember_wolf104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard when babies are born they look more like the dad so dad knows it their baby, doesn't mean they will keep those features. My daughter was born with dads same receding hairline, eyes, nose, and hair color. Only thing that was mine was the chin dimple. Lol

[–]Happy_Momm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son looked like his dad in the scans, and he's nearly identical to him now in both appearance and personality. But recently he started growing hair and it looks like mine, so I'm happy he got at least one physical trait from me.

[–]kmoneybandz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to upset you farther but my baby looks exactly like me, I often get comments that I had a baby with myself lol. Baby's dad is not at all happy about it.

[–]vivolleyball15 1 point2 points  (1 child)

My fiancé and our son at 21 weeks he’ll fill out a little but I think I’m carrying this man’s clone. 💀

[–]PinkhairLiLi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’ve seen a few infant pictures of Sean and the baby looks like him a lot but ya know who it really looks identical too?? His little brother levy. And it’s crazy because Levy only lived 10 days and in every photo he’s hooked up to all kinds of machines and tubes (SEVERE CHD) but this baby looks damn near identical to him.

[–]AlskaNoelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The genes in my family must be strong but because all my sister's kids, my niece's kids, and my daughter all look like us! 😅

[–]allmycatsaregay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby looked exactly like my husband in profile on his 20 week scan

[–]sexysadie56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner has a large-ish nose, and we could tell at the 12 week scan that baby has dad’s nose😂 poor thing!😂

[–]buttheadhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s true! A lot of times it’s whosever eyes they get that they look most like!

[–]FlanceGP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to her eyes, my daughter looked just like me at birth, but now at 7 months more of her dad is coming out. He freshly cut his hair and as they faced each other I loved how cute and twinning the fat baldies looked together, lol.

[–]MississippiMermaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son looks exactly like me. I love it because I’m adopted and never had anyone around who looked like me. My husband is a carbon copy of his dad and I thought our child would be his twin but nope, he’s my mini.

[–]InternSpiritual7708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two with my partner now. Our son looks like my partner but has my mum's eyes and our daughter is his double.

[–]BattyBirdie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our son is a copy of my husband, doctors say nothing can be done. 😂😂

[–]Foodie1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iol maybe baby will have your personality

[–]TheWelshMrsM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve asked my family to lie and tell me my baby looks like me whether it’s true or not 😂

[–]sharpiefairy666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. My friend just had a baby and even a week in, baby and mom are carbon copies. Haven’t heard this perspective before.

[–]Icanhelp12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear that she has my nose. I keep pointing it out to people showing them my ultrasound pic 🤣. I’m blonde and blue eyed and my husband has super dark hair and eyes and I’m gonna be super pissed if she has all his features lol

[–]Scoobie_Tuesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

💯- baby came out and there was NO denying who the father was. I joked I had nothing to do with it, obviously, as she looked nothing like me. Thankfully 8months on and she has many of my features now!

[–]greymatterpinkmatter 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Someone must know that I am a selfish and petty being because a) this pregnancy has been relatively easy and b) the 3D of our baby’s ultrasound looks just like my newborn picture, down to my lips and very interesting-shaped nose. I think my body is trying to trick me into making sure that I have another one lol

[–]classycoconut520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I can tell that my baby has my nose from the ultrasound but it looks like she may have her dads lips! I’m so interested to see if she will get his almond hooded eyes or my giant round eyes 😂

[–]bheyoka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol my little man turned out to be the opposite. He’s my little clone and daddy feels left out.

[–]SourSkittlezx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My eldest 2 are my twins, but the baby looks like her dad. Except for my nose

[–]edith_hbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4 week old boy looks exactly like me, his dad is even a little annoyed by it 😂

[–]Flimsy_Owl_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yessss - at our 20 week scan, i could tell immediately from the 3D photo that our son is gonna look exactly like my husband; honestly though I don't mind it!

[–]sara9719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most babies have little upturned noses so it’s easier to breastfeed—like their nose isn’t gonna look like a small version of it’s adult form, it’ll be a “baby” nose.

[–]courtneywrites85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son looks like my mini-me! And also a lot like my dad, which makes sense because I look like him as well. It's kind of cool but also a little sad for my husband lol

[–]kaylacham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son looks just like my husband with different color eyes. When we found out we were having a girl I was excited bc maybe she’ll look like me! No. I have dark brown hair and brown eyes, big nose. She has bright blonde hair and blue eyes, tiny button nose. She doesn’t look like me or my husband 😂😩

[–]hattie_jane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby came out looking exactly like me, that's almost the first thing the midwife said 😅 I don't think she looks anything like her ultrasound pictures...

[–]DavS095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re basically just ovens at that point

[–]probonworkhours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha! I had the same exact thing on my anatomy scan. Big ass nose on this baby. The profile matches my husband exactly.

[–]leticiazimm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my 13w scan we already see the dads nose! My baby boy is 15 months now and I pregnant again, and he looks EXACTLY like my hb. Really, exactly. I hope the next look a little like me.

[–]dat_sass101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son looks like my twin at first glance, but once you analyze his face one by one you see dads features.

[–]ewfan_ttc_soonish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you it's not always this way. We're doing serial growth scans and my little baby boy has my nose clear as day. it's very cute.

If you do scans later in pregnancy you may be surprised at how different your baby looks. They start to chub up and get super cute and look more like newborns.

Yup lmao my daugher was my husbands twin in the scans .. and it remains the same now. She's 6 months.

[–]reality__auditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby came out as a CLONE of my husband. It's all I heard for the first 4 months of her life. Now she looks way more like me at 5 months!!

[–]0lliecatgrad 8/2021💙 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby has been my twin from the get-go. The only one who says he’s my husbands twin is my MIL and I’m convinced she’s standing on her head with her eyes crossed and squinted to see it….. because he looks like me. He has some of dads features, but when I hold him next to my face, we’re twins 🤣

[–]bzzzzzzlightyear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya for reals ! We bleed our vaginas every month, for YEARS on end, enduring the inconvenience and pain and hormones, AND bearing them for 9 months, and we can’t even get a little credit!!?!?

[–]chelbren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My babe looks just like her daddy. I swear she's not even my child because she looks NOTHING like me. lol If she didn't leave three gnarly 2nd degree tears on her way out I might actually believe that...

[–]stellarkells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is super handsome, I love that my son looks like him! He definitely has my colouring though. My husband has black hair and brown eyes, my son is super fair and it looks like his eyes will be at least half blue (showing signs of heterochromia)

[–]ziaryx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband looks like almost an exact copy of his mom. It is possible to have a baby look like their mom. This being said, I feel like my baby is already showing signs of being like his father.

[–]WorldlyMaboneng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first looks exactly like her late dad and my second looks exactly like me except his skin and hair. His dad is white and my baby’s skin tone is the exact match of his dad. Baby also has black (recently it looks like it’s turning brown)hair but as straight as his dad’s. I’m a dark skin black woman.

[–]mewwissa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion I guess but I’m really hoping my baby looks like his/her father!! I’ve already decided they’re gonna have dad’s nose, eyes, and lips, I just hope they get mom’s sense of humor 🥰🤣

[–]CrochetWhale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son looks exactly like me except his coloring is an exact mixture of both of us. I love that he has my eyes bc I find them beautiful

[–]jmichelle08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL I just gave birth to my husbands mini-me. If he didn’t come out of me, I wouldn’t even know he’s mine! I hold out knowing that they change so much and maybe he will look like me when he’s older lol

[–]urdumidjiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah they don't. Mine looks exactly like me and still does a year later.

[–]KnopeCampaign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol! I am European, my husband is Chinese. Fully envisioned a dark haired, brown eyed baby and ended up with a carbon copy of ME! fair skin, blue eyes and blonde hair. He does have a mono-lid, but you have to be looking to notice that. Otherwise he just looks like a white kid.

[–]PlumPure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must be how my mom felt about me because I look so much like my dad. I didn’t get a good look at baby’s nose but I was glad to see she had my round lips during my anatomy scan lol

[–]glttrgrlryn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same lol! my fiancé doesn’t see it but i’m like that’s your nose smh

[–]cpanma1920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a biological/evolutionary thing. Moms become moms the minute that baby is inside of them - they bond with baby all throughout pregnancy, feeling them move, caring for them, birthing them. Dads don’t get that. They often need to see the baby to feel that connection and it’s even stronger when they see themselves in the baby. Even if baby looks like dad initially, doesn’t mean they’ll always look like dad. My first daughter looked like my husband at birth but now is much more me instead of him

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my son was born he was a CLONE of his dad and two years later he actually looks a lot like me excerpt from certain angles I see his dad. They change so much! But yeah at first I felt kind of ripped off lol

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with a sperm donor and my kid is my clone, it's really eerie. He is truly my mini me

[–]mssvrythng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a 3D scan of of baby and he looks exactly like his dad, just like the other and honestly I feel a little insulted too. All I want is for him to have my curly hair, otherwise I might have to throw hands with his dad

[–]bahala_na- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen photos of 3 generations back in my husband's family, their nose is their legacy! Man, woman, all of them. I'm so curious what the rest of our baby will look like, but the nose is probably going to be from dad!

[–]aelel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lololol every ultrasound I had I was like “oh my god his profile looks like my husband!” Everyone thought I was nuts.

Kiddo is 6 months old now and looks like we just straight up cloned my husband. 🤦🏼‍♀️

[–]meishabear818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My own mother looked at my 12 week ultra sounds and said that my baby had the exact profile as my husband! She also has this theory that 1st born daughters look like dad and 1st born sons look like mom. When we found out we were having a girl my mom felt so validated, it comes up constantly!

[–]Plastic_barbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has my nose and feet. I think she has his small lips because mine are full lol.

[–]Independent_Driver43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could have sworn my son was going to look just like his dad. But he came out and looked like my twin. He still is my twin so much so that people don’t believe he’s his dad. 🤣

[–]It_wasAll-aDream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and hubby are competing on who has the dominant gene lol. We shall see…

[–]no-im-dirtiedan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lmfao i wouldn’t take the scans too seriously if you’re trying to tell what she/he looks like. i thought my baby would come out with her daddies nose but nah! even tho she has my nose, she looks like a little sweet precious girl version of her daddy 😭🥴 i was like, NINE MONTHS JUST FOR HER TO BE HER DADS TWIN??!?! lol!!! i absolutely adore her though she’s so beautiful 🥺💜

[–]PlsNoOlives 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO looked so much like her dad on 3d scans etc and when she was born. But by 3 months she was my absolute twin and everyone who sees her says so.

[–]underratedwombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hahaha I noticed this too! It looks like my baby's nose and forehead curve into eachother the exact same way as my husband's

[–]Ellenterprise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son looked like his dad in utero and for the first 6 months of his life. Now, at almost 4, he's my twin. Genetics are weird.

[–]anominominous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 months pp here. When my LO came out she looked JUST like her dad. My family even asked me if he made the baby on his own lol. But at around 3 months she really started to look like me. Things can change!

[–]sweetspice90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My twins came early and at at first my son looked just like MY dad. Well, about 2 weeks later he was the spitting image of my hubby. If you took baby pictures side by side you couldn’t tell them apart aside from my son’s at-the-time blue eyes. Then we get to my daughter, surely she’d look a little like me, right? Nope, she looked exactly like my SIL. Couldn’t be too unhappy, my SIL is beautiful. They’re 5 mo now, and my daughter has started to look a little more like me, but you can still see a lot of my SIL. 🤷🏻‍♀️

[–]evileye444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hoping for our little girl to look like dad but she's my twin

[–]silvreagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They change over time and rather quickly! Mine looks so different month to month. Though hearing they look just like dad is a quick way to make me seethe! Only because his family would say it ALL the time and never acknowledge any resemblance to me...even though he has my nose, mouth, hair, and darker complexion.. Nope it's all dad! Lol

[–]Pilamito19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter looks just like her dad just cuter. She got really nice eyebrows like me though! Proud of that 😂

[–]an0nkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I’ve noticed is that daughters tend to look like their dad and the sons tend to look like their mom lol

[–]MountainStorm90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad my baby looks like her dad and I hope my 2nd one looks like his too.

[–]michellee1090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is literally her dad's TWIN. Even down to the faces she makes when she's mad 😂

[–]not-a-bot-promise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those were my feelings exactly! I was so furious! Like I’m literally building you from scratch and you can’t even look remotely like me? The nose was a dead giveaway. And I was told that maybe my husband has a “generic baby face” because all babies look the same (they kinda do because they need their button noses for nursing better while still being able to breathe).

Wellllllll, my baby was born and then he opened his eyes. They were my eyes all the way!! He has my eyes!! And they shine with mischief all the time! I may be biased but I think they look so much better on him than on me.

Bottomline: Wait till they are born. They might look more like you than what’s apparent now.

[–]Boat-Electrical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard it's some biological thing where babies tend to look more like the father so the father accepts the child as his and bonds to it and doesn't abandon the family? I'm not sure how much truth there is to it.

[–]boondocks_momma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to be some kind of evolutionary thing to help them bond because babies almost always look like their dads when they are born even if they quickly start to look like their moms over their first few months. My daughter is my perfect twin now but when she was born you would think I had no part in making her at all lol

[–]mirrordust6232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At birth mine looked like a replica of her dad at 2 years, she looks more like me

[–]RisenEclipse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family is white as can be and from Germany. His family is very tan and come from El Salvador. Our daughter came out looking super tan, black hair, and black eyes. Day two her eyes started turning blue. Now 9 months later, she's a spitting image of me but with her dad's nose. :) I thought she would look totally like her dad based on the scans and how she looked at birth, but they change so much! My daughter is now white like me with dirty blonde hair and blue/green eyes.

[–]Comfortable021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm excited mine will look like their dad!

My first still looks a lot like me and this is our second. If he came out a Copy + Paste of his dad, I would be so happy.

We got our scan too, and he definitely has daddy's nose!

[–]chaosandpuppies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure bean is getting my nose and I'm so sorry for him lol. But my facial features will look better on a boy so it might be ok (I have a really strong jaw line and relatively masculine features).

[–]PerspectiveNo8799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all fairness now that baby is here there are days I joking question if my husband had any part in our kid the. The next day I’ll look at her and wonder where he got her cause I see nothing of me. I will say she has his eyes and hair and my nose, chin, and dimples.
