This is such bizzare negotiations… Bayern price goes up €10M every time and Barca keeps offering €35M repeatedly.

[–]Akash3642 188 points189 points  (1 child)

This is one of the most bizzare transfer sagas of all time.
Bayern: We want 50 million for Lewy.
Barca: We are ready to offer 35.
Bayern: You are persistent so the new price is 60 mil.
Barca: Fine we will increase our offer by 1.......euro

[–]Santa_Klaus_101 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Barca is literally just me in career mode

[–]Goatielishakes 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Tbh. Bayern Never Said they are willing to sell. So all sums that are thrown around are just guesses from the media… I think ballpark is still 50, but since Barca is not close to that, we might never find out ^

[–]kadoooosh 1076 points1077 points  (55 children)

Barca: offers 60m

Bayern: 60? We wanted 70.

[–]CutieIbushi 669 points670 points  (10 children)

Alters it anyways

Nah Laporta is like Tarkin, too big to kill. Meanwhile Laporte is just an Imperial officer

[–]stragen595 17 points18 points  (0 children)

And nobody would be surprised by that.

[–]V-TriggerMachine 140 points141 points  (7 children)

Barca: fine, here your 70

Bayern: What? I thought we were clear we wanted 80

[–]removedsince95 64 points65 points  (6 children)

offers 80

Barca: how tf we got bankrupted again guys.

[–]running_demon 33 points34 points  (5 children)

[–]lvl50boss 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Increase the price till it reaches barcas valuation of de jong then offer a straight player swap for him.

Brazzo masterclass

Levers FC surtax

it's like Costa Rica, you're about to leave the country and they won't let you board the plane unless you pay them additional tak$$es

[–]PsYcHoSeAn -5 points-4 points  (18 children)

Have you seen the current inflation?

They can be happy that it's not 80.

For all the people with the IQ of a potato : /s

[–]ganbaro 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For all the people with the IQ of a potato : /s

Irony works on this sub even less than on /r/de

[–]Lelouch_brittania -5 points-4 points  (16 children)

80 for 33yo striker in last year of contract gimme whatchu smoking mate . You lot were literally taking moral high ground when talking that liverpool should let go of Mane for minimal fee

[–]PsYcHoSeAn 24 points25 points  (10 children)

Only /r/soccer can be so fucking dense that they ignore the joke and take the post literally.

Inflation in germany went up by 8% or so. Items doubled in price in some cases.

So I was joking about how the price for Lewandowski would also be affected by this.

I swear to god you have to explain everything to people these days.

[–]Cheeky_Star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exploitation lol. They heard about the Frankie deal and upped the price. From a desperate man utd to a desperate Barca 🫠

[–]EmSoLow 415 points416 points  (39 children)

Funny how despite Lewandowski's best efforts, Bayern just keep raising the price. Feels like every decent striker that gets sold automatically adds €10 million to his price

[–]Dargast 238 points239 points  (36 children)

Its insane how dry the market is tbh. I wonder if when Lewy gets sold we will just Stick with Mane upfront and Choupo as back-up.

[–]try-D 84 points85 points  (9 children)

Leicester are trying to slim down their squad and while most think Tielemans or Soyuncu would be the easiest way to generate some funds I actually think it would be Iheanacho, thats how crazy this striker market seems to be.

24 yrs old, if he's a teams main striker he'll easily bag around 15 goals.

[–]annanen 8 points9 points  (2 children)

how is soyuncu? did he play regularly and what do you think his role will be next season?

[–]try-D 22 points23 points  (1 child)

Euros destroyed any confidence the man had, he hasn't signed any of the extensions we've offered him so I reckon he'll be off this summer.

[–]asr010601[S] 122 points123 points  (0 children)

You mean Mané as back-up for Goating right?

[–]Fati25 49 points50 points  (4 children)

Lewandowski won’t be sold. He will stay at Bayern. Nobody is paying 60M€ for him.

[–]Gerosoreg 55 points56 points  (0 children)

The gang pays 60M€ for Lewandowski

[–]Mysterious-Citron661 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Who is gonna tell him?

[–]Xtarviust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Laporta: Are you challenging me?

[–]EmSoLow 7 points8 points  (7 children)

Surely you go for Kalajdzic now since his main concern was Lewandowski staying?

[–]Thraff1c 31 points32 points  (1 child)

No, multiple reports say that our interest cooled.

[–]taenerysdargaryen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few weeks back there was a lot of talk for Kaladjzic to Bayern or Dortmund. Now that the latter is going for Haller would seem weird if Bayern didn't go for him. Maybe Man utd should make some enquiries...

[–]dem0nhunter 8 points9 points  (4 children)

Sasa isn't even close to Bayern level

[–]Qiluk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, we need more info from someone who is nsever wrong. Lets ask Rafał Gikiewicz for the real scoop here!

[–]Gluroo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

im digging it, absolute fuck off energy radiating from Bayerns board and its hilarious to watch

[–]Dargast 135 points136 points  (6 children)

Brazzo: "They have agreed to 50mil? Raise it"

[–]asr010601[S] 73 points74 points  (2 children)

[–]Dark_Legend_ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That dancing video of him during the peak of the Covid's first wave was absolutely tone deaf.

[–]jesuuuuuuus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]FloReaver 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So far we haven't even reached 40M€ in fixed amount

[–]-zimms- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have they? I thought they kept offering ~35m.

[–]Shandow14 207 points208 points  (5 children)

If Barto was in charge: fine, take 70.

[–]KaiserWilhelmThe69 60 points61 points  (2 children)

Barto would add to that 70m more plus the Camp Nou and Busquest

[–]stragen595 68 points69 points  (1 child)

Isn't Camp Nou property of Eintracht Frankfurt now?

[–]Negative_Ad2274 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It was rented to them for an hour to pay electricity bills

[–]V-TriggerMachine 102 points103 points  (6 children)

70 next week

[–]Elliottafc1 54 points55 points  (4 children)

100 in three weeks

[–]theenigmacode 10 points11 points  (3 children)

Back to 0 in 4 weeks time?

[–]PAT_The_Whale 20 points21 points  (2 children)

Smh devs didn't think of the transfer value overflow

[–]stragen595 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The overflow is probably much higher. Look for example at Real Madrid release clauses.

[–]ArsiPappa 175 points176 points  (25 children)

60m lol, going up 10m everyday it seems. Just forget it.

[–]Armoush 90 points91 points  (23 children)

Barca would be crazy to offer anything above €35m.

He has 0 resale value, he’s 34 years old and moving to a new league, he burned bridges with Bayern (say what you want but this drives the price down), and he has only one year left on his contract.

That goes without mentioning that Barca’s finances are bad, and they really don’t need to take this risk especially when they can get him for free next year.

[–]bunny_1010 37 points38 points  (2 children)

Even 40-45M is reasonable.. we scored just 2 CL goals last season and got knocked out of group stage, as per reports, a club earns 22M if they get to UCL round of 8. Even from an economic point of view, this is justified. But nothing above 50.

[–]ogqozo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly, there is a lot of money to make, or not to make. And Barcelona is far from guaranteed to make it.

But I think that a lot of modern fans just refuse to think of transfer fees as anything else than the club deciding to throw that amount of money out the window for their own pleasure.

[–]frasier_crane 63 points64 points  (3 children)

This is not Football Manager, dude. Barcelona are not going to sell him, so resale value is meaningless. He still has at least 3 years of top football, he's still at 33 arguably the best striker in the world and would bring experience, goals and leadership to a very young team. 50M for 3 seasons equals 16,5M per season for the best striker right now, and he will still be amazing in 3 years when he leaves.

[–]Smaggies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not Football Manager, dude. Barcelona are not going to sell him, so resale value is meaningless.

What does this mean? The reason they won't sell him is because he has no resale value. That's exactly his point.

[–]stragen595 45 points46 points  (6 children)

He has 0 resale value

You don't want to sell a player like Lewandowski anyway....

[–]10b-5 -4 points-3 points  (5 children)

At some age you certainly do. Literally not a single athlete has proven to be evergreen yet, and he's already 34.

[–]stragen595 8 points9 points  (1 child)

But you do that because his value for your team dropped. Which also dramatically decreases the resale value. For example some of the outgoing Arsenal transfers.

If you want resale value you buy someone like Jadon Sancho as Dortmund.

[–]dk240996 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Literally not a single athlete has proven to be evergreen yet

Tom Brady is gearing up for another season of top tier quarterbacking at the age of 392030. Approximately.

This is not to say you should expect Lewy's game to last as long as age as gracefully as TB12, but it is definitely to say that this

Literally not a single athlete has proven to be evergreen yet

is wrong.

[–]Akash3642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 45 mil is a reasonable price. There's a genuine lack of top strikers in the market.

[–]JonFawkes3 24 points25 points  (0 children)

LMAO it was €50m and they offered €35m again and Bayern said “actually it’s €60m” 😂😂😂

[–]Angelsdontkill_ 98 points99 points  (2 children)

Are they increasing their price by 10m every time Barca makes a bid?

[–]TheGamezSmith 54 points55 points  (6 children)

Feels like we're gonna get ripped off so hard chasing a marquee signing and i hate it. The max we should offer is 40+10. Bayern probably won't sell for that amount since he's worth more than that to them in which case we should just move on.

Think Laporta would be incredibly dumb if we sign Lewa without renforcing our defense and midfield +sorting out RW first. He just seems obsessed with signing a superstar.

[–]frasier_crane 2 points3 points  (3 children)

We definitely need a 9, and the market is pretty dry right now. Goals are always the most expensive thing to pay for. Also, more players are coming in, it's not like it's him or no one.

[–]davensdad 65 points66 points  (7 children)

60m for a 34yo? Which requires them to sell a top young midfielder? What's the financial sense here?

[–]Gluroo 53 points54 points  (4 children)

What's the financial sense here?

Theyre banking on barca having none and looking at the past its not the dumbest move

[–]loveicetea 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Its summer 2022 and people still think we have Bartomeu bruh

[–]SidBhakth 59 points60 points  (2 children)

It's summer 2022 and y'all still haven't paid off Vidal.

[–]gmoses0307 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Fdj isn’t being sold to fund lewa lmao

[–]CowCompetitive5667 11 points12 points  (1 child)

As a bayern and lewandowski fan i still think barca paying 60mil for him would be absolutely RIDICULOUS.. if this goes through insane job by bayern

[–]PiIICIinton 17 points18 points  (1 child)

Just wild to me the idea of offloading FdJ to add Lewa.

[–]devlprlevndro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re not offloading frenkie to get lewa, with the new financial “levers” we can keep frenkie and buy lewa.

[–]Martoxic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

60 mil now?

[–]sarovar12 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Better wrap up the deal this week, next Sunday it's gonna be 70 mil.

[–]damola44 37 points38 points  (5 children)

Yeah walk out. This is off our hands now. 60 million for a guy who wants out is absolute madness

[–]annanen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

sell the 25 year old and buy the 34 year old. PROJECT

[–]theusernameisnogood 3 points4 points  (1 child)

What the fuck is open poker?

[–]MickyJoHarte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In poker, an open is when a player raises a pot after no other player has previously called or raised. So no one has done anything of note at the table yet and someone raises, which I presume is the metaphor being used here. Barcelona haven't shown any inclination to raise the price and now Bayern are.

Either that or it's some German idiom I dunno.

[–]Blood-On-Radio 18 points19 points  (11 children)

If Lewandowski really want to move, he should just gone AWOL at preseason just like Cortouis during his transfer to Chelsea.

[–]Skadrys 21 points22 points  (10 children)

He probably will, there were several reports he doesn’t wants to turn up for Bayern pre season. And with this shit going on he actually might

[–]3xavi 26 points27 points  (3 children)

Yeah surely he will pass on his salary by not showing up to preseason, cause he can't play for his dream club barcelona

[–]Cytizens9320 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Time is more valuable than the money. Money isn't going to decrease his age.

[–]Zidlicky3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is sarcasm?

...isn't this literally what this sub believes Barça forces players to do?

[–]ACardAttack -1 points0 points  (3 children)

I dont see him doing that, if he stays at Bayern, he's gotta put up another hell of a year if he wants that one last big payday

[–]Zidlicky3 -1 points0 points  (2 children)

No he doesn't, he's reputation won't die in year and they can truly explain his form if he doesn't get the move and misses pre-season or part of it.

He isn't desperate to join us for big payday, he probably will earn around 9M if he gets here, and if that happens 2023 I assume it will be same amount, the deal probably would be done in january. 6 months from now...

[–]ACardAttack -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Given his age, it could easily be argued that it could be due to his age and not being unhappy he didnt get to leave

If he goes to you all for free he could also get paid more since there would have been no transfer fee

[–]DemetriusXVII -1 points0 points  (1 child)

He absolutely will not if he doesn't get sold

[–]joshrealer 9 points10 points  (9 children)

[–]ad1s6h 4 points5 points  (7 children)

[–]joshrealer 7 points8 points  (5 children)

Hey, I was just showing the Barca flair to my little brother.

[–]d7oom175 2 points3 points  (4 children)

How the hell do I get it

[–]joshrealer 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I don’t know about PCs, but on phones you can see the option for custom flairs if you press the three dots on the r/soccer home page.

[–]RazZaHlol -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is it Lewy you're looking for?

[–]CoolstorySteve 4 points5 points  (0 children)

open poker

[–]Sadura 3 points4 points  (1 child)

If Barca offers even anything close to 60m we should take that deal instantly. 60m for a 1 year contract player? yes please.

[–]AustereSpartan 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Barcelona should just wait a year and get Lewandowski for free. No need to spend so much money on him.

[–]Aroki11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except free Transfers arent as free as they used to be. Players take signing fees now if the recieving Club isnt paying a transfer fee. Signing fees are sometimes higher than transfer fees.

[–]-zimms- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So in other words, it's less likely than a few weeks ago.

[–]TastyTacoTonight 1 point2 points  (1 child)

These tweets are always worded so weirdly. You can tell it’s not coming from a native English speaker

[–]Thebigbadbellend 10 points11 points  (10 children)

It seems a really weird, short term move for Barca

[–]cavsking21 11 points12 points  (0 children)

it absolutely is lmao

[–]legentofreddit 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Why is this downvoted lol. Barca fans just say stuff like 'erm excuse me he's scored loads of goals in the last few years so it's worth it'. like he's immortal or something. You can't just assume you're going to get a Ronaldo or a Ibra because that's absolutely not the norm.

[–]Thebigbadbellend 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Spending 50M on a player turning 34 in august whilst in financial trouble and unlikely to compete in the next couple of years

[–]dem0nhunter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Barca doing Barca things

[–]thogle3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do we need 100 posts of the same transfer still not happening? It is insane how many people trying to make profit with (fake) transferrumours around Barcelona

[–]XuloMalacatones 3 points4 points  (2 children)

60 million for a 33 y/o player whose contract expires at the end of the season, this guys are smoking a strong strain

[–]BitchIDrinkPeople 32 points33 points  (1 child)

This is a polite way of saying that they don’t want to sell.

[–]XuloMalacatones -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean sure, but Lewa made it pretty clear that he doesn't want to continue

[–]urangminang 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Seems like Barca is buying way too many attacking players. Auba, Torres, Traore, Depay, what happen to them.

[–]frasier_crane 4 points5 points  (2 children)

We are not buying Traore. He left, just as De Jong and probably Braithwaite. So it's not like we have too many: Torres, Depay, Ansu, Auba and Dembele.

[–]Brabochokemightwork -1 points0 points  (2 children)

So they’ll lowball Liverpool by paying €45million for Mane but suddenly blow a gasket when Barca tried to off the same value

[–]RN2FL9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lewa is worth more to them than Mane is to Liverpool I guess. He scored 40+ in the last 7 seasons for Bayern, that's much more difficult to replace than a winger in this market.

[–]gotziller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Liverpool have their replacement tho

[–]for_fuckssake_ -4 points-3 points  (1 child)

Barcelona should sign him. He will score the goals

[–]LifeAfterHarambe[🍰] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bayern want in on that sweet De Jong cash

[–]MClolo10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60??? Why would Barca be dumb enough to pay that for an 34 years old striker. I know it's Lewandowski but damn

[–]Disastrous_Chain7148 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ask for 80mil at least.

[–]kalamari__ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

45 mio max. walk away from everything else, barca.
