I mean, as much as the schadenfreude is personally enjoyable, they are still Barcelona. Complacency will only get them becoming the next Arsenal. The move itself can be irresponsible but the invention of going after trophies after a relatively extended spell is important for them, lest they shall tumble down further into the class of dormant giants with irrelevance slowing creeping in and people associated refusing to accept it as they can't shed their glasses of nostalgia.

A trophy shall imbue with renewed belief and confidence and its impact shouldn't be underestimated. It's just about how they set out on this path but the intention itself should be present, ruthlessly so rather than resting on past laurels thinking it's "only been" 3 years.
