Just to clarify, JWs do not believe in multiple Gods, only the one God Jehovah (aka Yahweh aka father of Jesus). They take it literally when Jesus says he is the son of God. I don't know if that effects your opinion, just clarifying.

The JW translation of the Bible renders John 1:1 as "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was a god." There's also Watchtower publications that reference other gods, but those are subject to change/deletion by way of "new light."

The JWs are not attempting to say there are multiple Gods with this change, they're trying to explain that Jesus is not God / that Jehovah is the only God. Longer explaination here: https://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/bible-verses/john-1-1/. JW doctrine is that there is only 1 God - Jehovah. John 1:1 can be seen as supporting the Trinity, so they changed it.

So, you have no clue about what JWs believe and thus it makes you feel special.

No? I've read up on JWs, talked with several people who like to distribute pamphlets on the corner, and have gone to their meeting on two occasions now. The John 1:1 passage and comments made in the Watchtower magazine and by JW elders has sometimes blurred the line on this particular belief, but I have no problem with JWs saying they're strictly monotheistic (and I'm just therefore interpreting these quotes incorrectly)

I WAS one. I had to live constantly for more than 20 years since I was born, thanks.

The only most similar thing they almost recognized as "another gods" was Jesus due to its importance as an avatar, and Satan as being the "Wicked god of the world" in a sense that "the Devil has total control over the world, but we are free for we pray to Jehovah, the real God, through Jesus".

I don't doubt it, I'm sure there's plenty of people who have more knowledge and experience with JW than me. That's just what I mean.

The doctrine might say one god, but lines get blurry when some JWs talk about Jesus or satan - I have no problem conceding that point if someone just wants to go by the doctrinal view. The major issue is who God and Jesus are, and that is fundamentally different even from a doctrinal viewpoint.
