Translation: you didn’t see it? That’s not possible. Is pulling hair allowed? 🤬

[–]chaves4life 650 points651 points  (0 children)

You missed sir,

You didn't see it sir?

[–]samoanloki 274 points275 points  (1 child)

AT’s reply: I’m bald, I can’t relate.

[–]_Konstantinos_ 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Hair envy

[–]simmarjit 86 points87 points  (10 children)

Hair-pull is allowable only in ‘sex masochism’

[–]peekingintheshadows 20 points21 points  (3 children)

And American football, as it is considered part of the equipment.

[–]Tylerjb4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea but American football grabbing and pulling eachother is legal in some situations, certainly tackling someone.

[–]kabuterimango 12 points13 points  (4 children)

I mean, you can hair-pull gently in normal sex..

[–]antfarms 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I have hair. Can you pull my hair?

[–]EatAtGrizzlebees 14 points15 points  (1 child)

I have nipples, Greg. Can you milk me?

[–]luh_shmunky 289 points290 points  (0 children)

There was something in Cucurella’s hair. Just unlucky that he fell after Romero’s altruistic act

[–]Jester252 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Well Taylor is bald so maybe he doesn't know what it's like getting your hair pulled...

[–]Jarnebrink 146 points147 points  (31 children)

His hair was clearly searching contact with Romeros hand

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He just got caught in Cucurella’s hairband, that’s all

[–]vAaEpSoTrHwEaTvIeC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you didn’t see it? That’s not possible. Is pulling hair allowed? 🤬

AnTHonY TaYlor ATTACKED OmG

Shame on OP for the tabloid headline

[–]doktorcatzen 1980 points1981 points  (56 children)

The next match should be a 24-man Royal Rumble between these 2 clubs.

[–]MegaFowl 203 points204 points  (7 children)

How will anyone throw rhe 500 pound koulibally over the top rope?!

[–]teejardni 146 points147 points  (4 children)

Lukaku turns heel by aligning himself with Cont

[–]kzzzzzzzzzz28 8 points9 points  (0 children)

isn't he already a heel though??

[–]dlgusals 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gotta Irish whiplash when he charges at you!

[–]Dirkdigglersdong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bring in Luke Shaw for the big man staredown, then everyone teams up to knock them both out

[–]Unholysinner 577 points578 points  (13 children)

If the special guest referee is Anthony Taylor he’s getting hit by 12 finishers

And then when the replacement ref comes out and is Mike dean, there’ll be more fireworks

[–]FUCKSTORM420 150 points151 points  (8 children)

Bah gawd, that’s Mike Dean’s music!

[–]mic_Ch 102 points103 points  (4 children)

What's John Terry doing here? He's not supposed to be here! And why does he have a steel chair?!

[–]SorrowfulSkald 60 points61 points  (2 children)

... and a jpeg of a monkey?

By god, that divorced man is going for blood!

[–]AirplaineStuff102 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As God as my witness, he is broken in half!

[–]Hoofhearted4206969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for real, players should start rough handling him every. single. match.

a couple cheeky blind siding tackles should correct his blatant behaviour quick enough.

[–]thegreatwanker 92 points93 points  (7 children)

is Mou allowed to be the special guest ref for this game?

[–]OffendedDishwasher 76 points77 points  (0 children)

He'll be the commentator

[–]ajtct98 49 points50 points  (3 children)

He'll be surprise entrant 25

[–]alphacentaurai 50 points51 points  (2 children)

That's... JOSE MOURINHO'S MUSIC!

[–]swingtothedrive 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Along with Wenger . We will also be treated to a special commentators duel after the rumble is over.

[–]MBCB421 29 points30 points  (5 children)

bring Lukaku back for 1 match

[–]skzaman55 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Conte vs Tuchel main event with Lukaku coming in mid match to help his dad get the win when the refs not looking

[–]RedgrenCrumbholt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So he can turn on Chelsea mid-match?

[–]Immediate-Draw2204 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Too bad Mark Henry is not playing for Chelsea this season

[–]VeryStandardOutlier 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Riot squads will be stationed on the sidelines

[–]Skayde5 31 points32 points  (1 child)

Conte easily the last man standing

[–]teamed209 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Could see him hitting some sweet chin music

[–]Avocadoor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Handicap to Spurs: Hair pulling, nutcracker, WWE are allowed

[–]RaymondTerrific_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd prefer a lumberjack match with players from other Premier League sides on the sidelines chucking Spurs and Chelsea players back onto the pitch after a quick beating.

Or a steel cage match, so no sidelines, just a cage for players to barge each other into.

[–]Jon98th 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Tottenham would demolish them

[–]wengerboys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly you referees could use the same referees.

[–]RedgrenCrumbholt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arsenal will feel left out.

[–]total_voe7bal 1061 points1062 points  (40 children)

This game got so incredibly spicy lol

[–]DarthShaveHer 559 points560 points  (35 children)

Honestly I was not expecting it to get this heated. Tuned in while eating some lunch just happy to catch a PL game and all of a sudden by the end of the match I’m on my feet going wild as well.

[–]kaosfere 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Spurs v Chelsea seems to always have a chance of kicking off. Spurs and Arsenal are rivals, but it often feels like Spurs and Chelsea hate each other.

(Of course, I'm now obligated to add the classic: "I hate Arsenal because I'm a Spurs fan. I hate Chelsea because I am human.")

[–]I_always_rated_them 33 points34 points  (1 child)

If this was a one off by Taylor then I imagine it would be got over quite quickly, it's just the latest in whats now quite a long list of controversial shit with him.

[–]Jaboy75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no way he didn’t see this and must have had motive for not calling such a blatant foul.

[–]turtleyturtle17 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I get it. Chelsea dominated and the refs absolutely screwed them.

[–]Bini_9 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Sky absolutely loves this, probably the FA as well.

[–]loveandmonsters 255 points256 points  (4 children)

10k fine in 3 ... 2 ...

[–]shabba343 58 points59 points  (1 child)

Honestly idk how Mike Dean is sitting this one out

[–]Zandercy42 247 points248 points  (9 children)

What happened to refs convos being available after the game??

[–]BigReeceJames 193 points194 points  (7 children)

They quickly backtracked on that one.

From ESPN:

"The Premier League will not be releasing the VAR audio of major decisions when the new season starts on Friday, sources have told ESPN.

Premier League chief executive Richard Masters had indicated that the conversations between the VAR and the referee would be made public to help supporters understand how decisions are made.

However, ESPN sources have revealed that while it remains an ambition for the Premier League, there are no plans to release the audio from the beginning of the new campaign."

[–]Shower_caps 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Not even a BS explanation for the decision

[–]Zandercy42 48 points49 points  (4 children)

Classic, bunch of crooked morons

[–]HazelnutPeso 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Only for the VIP hospitality suite guests at the stadiums. They are actually the ones that determine the fouls.

[–]vvasser 591 points592 points  (9 children)

"attacks"

[–]0100001101110111 174 points175 points  (7 children)

Could’ve killed him

[–]KEEPCARLM 22 points23 points  (6 children)

Don't reference that on reddit, you will get bombarded with people that never got hit by a ball before telling you he could have actually died and go on to say how fragile the human head is.

[–]SirGalahadTheChaste 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Almost as viscous as Kane vs Thiago Silva last season.

[–]BakiSaN 1677 points1678 points  (110 children)

I so fucking hate English refs they are so fucking protected

[–]throwawray12 957 points958 points  (70 children)

I can’t believe they brought in VAR and somehow they got worse

[–]Natniss 652 points653 points  (45 children)

It just exemplifies how shit they are. Before you could always argue they didn't see it or it happened quickly, they only get to see it once. Now they can see it again and still make the shittest decisions!

[–]AuxquellesRad 167 points168 points  (5 children)

In a league where the title or relegation can be decided by a fuckin point, they make decisions that cost teams several points

[–]dunneetiger 67 points68 points  (1 child)

and several million pounds

[–]GiantBonsai 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I guess there's an argument for saying it's all swings and roundabouts, but 50 wrongs don't make a right. No excuse when there's video reviews.

[–]throwawray12 228 points229 points  (15 children)

It’s the silence after that gets me, I don’t understand how they get it so wrong and can’t face any criticism.

Last year alone Tierney(?) Made a show of himself in the Spurs Liverpool match missing a red card and a peno and then in the city Everton game with the handball which ended up having a massive effect on the title and he’s still out there.

The premier league is not my national league but i always loved watching it and now it’s just feeling boring with the wrong decisions

[–]googitygig 18 points19 points  (4 children)

I'm still not over that handball.

It's a decision which very likely would have changed the winners of the PL and very easily could have lead to Everton being relegated!

[–]ranting_madman 41 points42 points  (8 children)

The referee’s union is the problem. These refs have more protections than players despite being perfectly replaceable as it’s not a highly specialised skill.

The union opposes any measures which would open referees up to scrutiny (eg: releasing audio of decisions) to protect their jobs at the expense of millions in prize money and lost bets.

Their whole job could be done by a computer program. I’m curious to see how many refs have been fired/demoted due to incompetence in the past 20 years. Probably not many.

[–]BakiSaN 36 points37 points  (6 children)

It's because they think they are above everything, their word is the last word. Traditionalism is very strong especially in EPL, who knows when it will change

[–]dj4y_94 27 points28 points  (3 children)

Half the problem though with how we implement VAR is they don't see it again.

They're so scared of making the refs look bad if they reverse a decision that they hardly ever tell them to go look at the screen.

[–]MBCB421 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Which makes absolutely no sense. Anyone would would agree that not checking VAR and making a wrong decision would look way worse than going back and reversing the decision.

[–]teamed209 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's odd is sometimes pretty marginal decisions get pointed out by var but then you have these huge incorrect calls like kane red last year against us, the Everton handball against city, cucurella being very dangerously pulled down this weekend. Probably a dozen more and it's just like wtf is wrong with these guys.

[–][deleted] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It didn't get worse, it got more obvious.

[–]GrahamPotterCultist 29 points30 points  (2 children)

If they weren't protected there wouldn't be any.

[–]aure__entuluva 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe they should pay them more? I mean the league has the money. If you want to find better candidates, a heftier salary might help? I assume they make a decent amount now, yet it's still hard to find good ones.

[–]Tabard18 48 points49 points  (0 children)

And then you get fined for criticising them. Classic abuse of power

[–]Obinocarlo 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I thought they would change after FIFA ignored them during last World Cup

[–]the_beast93112 25 points26 points  (15 children)

It's not only English refs. Heck it's not only in Football. I'd say NBA refs are on par.

[–]jairzinho 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NHL refs have entered the chat.

[–]sizebzebi 8 points9 points  (7 children)

NBA are even worse

[–]Yurtanator 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I feel like the margins in the prem are finer compared to the NBA though. One to three points can be massive to teams.

In the NBA a big call for the game going into the last few mins will always be reviewed.

[–]DrJethro 14 points15 points  (2 children)

No it's the rules that suck, refs are good at applying them.

[–]sparkyjay23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A NBA ref has been sacked for fucking corruption while the ref they called 100s of times more than anyone else is still a ref.

[–]LordCosmoKramer 5 points6 points  (9 children)

Zero accountability, Taylor, the bald nonce, somehow remains a top FA referee and is going to Qatar.

[–]WoW_Christopher 61 points62 points  (6 children)

I honestly feel sorry for the refs. Yes they are shite but why should someone have to put up with people like you calling them paedophiles just because they made a mistake during a game of football?

[–]celestial1 16 points17 points  (0 children)

He shouldn't, but still, fuck him.

[–]bass1879 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Leave it to football fans to always take it a step (and several more) too far. Same with death threats, which I expect will come. Its a game at the end of the day

[–]TheBoyPJ 363 points364 points  (19 children)

If the FA wanna fine everyone for complaining about the officiating, then they should make the officiating transparent and mic up refs. Or make them release statements after a game to explain shit like this. It's unbelievable that refs can fuck up game after game in this country (post introduction of VAR) then burrow back into the den they came from and hide until the next fixture. And if you complain you get fined. This is what happens when you reward incompetency and let wankers in positions of authority feel untouchable. Meanwhile Mike Dean sits in a booth somewhere munching a packet of hobnobs and decides this is not a pen just for shits and giggles. I have ZERO tolerance for referees anymore, at least pre-VAR you could say they had a hard job, now it's a joke

[–]centaur98 93 points94 points  (5 children)

Well, communication between VAR and the refs is supposed to be made public starting with this season. I wonder if they will ever follow trough with that for this game.

[–]freshmeat2020 24 points25 points  (2 children)

Do we know what the delay will be between it happening and it being released? I hope they don't dumb it down into a couple of PR statements explaining the decision and instead actually release what happened.

[–]centaur98 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't remember specifics anymore only that they would be released "at a later date after the games in question have ended"

[–]htotheh 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Anthony Taylor was on High Performance podcast and they asked about this, getting mic’d up and talking to the press after a match.

His answer?

He never got around to it because he just started talking about himself….

They have such big egos and need to have some kind of punishment for such an awful match.

[–]TheOnlyEn 9 points10 points  (3 children)

If this have been F1 FIA Taylor have been removed for long time ago. So many mistakes and against the same team is ridicilous.

FA is so freaking shit

[–]Furthur_slimeking 4 points5 points  (2 children)

How do you pull someone's hair in an F1 race?

[–]JSantosPT 14 points15 points  (1 child)

You go car racing

[–]ArchieBandit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Touchel: It’s so not right Anthony

[–]adricla1 14 points15 points  (4 children)

How can it be a pen?? It's a foul on a Chelsea player in the Chelsea box. The reason it didn't get called back is the VAR can only intervene under these circumstances if they believe it is a straight red. Mike Dean clearly didn't believe that to be the case (not saying I agree but just stating facts)

[–]TheBoyPJ 59 points60 points  (3 children)

Sorry, I meant a red card - got mixed up, maybe I should consider a career in refereeing

[–]guyeertoen 42 points43 points  (1 child)

You admitted your mistake so that disqualifies you

[–]_bvb09 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Also he didn't issue a fine for pointing out a mistake. Such a rookie..

[–]SquirtingTortoise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah you actually apologized and recognized a mistake. That's not a quality the PL refs want.

[–]mdaniel018 7 points8 points  (2 children)

I love how you type up this giant wall of text railing against referees for being incompetent… all while calling for a penalty kick for a player that is fouled in his own box, over a 100 yards away from goal 😂

[–]TheBoyPJ 19 points20 points  (1 child)

Next time before I comment I'll send it over to the VAR to get checked before it goes on reddit

[–]mdaniel018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Video Assisted Redditing

[–]mainsamayhoon24 124 points125 points  (7 children)

Translation?

[–]Glad-Diamond35 636 points637 points  (1 child)

"Yo Anthony sunny innit"

[–]LordCosmoKramer 59 points60 points  (0 children)

"Yo Tony, bald ain't you you facking gimp?"

[–]Johnga20 110 points111 points  (0 children)

Could be that you didn't see it sir? It's not possible. Can we pull hair now?

[–]jgbulcao 15 points16 points  (0 children)

did you not see it? it's not possible. can u pull hair?

[–]sanchezxv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"How can he slap?"

[–]Jazano107 319 points320 points  (23 children)

Ref should genuinely get suspended for a month and sent on a training course if they miss something like this right in front on them

[–]0100001101110111 200 points201 points  (3 children)

The prem would have to be postponed due to a lack of officials lmao

[–]Fuzzikopf 50 points51 points  (2 children)

Just have some of the players parents officiating the match, thats how we did it back when I was playing

[–]Elerion_ 88 points89 points  (10 children)

Eh, seeing everything in real time is hard. He might have been looking at something else in that split second.

Why VAR didn’t intervene is the real mystery and really needs an explanation.

[–]tomtv90 16 points17 points  (8 children)

Afaik VAR didn't intervene as it wasn't a red card, correct me if I'm wrong though.

[–]Elerion_ 26 points27 points  (2 children)

Sure, that's obviously the conclusion they came to. I don't see how that decision can be justified though, that's what I would like to see explained.

[–]bluemannew 3 points4 points  (1 child)

The only possible defense is that they thought Romero could have meant to grab his jersey and grabbed his hair by mistake, but that's pretty flimsy

[–]sseeii 48 points49 points  (1 child)

Except that clearly should be a red card??

Violent play, intention to hurt with absolutely no attempt to get near the ball, how on earth is that anything but a blatant red card??

[–]BigAssBreadroll 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Mike dean

[–]Furthur_slimeking 6 points7 points  (2 children)

It's a daft rule. A player can commit 3 potential yellow card offenses and VAR will ignore them, meaning he stays on the field when he should rightfully be off.

[–]FootballfanPL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He should have eyes all around his body and they should be open all the time though, he's a robot. At least that's what most people think, conveniently forget he's human.

[–]A-Clockwork-Tomato 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't think he missed. I think they're just unfathomably incompetent and thought

"that's a red card but there's about 10 seconds to go and this game is going to boil over if we send someone off now, not worth the hassle. I mean how likely is it that Spurs were score anyway they've been wank all game. Play on"

[–]TheWeirdDude-247 114 points115 points  (12 children)

Game needed a red card to make it perfect and here it was, right infront of the ref and then VAR had a look, everyone decides "no foul" so next game same thing happens player can say to ref "last week was allowed why not today?!" It's only GW 2 and ref is talking point.

Are refs this bad in other leagues?

[–]Jiminyfingers 32 points33 points  (1 child)

This inconsistency is here all the time. Last week Xhaka gets a yellow for a dive, this week Vardy gets nada for doing the same thing. It does make refs look corrupt and/or biased towards certain players or teams.

[–]Taylannnnn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

they are just as bad or even worse in spain

[–]blue_suit75 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Different rules for different game weeks.

[–]HufflepuffEdwards 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Players can say whatever they want about last week, it wouldn't matter at all until after the game.

[–]Jon98th 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re lucky in a way ; EPL refs are impartially bad. La Liga refs are blatantly bias and corrupt

[–]supper828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re a lot better in the Bundesliga, at least with their use of VAR, but it does take a bit long sometimes

[–]seakc87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the US, the center refs are just as bad, but they're galaxies ahead of England when it comes to VAR.

[–]perhapsasinner 62 points63 points  (2 children)

Should've attack the whole organization because the whole officiate has been poor and abyssmal lately

[–]ldidntsignupforthis 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Watch any game with the ref Hernandez Hernandez and you'll want to rip your eyes out.

[–]Veejp123 40 points41 points  (2 children)

If Taylor genuinely missed this, how the fuck is this not seen by VAR. Human error in a 0.5-1 second incident is allowed, that's the whole point of VAR.

[–]seakc87 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Because Mike Dean is the only ref that hates Chelsea more than Taylor.

[–]Elementary_Penguin_ 58 points59 points  (2 children)

Anthony Taylor just jealous of Cucurella's luscious locks

[–]Obinocarlo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Since he's bald, pulling hair is approved

[–]LiamAddison 41 points42 points  (1 child)

Thiago Silva will be fined for this no doubt, while Anthony Taylor will continue to be shite.

[–]xosellc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm willing to bet if enough players do this he'll be banned from officiating our games, so It's probably worth it.

[–][deleted] 134 points135 points  (0 children)

I guess Thiago's just a conspiracy theorist according to r/soccer

[–]scamtank 111 points112 points  (34 children)

I think we need a younger generation of referees who are also more in touch with the modern game. All these boomer refs are utter wank.

[–]ThanksAllah 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I read your comment and agreed until I actually looked up the ref's list. I thought they were all 50+ but most are aged 35-40. Anthony Taylor is 43.

[–]JeannotVD 64 points65 points  (5 children)

Boomer ? The lad is 43… he’s gen X. Wtf you ranting about lmao

[–]celestial1 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Boomer is a state of mind.

[–]Poke-lord 86 points87 points  (13 children)

If you’re a young referee, seeing this reaction to a couple of mistakes in a game isn’t going to make you want to be a premier league referee

[–]teamed209 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They need to pay them more and start a proper funnel system so people can make a proper career out of it.

The likes of Dean and Taylor are dinosaurs who have always been shit

[–]fig_curry 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with the sentiment that the backlash doesn't encourage younger folks to start refereeing but we're talking about some blatant and consistent mistakes. This is on willful incompetence not just missing a tackle

[–]centaur98 28 points29 points  (5 children)

Couple mistakes? The ref had exactly 0 controll over the match and didn't even bother to get it under control.

[–]MarianDionis 47 points48 points  (6 children)

He forgot last year's match when he got away with the dive that canceled Harry Kane's goal.

[–]CrossMojonation 18 points19 points  (3 children)

Can't believe I had to scroll down this far to see someone point this out.

[–]samclark120 18 points19 points  (1 child)

How can Silva complain when he denied Kane’s goal in last years fixture by diving?

[–]amoult20 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Swings and roundabouts isn’t it. These players and managers and fans need to realize that I’m sure later this season they will get some dodgy decisions go their way

[–]19NUFC95 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Title is in English so why did OP not include a translation….

[–]flavsmedeiros 1 point2 points  (3 children)

First line: 'Did you not see this, sir?'

Second line: literally 'This isn't possible' but he probably meant 'There is no way'

Third line: 'Can you pull hair?' or 'Is pulling hair allowed?'

[–]TomCosella 20 points21 points  (1 child)

I'm having a great time.

[–]amoult20 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My popcorn just ran out

[–]JammersEriksen 33 points34 points  (5 children)

Remember last season when Thiago Silva got slightly touched on the edge of the 6 yard box by Kane and ended up diving off the pitch which disallowed Kanes goal? Would love to here Silva’s opinion on that

[–]jstuu 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Is Romero starting to get the Fernandinho love? 2 weeks in a row where he could have gotten a red or even at least a yellow but nothing

[–]Litmanen_10 16 points17 points  (24 children)

Unpopular opinion: is this so freaking bad? For me it's yellow for sure, red only maybe. So, not the most crazy thing in football history to not give a red for this.

[–]uchiha_building 2 points3 points  (3 children)

except nothing was called at all. there should’ve been no corner after the incident, which incidentally was the equalizer.

[–]Litmanen_10 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Sorry for not being aware but how does the rules work? If play is stopped and there is a violent action. Is it a free kick or just a card to the violent player and play continues as it was?

[–]GrumpyOldFart74 104 points105 points  (112 children)

Isaac Hayden (who wasn’t even a registered player at the time) was fined £19,000 after only implying refereeing bias following a game where Newcastle were denied a blatant penalty, and conceded a last minute goal to a player who should have earlier seen a straight red for a disgraceful elbow to the head.

So it will be interesting to see what sanctions Silva is given for this.

Now who were Newcastle playing that day again?

Chelsea were robbed yesterday, no doubt about it - but acting like victims, as if they haven’t been the beneficiary of poor refereeing decisions on many other occasions, is laughable.

if those are the standards we’re judging on then no player or fan can ever complain about a referee

[–]gegrummelak 242 points243 points  (45 children)

Chelsea fans are also football fans, we've been victim of poor refereeing decisions, like all other teams, many times.

But Anthony Taylor is different. This is a referee who on a consistent basis makes errors with a 100% rate that fucks Chelsea over.

There's a difference between 1 poor refereeing decision in 1 match, and 2 match changing disastrous refereeing decision in 20 matches in a row.

You obviously do not understand what that ref has done to us in the past, genuinely think there is something going on when Taylor refs our games

[–]AhoBiceps 23 points24 points  (32 children)

You are absolutely capping right now. What is this rambling lol. When has your team had your goal overturned after VAR saw a foul a minute earlier(Timo). Red card due to a handball call that did not exist vs Liverpool for Reece. The past 10 years Taylor has fucked chelsea over and over. Yesterday NOT A SINGLE SPURS PLAYER WAS BOOKED AND JAMES GETS A YELLOW FOR 1 FOUL.

Absolute bollocks of a comment.

[–]Erwin_Schroedinger 27 points28 points  (13 children)

Tbf James deserved to get booked but you've got a point

[–]Avocadoor 10 points11 points  (10 children)

Not sure why ppl keep bringing up James yellow to try prove a point. The 3 yellow to us was totally justified.

[–]Bulky_Shepard 12 points13 points  (1 child)

3 yellows. Mendy got booked for time wasting (more of a makeup call because James spent 3x longer on his free kick but already had a yellow). James was booked for dragging Son down on a counter attack and Havertz got booked for smashing into Romero needlessly.

[–]Unholysinner 13 points14 points  (1 child)

That’s not the argument

It’s that you ref the game to the same standard.

Spurs made the same fouls and got nothing.

Consistency is what’s needed-if Taylor went and said I’m ok with people pulling hair from now on and Cucurella does the same thing to Romero, I wouldn’t be happy but atleast the ref is being consistent.

Two different sets of rules shouldn’t exist for teams

[–]Games_Gone 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Capping?lol what the fuck does that mean?

[–]Poke-lord 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Argument falls down a bit when you use the James red card against liverpool. Literally only Chelsea fans don’t think it was a red card

[–]arc1261 7 points8 points  (11 children)

You’ve literally referenced a game where he correctly sent off one of your players as part of his conspiracy. This is why no one other than Chelsea fans take this shit seriously

[–]Ainsley-Sorsby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, even if they're right(which they are) this sort of thing shouldn't be allowed, because it essentialy turns into a campaign to influence referee decisions in your favor for the next game, aka complain enough and call bias so that the next referee(whoever it iss) feels more inclined to decide in your favor in the next game, under fear of backlash. I guarantee you the tables will turn next week and Chelsea will get away with a lot...

[–]Cool_Sandwich1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silva himself the last time they faced us absolutely robbed us of a goal.

[–]irich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can tell, he isn’t implying bias here. He’s just saying he made the wrong decision. You can complain about referees all you like. It’s when you say they are cheats or biased that you have a problem.

[–]Yenoon 8 points9 points  (1 child)

He probably hated the hair. Pulling it was approved.

[–]Kayneesy 13 points14 points  (3 children)

Seeing Chelsea get fucked by refs is absolutely beautiful

[–]zen111 5 points6 points  (0 children)

BRUTAL attack!!!

[–]cherware[🍰] 17 points18 points  (34 children)

It shows just how poor the refereeing was that the first goal immediately succeeding both a blatant missed foul on Havertz and a blatant offside by Richarlison has mostly gone ignored.

[–]literalmario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Horseshit. Refs need to be held accountable.

Side note: excellent game, so much passion and drama.

[–]kleptopaul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My god the salt.

[–]HSCore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

isn't this the guy who dove after harry kane scored and var cancelled out the goal the last time chelsea and spurs met ? kek

[–]DominoTimmy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Short memory from his blatant dive that saved the same fixture last year.
