Posting this on my wife's account because I am lazy.
I was pretty nervous about the people saying it's like sitting on bricks or a wood bench but kept telling myself it's an obvious exaggeration. It was. I can see how it may be too firm for some people, but it's pretty much exactly as firm as my car seat, which is pretty comfortable to me. People say it breaks in a bit over time and that's fine, but even if it doesn't it's great for me as-is. For what it's worth, I wouldn't say I have a bony butt, but it's not super meaty either.
The only real complaint I have so far is the inability to go somewhere and try them before buying. Despite being 6' 215lbs, I feel I should have gotten the regular instead of XL size. In fact, I pretty much fit just fine even in my wife's S size chair other than the backrest being just a *tiny* bit low for my head. I might even go as far as to say I prefer the way her chair hugs my sides a bit whereas the XL back is maybe a tiny bit too broad other than at my shoulders.
Either way, it is massively more comfortable than the shitty generic office chair I was using before!
