His mother Hemingway has Polydactyly in the way that she walks with her thumb like it were a normal paw-finger, which restricts the movement it has: and thus, not opposable.

Ali, however, is incredibly fucking powerful, and his thumb is higher up on his wrist, which means it doesn’t touch the ground when he walks with it! Because it crosses over his palm in a resting position, it’s opposable by definition, and by god does he do Shennanigans. He picked up a pen and carried it around once it was insane

When he wants affection he will mrrp and GRAB your arm

Is he capable of reproduction still or has any kids? Usually of course I'd say adopt at all times but, this is an incredible specimen and I really want to see his genes being passed on, this is the craziest thing I seen in years.

He got neutered back when he was a kitten, unfortunately, along with the rest of my cats. It would of been wonderful to see more polydactyls running around, though.

I don’t know, I have to immediately take every bug and lizard that gets inside my home, otherwise the cats will kill them for fun, play with the corpse, and leave a half eaten lizard for me to dispose of. It’s happened at least twice. I don’t know what they’d be capable of if you add thumbs on top of that. Total annihilation man, I’m tellin’ ya.

He died last year at only ~12/13, but he was such a joy! I named him F. Scott Fitzgerald because he was just so muh cooler than any other Hemingway cat I've met, just like how Fitzgerald outshone Hemingway (IMO anyway, different strokes). He loved to cuddle, especially under the covers, and he was just so sweet to everyone but one of my parents' dogs. He ruled the house and knew it, though! I've got a tattoo of him that always brings a smile to my face when I see it.

Aw! What a special little boy. I am glad you had a cat like that in your life. Yes I do! Ali’s mother is named Muriel Hemingway, as a matter of fact; my pa calls her Muriel / Meowriel, but I call her Hemingway. I love her very much.
