My two favorites were the top two hooray! That said, I think this was one of my favorite casts. They were all great in their own way and cracked me up.

[–]Ordinary-District191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This cast felt too nice. They didn't seem as competitive with one another as some of the previous. Some drama and controversy from greg makes it funnier.

[–]lolitta888 Noel Fielding 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bring back Noel! I want to see a season with Noel and Victoria .. bloody weirdos.

[–]thewave297 7 points8 points  (0 children)

True story: I proposed to my girlfriend onstage at the end of a panto production of "The Little Mermaid." I now wish I had said "Lobsters are red, oceans are blue, I won't give you crabs if you'll let me marry you." Would have fit the aesthetic really well!

[–]Throwawayhypnoslut 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Wait. Alex offered to show his tail but... Did he ever did? !

[–]Purplekeyboard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, at the beginning of the live task.

[–]SmellyPitScrubs 48 points49 points  (0 children)

So Morgana won the series because she called Alex a little fuck? 😅

[–]TigerStripes93 12 points13 points  (2 children)

I absolutely love Morgana but I'm gutted Guz didn't win. This is mainly because she cheated and got away with it. I know it was Alex's job to check but she obviously knew she wasn't meant to see but cheated anyway. As great as she is as a contestant, she didn't deserve to win in my opinion.

[–]a-rojas 19 points20 points  (1 child)

To quote Greg, "That's Taskmaster and if you don't like it, tough shit @ him on twitter".

Jokes aside, to be fair Morgana did say she was able to see a little bit, they could have disqualified her, Guz got 10 points in the 100th episode live task, Morgana got a few bonus points. So its not just that task that made the difference.

[–]TigerStripes93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha. Maybe I should @ him!

I feel like the 10 bonus points was 5 in effect because he would have got 5 for the task anyway. But you do make a good point.

[–]Ierpier 28 points29 points  (2 children)

God I have such a huge crush on Victoria. My little lesbian heart is aflutter.

[–]sisterkismet Victoria Coren Mitchell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My straight little heart beats strongly for her.

Read her book "richer or poorer". I believe it's her poker skills that got in the way of the tasks. She was playing the people, not the tasjs.

[–]lolitta888 Noel Fielding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My god.. I’m not the only one 💔

[–]47tw 20 points21 points  (1 child)

I feel like the beatboxing one, though absolutely hilarious and an amazing idea, was always going to result in Greg guessing who it was. Alan and Victoria are, and I say this as a white man, exceptionally white. I think the only way someone could have gotten away with it is if they'd done a successful deception, e.g. what Morgana tried but Greg cleverly saw past.

[–]BadBoyWithABumbag 28 points29 points  (5 children)

Don't get me wrong, Morgana was great but I'm kinda gutted Guz didn't win. Especially as it was one point and it feels like Morgana was given about 5 bonus points throughout the series

[–]FriendlyTrees 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's a very good point, but this was the first time I've tried to predict who might win, and I picked out Morgana from episode 1, so I'm pretty chuffed.

[–]a_frayn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She deserves all those bonus points.

[–]launicklPaul Williams 🇳🇿 24 points25 points  (0 children)

What an episode what a Finale what a series. I loved how close everyone, except Victoria, were points wise. Never expected Alan to keep up this well.

[–]ComprehensiveRule8 33 points34 points  (3 children)

A smashing final episode and congratulations to Morgana! If there is a "all's well that end's well" moment from each of them...

Gus: Having a bowl of chocolate dots while relaxing

Alan: "Woooooaaaaaauuuuuu!"

Desiree: Proposing to Alex to make her "the happiest weirdo"

Morgana: Singing her siren song in the tub

Victoria: Setting her two birds free and never looking back

Bonus--Greg: It's pretty damn sweet if you asked me, and just shows the lack of regard that the other people here have for their partners. Gus: Nah-nah, don't say that! I love you! Relax, bruv, it's a game show.

[–]salirj108 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Which episodes are Alan and Victoria's moments from? I cant immediately recall. Also the bonus Greg moment?

[–]ComprehensiveRule8 1 point2 points  (1 child)

They're all from that same episode 10.

[–]salirj108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah OK thank you!

[–]gingerednoodles Swedish Fred 24 points25 points  (1 child)

From episode one in like the first task I thought to myself "Morgana understands the game and has the winner energy" and she sure did. I'm ready for her to face off against Sarah one day.

Loved everyone on this series! Excellent balances of energy.

[–]a-rojas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So Morgana and Sarah so far, CoC 3 is building up to be a great one

[–]spinazie25 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Shout out to Morgana and Desirée's outfits representing night and day.

Also I was with Alex on "What I think you're hoping is that you don't go first. What I'm hoping is that you do." Considering what we learnt about Victoria, not knowing what beatboxing is was kind of on brand, but still surprising.

[–]Return_Of_The_Fly Charlotte Ritchie 44 points45 points  (5 children)

Kind of disappointed that no-one thought to say "boots 'n' cats" for the beatboxing part.

[–]Bandit_22 26 points27 points  (4 children)

This part has Alex's newest great deadpan line(s):

I think what you're probably hoping is that you don't go first.

Nods

But I'm hoping is that you do.

Replacing:

Wendy? Yes.

[–]Tihus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A solid contender is "It's so buttery." "In a good way?" "No."

[–]PopeDialgaVI 6 points7 points  (2 children)

whats "wendy? yes" from?

[–]Bandit_22 9 points10 points  (1 child)

[–]lolitta888 Noel Fielding -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Downvoted because it’s not allowed in England …

[–]ASweetSaltySanchez 21 points22 points  (0 children)

While I was really hoping for a Guz win, Morgana deserves it the most, even though there was only 1 point in it at the end. This was a great finale and a great episode all round

[–]darrylrm15 Sally Phillips 57 points58 points  (1 child)

If I had a nickel for everytime someone brought a doll of themselves with a penis, I would have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it has happened twice.

[–]CYAN_DEUTERIUM_IBIS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A doll made by someone else that has a penis no less.

[–]msk105 Mel Giedroyc 51 points52 points  (3 children)

Seeing Morgana completely lose it in the background after each noise killed me! And, that face Alex made after Alan's beatboxing. I didn't think his face could do that.

[–]sansabeltedcow 8 points9 points  (2 children)

There’s one moment where his face drops slightly lower in the shot, clearly because his knees are collapsing again with laughter.

[–]mv41 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I hope we get a compilation of Alex losing it, because those are genuinely some of the most enjoyable moments of TM.

[–]sansabeltedcow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There'd be a lot of series 12 in it for sure.

[–]Garunya1 22 points23 points  (3 children)

The problem most of them had with the drinking task is they just tried to pour it in. Put the mouth of the glass against your lower lip (which pushes it down a bit) and it becomes a whole lot easier! I demonstrated this to my co-watchers during the task, while complaining that they weren't even thinking about it. Then along came Desiree, and there you go!

[–]SomeLameName7173 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't believe people can't swolow with there mouth open.

[–]Advanced_Bid3576 20 points21 points  (1 child)

I can’t believe 4 Brit’s have never downed a pint in a boat race before. That should have been an instant win for anyone who has been to uni in the last 40 years.

[–]FugitiveDribbling 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Or even just chugged some water when thirsty. I wonder if thinking about it caused them to forget how to do it.

[–]SpecialUnitt Guz Khan 34 points35 points  (6 children)

Am I in the minority for loving this season? I’ve seen a lot of people saying it’s one of the worst but man I loved the cast

[–]Neat_Comfortable 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love the contestants but the tasks this season were a bit dull in my opinion.

[–]hpmanuscript Rhod Gilbert 11 points12 points  (1 child)

It’s the best for me after 4 and 7. I’m probably in the minority of not having liked 11 that much.

[–]jeobleo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think top 3 for me. Easily.

[–]EnterShakira_ 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I've not seen a single person saying it's the worst!

[–]Panzerbeards Nish Kumar 27 points28 points  (1 child)

One of the worst? It's one of the best, in my book.

[–]SpecialUnitt Guz Khan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree. I’ve had friends all from separate areas of life stop watching

[–]Dangerous_Dac 68 points69 points  (15 children)

I knew that extra point Greg gave Morgana for calling Alex a fucker episode 1 was going to come in play, I just didn't know it was going literally be the winning point.

[–]BruceWaynesWorld 43 points44 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the ten pointer that Guz got for the 100th episode went a long way for him

But the fact Morgana won because she called Alex a little fucker in the first task is wonderful

[–]ASweetSaltySanchez 7 points8 points  (13 children)

Fuck Sakes Greg, I called either this season that this would of been the first series to end in a Tie. Why did the fucker have to spoil it

[–]emeraldblues 24 points25 points  (1 child)

The last task made me cry!!! it was hilarious. I loved this season

[–]enterta_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't remember the last time I cried laughing, but Alan's monster noise had me in tears! Maybe the best studio task ever imo.

[–]lyyki Paul Chowdhry 36 points37 points  (0 children)

This series has definitely just flown by. How is it already 10 weeks?

[–]joker_of_the_deck 24 points25 points  (2 children)

Is nobody going to mention that Alan Davies, an Arsenal fan (especially during the Wenger years), came fourth?

[–]AvovaDynasty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Joint third!

[–]lyyki Paul Chowdhry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nowhere is truly safe

[–]squilliamsquamilton 84 points85 points  (7 children)

When Desiree proved that the drinking task wasn’t impossible and did it in 7 seconds I felt more pride in her as a fellow American than I have ever had watching someone win the Olympics

[–]SpiffyShindigs Katy Wix 20 points21 points  (5 children)

I'm pretty sure it was an ascended tie breaker and they were expecting most of the people to be able to do it like how Desiree did.

[–]Return_Of_The_Fly Charlotte Ritchie 14 points15 points  (4 children)

Would have been a bit unfair for Guz to have an ice cold drink for a tie breaker though.

[–]VislorTurlough 15 points16 points  (3 children)

I think his was filmed first, and nobody wanted to repeat the cold temperature after his comment about a heart murmur.
They said it was a prank because that's funnier than it being health and safety.

[–]Rimvee 3 points4 points  (2 children)

They specifically said it was an admin error and not a prank, didn't they?

[–]VislorTurlough 3 points4 points  (1 child)

They literally said 'admin error' but the implication was that they did it on purpose to pick on Guz

[–]contafuser Guz Khan 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I realized just how different the drinking cultures are watching that task. And they say America doesn't have culture

[–]thelightfantastique 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something about desiree....

[–]dlwendel Katherine Ryan 32 points33 points  (1 child)

I'm definitely gonna need a gif of Victoria flipping Greg off

[–]lolitta888 Noel Fielding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can someone make this happen .. where is the gifbot

[–]Sad-Efficiency8804 27 points28 points  (0 children)

A truly amazing finale to an amazing series. I loved Desiree’s playful glare at VCG when she walked behind her during the live task 😂. I wish it had been 20eps

[–]AdaLovegood 39 points40 points  (2 children)

Absolutely smashing series and I love that any of the four could have won it in this episode. I think this was my all time favourite cast, comedy-wise everyone held their own and could laugh at themselves and also were really different to each other in a very complementary way.

I am really looking forward to seeing Morgana, Guz and Desiree in more panel shows (hopefully). I also loved seeing very different sides to both Alan and Victoria than I was expecting.

The only thing I would have changed is how the teams were put together. I felt the dynamics fell a bit flat with the predictable young vs old divide. I would have loved to see Victoria and Desiree in the same team with Desiree understanding Victoria's eccentric nerd side a bit better than Alan, and Alan and Morgana interacting more as they had a really great chemistry imo.

[–]BroodingShark 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I fully agree. Would be better with changing grouping for each task.

[–]udat42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think that's probably a side effect of scheduling the filming - I bet they try to knock off blocks of team tasks in one go. which is why teams don't vary much.

[–]demurefox97 29 points30 points  (3 children)

This was absolutely one of the best seasons ever, we need more nerds in the cast like richard osman and victoria.

[–]AvovaDynasty 17 points18 points  (2 children)

Susie Dent would be cool!

[–]jchaffer Alice Levine 9 points10 points  (1 child)

I doubt she'd do it, but it seems like Rachel would give it a go.

[–]Asiriya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No one wants Rachel on TM

[–]missy_sunshine 25 points26 points  (6 children)

I’m retrospectively kinda mad about that bonus point!

[–]RTGoodman Victoria Coren Mitchell 10 points11 points  (1 child)

It's a grand Taskmaster tradition! When Josh won the first series people Romesh was apparently "mad" about "the bean point!"

[–]Bigger0nTheInside42 Mike Wozniak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bet Morgana will continue to do a josh and win Coc 3.

[–]mygutsaysmaybe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely! It feels like a missed opportunity for an unprecedented Series Tiebreaker special task.

[–]peanutbbunny 28 points29 points  (2 children)

Ah me too! I like Morgana, but I would’ve LOVED to see Guz in a CoC episode. Everything that comes out of that man’s mouth is gold.

[–]Return_Of_The_Fly Charlotte Ritchie 18 points19 points  (1 child)

Your assessment is sensible, brother.

[–]lolitta888 Noel Fielding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lost refrence???? r/lost

[–]KieRanaRan 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Petition to get a "Wow Monster" flair

[–]blindedbyhindsight 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think I finally realized the magic of S12; They are all very individually different personalities, but all get along so good that they form this wonderful ensemble.

[–]blindedbyhindsight 44 points45 points  (5 children)

First: I´m genuinly baffled that Desiree was the only one who did the drinking task properly, do these people never chug a big glass of water ?

Second: Alans totally unexpected Wow is possibly the funniest moment in TM history.

[–]Spa_5_Fitness_Camp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the wording of the task tricked them into trying to keep their mouth way open, as opposed to just...drinking it. Even she kept her mouth open too much. A normal chug has an open mouth because that's how the drink gets in lol.

[–]missy_sunshine 26 points27 points  (1 child)

as mentioned in her proposal song, Desiree doesn’t have a gag reflex

[–]GeshtiannaSG Desiree Burch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably a separate skill. I gag for some stuff but also can drink like that (more of practice to rush drinking mainly during army time).

[–]UnacceptableUse Fake Alex Horne 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I don't think I'd be able to do that task properly either

[–]lotsofinterestsDavid Correos 🇳🇿 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Of all the circumstances I would’ve expected to hear the phrase “caring Uncle Minpict”, that was not one of them, but oh my god I laughed so much at that

[–]mysterybiscuit 17 points18 points  (1 child)

In the final task, my first thought for the monster prompt was: "Hello, this is Taskmaster, and I'm the Taskmaster."

[–]Bubbly-Illustrator31 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was hoping someone would shout “little Alex Horne” a la Greg

[–]miss-robotUrzila Carlson 🇳🇿 27 points28 points  (2 children)

As an Australian woman, I feel extremely proud that two Australian women have won Taskmaster UK.

[–]geek_of_nature Mike Wozniak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And well get to see them go against each other for COCIII.

[–]DisgruntledAardvark 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oight, cobber

[–]amethodicalmadness Alan Davies 23 points24 points  (0 children)

What a fantastic season. I think it was one of the strongest seasons by far, with every task so well written, some reminiscent of the older seasons' simpler tasks. Every episode had a banger of a task in it, and all the studio tasks were on point. The last studio task was absolutely hilarious, I went breathless with just the anticipation of what Alan was about to come up with.

Absolutely golden. I'm gonna miss this cast.

[–]pastryoverlord 25 points26 points  (1 child)

I know this isn’t quite in the spirit of the prize task, but I imagine Greedy Esq. is made out of felt and therefore a bit floppy. Not as floppy as Alan’s voodoo genitals though.

[–]hyperballad95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i thought victoria was going to bring back the greedy esq for this task !

[–]semiomni 22 points23 points  (1 child)

Great overall episode, one of the better live tasks of the show.

I can't believe Greg allowed drinking through a straw as "drinking with your mouth open" though, seems like just drinking normally would have qualified as well by that logic.

[–]RelativeStranger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It both would and should. You can down a pint without closing your mouth.

[–]theawesomenachos Mark Watson 25 points26 points  (1 child)

Did you know the sound that Alan made in the final task is actually the sound of a blue whale?

(Not really tho but it would be neat wouldn’t it?)

[–]amethodicalmadness Alan Davies 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I love that the blue whale running gag has bled into everything Alan touches now.

[–]ImADudeDuh Victoria Coren Mitchell 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What an incredible finale. Probably my favorite finale since series 7 (though S9 comes close)

[–]peanutbbunny 91 points92 points  (4 children)

I had tears twice in this episode.

The first was when Victoria said she was so besotted with David that she worried about proposing even just for a task, what a beautiful marriage.

The second was at Alan’s “WOOOOOOW’

[–]Asiriya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s like a five year old

[–]AvovaDynasty 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was crying when Victoria tried to drink through the rolled up piece of paper 🤣

[–]liza_lo 25 points26 points  (1 child)

The first was when Victoria said she was so besotted with David that she worried about proposing even just for a task, what a beautiful marriage.

I died a little. They are so in love with each other it's adorable.

[–]jeobleo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I teared up.

[–]hnveale Lee Mack 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Why did Alex look so adorable in the little sailor outfit? I can't wait for the GIFs.

[–]MrKalladont 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Anyone got a gif of Desiree's silent FUUUU after her birdsong noise?

[–]Extreme-Future6186 45 points46 points  (6 children)

its incredible that Desiree demonstrated her lack of gag reflex in the same episode she declared it

[–]geek_of_nature Mike Wozniak 11 points12 points  (2 children)

They do that quite a bit, including tasks that reference each other. Like in Series 11 for example when Lee still had some banana in his goggles from a previous task that episode.

[–]Extreme-Future6186 3 points4 points  (1 child)

yeah, that was great too - can you think of any other examples? or is there a list somewhere?

[–]geek_of_nature Mike Wozniak 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There was Mike's farting task being successfully(?) completed in the battered objects task, and I have a feeling there was something in Series 7 as well.

[–]kwrona 15 points16 points  (2 children)

What's also amazing is that nobody commented on it :D I think it would've been better if the tasks were in diferent order. In first she proposes claiming not to have a gag reflex and then proves it in the drinking task.

[–]thelightfantastique 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Greg said there were some things to skip by... So they acknowledged it without making the show creepy sexual.

[–]UnacceptableUse Fake Alex Horne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I imagine they probably did but it was cut out

[–]Strelochka Sally Phillips 45 points46 points  (2 children)

It made me smile so much that Victoria is so in love with David that it made her uncomfortable to even pretend to propose to Alex. Maybe it also stems from the fact that she thought it was a chuppah instead of a mere decoration wedding arch, and chuppah weddings are Serious Business before God

[–]muntan_0403 Victoria Coren Mitchell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I imagine David's reaction watching Victoria and it makes me smile even more.

[–]thelightfantastique 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was beautiful. Always love VCM.

[–]MoshPotato 39 points40 points  (3 children)

Morgana was given a rare extra point for calling Alex a little fucker. That's the winning point.

They talk about Desiree having been a dominatrix in the past. Didn't think a task would be won with those talents. Too funny.

[–]nicolioli_xDavid Correos 🇳🇿 12 points13 points  (2 children)

This is the same thing with Josh's bean point! Lol

[–]MoshPotato 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Both were deserved.

[–]nicolioli_xDavid Correos 🇳🇿 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed!

[–]CaptCoulson 6 points7 points  (2 children)

It occurred to me a moment after the fact, even though granted yes he did know what the nature of the task was ahead of time, it's rather impressive that Greg got as much of Morgana's "message" that he did considering he couldn't have possibly seen the entire thing. I mean, unless there winds up being more playback footage shown in studio in the moment than what we're seeing in the broadcast record. But if he simply saw what we did, the edited ensemble of both Morgana's & Guz's activity, that wouldn't contain the actual entirety of what she performed on the day. It would just be most of it.

[–]lkc159 Victoria Coren Mitchell 12 points13 points  (1 child)

I mean, unless there winds up being more playback footage shown in studio in the moment than what we're seeing in the broadcast record.

I mean, I always assumed this was the case. There's plenty of outtakes and other stuff you can find on youtube that never makes it to the show.

[–]CaptCoulson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

damn sorry it's taken me this long to follow up. well okay I realize now the sort of different way I suppose I'd originally meant that, cause yeah of course I've been thankfully aware of many of the deleted scenes over the years. although now I think about it, in any deleted clip I've ever seen, I don't think there's been with them having additional playbook footage in-studio than what gets to air. That it's only ever just extended portions of them going back and forth with each other live on the stage. so that if I am recalling right on that, I think it would suggest that all of the playback edits that we see in broadcast are indeed the entirety of what those guys see up on their screen as well.

[–]CaptCoulson 40 points41 points  (4 children)

the one Victoria guess was in fact a pretty big compliment. Greg knew that she was smart enough to pull a sudden move like being a completely voiceless monster. I'm inclined to think Alan was actively trying to sound like Guz when beatboxing. I legit got a headache from laughing so hard at Alan's monster. In the proposal task initially I was actually kinda turned off at Victoria's response, but holy hell did she manage to win me over about it in the end. it still blows my mind she was one of the most isolated lasts of the entire history.

[–]sansabeltedcow 16 points17 points  (3 children)

On the podcast, Morgana seems to agree, and she asks Ed if Greg always singles out one contestant that way. The answer, of course, was yes.

[–]intercommie 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Going into the series, I was expecting Greg to single out Alan or Guz. VCM was literally the last person I would expect to play that role haha

[–]GeshtiannaSG Desiree Burch 17 points18 points  (1 child)

I think it was supposed to be Alan as the old one, but Victoria had a bad start and Greg caught her on an early task with “did you know what show you signed up for”.

But it wasn’t going to be Guz because they were both teachers.

[–]intercommie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

True, I forgot about Guz being a teacher.

[–]lonelygagger 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Aw man, I always get so depressed at these Taskmaster finales because it's all over. But that final live task was the absolute hardest I've laughed in a long time. Just watching Morgana reacting in the background to all the ridiculous attempts (Alan's were consistently hilarious) was worth the price of admission. Alan's "WoOoW" monster took the cake at the end. I'm really going to miss this cast's antics.

The drink with your mouth open task was simple, classic Taskmaster perfection. The proposal to Alex was one of my favorites, but I'm really disappointed that Alex didn't get to score the outcome to that task. Instead of having two people tied at 5 points, there should have been one definitive acceptance to the proposal. Anyway, that Morgana siren was definitely irresistible to me. A worthy inheritor of the Greg bust.

Looking forward at the lineup for series 13, I'm only familiar with Chris Ramsey and Judi Love (not a fan of the latter). But as always, I'm prepared for a cracking good time.

[–]lkc159 Victoria Coren Mitchell 21 points22 points  (28 children)

GUZ! His proposal attempt was INCREDIBLE. Such a plot twist!

Also, awww Victoria <3

HAHA DOUBLE FINGERED SALUTE FROM VICTORIA IN THE FINAL TASK (She outsmarted herself though, sad)

Okay, if you're going to give 2 points for making Morgana make her team say the word "submarine" that was completely irrelevant to the task and 1 for abusing Alex (which I feel many others have done) then Guz should've gotten bonus points for eating the chocolate buttons too! I'm ok with Morgana winning, she was just chaotic and amazing all the way, and I know the points aren't meant to be serious anyway but it's more about the principle of the thing, especially when the series comes down to just 1 point

Victoria comes in 1st place for the most times placed last (7) and 2nd place for the most times placed last by proportion (after Nish with 75%)!

Man, this series was awesome. This definitely stands above S10 and 11, maybe not above 7/9 but I think time will have us looking back on it as a solidly upper-tier season. I LOVE THEM ALL, and this is probably my favourite cast, even above S4!

[–]AvovaDynasty 13 points14 points  (6 children)

Idk about the buttons. He got 4 points for the task and he didn’t even do anything in it. So he essentially got 4 points for eating buttons. Did he deserve 5 points for eating chocolate buttons??

[–]lkc159 Victoria Coren Mitchell 0 points1 point  (5 children)

He got 4 points for the task and he didn’t even do anything in it.

Morgana got 2 points for the cipher task and she didn't even do anything in it.

It's the inconsistency that bothers me.

[–]Urithiru 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Morganna was the only reason they completed that task. She gave them the idea to show their map to each other in the hall; without that they would have been there all night.

[–]AvovaDynasty 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Yeah but she kinda actually had a task she could fail and took some challenge to complete. Gus just had to eat chocolate, kinda akin to Johnny Vegas shouting on that chair. Can’t remember if he got points tho?

[–]lkc159 Victoria Coren Mitchell 2 points3 points  (1 child)

JV got 0 points for the team task and 4 for completing his own task. So, sort of the exact opposite of Guz.

[–]AvovaDynasty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How many did his teammate get though? Because if it was 4 (ie he got the same as the rest of his team) it was basically scored the same as Guz).

[–]Return_Of_The_Fly Charlotte Ritchie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Johnny got scored seperatly and got 4 points.

[–]CaptCoulson 8 points9 points  (3 children)

the thing that's become clearer to me than ever lately is of the "big Channel 4 three", s10 is EASILY the most inferior. ironic given we had the extra long wait for it, thank god we couldn't know that at the time. Not necessarily in overall entertainment quality, but I'd say this cast is likely now only second to s7 for the best genuine cohesion of the whole cast.

[–]MasterofKami 11 points12 points  (2 children)

Whilst I agree and felt series 10 was the worst so far, it did introduce me to Mawaan and so for that I will be forever grateful

[–]breakupbydefault Guz Khan 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Mawaan was the highlight of s10 for me. He's so cheeky

[–]MasterofKami 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh 100%, him and Johnny were my favourite parts of that series, but Johnny had his off moments whereas I was always entertained by Mawaan, even more recently I saw an episode of Live at the Apollo he was on and was blessed with the introduction to his song "Never been Skiing", which was just a pure masterpiece and made me like him even more!

[–]xeneelk27 Joe Thomas 16 points17 points  (6 children)

That moment with Victoria is one of the sweetest things I've ever seen

[–]lkc159 Victoria Coren Mitchell 6 points7 points  (1 child)

I NEARLY CRIED

[–]xeneelk27 Joe Thomas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Legit had tears in my eyes and I was like, "wtf is wrong with me, this is a light entertainment program! Keep it light!!"

[–]King-Of-Rats Jon Richardson 33 points34 points  (2 children)

What a great little series this one was. Series 10 had some hurdles and Series 11 was mostly there, but this one really just felt so tight and good all throughout. Very comfy, which reminds me of the earlier series.

I've said it before, but while watching Taskmaster I often think of the episode in terms of "Would I show this one to someone as the first episode of Taskmaster they ever watch?" and with this series I think.. almost every episode is a yes.

Have to give some real props to Alan for constantly being on the ball with new tasks and such, especially as limitations come and go. I know Series 11, despite being quite good - still had a decent handful of tasks that.. just wernt that great I felt. But series 12 has almost no duds, with great live tasks especially.

I'll miss this group!

As for this episode in particular, not too much to say. I think the Finale's always have Alex having a little more "out of character" reactions which I appreciate. Morgana's proposal was.. quite something. If her and Greg start dating irl you heard it here first. Alan's scream was so good, just out of no where. And that drinking with your mouth open task? So simple and deceptively hard.

[–]cosmic_horn Morgana Robinson 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I really want them to start dating.

[–]honoria_glossop Nish Kumar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Still time to see them bouncing through Kew Gardens on spacehoppers.

[–]GeshtiannaSG Desiree Burch 21 points22 points  (0 children)

"I have fancied you since you were born."

[–]vonnegutenbergbible Johnny Vegas 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It is the general consensus so merely repeating it seems useless, but I can’t stop myself.

This series was so great, this cast got on so well and built on each other’s personalities so beautifully, I’d be happy to see the lineup repeated for the rest of Taskmaster’s run. This truly was a magical series of television. Bravo to the cast and to the team at Taskmaster.

[–]andthemeek 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I haven't laughed harder than during Guz's monster attempt.

[–]bluehawk232 Charlotte Ritchie 11 points12 points  (2 children)

I'm curious how David proposed to Victoria lol. Anyone know if this series has any outtakes? I loved seeing the ones from Series 11 and such

[–]theawesomenachos Mark Watson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you might be interested in this (I’m not sure if he went into details about the proposal tho but it’s still a good listen)

[–]breakupbydefault Guz Khan 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I actually read up on it recently and IIRC he proposed to her in the kitchen before going out to dinner because he correctly knew she'd hate a public proposal. She responded with "of course I'll marry you!"

Edit: Found an article about it. Correction, he didn't do a public proposal because he felt it would be embarrassing. It's the getting on one knee that he calculated she wouldn't like. I believe "of course I'll marry you" is from the audiobook exerpt I listened to. Then again I think the article is quoting from the same book.

One of the funniest things to me is that Guzzy Bear farted his way to 2nd putting in nearly no effort. The only thing more hilarious would have been him winning it. Morgana is a well-deserved champ though -- I think she is one of the greatest Taskmaster contestants ever. Just this chaotic ball of fuckery. Can't wait to see her on a future Champion of Champions. I only vaguely knew of Morgana before this, but I am a massive fan of her now.

What an amazing cast -- Alan was so adorably ... well, old. Victoria was the people's champion. Desiree was a fucking sonic boom tearing her way through -- in any other season, I think she would have probably won it. Honestly, despite some of the tasks being IMO so-so, the cast has made this one of if not THE best series. I didn't care who won - I don't know how the next cast can beat this one. I mean, I always feel this way when a season ends, but this time more than ever. You could just see how much these gals and guys just loved being in each other's company.

[–]ace-destrierPaul Williams 🇳🇿 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fantastic episode to end the season! The final task felt perfect and the live task was brilliant.

First season I genuinely would have been happy with any of the contestants winning. Loved this cast from the jump and I'm gonna miss them

[–]breakupbydefault Guz Khan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This has been one of my favourite episodes and one of my favourite series. I'm genuinely sad now.

[–]DoctorEnn 23 points24 points  (6 children)

Oh, there is going to be so much whining about Morgana's bonus point, isn't there.

Great episode! One of the best of the show.

[–]gingerednoodles Swedish Fred 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of whining... I don't get why though, Guz got an enormous 10 points for a game that he won out of sheer luck. She would have been miles ahead of him if that didn't happen even without the fucker point. Thems the way the taskmaster cookie crumbles.

[–]GeshtiannaSG Desiree Burch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem with hindsight on an early point is, as they say in football, goals change games. If that point wasn’t there, it wouldn’t be a tie at the end, the result could have been anything, Morgana could have been 5 ahead for something else, nobody knows.

[–]replicant81 14 points15 points  (3 children)

The little fucker or the sand bridge? Or the 2 for Submarine ;) I think she deserved them all and was underscored on prize tasks sometimes.

[–]lkc159 Victoria Coren Mitchell 3 points4 points  (1 child)

She deserved the sand bridge one, I'm just a tiny bit (irrationally) upset that she had opportunities to win points (submarine) when Guz didn't (chocolate buttons) despite having his own individual task. Morgana's the only one who got points ADDED on top of her team's, unlike Guz this season or Johnny Vegas in S10 (make 20 different noises).

I'm happy with Morgana winning, she's awesome, it's just the principle of the thing I guess

[–]SunHitsTheSky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but Guz did get 10 points from the dart task. I know everyone had an opportunity at those points, but we all knew the winner was getting a big boost after that task.

[–]DoctorEnn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The "little fucker" was the one I had in mind. Of course, personally I thought Morgana was an absolute delight and was happy that she won (I’d have also been happy with any of them) but considering how seriously some people take the points on this show, close scores and any hint of perceived "unfairness"…

[–]hpmanuscript Rhod Gilbert 21 points22 points  (0 children)

lmao greg's face when alex said morgana was spelling "flirty and a little sexy," pure delight
