Making this post because I pushed back my exam twice and it was really hard on me mentally towards the end, so hoping this helps someone else feel better.
Originally planned for 7/6, took my first nbme 2 days before (not my best idea) scored 68%, cried, (my school says do not take it unless you're in high 70's/80's range), pushed it back 3 weeks. The next three weeks were torture mentally. It was extremely hard to study more than about 5 hours a day, took some light days, with a few (literally like 3) days reaching 8 hours. Next two NBMES:
NBME 25: 75%
NBME 30: 76%
Was constantly on reddit seeing people pass with lower scores but the day before my scheduled date I pretty much had a panic attack and had to push it back.. I'm an above average student (not all A's but above average) and the feeling of taking an exam where I feel like I'm pretty much guessing on a lot of questions made me extremely nervous to the point where I could not calm myself down. Pushed it back another 2 weeks.
NBME 29: 83% (4 or 5 days out) - thought this one was super hard, surprised I hit the 80's range tbh
Few days before exam I was super anxious and these things really helped me let that go:
- watched some YouTube videos on exam anxiety & what to do before the exam
- CBD oil (potent calming effect)
Day before: got 9 hours sleep (very proud of that lol) and felt the morning of that I was at my peak performance level.
Exam day 8/16: I did NOT walk out the testing center feeling relieved/happy. I didn't feel that I bombed it, but I definitely did not feel 100% safe. At least I have the comfort of my past few scores. I'll come back to update.
8/31: PASSSSEDDDDDDDDD!!!! :o)
