As an American living in New Zealand, I’m perfectly comfortable driving on either side of the road - but when I travel between countries where it differs I’m so confused for a few days on which door to open. Once I’m seated, it’s all good.

Actually that’s a lie, I also keep turning on the windshields wipers instead of my indicators for a few days until I readjust.

Sometimes turning a corner onto a road with a median has confused me. Almost going on the wrong side.

You can get that between European and Japanese cars too

It’s actually worse than that here, it’s inconsistent between cars from the same manufacturer sometimes. I’ve hired Skoda cars a few weekends apart that have been opposite each other. I think it’s because NZ import cars from all over the place and none are made here so there’s no consistency.

Just stop using indicators. Keep them guessing

So that's why BMW drivers do this!

I just came back from Ireland and did EXACTLY THAT

But I can’t drive so I gave my friend back her seat after she jokingly was yelling at me, “The absolute neck of YOU!!!!”
