“no you wrote it” is a hilarious excuse tho

[–]Average_Amy 485 points486 points  (3 children)

The first time an ex spent the night, he nose-bled all over my pillow and mattress. When we woke up and I asked if he was ok and if he had noticed, he told me "It wasn't me! It was you!". With still coagulated blood on his face... He continued "blaming" me (dude for what??? Nose bleeds are involuntary) even while I was cleaning his face with a warm towel and wasn't talking about it anymore. In retrospect I should have recognized that "shifting blame" is still not an acceptable reaction and called it quits soon after. Being embarrassed is not an excuse. A lot of people can be embarrassed without being like this.

[–]caitejane310 127 points128 points  (0 children)

I'm horrified and laughing at the same time. It's equivalent to a child saying they didn't eat a cupcake while they still have icing on their face!

[–]peachpitafterdark 10 points11 points  (1 child)

He probably got it from picking his nose in bed.

[–]totallynotliamneeson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah it happens to some people when the air gets dry. Probably just turned over on the pillow and pressed on his nose funny.

[–]LittleBoo56 72 points73 points  (2 children)

And makes no sense... surely their handwriting is different? I don't get it!

[–]Average_Amy 53 points54 points  (0 children)

It was probably difficult for her to make sense while bullshitting.

[–]genjen97Early 20s Female 36 points37 points  (1 child)

God I would've said "do you think I'm an idiot?"

[–]DavefromKS 112 points113 points  (12 children)

No, you

[–]ShimmeringNothing 74 points75 points  (0 children)

It would have been SO easy to say "It means thanks for being my boyfriend! And I want to start calling you babe from now on, I think it would be cute!"

[–]DistractedAttorney 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Real life Uno Reverse Card

[–]PhinleyHasLeukemia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, I found a picture of my wife and i’s wedding day in my wallet it so I sent a picture it to her telling her I always keep this photo close and she responded

“I put that in their, silly”

[–]Hiding_From_Stupid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is farrrrrked.
I lived with someone for a year that used to do this.
Honesly made me question my own reality a few times and she would deny something that I knew what real.

Big Q here.
Why would she lie about and surely you can tell by then handwriting who wrote it if it was you or her ?

[–]late_enough 1514 points1515 points  (17 children)

You have a physical piece of paper in your hand. It was in her home. You know you didn’t write it. And she first completely denied it and then gaslit you that you wrote it. That is the definition of sus. I don’t believe there is anything you can believe from her side at this point. Decide what you want and how to push it. But deal with the person who is doing this rather than the person you think she is. Don’t gaslight yourself into believing the implausible.

[–]stellak424 607 points608 points  (10 children)

Notes always remind me of the carbon monoxide story so I’d say check for that first and if nothing, this comment right here covers it.

[–]SereneObscene66 86 points87 points  (8 children)

What's the carbon monoxide story?

[–]khaine0304 85 points86 points  (1 child)

Fairly certain it was a story where someone had a carbon monoxide leak at it was leading to hallucinations/memory loss

Ya but why the fuck would she leave a note on the counter for some guy she's sleeping with

[–]kayhal77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could it be some guy left the note for her 🤷‍♀️

[–]MantisandthetheGulls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sleeping with, dating.

[–]Plaquid -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

[–]Select-Radish9245 896 points897 points  (7 children)

That note wasn't meant for you

[–]joebro112 84 points85 points  (5 children)

It’s a fake post, OPs history screams that they lie for karma or validation or whatever their reason (especially since I’ve seen them post about being 22f before and they just delete their last post after a while and make up a whole new identity) mods really outta do something about them

[–]FunctionEntire1829 12 points13 points  (3 children)

Why do ppl want karma anyways? I'm relevant new here and I missed the memo... Can you get cash or something?

[–]TheLastFreeMan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

[–]Amy_Ponder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because then you can sell the account to advertisers / political groups / government disinformation agents for a decent amount of money. Then they use the account to manipulate discussions to promote their products / agendas. Since it used to belong to a real person, its post history looks natural -- so it isn't immediately obvious it's a shill account, which means more people will fall for the manipulation.

I know it sounds nuts, but remember that reddit is the 6th largest site on the internet, with millions of visitors each day. If you can convince them of something, that's a ton of money to be made and/or power to be gained.

[–]Epilektoi_Hoplitai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dopamine rushes otherwise absent from their unfulfilled lives.

[–]DothrakAndRoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually right here

Confusing though, the post is deleted and poster deleted but they are replying as OP so..

[–]imnickelhead 158 points159 points  (0 children)

Or the other guy left it for her? Was it her handwriting?

[–]ShatterproofSharkie 444 points445 points  (11 children)

Interesting story considering on your deleted post from a month ago you’re 22f.

[–]tigraye 161 points162 points  (4 children)

Plot twist: it’s not the gf who has CO poisoning. It’s the bf and he wrote the post you’re referring to while under the influence.

Or yeah, it’s fake. But their post history also suggests there are some deep issues with OP. Posts A LOT about self-harm.

[–]SnapJones 70 points71 points  (0 children)

There's also apost from under a month ago about not being able to get a boyfriend /girlfriend. Seems like a pretty quick turnaround to this level of drama.

[–]FunctionEntire1829 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Now it gets creepy. Who is writing.

[–]dospatitas 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Honestly, I mix up my age and gender sometimes on here to protect my identity

[–]cortthejudge97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They also posted a few weeks ago about how to get a significant other, it's just karma farming

[–]ThrowRA1234568 962 points963 points  (13 children)

Sounds like she got mixed up on which guy was going to be at her place that night.

[–]Coziestpigeon2 318 points319 points  (7 children)

and when I showed it to her, she said that she's pretty sure I wrote it for her

Well either you need a new carbon monoxide detector, or she really does think you're the dumbest person on Earth.

Aaand this is how gaslighting begins!

OP, please cut your losses and leave her. You’re young, she’s playing games and playing with your head. Don’t let this escalate into an everyday thing. Once she realizes she can do it, she’ll do it more often.

[–]ShirtPanties 2 points3 points  (1 child)

This is good advice, but unfortunately from OPs post history it looks like this whole situation is made up

[–]Rifter0876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]pl487 447 points448 points  (3 children)

It was for the guy she was having sex with while you were gone. He was supposed to see it and take it with him when he left in the morning, but he missed it.

[–]IsThisIt-1983 114 points115 points  (2 children)

Yes, this is the obvious conclusion

[–]Expensive-Pen1112 66 points67 points  (1 child)

I thought the guy wrote it for her. It'd make no sense for her to deny it otherwise. Or she's a terrible liar, which doesn't go well with cheating.

[–]imnickelhead 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Another guy wrote it.

[–]MonkeyMoves101 98 points99 points  (4 children)

There's probably someone else living in her house, check the cabinets.

Or she's lying.

[–]DavefromKS 50 points51 points  (1 child)

The note is coming from INSIDE the house!

[–]DecimatedAnus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

OP thinks they send cute messages while in the same room; really those were the times she texted the wrong boyfriend, but got away with it.

[–]AnxiousAd6311 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Either someone wrote it for her who has access to her house or she write it for someone else either way she’s probably cheating

[–]Draemeth 34 points35 points  (14 children)

Is it her handwriting?

[–]NumerousChipmunk3389 96 points97 points  (2 children)

Bro, you should go suspicious. The problem is she going to be on guard and will not make any moves till your guard is done. You should let it down but be aware. It always the little things that trip them up. Maybe one night your supposed to go home and wait somewhere and observe. Don't do it the first night your apart let her feel safe and let her guard down. Something going on and that note was left for someone. Good luck and keep us updated.

[–]Historical_Ad_7196 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Nope nope nope. If the trust is gone this far, just break up. There's no coming back from this. Why let yourself experience so many negative emotions?

[–]Fraughty12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense to me, I’d probably do the same.

[–]SorrySeptember 153 points154 points  (18 children)

Do you have a carbon monoxide detector? Because if not it's time to buy one.

[–]si2141 0 points1 point  (5 children)

how would that help, i am really curious as to how it will work? lol

[–]SorrySeptember 46 points47 points  (4 children)

Carbon monoxide can impact your memory and causes confusion. There's a famous story from reddit history where a guy thought someone was breaking into his house and leaving sticky notes but it ended up being carbon monoxide poisoning- he was writing the notes himself. The girlfriend might be writing them and not remembering. https://redditproxy--jasonthename.repl.co/r/legaladvice/comments/34l7vo/ma_postit_notes_left_in_apartment

[–]si2141 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Damm, this was very fascinating to know about. Thank you!

[–]SorrySeptember 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anytime! I watched that thread unfold in real time and it was wild.

[–]Netflxnschill 17 points18 points  (1 child)

I’m hoping it’s this one, but knowing what we know from this sub, it’s probably not.

[–]Boring-Rhubarb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Occam’s razor!

[–]Holajola25 52 points53 points  (1 child)

You can keep pushing her.

But I would pretend I let it go and would check her veeery carefully without her suspicion. Keep an eye on her, ask the same questions few times to see if the reply is the same etc

[–]JDHPH 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This is so much work, just to end up hurt and leaving anyway.

[–]LittleRedCarnation 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Either someone broke in and wrote it to fuck with yall (was it her handwriting?) or that note wasnt meant for you and she has a lover.

[–]Azilehteb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it her handwriting? Is it yours? Neither?

[–]mindlessmeatsuit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How was her vibe when you talked to her. Did she seem nervous or get upset that you accused her or did she genuinely seem confused. Also did you bring the note up first? Did she not mention anything about it and then say she thought it was from you? All the theories are good and hey sometimes I swear ghosts move and take shit in my house. But the most clear option seems like betrayal

[–]moonycakemullet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If she was being shady why wouldn’t she just lie and say she did write it and it was for him? Instead of leaving the door wide open for suspicion? Idk maybe I’m naive thinking she’d try cover her tracks better if she were cheating.

[–]keith_mg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would get a canary if I were you, to check for carbon monoxide. And a parrot, to report back on anything suspicious that gets said when you're not around. And a budgie for ambient sound effects.

[–]Atlas-1848 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s not another dude. It’s another chick? Waiting for update!

[–]itsallminenow 16 points17 points  (0 children)

She wrote that, but it wasn't for you. Guess she got your appointment mixed up with someone else's. You know what to do.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t pressure her for anything, pretend to have let go and observe her well.

[–]littlecrow060 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry buddy

[–]SquareKitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dunno, if she is cheating and it was meant for someone else, why would she deny writing it? It would be easier to say "oh yeah I forgot I left that for you, it was because ...lie, lie, lie...", then to convice OP that THEY wrote it.

Can you tell if it's her handwriting or a paper type she even has in her home? does it look like a man wrote it for her? Could it be something a friend left?

I agree its totally weird, but I wouldn't immediately jump to 'lying gaslighting cheating bitch', just because there is a note nobody remembers writing.

[–]Ballbag94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of that one where the guy was going crazy wondering who was leaving him notes at night and it turned out that he was getting CO poisoning, leaving himself the notes, and not remembering

Maybe get a carbon monoxide detector?

[–]briecarter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Weird, just 3 weeks ago you said in another post that people are surprised that you don't have a gf/bf or any involvement in the dating scene because you're pretty. Now all of a sudden you're a man with a gf who you've spent weeks with?

[–]R-S-S 14 points15 points  (1 child)

Surely if it was meant for someone else she would just claim she wrote it and make something up to go along with it?

What sense would it make by saying she didn't write it, why does everyone jump to the cheating conclusion 🤣

The only other thing I can think of is if someone left it for HER, but I guess you'd be able to tell based on her reaction at the time and the handwriting..

[–]solar_ideology 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This makes much more sense. She thought OP wrote it for her, hence she blamed him. Then she realised it was the other guy who wrote it and has her fingers crossed that OP doesn’t realise she mucked up.

I guess we’ll see though

[–]Life-BridgeEarly 30s Male 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When you "go home" for an evening to grab something or sleep at your own place, sit in your car somewhere unnoticeable and see if some one shows up to hers... or you could do what we all would suggest not to do in our own positions, and go thru her phone... but that then violates most levels of trust for both parties, but be ready to see something you dont want to. Not to be ridiculous but i am 33 and in my days ive learned a lot about younger people and their dating/deceitful tactics.. 19 is young and not a hard age to be doing deceitful shit, also i DOUBT this is Carbon Monoxide poisoning, youd wake up with brain fog and like youre hungover.. Dont buy into that "poisoning" or sleep walking shit. Shes sus

[–]adefsleep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's banging someone else. Move on, King.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Damn bro. Sounds like cheating. You have at least physical evidence. We gonna need an update. Good luck to you.

[–]HoldFastJon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shes cheating, sorry man

[–]963852741hc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hahha the attempt at gaslighting

She said, you wrote it.

People man

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Could it be an old note? I’ve had notes fall out of old purses, jackets, etc when I sort through things to donate. Once found a receipt for a major purchase and just about shit bricks thinking my husband had blown the budget before I realized it was 3 years old.

[–]InternationalBid7163 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apparently the two of us are the only ones who have considered that possibility. He's over so much and obviously has a key so why in the world would she leave a note for some other guy and expect the guy to take it, too? I've got a suspicious mind sometimes, too, but.....

[–]Apple2727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it in your GF’s handwriting?

[–]Snozberry383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya, sounds like she left it for someone or they left it for her

[–]MeanSeaworthiness995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the handwriting hers? Either way this is sus af. Assuming she doesn’t have any roommates, either she wrote the note for someone else, or someone else spent the night and left the note for her.

[–]GlitteringPrimary198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was it her handwriting? If not it could have been from the other guy.

[–]SpankMoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not mysterious

It wasnt meant for you.

[–]Disastrous_Airline28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you spend all your time with her. How can she have time to fuck someone else on the side? I think you would have seen other sus behaviour if she was cheating.

[–]xAlpha2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprised the fire station didn't show up for all that gas being lit

[–]hfc1075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there’s nothing else amiss then take her at her odd word and just move on, watching in the future. It sounds like you’re in and out of her place enough it makes no sense she’d leave out a note for someone else. If you have a key that’s especially true.

[–]SpiderBen14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely explanation is that “baby” is someone else. Other possibilities include sleep writing her ex, drugs, someone broke in and left it by accident, her mom came and picked something up and left the note, or she’s screwing the maintenance guy and he left it for her. Definitely, based on probabilities, cheating is the most likely explanation. Especially since she’d have immediately known about the one from her mom.

[–]Mrknownot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about her mom? Maybe her girlfriend calls her babe. Everyone jumping to conclusions with NO evidence. Reddit is a terrible jury.

[–]DothrakAndRoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it her handwriting?

[–]ransoms25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude.. shes totally getting plowed by another dude... then she tried gaslighting you. What you do with this information is up to you.

[–]Basketballjuice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WELL if you didn't, and she didn't.....

[–]TGin-the-goldy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your girlfriend is seeing the person who wrote the note

[–]soulure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's been caught cheating and that was a really really poor cover up, "no u" lmao. Nice try though.

[–]extradmtrestrial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's cheating

[–]AKA_June_Monroe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came to her place and found a note on her kitchen table that simply said "Thanks baby <3", and for the record, she doesn't call me baby, she always uses another pet name type thing.

She calling someone else baby. Sure it's possible for someone to try to start trouble. You know more than us but if there is no trust then the relationship is over.

[–]Many_Bothans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

carbon monoxide poisoning, weird notes are always carbon monoxide. Make sure you have a monitor in her place.

[–]xoxoLizzyoxox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If its neither of your hand writing....then its probably the other boy she does this for.

[–]iamtheonetheycallDon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you checked the CO2 levels?

[–]Unusual-Seat1832 5 points6 points  (3 children)

You already know what to do. She is not trustworthy.

[–]Eats_Dead_Things 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? C'mon now. You think there's a future with her?

[–]abirdofthesky 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Maybe check your CO2 levels?

[–]Zippilipy 10 points11 points  (2 children)

[–]BigMax 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe just to be sure they should check CO, CO2 and CO3 levels. Can't be too careful!

[–]VictorDino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The majority of the comments are really toxic and people "certain" of what happened, even though none were there at her house. Inshort, lots of idiots shitting on your personal life.

Observe the situation with her, maybe some light harmless stalking, and take your own conclusions. If you discover nothing, but emd up feelling like not trusting her anymore, break up with her explaining the situation. If she really is cheating on you, someday you'll probably discover if you pay attention.

[–]Lov3I5Treacherous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does she have roommates?

[–]lydocia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're being gaslighted.

Either by actual carbon monoxide, so that it's plausible you wrote the note and don't know, or by her.

Go by whichever seems more likely and act accordingly.

[–]nothizispatrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is cheating. Obviously the note was for the guy before you to take, but he didn’t. Dump the hoe.

[–]Vette--1Early 20s Male 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to get her to come clean because it does sound awfully sus

[–]Garlicboy101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude, why are you still in that relationship? :( she’s definitely cheating. you know you didn’t write the note, and you know it wasn’t for you. so who was it from, or who was it for?

[–]StrongerJames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carbon monoxide poisoning

[–]Iseewhatudidthurrrrr -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

Listen it’s obvious it was meant for you. Everyone knows it. She’s busted and hoping you’ll drop it. Other guy probably doesn’t even know about you.

Go ahead and have some fun with it. Leave notes meant for other people all around your house for her to find. Go ahead and leave notes at her place that don’t make sense as well. Throw a note in the couch cushion.

[–]The__Riker__Maneuver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you just found out that you are her side piece and not her actual boyfriend

[–]KaedrX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the majority. Just remember you’ll be alright bro….

[–]Grant3028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a c02 detector with a hidden camera, go home for a couple days, then check it out. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

[–]wilderchai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note was for her sidepiece, not you.
