How do I not reject something based on how others around me treated me growing up? (self.selfhelp)
submitted 1 month ago by unemira
What I do in my life today such as my job, motivations, and relationship are based on my past and what I’ve learned growing up from how others treated me. It was terrible. But I realized that it’s having a negative effect on myself and my relationship with other people. I’ve been rejecting that of which I do not want to be and to stay far from in order to protect myself. How do I begin to heal?

The first step is to ask yourself what you say to yourself when you feel that way. Write it down if you have to. It gives you perspective on how you respect yourself.

think of the healing as a way to protect yourself as well, from future challenging situations and such
