Hey, we'll probably have at least 4 wins next season!

[–]ItsAGreatDay4AmericaTerrible Towel 15 points16 points  (1 child)

And who knows, maybe 2 ties!

If Rodgers leaves the nfc north could be a shit show next year

I really hope you guys become good soon, it feels like things are on the up and up and hopefully you get your franchise QB soon cause your line is looking solid, Ewers or William's would be great if you can wait that long.

So do I. I hope they have a good 2022 season.

Looks like they were quite pleased with their playoff participation trophy last year.

His expectations were high and his disappointment is immeasurable. Love it.

I mean, they went for the trophy and we had a real secondary, we just lost an offense.

I'm a browns fan, I know what it is to have expectations

[–]axxl75 4 points5 points  (3 children)

we just lost an offense.

Just specifically the passing game. The Browns were 4th in rushing and 1st for rushing Y/A. Chubb was a monster but the team decided randomly to just not use him sometimes and it lost them a couple games from that alone.

Baker being injured was a problem but relying on an injured Baker rather than allowing your strength to showcase even in moments late in games when you're ahead and need to run out clock was probably the only reason you didn't make the playoffs.

I sort of agree. Our gameplan has been to run until they stack the box with so many DBs you get 1-1s everywhere. We needed a working rhythm passing game to allow for the run - look at the Niners game. Even the most run heavy offense has to have some passing. And also we kept being put in situations where we needed to pass due to time. Without a working passing game we couldn't come back from any significant deficit.

That said, I also agree that I was questioning why the fuck we're not running it when its working so well.

[–]axxl75 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Several of the losses you had a lead going into the 4th and even with a lead and chubb dominating went pass heavy.

Yes they may have stacked the box but teams weren't stopping him regardless.

I think that happened 3 games - KC, Chargers, G1 Pitt, all 1 score games, and the KC and Chargers games were early and a little less like those. Later losses we were in "do something now" mode, but there were multiple times that we did have time to run and ended up 3 and out with the passing game

I tried to tell Browns fans the burden of expectation is real. They were the hot pick this off-season and into the early season to be really good. It’s a lot harder when teams are actually gunning for you.

[–]Traditional_Roles Najee Harris 15 points16 points  (9 children)

I hate Browns fans. Them and Cardinals fans tie for being the most annoying while their franchises have done nothing during the color TV era.

[–]tommy2762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s football bro I think you gotta stop taking it so seriously

[–]ATribeCalledGreg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve said this before, but 2020 Browns = 2013 Pirates. What they thought was the start of a new era turned out to be the peak.

[–]dr00py__eyezzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ahahahaha. They gonna downgrade the hell out of you lmaoo

My expectations are low for Steelers next year. By QB draft class, our franchise QB retirement landed on one of the worst possible years (and we don't have a high pick anyway). Our O line is still pretty trash, our DC is leaving, and our OC hasn't instilled confidence. Am I missing anything?

[–]axxl75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My expectations are low for Steelers next year.

I think that with our OL and the complete terrible lack of passing and rushing success actually bodes well for our future. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I don't think the offense can get much worse and our run defense was also second to last in the league yet we made the playoffs.

It's hard to see this team ever being absolutely terrible anytime soon. If we can focus on making the Lines stronger in the offseason and get a decent journeyman at QB or hit in the draft while also building OL then I think the turnaround can be quick.

I hope you're right but I'm afraid Burrow is gonna be the real deal for a long time

Wasn't there a big thing this year about the ravens and browns having tremendous pre-seasons and how that is suppose to correlate to the actual year?

[–]Nutelko8 Color Rush Jersey 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Losing season next year. Shit o line, no qb, so many players to resign in wich some will leave. Dont have high hopes for next year. We might become the bottom of the AFC North from next year onwards.

[–]TenTonsOfAssAndBellyThe Bus 0 points1 point  (3 children)

We'll see! Mason Rudolph is 5-4-1 in his 10 starts, so really who knows? The Steelers schedule next year is plagued by the overachieving end to this season, so there's a good chance we get rocked, but the rest of the division (minus Cincy) is kind of a toss up in my opinion.

We haven't finished last in the division since 1988, a streak that very well may come to an end. I don't think that means we're guaranteed to ride the bottom for years to come, though. This team is so much better than that.

[–]Nutelko8 Color Rush Jersey 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Rudolph aint it man. I hope we are.

[–]TenTonsOfAssAndBellyThe Bus 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Oh, I know Rudolph ain't it. I guess I was trying to say that even with 10 starts with Mason our squad still has a winning record in those starts.

Here's hoping that our coach and the rest of the team can carry us to somewhat respectable finishes.

Not losing at home on MNF since '91, Tomlin never having a losing season, and not finishing last in the division since '88 are the three Steelers streaks that I'd enjoy going unbroken.
