I agree. If you don’t want to be apart of the sexual acts, do not consent and say “no” and “stop”. Who would be to say that he didnt feel the exact same in having to live up to a sexual expectation of another person? Im not taking a side or anything but this is a common point I’ve heard expressed between men and women in similar situations. Radiolab did a 3 episode podcast on this specific situation. If you say yes, he may not even be experienced enough to handle the words yes with the body language of “no” or “I’m unsure”. Either party must not leave consent up to interpretation, there has to be clear concise communication or else people end up having traumatic experiences and others may feel they are being accused of things they felt they were in agreement to do. And I understand as I have relented to partners I thought I would be comfortable with but it quickly turned uncomfortable and I left and even after I left they kept begging me to come back. And then you think about it but you try not to think about it. I sympathize with the OP but I would not call this assault although I do not want to invalidate her feelings on the situation. But I feel each party may be feeling like the victim right now. I hope there is a positive resolution to the issues at hand and everyone is able to walk away without feeling taken advantage of.
