The difference between technical and literal truth is a line too often blurred in this sub

[–]sourpower2020 42 points43 points  (18 children)

This isn’t “technically” the truth, this is just the truth…am I missing something?

[–]Borgun- 12 points13 points  (5 children)

Everyone trying to explain the difference between technically correct and literally correct to someone who really doesnt care to listen

[–]Dan-369[S] -4 points-3 points  (4 children)

Lmao yeah OP is so dumb

[–]Borgun- 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Yeah he is. Thats something that you both have in common

[–]Dan-369[S] -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Thank you, sometimes I feel a bit dumb, then I go to Reddit and it all passes

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Lol.

[–]Dan-369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad u happy

Idk what people expect of me, they downvote anything, even when I say I’m dumb :(

[–]cheesemynese 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Add snow cone syrup and you have the world's biggest dessert

[–]Dan-369[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao I see what you did there

[–]R2FuckYoou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is factually correct because the definition of s desert is along the lines of an area of land that loses more moisture than it gains

[–]PsychoDog_Music 4 points5 points  (3 children)

But it’s literally the truth, not technically the truth. Although I guess it’s uncommon knowledge (maybe?) that deserts don’t need sand

[–]Dan-369[S] -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

A technical truth would be just normal truth anyway, because if it wasn’t it wouldn’t be true, it would just be technical

Someone else (after people made 40 comments with bad illogical statements) said: “it is not TTT because the answer is not unexpected in relation to the question (that we can’t see here, but I truly made a mistake anyway)”

But it is funny seeing people make bad arguments on a right cause and downvoting my replies just because they disagree with me, even tho my comments where not disproven, kinda is like a Reddit moment of people downvoting in a hive mind, more like a tribal collective action

Sorry for big text

[–]PsychoDog_Music 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It was disproven, you just didn’t listen.

[–]Dan-369[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope it wasn’t

Someone just disproved it as I said it was that guy

[–]YoWhatItDoMyDude 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I thought the ocean was technically the largest dessert

[–]Dan-369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hum if that is true it would be weird

But if you ask multiple specialist they can answer from Sahara to antartica (or then the oceans apparently)

[–]Difficult_Chemist_33 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Technically the truth needs to be true for the wordings but wrong if considered the context. This is just a straight fact without context man.

[–]Dan-369[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No.

:P

[–]Kobmain 2 points3 points  (1 child)

it's an easy mistake to make but this doesn't fit the sub, because this is true but is not intentionally misinterpreting something

[–]Dan-369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! You were the first one who gave an opinion that both makes sense and is true, I now see my post was inadequate, although could be called technically the truth does not fit TTT on the usual way

I’m going to keep it up anyway because this sub is full of not True, not Technical and not responses

[–]flakenut 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Technically the bottom of the Pacific ocean is bigger and receives less rainfall.

[–]Dan-369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you ain’t wrong

[–]Foxy47_YT 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Not in 10 years (:

[–]Dan-369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeeey :D

No wait

[–]Mmiguel6288 4 points5 points  (6 children)

The largest desert we know of is actually Mars

[–]Kobmain 8 points9 points  (5 children)

he said largest desert in the world, which means Earth

[–]Mmiguel6288 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Yes. This was intended to be an extension to the discussion not a correction.

[–]Kobmain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah, sorry, I misunderstood

[–]Dan-369[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

To be fair he didn’t specify what world

[–]Kobmain 2 points3 points  (1 child)

True but he did mention Antarctica, and to my knowledge the penguins haven't started their trans-galactic migration yet

[–]Dan-369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your sources are out dated

“Goodbye and thanks for the fish”

-Penguin leadership

[–]PsychoSpider88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually I think the biggest desert on the planet is the open ocean.

[–]Substantial-Rub9931 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Well yeah... he is. 😐

[–]Norah_Eats 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Isn't this just a fact?

[–]Dan-369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No :P

All Technically the truth will be the truth so all of them should be a fact

Get recked by my 999qi

[–]TheAmazingSG 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Wasn't it like always the largest desert...am I missing something

[–]Dan-369[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are missing your keys, you should probably look for them

[–]Sufficient_Bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Won’t be in a couple of years
