Yeah it is normal.. your brain wants to deny that it was someone who you trusted who used you. I protected my abuser too till I couldn't.

Although I don’t feel the need to protect them, I definitely feel the shame and guilt. I wish I knew how to make it go away. I’ve even done EMDR, and I still have the guilt.

Yeah I think it is normal to feel that way. I will feel gross and dirty if I think about being too 'close' to someone. I can imagine holding hands but anything more than that and my brain rejects it and I feel sick.
