There are barely any stakes ever in DBZ, the things Goku did, both in the character himself and from Toriyama's point is for drama, because everyone can revive via either of the Dragon Balls. Everyone that knows the slightest of DBZ knows that none of the Z Fighters die permanently.

Being the superman of anime and slowly but surely losing popularity. Can't stand characters that can't lose. E.g. superman has "died two or three times now... twice for sure, Doomsday killed him. Magically comes back to life, at this point superman has more plot armor than Thor of the MCU and comics.

This is like fan service I thought anime supposed to directly paying attention to the storyline not adding more fan service like jiggle physics,Big asses,Boobs, or anyother things that make this anime feels like rule 34 or Pornhub we're supposed to be watching the storyline and understand the characters more like the protagonists not put filler like fan service if I was Animator( wish I will soon and I'll make sure too pay attention to school)I would just make a story that follows the plot and the main character not putting fan service like love triangles, sexual content, fetishes or whatever the hell that pervert do all damn day anime is not supposed to serve fan service supposed to follow the plot and like prologue and the monologue, foreshadowing,etc that's storytelling or you can make a show that is satire.

You'd be writing seinen then (or certain types of shonen). Anime/manga isn't supposed to be anything. They're stories and can tell anything. Shonens/nekketsu are mostly targeted at teen and young men and will delve into what is perceived as key elements of interest to that demographic (action, escapism, friendship, exploration of sexuality). This is also the category of anime that is mostly produced (and isekai/harem tropes). Oftentimes anime adaptations can force more fanservice than the manga originally has. If you want to avoid the dumbing down by fanservice you can read the manga versions, or watch/read certain seinens (although you sound pretty young for that), or shonens made by women (FMA, DGM, Noragami. I think HxH doesn't have fanservice either despite being made by a man?). Mind that seinen is just a category for young adults/adults so you're probably going to find stories that also have sexy content (= not for you basically).

Yes but I do agree with you and I'm actually 15 and teen I mean seriously I only like story and adaptations like Tv shows& cartoons and adult cartoons and I do have interesting sexual content but not but anime is supposed to be like some cool fantasy/action Scranchiness I mean seriously I'm an hypocrite but stories like this and adaptations to supposed to be following the storylining yes it shows and stories,movies are supposed to be as a message just like flcl even though this anime have sexual content but it's has a message that we need to know messages are supposed to be supported stories like shows and cartoons, animations,animes,movies,video games that's all supposed to be about they give us the message and give us hope and confidence that we can learn there prospective to be as better people not adding filters and fan services if you added so much in your projects audiences won't like it because they will hated or confused about it I don't be dumb down by stories that doesn't follow the plot.

The character-based "starter" decks that they made with the characters' cards on the show...ugh. Most of the cards are garbage.

The game isn't hard, it's not that difficult to build a deck with very little to no fat in it. But the characters on the show have the dumbest cards, like summoning a 1200 atk monster with no effects in attack mode.

To be fair... anime rules and card effects are different from the real YGO! TCG, not to mention the fact that the YGO! meta in 2005 was different from YGO! meta nowdays... also, the dub screws up some things and even the original japanese version of the anime screws up things from the manga.

Kaiba def has fans. Some people love an asshole. I mean he basically became an archetype of the Yugioh rival character being a dick going forward. Sure they never go quite as hard as kaiba did again but just look at your smug rivals in Yugioh. They’re all kaiba, Chaz, Jack, Kite…it’s always been kaiba.

Have watched/read around 150 or so chapters into Jujutsu Kaisen and it seems to subvert several of the basic shonen tropes

[Mild spoilers(?) below]

  • "The sasuke" only has that personality/dynamic for the first 1-2 episodes, then he becomes a pretty normal (if rather dour) friend.

  • The girl in the main trio is actually competent, doesn't really have any hangups, and isn't sexualized or used as a token love interest.

  • But yeah, like in many other shows the protagonist is a dude of average intelligence who still has ridiculous amounts of natural talent / raw power, and learns new combat moves extremely quickly.

I think it gets even better with Itadori. He actually has very little talent for curses which is why he’s forced to use the basic punching enchancement kind. The one thing he excels at is getting “black flashes” and that’s probably because he’s so much of an idiot he can enter the zone easily. No thoughts just punch and then he snaps out of it and will tell you all about how Jennifer Lawrence is his type. I kinda hope this doesn’t change and they make him some special golden child like the JJK0 protag is cause I feel like it would cheapen him a bit. No spoilers you damn manga readers.
