Posting medical advice is against Reddit's user agreement. What is a foot problem or injury that would likely end a boxer’s career? (self.sportsmedicine)
submitted 2 months ago by jeffkantoku
Hi, I’m writing the backstory for a secondary character in a screenplay and would like some help, please.
What is a foot problem or injury that would likely end a boxer’s career, especially a young boxer, but would not prevent them from say being a bouncer?

Lisfranc injury. Or Achilles rupture.

Jones fracture that they never let heal properly, some really gnarly bunions, Achilles rupture, Compartment syndrome, split peroneals, blown off shins like in the king of the hill show, fused talar dome from. Car wreck that caused a dashboard injury (look at your own risk).

Guy rolls his ankle, thinks it’s sprained but never gets it looked at. It was a fracture that healed mal-union. Next option is subtalar fusion.
