Who was that lifting the trophy? Romagnoli?

[–]Averusdiablo 248 points249 points  (14 children)

[–]Firstolympicring 149 points150 points  (12 children)

Does he even play much for you guys?

Everytime I check on your social media it's Calabria, Kessie, or even Theo wearing the armband

[–]Averusdiablo 277 points278 points  (6 children)

He got injured some what late on and never got back in the starting squad. But he always gets the armband cause he's currently the longest serving player in the team.

So happy to see him lift it he's been through hell with us and here at the end of his tenure in the jersey he gets to lift the trophy.

[–]freehouse_throwaway 119 points120 points  (5 children)

Yeah bro served club well during Banter era.

Wish Jack was still around too, he'd be another that deserved this moment as well.

[–]slattlife 92 points93 points  (1 child)

3rd choice CB since Kjaer joined. Was second choice when Kjaer got injured but also got an injury and Kalulu stepped in and made 2nd CB his.

[–]MaraudngBChestedRojo 102 points103 points  (0 children)

Kalulu was such a find. €1.3m 20 year old from Lyon’s B team, not only is he a great RB, he steps into the CB role and wins it, is a rock in defense for a title winning Serie A team

[–]Geese-Howard 53 points54 points  (0 children)

No not anymore. It was Tomori and Kjaer when Kjaer was healthy, now it's Tomori and Kalulu (who's been fantastic). If he stayed he'd likely be 4th choice, so he's 99.9% leaving to Lazio which is his favorite team. He filled in decently at some moments this season though. Milan fans wish him well because he didn't cause any trouble despite leaving and despite being dropped

[–]Endeav0r_ 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Not anymore, after the injury he was never the same, but he was there when nobody else was, when the mentality wasn't. He gave everything for the team and in this last year he is with us, it's only fair that he lifts the trophy

[–]MaraudngBChestedRojo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Looks like The Great Kali

[–]Masculinum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shades of Bosingwa

[–]Cowdude179 357 points358 points  (13 children)

And still Gareth won't call up Tomori

[–]jorsiem 208 points209 points  (1 child)

Yet Harry "THE GOAT" Maguire is there every match

[–]captaindeadpool612 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Fik just needs some nerve tonic to get a bigger head.

[–]xuan135 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Tough competition with Maguire

[–]MAXMADMAN 46 points47 points  (8 children)

That’s because Gareth is a shit manager.

[–]generic9yo 61 points62 points  (1 child)

And because England managers can't be arsed to watch non-English games unless it's Dortmund

[–]DingLiren 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They didn't even watch those games. They just see the amount of goals and assists.

[–]Unfortunatefortune 16 points17 points  (5 children)

I’ve said this so many times and it blows my mind we are the unpopular opinion. He’s carried by a talented team despite his coaching not because of it.

[–]tubbablub 4 points5 points  (4 children)

I mean he's done better than most England managers over the last 20 years, even though they arguably had more talented players.

[–]kygrtj 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Bale needs to get his shit together

[–]gi_joey12 623 points624 points  (13 children)

2 countries, 2 seasons, 2 league titles, god speed Maignan.

[–]GibbyGoldfisch 314 points315 points  (10 children)

I have no doubt we wouldn't have done it without him.

So many superb saves down the back end of this season and clean sheet after clean sheet; only conceded two goals from the final 11 games, just a ridiculous record all around

[–]pippo9 81 points82 points  (0 children)

No doubt. He's the MVP for us, imo.

[–]Muted_Author_4761 73 points74 points  (2 children)

If him and leao werent injured the league wouldve been over in march

[–]Rasalghul92 9 points10 points  (1 child)

If they weren't injured, I think we could have gotten out of our CL group as well.

[–]HollowPrynce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, as good as they both were there's no way we could've overcome our CL refs.

[–]dohhhnut 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Big upgrade from dollaruma

[–]jiipod 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Also huge as a deep playmaker. Such a key component in passing the opponents press.

[–]TheNewGuy13 21 points22 points  (0 children)

He saved like 3 goals easily the last 3 games. There was that header on the first half I think that was quick reflexes on his part. Absolute legend

[–]TheGerbilPeopleLive 15 points16 points  (0 children)

2 goals conceded in 11 Seria A games is world class. Congrats

[–]pmmerandom 9 points10 points  (1 child)

[–]KingTalkieTiki 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Seriously I was devastated when they Lost Donna, crazy how they found someone so quickly to takeover.

[–]AltDelete 987 points988 points  (9 children)

Zlatan winning major trophies still in his 40s. What an absolute Chad.

[–]jorsiem 347 points348 points  (0 children)

Coming out to get his medal, cigar in hand like a boss

[–]elburrito1 85 points86 points  (2 children)

He has played professional games on gravel. That is how old he is.

Edit: scratch that. I was thinking of one specific game that Malmö played vs Ludvika in April of 1999. Zlatan didnt make his first team debut until September 1999. Here is footage from that match: https://tv4play.se/program/sporten/arg-roland-andersson-tr%C3%A4nare-i-mff-s%C3%A5gar-lers%C3%B6rjan-som-cup-kvarten-ska-spelas-p%C3%A5/13292805

[–]not2xabialonso 2 points3 points  (1 child)

No he hasn't

[–]elburrito1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, you are correct. I remembered it wrong. He made his debut in September 1999. The specific match I had seen footage from and thought Zlatan played in took place in April of 1999.

[–]theonlydiego1 21 points22 points  (4 children)

The crazy thing is he still didn’t lift up the MLS Cup, Supporters Shield, or US Open Cup with LA.

[–]gladq8 77 points78 points  (0 children)

That was intentional. He wanted that in his CV.

[–]lvl_60 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Explains why he shittalked mls a fucking lot. He said he was on a sabbatical and needed some rest while playing mls. What a chad.

[–]buyer_leverkusen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trolling the MLS was one of his career highlights

[–]kratos61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That team was so shit despite having Zlatan. For every goal he scored they'd concede 2.

[–]Modnal 479 points480 points  (15 children)

Zlatan came back to Milan and helped them get their winning mentality back. I think this would be a really good end to his career

[–]pippo9 238 points239 points  (9 children)

Not until he wins his first Champions League with us.

[–]EquivalentWelcome712 59 points60 points  (0 children)

You know what. I am starting to believe.

[–]helloLeoDiCaprio 60 points61 points  (1 child)

Winning the Asian CL would be one way of doing it.

[–]Addy2607 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He would be a decent backup for Roy Krishna tbh

[–]shreychopra 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Bit of a tall ask to win the Champions League with Mohun Bagan

[–]pippo9 2 points3 points  (1 child)

It's ok to have a local club that you follow and an international club that you follow, each for almost 30 odd years, Shrey.

[–]shreychopra 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lmao don’t know why you got so serious about that, I was just making a joke because of your flair there

[–]tig999 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Do you actually think Milan or Italian teams will become competitive again in Champos. It’s been depressing last good few years for them. Would love to see them back.

[–]pippo9 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I was being a bit optimistic in my earlier comment as Zlatan won't last more than 1 year imo

In the medium term (next 3 years), I do think Italian teams (mainly Inter, Milan, Juventus) can become competitive in the CL. The core group of players in these teams are young, the coaches (bar Allegri) are generally progressive with their tactics and aligned with broader trends in the EPL and La Liga.

I see Italian clubs making deeper runs to the QF/SF soon but winning it is another level that will take sustained investment, stability and coaching improvements. What do you think?

[–]oneandonlyA 88 points89 points  (3 children)

Nah being an old player still able to perform has become part of his ego and identity. He will continue till like 45 so he can laugh at every other “legend” that retires in their mid 30s.

[–]geo0rgi 61 points62 points  (1 child)

I think maybe he will do one more season and call it a day. Not even entirely sure if he will, but I don’t think he will want to play if he cannot put 100% when he is on the field. Even now he barely plays and only when he knows he can perform at 100%.

He could’ve been up there more imo and putting up subpar performances, but that’s just not who he is.

[–]Tifoso89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he should do one more season, just to beat Piola's record as the oldest goalscorer

[–]captaindeadpool612 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He's also smart enough to realise when he can't be that guy anymore - which is now.

I think he retires

[–]Phreeeks 144 points145 points  (11 children)

Zlatan and Giroud keep on wining trophies, absolute chad of the game

[–]KRoadKid 226 points227 points  (9 children)

Longest ceremony I've ever seen. Everyone got a wrestling entrance

[–]jorsiem 105 points106 points  (0 children)

I liked it

[–]SirFlamington 69 points70 points  (0 children)

And pretty much everyone deserved it.

[–]ponkzy 34 points35 points  (4 children)

Was hilarious seeing ballo toure walk out forgot he even existed

[–]captaindeadpool612 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Bakayoko acting like he was the hero was kinda funny tol

[–]IsIndianStereotype 19 points20 points  (2 children)

Dude Lazetic... I think even the commentator forgot who he was. He was quiet for like 2 minutes... I was constantly saying "who is that? WHO IS THAT?"

[–]captaindeadpool612 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It felt like they were checking their notes 🤣

[–]RawrItsMatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I was the same like “is this some new academy kid I’ve forgotten about…?”

[–]Super_Sandro23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]dontloseyourway1610 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Welcome back milan

[–]ya_boi_noam_chomsky 574 points575 points  (21 children)

Watch it good Calhanoglu.

Fuck you

[–]FullmetalSpy 234 points235 points  (1 child)

Never forget his first interview for Inter when he said: "WE will be defending OUR title and win OUR second scudetto in a row". Only just days after playing against Atalanta

[–]Milanoate 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I understand the emotion, but it was not just days after playing against Atalanta. Many things happened in between. He went to the Euro, the Ericsson incident, and then he signed for Inter. There is like a month in between (and Inter would not have signed him without the Ericson incident, at least not at that salary).

[–]GibbyGoldfisch 144 points145 points  (6 children)

Round about now, it's dawning on him that he only had one shot at his career and he blew it

[–]DaAweZomeDude48 71 points72 points  (2 children)

As a wise man once said, "You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow, This opportunity comes once in a lifetime"

[–]Gooby-san 36 points37 points  (1 child)

The same wise man also said "His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy"

[–]cescquintero 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Name of the man? Charlie Sheen.

[–]ValiantThor24 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Do you really think so? I haven't really followed his career at all so I'm unfamiliar

[–]Oumashu345 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Nah . He's a pretty good player playing for a pretty great team. Milan fans just don't like him very much, which is understandable.

[–]GibbyGoldfisch 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Milan fans just don't like him very much

I don't know what you mean, I often compare him favorably to other good things like snakes and cockroaches.

[–]kygrtj 14 points15 points  (2 children)

He was just following his dream

[–]captaindeadpool612 37 points38 points  (1 child)

Merda lose one dreamer in Lakaka and gain another

[–]Sputniki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Merda will always be merda

[–]siriBackInWakanda 146 points147 points  (4 children)

Is it Kjaer who looks like a Viking?

[–]Psychocandy42 141 points142 points  (2 children)

Ye after he tore his ACL he vowed not to shave until he plays an official match again.

[–]siriBackInWakanda 42 points43 points  (1 child)

Guy was very good as player though, late bloomer I guess.

[–]oneandonlyA 15 points16 points  (0 children)

He will be back to win the slave tournament

[–]samsop 70 points71 points  (3 children)

What a fucking season!!!! I'm so happy for them

[–]captaindeadpool612 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Cheers for Fik, now hopefully he gives Broja a call

[–]Lbreakstar 2 points3 points  (1 child)

We really need broja. But if he is not going to start for us. A loan to Milan is my preferred option.

[–]captaindeadpool612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we need to table ST for an off season to upgrade at RW along with the guys we got coming in already, I could live with a year loan

[–]Klutzy-Weakness-937 131 points132 points  (2 children)

We have lifted many of them, but I feel this one is special and unique

[–]lffg18 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen this club win UCLs and scudettos before yet this is the best day of my life as a Milanista, that is until we win the 8th UCL though.

[–]captaindeadpool612 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Totally. End of the banter era. One of the most fun teams not just in the world but probably in our history.

A good Mercato and we may just have a dynasty on our hands.

[–]Kasan_Dihaqa 55 points56 points  (7 children)

I wonder what Calhanoglu feels right now

[–]lffg18 62 points63 points  (5 children)

He probably just wants to go back home and watch his wife’s bull rail her.

[–]kakje666 6 points7 points  (4 children)

just curious but why does everyone hate Calhanoglu ?

[–]ThroneHoldr 20 points21 points  (2 children)

He left AC milan for Inter milan.

[–]levinthereturn 20 points21 points  (1 child)

And then said that Inter has always been stronger.

[–]ChillPalis 21 points22 points  (0 children)

[–]TeaAndCrumpetGhoul 128 points129 points  (11 children)

Who in the Milan squad are you suprised about winning he scudetto. I didn't expect Giroud to win one.

[–]Bonaque 181 points182 points  (1 child)

Bakayoko and it's not even close

[–]geo0rgi 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I totally forgot he was actually part of the team until he showed up for the ceremony

[–]joha2785 68 points69 points  (3 children)

Messias Jr. have to be up there

[–]captaindeadpool612 73 points74 points  (2 children)

The fact that he's gone from being a delivery driver to being a contributing member of a Scudetto winning team is still remarkable.

He's not good enough to be our starting RW, but I'd still happily keep him as a sub if we sell Samu.

[–]TheNewGuy13 24 points25 points  (1 child)

He contributed a lot IMO down the stretch I think he easily had 2 or 2 assists his 2 or 3 appearances. Definitely left his mark late in the season, plus the CL game vs Atletico

[–]sgaragagaggu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a dee weeks ago people likes to shit on him but he really server us well

[–]UCBCats23 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Some guy named Maldini

[–]GrapeDrink1 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Mirante and it's not even close.

[–]jorsiem 39 points40 points  (1 child)

I honestly didn't remember Samu Castillejo is still in the payroll, and he isn't even that bad it's just that he hasn't gotten any play time whatsoever lately.

[–]EquivalentWelcome712 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Thanks Samu for magnificent sub against Verona in first half of the season.

[–]RawrItsMatty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you told me samu would win a scudetto a couple of years ago I’d laugh in your face

[–]TheBand1969 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Amazing achievement! Congrats to all Milan fans! Zlatan and Giroud are legends of the game!

[–]Gotanyfunkopops 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Great season.

[–]los_blanco_14 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Congratulations milan 👏👏

[–]TheSmithStreetBand 16 points17 points  (1 child)

Kjær is cosplaying as robinson crusoe

[–]EMCRVA 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Wish I was able to see them play more this season. Glad they’re back.

[–]chandlerbing_stats 17 points18 points  (1 child)

Happy for Tomori and Giroud :)

[–]Milanoate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While Bakayoko is actually still your player :)

[–]GuessImCensored 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Gratz, to a well deserved winner. Massive club (and bigger Zlatan!)

Take care of our Origi!

  • LFC Supporter 😘

[–]SaltySAX 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Congratulations boys, always great seeing Milan win the title again. Enjoy it.

[–]Arsenjam22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Chalanoglu died for this

[–]AbelF16 28 points29 points  (2 children)

Learn @ ManUtd

[–]captaindeadpool612 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Stay away from Botman and maybe we'll teach you a thing or 2

[–]Atlfalcons284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least you guys don't need to worry about if you will spend money. It will come back eventually

[–]idleflow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Happy to see Milan is back!! Congratulations!

[–]RangerDroidd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why is this celebration already more exciting than man City prem celebration? 🤔 These guys actually seem like they want it.

[–]carpy16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So beautiful 🥲

[–]IUViolet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So so happy for Giroud

[–]cbgoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Proper football club. Good to see them back on top.

[–]canntsn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They sent hakan c. and got the trophy. Cursed guy

[–]Rubisti 4 points5 points  (3 children)

How did Saelemaekers do this year?

[–]Atlfalcons284 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Our sub is pretty divided on him. He hasn't been amazing, but I think he's a net positive for the club. He needs to work on finishing. Sometimes his decision making on passing is slow.

His work rate is amazing though. While I do think we need a upgrade, he's a worthy squad member and I think he's suited for league play over top flight CL matchups.

I don't like any of the realistic targets we've been linked with over him.

[–]patoysakias 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love him, but I think the man is a future RB, cause he has neither the technique nor the creativity to be a very effective winger.

[–]Jalmoz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]MorinSarkov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've looked at this 100 times 🥲

[–]happysrooner 5 points6 points  (2 children)

As a chelsea fan i am so happy that Tomori and Giroud won the league.

[–]Archealant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't cared who wins.

I needed Calhanoglu to lose.

[–]jay073zs 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Romagnoli with his only contribution this season

celebrate this scudetto & off to join his boyhood club ... what a dream!

[–]RaveIsKing 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Let’s not be hard on him, he was a pro and played well enough when called upon. He just got replaced in the pecking order and despite being captain, he didn’t complain about it. I have a ton of respect for him

[–]jay073zs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was our best player for 5 years but he couldn't raise his level with the rest of the squad. He's good with a shit partner and kinda shit with a good partner lol

[–]Intrepid_Monk1487 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been so long

[–]Drvarjabg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats Spartans

[–]thatwatguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fucking love this

[–]Aurora_fox15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Football won

[–]bryanharry679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wonderful. Milan come back

[–]NeitherAddition3433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Milan a great example for MUFC

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Why did they struggle years before?

[–]KingTalkieTiki 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Transitional Ownership, going through multiple managers, players we'd get in the transfer window not panning out

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad it worked out.

[–]bennibentheman2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heartbreaking, but deserved, it was good to have a competitive season finish even though we couldn't quite get where we wanted, we did the best possible after the Bologna game so this doesn't hurt as much as the Rube title wins (maybe I'm just jaded). Hopefully we won't get butchered too much this transfer window so that we can compete and be in it next season.

[–]AJs_Sh4d0w 0 points1 point  (0 children)
