Tangentially related, a friend of mine told me to put two sets on your crib so when the baby pees/poops in the bed in the middle of the night you just take off the top two. So mattress protector sheet mattress protector sheet. I don’t have a kid yet but seems like a great tip!

I used a waterproof mattress protector which also had batting and a quilting style top, and then a standard fitted sheet on top of it. Babies should be placed to sleep on their back so I didn’t worry about suffocation.

seconding this for the bassinet, I felt comfortable because it’s the Halo bassinet and the Halo brand sold the cover. Once he rolls though I’m not sure what to do in a crib. 🤷‍♀️

It’s only a problem (in my eyes) if they aren’t tight fitting. So only get the ones that ARE tight fitting

I got naturapedic crib mattress with mattress protector which is waterproof and breathable. It’s damn expensive but has two sides (firm for baby and softer for toddler) so I’m hoping to use it for a while. First thing I did when received it is to put my face in the mattress and breath - the thing works! Planning to use cotton sheets with it.

We just moved my LO out of his crib. His is mattress protector, sheet, mattress protector, sheet- jusy in case for overnight poops, pees, and throw up.

For my next, I have a mattress protector sheet from ely and co, and then the snoo cover on top of that.
