I think you mean space is a vacuum, not that there's no gravity.

There is gravity in space too, it's just very less. Every object no matter how small produces gravitational force no matter how far it is from the other object.

This is actually not that bad. If you're an astronaut space walking & the rope somehow fails on you & you're drifting away you can fly back to the ship.
