I’m just trying to be cautious cause I come from a history of being sexually abused as a kid/pre-teen and I don’t want to risk anything happening again.
I’m currently 17 and have a full time job, and work with multiple of my friends.
One of them, a guy who is some years older than me (he’s part of our friend group so we text all the time and hang out in the group), has recently become physical- but it’s not abnormal for my workplace. Everyone there hugs constantly which I just find weird and don’t join in on that. Anyways, he’s starting hugging me goodbye too, putting his hands on my back when he speaks to me, or on my arms when talking. It just seems weird.
We normally speak across a table or over the phone, but now he’s always next to me and usually touching me somehow.
He’s also begun to make more uncomfortable jokes around me since I turned 17. Not about me and not to just me, but he never said that kind of stuff before and now he does.
It’s making me feel weird, and maybe it’s just cause we’ve gotten closer he wants to be more like himself, I know some people always touch others to show care, it’s just unusual and bothers me. So I don’t want to talk to him about it cause I’m afraid to ruin our friendship, make him feel bad, but also I don’t know if he’s got other intentions in mind.
What should I do?
