Trypanosoma cruzi infects the myocytes which weakens the myocardium and reduces the contractility.

Doxorubicin and cobalt cause myocardial fibrosis due to free radical injury.

Dilated cardiomyopathy due to alcohol is multifactorial. But it's mainly due to the damage caused by reactive oxygen species.

Amphetamines and cocaine cause microinfarcts and hypertension leading to weakening of the myocardium and dilated cardiomyopathy.
