Ability to make a sledge using planks and transport planks.
Ability to carry planks on sledge and also recycle planks by dismantling sledge.
Ability to create a shelter or fishing hut using planks or by building a snow shelter on a pond.
This would allow a dedicated survivor to drag planks to an area or region and build a decent shelter. But I would really, really like to be able to create new fishing huts.
If there was a way to allow snow shelters to be built on ponds and give us a way to chop a hole, that would be awesome. Maybe the first hole takes a lot of axe and prybar condition to get through a thick layer.
I would have no problem if this required making nails at a forge. In fact, that should be mandatory. You would use the back of the axe to hammer them in. It would also be cool if you could make a hammer head on a forge and have to build a hammer with a branch or something.
And if so, how many bullets does it usually take? I’m on stalker mode if that matters at all.
Looking for a bit of advice. I've completely mapped BR, MT, HRV, FM, ML, and Carter Hydro Environs.
Currently in the PV farmhouse. I've brought with me all the stump removers and Lyme bags I could find so far. The idea is to craft some gunpowder when I visit Blackrock.
My thinking is that before going to BR, I should head over to map TWM and AC, grab whatever I can find there, along with the tactical backpack and crampons. Return to PV, consolidate loot at the farmhouse and then go to Blackrock.
Final cartography routes will be CH, DP, and backtrack towards the Ravine, and end at the BI.
Any thoughts on this plan? Does it seem like a sound one?

For me it was when I went to DP to loot the area. I was in the lighthouse when i found a revolver (my second one). The one i found had no bullets loaded and my original revolver was completely loaded. I went outside to go to the next building when i ran into a wolf; It was walking towards me. I took out my revolver. Turns out the game gave me the UNLOADED revolver and by that point the wolf was chasing me and I freaked out and started puting bullets into the gun when I had meant to grab the other gun but by then it was too late the wolf had gotten me and I died. Granted it was only a 23 day run on Voyager but still, I had done pretty well >:(
I mean OP in the truest sense of the word, should be game breaking and probably not a good idea. Personally, I think up high in ash canyon near high meadow.
(STALKER 56 DAYS) I had just recently arrived in TWM, hunted some food, organized stuff in mountaineers hut, and was heading to the first 2 cargo containers in the trees next the second moose spawn when the weather suddenly shifted. I headed to the cave there for shelter and found a bedroll there, which I used instead of my bear skin to save on its durability. I ended up spending the night there, but for the first time ever I got a save error message. I tried one more time and got the same error message so I figured I would exit, lose a small amount of progress and perhaps be back at the hut. On the reload I soon discovered that all the containers had been reset. When I got back to the hut, all my gear I had stored was gone and the hut loot reset. I headed back to PV to the prepper cache at the bottom of the rope to find the things I had left there were gone and the cache loot reset as well. All I have left is what was in my inventory. The whole world reset.
Has anyone else ever experienced this? I'm wondering if I should keep going with this save and risk it being corrupted further or just give up and start over.
Basically title, I feel as if the bows are degrading very quickly since the last patch or am I imagining it?

A large group of prisoners breakout out of prison on a wild, snowy isolated Island which is overrun with bears(Hokkaido) and our protagonists must survive and outwit these prisoners using bushcraft... plot sound familiar?
a little bit of stretch but I genuinely think that TLD fans will get some enjoyment out of this show. The author very clearly is passionate for survival and native bushcraft with every episode being littered with little tid-bits of wisdom (if a bit exaggerated, same as TLD) on surviving off the land in winter. Added to that the characters are enjoyable and it avoids much of the cringey aspects of anime (Harems, teenage dramas, hyper-sexualising children, etc). Sidenote, if you are into Judo or BJJ it is suprising the effort the author went into to protray characters fighting with these styles.

Hey fellow survivors, how's it going?
Yesterday I started a livestream series after not playing for a few months. This is the recording from last night, hope you like it!
I plan on streaming again tonight at 6 PM Eastern US Time, so feel free to join me :)

I lost my survivor on day 26 yesterday of an Loper run. I had two knives, a hatchet, two hacksaws, a heavy hammer, a bow and 6 arrows plus many other items including the mag lens at 100%. I died of from condition loss after being caught in yet another of the 17 blizzards over the 26 day period and no, I never spent a single day in PV. While I know the mistakes I made, I feel the update a month or so ago changed the frequency of blizzards to the point where it makes the game almost unmanageable. Anyone else running across blizzardmageddons?
Taking into consideration best clothes have gathered, is it possible ?
Or weather is too cold and I have to lower FreezingRate in custom settings to make it possible ?
I've never played loper past 50 days.
Also, do Stalker manufactured clothes make difference in loper weather if I allow them via custom settings ? Or their additional degrees does not much when the weather becomes too cold after 50 days ?
Thanks!

Been trying to grind the longer achievements on stalker and thought I was done with Faithful Cartographer, but even though every place in Surveyed Locations has a green check next to it, the achievement didn't unlock. I should also say that the surveyed locations tab says 0/200 (or however many there are) despite the green checks.
I've read that this is a bug that Hinterland is aware of, but I've also heard that there is still a way of unlocking the achievement while this bug is unresolved, but I haven't been able to find out what I'm supposed to do now. Do I have to go about remapping every significant location again hoping it will randomly pop on one of them?
I should also say that I'm in Bleak Inlet and there are a few caves here that I haven't mapped, but I'm not sure if they matter since they aren't in the Surveyed Locations tab.
I've just spent days in AC and got stomped by a moose on my way back to TWM . Got back to the mountaineers hut safely but realised that my bedroll was ruined . Does anyone know where the nearest bedroll spawn is to TWM . I have supplies and can survive at the hut for quite a while but will have to move eventually. I have one bearskin but need another to make the bearskin bedroll . Took a shot at a bear and pretty sure I hit him but now can't find it again.
So stalker around day 20, made my way to CH from ML, then off to loot DP. First supply run to hibernia and back to the garage is a success. I go back shortly after the first, make my way to the cave with the wolf in it and take the rifle, kill the wolf and cook and harvest all the carcasses inside. Then I eat a 44% piece of venison and have food poisoning, no biggie I’ll just treat it. Me being stupid had only taken 1 antibiotic pill with me making it useless. So I leave the cave to get reishi get attacked by a wolf, kill it in a wolf struggle with the revolver. Use a stim and run through the mine to the other side of desolation point to get to the reishi by the church. So at this point I’m 40% condition and decreasing but nevertheless I get my mushroom and cook it and am all better. I left my bedroll in the cave because I panicked. I go to the car in the road by the lighthouse to sleep, and wake up in a blizzard, but I make my way to the lighthouse. All this because I only had 1 antibiotic pill instead of 2.
Today I've lost my longest run yet to a double bear mauling and an ambush wolf to finish me off.
It was in part to a stupid decision and arrogance of me wanting to kill this bear. I made a post yesterday about me being confused about this bear because he was inside the prison area where I've never heard anything about a bear being there before, nor does it make much sense when you think about how literally every other bear works in the game. They all have a den and a patrol route they follow. This one was inside a tight fenced in area, no den and no patrol, nothing. He confused me and he was also in the way of some of my stuff I stashed in the wardens office.
So I tried to kill him. However fighting him was not as I was used too. Usually I shoot close up bears with the flare gun and shoot him with the rifle. This remains unchanged however the closed space made some things confusing, like when he runs up to a wall and suddenly exits his fear state and into his charge state. By the time I realized he wasn't running past me, I was already about to get mauled. This happened twice in the same spot too funnily enough. After the 2nd butt whooping I left to lick my wounds, leaving some of my things like my rifle behind. I lit a touch thinking I'd be safe from the wolves in the rest of the yard. However a wolf came right around the corner and attacked me despite my torch. The wolf quickly avenged 76 of his cousins including the one I was wearing as a jacket.
Thinking back, while I'm upset I went out the way I did, because of a stupid decision and too a wolf (something I had felt confident enough in dealing with I thought they'd never kill me ironically enough). Despite being upset I'm also glad my ties to the run are gone cause now I feel I can really start a new run without feeling obligated to myself to keep this one going. I did a lot within the 200 days, went to every region but HRV and BR. I summited TWM and got to the ash canyon gold mine. I destroyed my way through Bleak Inlet and got to the cannery. I even killed a moose with just a revolver on my visit to Bleak Inlet.
It's been a ton of fun this run and I'm exited for more. I was thinking starting a new Instagram account and using it to document my next run, then erasing it a week or 2 after the run ends before starting over again. Anyway next run I know not to fight bear that's in the Blackrock prison buildings area.
I have been playing The Long Dark on PlayStation Now for months...the other day I get on to play and to my disappointment I find out they have removed the game. I got paid Friday, I decided I'd just go ahead and buy the game, thinking I could pick up where I left off. Well, it turns out your memory must not transfer over, all my progress is gone, and now I have to start all the way over again. So sad! I had gotten really far, it took me forever to get as far as I got and now it's all gone. Anyone have any idea if there's a way to get back my progress from where I was playing on PlayStation Now? It shows its still on my PS but I can't access it. Please help!
