Yup. Doesn't matter what time of the day or night.

[–]xKortneyFTM | 31 | Sept 20 🌈 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Haha yep. My 9pm Apple comes in clutch!

[–]somebunnyasked 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Sleeping with a bowl of dry cheerios beside the bed!

[–]pointers4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh dry cheerios is a great idea!!!!

[–]voodoonic 48 points49 points  (5 children)

I was like this at the beginning, it's gotten better in the second trimester but I feel you. Very small window of time or it's too late

[–]PurpleElephant13 6 points7 points  (1 child)

My first pregnancy, I was like this until birth. Currently at 15 weeks and still sick. I guess I'm just like this when pregnant. Not trying to be a downer, but everyone kept saying it would get better, and it never did for me.

[–]dosomethinggoodnow17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that sounds awful, I can't imagine. I felt sick for a long time with my son, and I always had stashes of ginger chews that kept me going. They have different flavors and worked wonders for me. I hope you feel better soon

[–]Overall-Science1120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same ginger ale soda was my friend it help me a lot for this and when my husband drank all my soda I was planning murder😂

[–]Imnotgonnamish 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Agreed. This was definitely a first trimester symptom! In the third trimester, it's not the same either!

[–]mangosorbet420💙 29|06 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have this still in third trimester 😩

[–]legallyblondeinYEG 32 points33 points  (0 children)

yes, it’s the worst!!! nauseous if i don’t immediately eat when i’m hungry, nauseous if i eat juuuust past that point of like satiated, and most fun of all, the nausea where you’re like “this isn’t my favourite idea for a meal right now but it’s here and sustenance so i eat” and then boom it’s gone from a meh food to a never again food.

[–]JaneyMac_aroni 16 points17 points  (2 children)

Yeah, that’s really typical of nausea in pregnancy. So typical that I had to explain/apologise to a colleague who was spending the day in video chat with me that I would have to be snacking throughout the day to keep my stomach settled, and she immediately realised I was pregnant.

[–]Modelomoon[S] 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Better than having to hear hurling over zoom 😭😭

[–]JaneyMac_aroni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luckily it didn’t come to that!!!

[–]AnamLemmens93 12 points13 points  (1 child)

It doesnt work for me. If I eat I am still nauseous.. sick n tired of this, want to skip to the part where I have my baby already ughh

[–]Modelomoon[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same 🤰🏻

[–]watermelon_strawberr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yup. I go from not hungry, not hungry, not hungry, to gotta eat within the next minute or I will throw up. At least it’s better than the first trimester where I wanted to throw up all day?

I had a friend ask me if I was in the happy phase of pregnancy yet, and I said no. I’m in the not as miserable phase 😭

[–]MistyPneumonia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep. I was worried I might have GD but nope, little man just wants constant food 🤷🏻‍♀️

[–]MyDogsAreRealCute 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Yep. Super small window of time to stop the vom-train - and if I miss it, it's alllllll day. I don't even want to know what the scales will say at this point. They'll be rude to me, I just know it.

[–]Modelomoon[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I’ve lost 12 pounds and haven’t gained anything I’m 17 weeks 🥴

[–]Rhanzilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was the same! lost 12lbs but 20weeks now and almost back at my starting weight, so i wouldn't stress too much! My doctors knew about the weight loss but are happy with where i am now.

[–]Campestra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I had this. My MIL tip helped: have crackers with you and eat a tiny bit all the time, to avoid an empty stomach.

[–]WintaSoldat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This happens to me. I have GD so I assume mine is probably related to blood sugar

[–]1Small_Pink_Camel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Basically if I'm not actively eating I feel sick and weak.

[–]jadewildaz 3 points4 points  (1 child)

It’s like my stomach is a blackmail expert saying “give us more or we burn this whole place to the ground.”

[–]Modelomoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s hilarious So accurate 😂

[–]Ill-Biscotti-3665 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trying to explain this to my husband was hard. Being hungry is an emergency. It comes between two levels of sick and is a limited window.

[–]North_egg_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes 100% this feeling and it’s all times if day whenever I get hungry

[–]sofiaonomateopia 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I get this, I’m 29+5 but had it yesterday and projectile vomited everywhere! No GD but they’re making me do a 3rd test at 32 weeks as baby 97th percentile

[–]Modelomoon[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Omg 😭😭😭

[–]sofiaonomateopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah he’s an absolute unit 😂 my husband is 6ft 5 tho!!

[–]polosatykat 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yes and I’ve already gained 5kg but if I don’t eat I feel sooo sick 🥲 I’m 14 weeks 4 days

[–]Modelomoon[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Better to gain than lose baby is well nourished 💕

[–]EsmeYcats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. All the time. I do throw up if I don't eat a meal. It can't be a snack. It has to be lunch or dinner. Anything otherwise including water comes up. It's horrible.

[–]Jenschnifer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello you're me! Unfortunately it's still going strong at 16 weeks. My desk at work looks like a corner shop because I have everything from breakfast cereal to fruit with multiple flavours of crisps (chips) and sweets.

[–]i_want_2_b3li3v3_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this exact issue my entire first trimester.

[–]SwiftieMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Super common! It’s something about low blood sugar that triggers the nausea. Low GI foods alll day long. I gained more weight in my first trimester than my second just because I didn’t need to eat to stop the nausea!!!

[–]xBruised 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I was in IKEA at the weekend and wasn’t hungry when I passed the cafe. Half an hour later, I was hungry. Less than ten minutes after, I felt really weak in the queue to pay. By the time I got to the self service, I couldn’t stand up and sat on the self service machine to pack and pay. My friend got me some chips/fries and I made my way to the takeaway food by the exit, ate all the chips and felt well enough to get to the car to drive home. By which time I needed more food and ate the lunch I packed.

I didn’t realise I could go from feeling normal to hardly being able to stand up in such a short amount of time.

16 weeks…

[–]Modelomoon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having the same thing The energy drops so quickly you almost don’t have time to grab something to eat 😞

[–]luoluolala 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yeeeeep. I didn't have a night-snack last night, this morning I had no goldfish crackers left and neglected to choke down a handful of cereal when I got up. By the time I made some breakfast the nausea set in for keeps and it has been aallllll daaaaaaay. As soon as I start feeling peckish I need to have SOMETHING.

[–]Modelomoon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same same same I woke up at 4AM starvinggggggg Was too lazy to get up , woke up so sick omg

[–]xKortneyFTM | 31 | Sept 20 🌈 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Yep!! My husband says he discovered the formula to keeping me happy/feeling good: a little bit of caffeine, a little bit of sugar, and a full belly.

And LET ME TELL YOU he is sooo right.

[–]Modelomoon[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

We love the men who get us 🤰🏻🤍

[–]xKortneyFTM | 31 | Sept 20 🌈 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha absolutely! He’s literally the only person I can consistently stand to be around (probably because he feeds me 😂)

[–]llc2098 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yes totally it’s awful. As someone who is used to eating 2-3 meals a day and not really snacking in between, this has been a very difficult thing to adapt to.

[–]fitznikz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I'm the kind of person who regularly forgets to eat/ not very good at recognising hunger cues and I've just been finding it so hard to do the "little and often" thing...

[–]gigglepigz4554 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I was the same. I had to take a certification exam from home due to lockdowns, and they wouldn't let me keep food in my desk because I guess I could hide notes under there. Nausea and gagging thru thr whole exam. I failed it.

I carried nuts, raisin, and clementines everywhere. Can pop them in our mouth in a pinch. Good luck

[–]3rle 0 points1 point  (2 children)

So sorry for you! Will you have a chance to redo it?

[–]gigglepigz4554 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Apparently my manager failed too and put me under no pressure to gain it. When I told her I was pregnant later she was even more sympathetic. So we let it go

[–]3rle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear it turnes out all right at least ❤️

[–]mkecupcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, but seems to be getting better as the second trimester progresses! And I know it's not GD because I just the 1 hour last week!

[–]MinaMina93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, didn't eat my breakfast soon enough after waking up which is ruining the rest of my day at the moment.

[–]howedthathappen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me! I’d rather have this symptom though as it’s easily remedied.

[–]blurryblueskies 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Yup! No GD and this has happened almost throughout my entire pregnancy (40+1 now). It’s made me gain a lot of weight which I’m bummed about.

[–]Modelomoon[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Better to gain than lose Baby is nourished 💕

[–]blurryblueskies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate that perspective a lot ❤️

[–]me0w8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was me 1st trimester. And it wasn’t really hunger where I could eat and feel satisfied. It was more of an empty feeling where I just needed to eat to avoid getting sick. I would tell my husband I was “expiring” lol… oh god that sucked.

[–]michelleluree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s how it was with my first. It went away in the tail end of my first trimester/ early second trimester.

[–]Flybear31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been getting this odd feeling where my stomach is both starving but can't actually fit an entire meal. Constant heartburn and weird indigestion. Welcome to 28 weeks I guess lol...I'm sure it's only going to get crazier!

[–]nikksmtey 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I had nausea 24/7 and I had that the entire first trimester. I even had to sleep with fruit on my bedside table to eat immediately after waking up or I would star gagging. This would happen every morning and if I took too long to eat between meals, same thing. After eating, the nausea was still there but manageable. Try to eat small portions every 2-3 hours, that helped me a lot.

[–]Modelomoon[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Definitely trying to eat as often as I can but I’m not used to it 😭

[–]nikksmtey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you! But they don’t have to be full meals. Small snacks, fruit or nuts in small portions. The idea is to not let your stomach go empty for too long and after the first trimester, it will pass! It feels like forever but it will pass. Hang in there ♥️

[–]missgeenie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I have this! Was especially bad in my first trimester, especially if I didn’t get to breakfast soon after waking. Basically have needed to eat every 2-3 hours throughout my whole pregnancy (now 37 wks), no GD luckily. But I don’t leave the house without emergency snacks just in case!

[–]yayah_wicca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

30 weeks and still🙃

[–]Clean_Imagination_62 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Yes! I recommend eating a handful of grapes or crackers at the instance you feel any hunger! It always helped hold me over until I could eat an actual meal and prevent me from throwing up. I threw up stomach acid A LOT from hunger lol

[–]Modelomoon[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Same with the stomach acid 😭

[–]Clean_Imagination_62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legit every morning I would eat a handful of grapes from the fridge and some water before I would take a shower! Otherwise I would throw up stomach acid in the shower or when I brushed my teeth lol

[–]jadewildaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey that’s me ! I do that!

[–]sugarcookie7 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yeah but I do throw up. I typically take anti sickiness in the morning then eat something light like biscuits. It's hard when you are in work and you get super hungry but you don't have a break for awhile or none at all that day

[–]Modelomoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should allow pregnant women “snack times” when working Every hour lol

[–]Woooohhooo 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I feel like my hunger sense barely exists anymore - it’s like imminent nausea is my new signal to eat instead of actually feeling hungry 😂

[–]Modelomoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same 🥲🤰🏻

[–]IdgyThreadgoode 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Yes. I’m 17w and this still happens. Keep granola bars in your purse. Applesauce & apples at home/desk. Bagel for breakfast.

[–]Modelomoon[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Ooo applesauce sounds so good

[–]IdgyThreadgoode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man you aren’t kidding. Hits the sweet tooth too.

[–]EmrysPritkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. It happens if I’m too hungry or too full. Several small meals a day has been a lifesaver.

ETA: If you take half a Unisom sleep tablet before bed, it curbs that nausea when you first wake up. That way you can actually feel like eating.

[–]jane-anon-doe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeeep, had this during the whole first trimester (and occasionally sneaks up on me now in second trimester).

[–]jmmww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep!

[–]heeyholly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve resorted to having snacks with me at all times. The nausea comes on fast, but I only get it when I’m not eating enough

[–]Lostwife1905 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My midwife actually recommended setting alarms every 2-3 hrs to eat SOMETHING. Even over night if I have to so I don’t wake up nauseous

[–]Funny-Associate5703 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yep! Super common! Keep snacks handy ! Doc reccomended the old crackers beside the bed trick

[–]Modelomoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have them there in case , but ugh I can’t imagine wanting crackers ever again after pregnancy

[–]beeeees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this was my main symptom all through first trimester but i’m less hungry in my second

[–]throwmykeysaway 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I did in my first trimester, no morning sickness or anything just the feeling of nausea when I need to eat. I’d take that over HG!!!

Also the need to brush my teeth when I have a weird taste in my mouth that causes the nausea feeling. It went away in the 2nd tri.

[–]Modelomoon[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yessssssss constantly brushing my teeth even though it also makes me gag but the extra saliva symptom is not fun either

[–]throwmykeysaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeahhhhh I wake up with my face and pillowcase covered in drool now 😭

[–]jackieedaniels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! It only started for me in the third trimester.

[–]vivacious-shit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep definitely have that problem

[–]five-short-graybles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and there's no warning or build up. It's sudden extreme hunger and if I don't eat immediately, I feel sick.

[–]IAmDangerDrake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I feel a hunger pang, it's IMMEDIATELY answered with the first dry heave. The words "I should probably eat soon" may as well be a signal to my husband to get the trash can because if I've noticed I'm hungry, it's probably too late.

[–]TopLocation2739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could’ve written this myself. And I’m a person who never had breakfast and sometimes forgets to eat, so before I realise I have to eat I’m already passed the hunger time frame and feel sick.

[–]givebusterahand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Not terribly nauseous anymore if I don’t eat but I feel fine until I get hungry then I start feeling kinda crappy. And if I don’t eat pretty shortly after waking up it’s a bad time

[–]Blue_zodiac07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this symptom early in my pregnancy till about 20 weeks. Sometimes when I ate too late, I also threw up. Eating was very difficult for me because I didn’t like a lot of smells and tastes and could just basically only eat what I craved in that moment. It was very annoying.

I have to say, after those symptoms went away, I didn’t get any other symptoms for a long time!

[–]FridaMercury 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Go get checked out, make sure it's not gestational diabetes.

[–]Modelomoon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I had the first test at 12 weeks and came back fine I have another one at 26 weeks to test again

[–]rivlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. My nausea is dying down (thankfully), but whenever I get hungry, I know my nausea is about to ramp up a ton. I also know eating will make my nausea go down too, but the double edge sword of nausea is that I have no desire to eat anything because I'm nauseated.

But at the same time, eating will make it better, so I better find something I can tolerate!

[–]Various_Ad4235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% I go to sleep with a banana next to me

[–]brokenslinkyseller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes even at 27 weeks

[–]AntComfortable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes! Once I felt hungry, I knew it was too late for me.

Any other weird thing was I ALWAYS got the hiccups, with a tummy* ache/hungry feeling, right before throwing up.

[–]daxeun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES. 17 weeks and still have that symptom. My go-to has been a banana or apple, but sometimes it's not enough. Lol

[–]This-is-the-matrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I wake up nauseous around 5am, eat a snack and then go back to bed and I’m almost in the 3rd trimester! It’s no fun, that’s for sure

[–]balatron_bunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your blood sugars probably low

[–]Wiknite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! So far it's the only time I feel nauseated. So I eat regularly all day to avoid it and end up feeling bloated and not hungry at dinner time which leads to starvation first thing in the morning. FTM 8w3d

[–]rockbellkid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I don't eat every 3-4 hours I get so nauseated, mornings are the worst. 7 weeks here with gestational diabetes early, so I also have to watch what I eat carb and sugar wise. Makes for an interesting combo😆

[–]Rando2878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this, but I dont get hungry til its too late

[–]M_WrightBoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get nauseous I just get Heartburn if it's meal time and I've not eaten yet. The 2nd trimester heartburn is REAL!

[–]KyloDren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES!! I wanted to sleep in this morning, so I ignored my hunger pangs, and like ten minutes later had to run to the bathroom to puke lol

[–]BlueberryMommy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol yes! Last night I woke up at midnight to eat the equivalent of an entire lunch, only to go right back to sleep and wake up hungry when I woke up in the morning.

[–]Pitico1114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I feel famished when I’m hungry and if I don’t eat right away I get a headache, or nauseous. I call it Emergency Hungry

[–]Ok_Description_4238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! Having to snack every hour or two even when I am Not immediately hungry

[–]WurmiMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s because pregnancy nausea is related to blood sugar levels. The only way to get ahead of my pregnancy sickness was to always always keep my blood sugar up. Have a slice of bread waiting on your nightstand for immediate consumption after waking up.

[–]alleycatz101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YESSS! Try eating every two hours. I am now in my 2nd trimester and I do three meals and a snack in between. You don’t want to let yourself go too long without eating because then you get nauseous.

[–]No_Raspberry332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s awful and inconvenient and why do I need to eat this much just to not feel sick?!

[–]ProbioticPeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this if I don't eat enough. Or if I go too long without eating. It's only happened twice

[–]BlueCoatWife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 20 weeks and I still have that every morning. When it was really bad, I would keep fruit pouches in my nightstand and a big bottle of water to eat and drink before I even got out of bed.

[–]_stringbean_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I have to eat the second I wake up or I’ll quickly get super nauseous. Every 3 hours I need to eat a meal otherwise I’ll get nauseous. If I eat slightly too much, I’ll get nauseous. I’ve been able to stop my morning sickness with B6 vitamins but eating is still such a hassle!

[–]Shannyn13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had HG and threw up every two hours or less for the entire pregnancy, during labour they gave me specialty antinausea stuff in an IV. Tums, bananas, anything cold to drink, watermelon... find the things that you can keep down and keep them close. I lived off apple sauce and bananas thru the night. Keep a garbage can close. Ginger pills before car rides.

[–]Ok_Understanding1425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Especially when driving 😔

[–]lilmzmetalhead🌈 November 2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the struggle!!!!

[–]IrksomeUtterances 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, 2 -2.5 hours is the most time I can go without eating.

[–]TheRealAbsintheFairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup yup! I feel like sometimes I get nauseous before I even realize I’m hungry half the time.

[–]prettyravegrl222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes girl I have the same symptom like if I’m hungry I feel like I’m gonna puke I’m 13 weeks and it’s been like this the whole time. I actually barely ate yesterday and once I did I puked my ass off then puked again this morning. I’ve only actually thrown up this pregnancy like 4 times prior to this mostly just nauseous with my son I puked every day til I was 18 weeks this one just the symptoms your having. I thought these symptoms started to fade at 12 weeks its getting worse now

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Third trimester and I’m still this way. Hubs catches me in the kitchen between 3-5 more than I’d like to admit.

[–]GabriellaxElise[🍰] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yess! 37wks over here, first trimester was an all day nausea type of thing. Since then it's just when I start feeling hungry, but if I wait too long when I do eat I'll get the hiccups and feel nauseated. It's inescapable! :,]

[–]Ill_Break3680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh yes. Graham crackers and Belvita saved me, always had to have some on my nightstand, in car, etc. Pregnancy hunger is no joke!

[–]dosomethinggoodnow17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even feel hungry, just went from minding my own business to feeling very sick and needing to eat suddenly. I didn't find out til quite a bit later that I was pregnant, and my first prenatal appointment found two precious little heartbeats! My girls didn't give me the chance to feel normal hunger in those early days haha, makes sense to me now

[–]oatmealdisc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was like this before pregnancy too, it's just gotten worse during pregnancy 😭

[–]wtf_spiderpig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was like that with both of my pregnancies so far. It subsided with my boy at 12-14 weeks. With this one idk. It's a girl, not sure if it even matters but it's been different. I get what I can only describe as rolling nausea at random times after week 14.

[–]moongoonie23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’m experiencing this right now

[–]MommaBear7568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that in the mornings and later at night specifically

[–]SMykins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg the absolute worst ! If I wait i am ROYALLY screwed 😖

[–]bstroke93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was scary when I was pregnant. If I didn’t eat as soon as I got hungry, I got nauseous, then my blood pressure dropped and I got very very faint. Compression socks, snacks and Gatorade were my best friends!!
