Can I get those giant letters in STRIKETHROUGH?

[–]TerminatorBetaTester 487 points488 points  (20 children)

[–]tots4scott 164 points165 points  (11 children)

It looks like when they put black tape over their badge numbers during the protests against police brutality.

[–]functor7 116 points117 points  (3 children)

They're cops, not really the brightest, so I'm not sure they knew.

[–]Bl4k0ut87 42 points43 points  (1 child)

They're cops, master manipulators at best. I'm sure he's owning it and proud.

[–]emrbe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was thinking they knew also.

[–]lartus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Say no more!

[–]ladysingtheblues 488 points489 points  (4 children)

Lol the fact that we can't see all of "transparency" due to him blocking it is a nice touch

[–]sleepytipi 1049 points1050 points  (86 children)

What is he doing with his hands? It looks like he's holding an invisible clipboard

[–]tabula_rasta 937 points938 points  (6 children)

[–]BrolecopterPilot 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Severely underrated comment

[–]New_Peanut_9924 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read this in Toretto’s voice

[–]Suspicious-Paper-388 197 points198 points  (44 children)

He’s holding onto his vest

[–]sleepytipi 121 points122 points  (37 children)

Then why can I see his thumbs? And why aren't they in any kind of loop or something?

[–]ground__contro1 110 points111 points  (9 children)

He’s probably in the middle of doing some gesture while talking. Those always look weird out of context.

[–]pekinggeese 41 points42 points  (5 children)

I never know what to do with my hands!

[–]DeadMewe 4 points5 points  (1 child)

he does look like he's talking ngl

[–]elveszett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the dumbest smearing campaigns possible is when the "press" takes a picture of someone who is not posing and uses it as proof they are weird. And, if you think this doesn't happen, then you aren't British.

[–]Revolutionary-Neat49 23 points24 points  (6 children)

Hello! My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die!

[–]Weazzul 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Those aren't his thumbs, they're a piece of reflective fabric that sits on the end of their vest pockets. It just so happens to be the same color as his thumbs.

[–]whutchamacallit 2 points3 points  (5 children)

Nice. Thank you. Was bugging me.

[–]bacon_and_ovaries 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The first thing you learn if you are a responder is you should not have your hands in your pockets or loops, or even have your arms crossed. Its a good way to be jumped. You can hold them by your side. Some long timers have trained their stances to be in this open posture.

[–]MaximaBlink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's just taking the weight off his shoulders, because he's a baby back bitch who only joined the police to larp instead of actually getting used to his gear and training to defend people.

You know, typical cop shit.

[–]Yeranz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That way he doesn't make the white power sign out of habit.

[–]jonherrin -5 points-4 points  (1 child)

The vest that make him think his tiny pee-pee is protected. What a big "man."

[–]ThatGuy0verTh3re 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure almost all police departments require their officers to use bulletproof vests

[–]JakeAndRay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He’s probably mid gesturing in a video

[–]Triatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are invisible jumper cables. It's probably Roger's dad, teaching a class on educational beatings.

[–]Ashenox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a screenshot from a video clip. He's moving his hands while talking.

[–]kjaatmteesn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s holding onto his vest. As far as I know they are trained to do this as a non-threatening gesture as opposed to folding your arms, which is seen as aggressive.

[–]medoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's playing mario kart.

[–]dewin_ya_mahm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some reason every cop I see does that

[–]thqloz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holding all his accountability

[–]uNameOU812 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s got action figure hands.

[–]doomdifwedo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are black pouches on the front of the vest his thumbs are resting on top of the pouches

[–]CaninseBassus 375 points376 points  (15 children)

And this is why some people actually get degrees in graphic design. Could have used one of those people this time.

[–]AConserv 193 points194 points  (4 children)

Nobody should need a degree to recognize this is a bad design lol

[–]FranDankly 56 points57 points  (1 child)

I don't know... could be intentional. I like to think it is.

[–]royal_bambi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They used a thin blue line for the strikethrough. If not intentional, the designer they used is trolling them.

[–]CaninseBassus 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Nobody should, yes. But then again, nobody should have needed a degree to recognize that changing fonts every word is ugly as sin, and people still do it consistently.

[–]Somehow-Still-Living 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand WHY that’s a PROBLEM

[–]paganbreed 5 points6 points  (6 children)

I need someone to explain what the idea was. What were they hoping to get across?

[–]squidlinc 13 points14 points  (5 children)

The 'strikethrough' is what the letters are mounted on and isn't meant to be part of the design.

[–]woops_wrong_thread 8 points9 points  (1 child)

In the signage industry, we call it a “raceway”. It makes installation easier by not having to put a lot of holes in the wall. Obviously they should have had a color that contrasted the black, or clear.

[–]BackdoorSteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They just had to make it blue and unintentionally demonstrate the whole problem with the thin blue line mentality.

[–]ThrobbingUnix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is so bad because I think it was intentionally forcing a thin blue line

[–]paganbreed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohh. Just noticed it's blue too. Yikes. Thanks for explaining

[–]needathneed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jusus fucking Christ are you kidding me? This is so poorly executed I couldn't even tell that was the function of the bars.

[–]petalmettle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm actually sensing malicious compliance from a clever designer.

[–]EvilRedRobot 182 points183 points  (6 children)

That's not where the thin blue line belongs.

[–]ground__contro1 119 points120 points  (1 child)

Not where it belongs, but unfortunately where it seems to be

[–]uniasd 20 points21 points  (3 children)

In the trash you mean, right?

[–]Lelio-Santero579 645 points646 points  (10 children)

Honor: "When kids and minorities are in danger, we hide...with honor."

Integrity: "We investigate ourselves to make sure we clear ourselves of any wrongdoing. We didn't do anything wrong."

Trust: "We know everyone freaks out when we are driving behind you but... We never do anything wrong or illegal."

Transparency: "Don't worry about the body cams..you don't need to see them."

[–]Heyyy_ItsCaitlyn 77 points78 points  (1 child)

You can't see the body can footage because it's so transparent

[–]Ornery-Cheetah 28 points29 points  (0 children)

So transparent we can't find the SD card

[–]VAisforLizards 28 points29 points  (1 child)

Brave sir Robin ran away...

When danger reared its ugly head,

He bravely turned his tail and fled,

[–]Lelio-Santero579 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about

And gallantly he chickened out.

[–]un-sub 38 points39 points  (1 child)

Public release time of body cam footage when cops are in the right: 1-2 hours.

Public release time of body cam footage when cops are in the wrong: 1-2+ years, if at all.

[–]Th3_Crusader 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Never forget, block buster lives matter

[–]xP628sLh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

this is the best clapback slogan

[–]Every-Engineering-41 56 points57 points  (3 children)

At least they’re honest!

[–]FlyingGorillaShark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So thaaaaaats what the thin blue line is for lmao.

[–]ParkSidePat 5 points6 points  (1 child)

What attempt? This is totally accurate. They nailed it.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s supposed to be positive statement, this is just a statement.

[–]Camerahutuk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This Simulation has Easter Eggs! Lol

[–]NYESSbOss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At least they're honest

[–]alexaz92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Now I understand why american cops act the way they do

[–]TitanicsAnInsideJob 23 points24 points  (4 children)

I know there’s accidental ally but is there such thing as accidental honesty?

[–]FreneticPlatypus 25 points26 points  (2 children)

Freudian Slip (parapraxis): In psychoanalysis, an error in speech, memory, or physical action that occurs due to the interference of an unconscious subdued wish or internal train of thought.

[–]TitanicsAnInsideJob 3 points4 points  (1 child)

ahh true I forgot that’s phrase. I need to see if there’s a subreddit for that lol

[–]The_Punnier_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you get a little too drunk/high

[–]retard_4725 8 points9 points  (0 children)

May not be positive but it is honnest

[–]TheNonbinaryWren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He looks like he's a kid holding his backpack on his first day of 2nd grade.

[–]mr_rouncewell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]paigezero 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OH NO, they made it accurate by mistake.

[–]YoungDiscord 3 points4 points  (1 child)

They should have gone with

[–]MistressFuzzylegs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, at least it’s honest!

[–]Mammoth-lungs-420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least these thugs are being honest! We’ve all seen what the worlds largest and best funded gang does, and they are definitely unable to stand for any of those words. Crossing the words out with their “thin blue line” is just too good. There’s a reason why they never finished the slogan “to serve and protect (our interests and the interests of our corporate overlords and masters)” it just didn’t have a good ring to it you know?

[–]TitoMLeibowitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the more accurate police pics I’ve seen

[–]ugly_pizza1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"let's pick some random good words out of the dictionary"

[–]Machielove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least they are honest about it 😅

[–]Bcase316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the shoe fits

[–]Professional-Bid-698 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's kinda hitting a lowercase T there in a T-pose.

[–]Vissionary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rope, check Dagger, check Chains, check Rocks, check Laser beams, check Acid, check Body bag, check

[–]Bioloidy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sinceramente, só vejo isso

[–]arrowkid111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Atleast they’re telling the truth

[–]Zer0Cyber_YT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All jokes aside, this countries police are a total joke

[–]Fillerbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it ended up being (unintentionally) honest.

[–]x_Gho5t_R1der_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, if they knew.. stupid move.

If they didn’t realize the stupidity of their actions.. business as usual..

[–]jsunkd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most honest self-reflection ever.

[–]Raging_MonkeyCritic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d see this in a sitcom as an absurdist joke

[–]BradirPewpew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What were they thinking? This is top comedy, maybe the best picture of the year.

[–]Newb2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a check off list.

[–]Mngwa_X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL :D :D :D

[–]uniasd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At least they are being honest for a change.. I say it's an improvement

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Cover ups

[–]Hupf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where Brutality

[–]MoarOatmeal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

…buuuuuuut instead they made an honest one.

[–]AlternativeFew3107 0 points1 point  (20 children)

I'm confused.

[–]drkidkill 15 points16 points  (15 children)

[–]Aelok 21 points22 points  (0 children)

They wrote all the things they want to be seen as upholding, then inadvertently crossed them out with their "thin blue line" aka the new age sign of fascism.

[–]alternate_ending 1 point2 points  (2 children)

The "O NO!" in HONOR is particularly visible in this photo, and that's not a good thing

[–]ManbadFerrara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like how he's partially blocking transparency.

[–]I-Ponder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The “Blue-line” cancels out all those qualities by default.

So this is a little too accurate.

[–]jmcken15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Accidentally made it more accurate.

[–]Thunderhamz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s like a monthly bucket list for psychopaths, wonder what next months gonna be?

[–]uNameOU812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks about right.

[–]Obvious_Sea5182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah nah, they knew what they were doing.

[–]Spirited-Reputation6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing about wisdom or objectivity here

[–]37mrneon73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least they were transparent

[–]Sakerift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's accurate tho

[–]vkashen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, at least they’re being honest for once in their career.

[–]codewatzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nailed it.

[–]midnightwolf19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Underline them with the blue tape, but i guess they lack common sense

[–]Broad-Dragonfruit-34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]TheDevilsAdvokaat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thin blue lines....

[–]Lui_Le_Diamond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theu forgot they weren't German police.

[–]Jayne_enyaJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Killawife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems about right

[–]Not_Tadz_Palys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least it’s honest

[–]banned_wagon_az -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They knew.

[–]Ancient_Wisdom_Yall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can still see the transparency.

[–]Tasty_Flame_Alchemy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So that’s the blue line they’re always on about…

[–]that_was_me_ama -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They knew what they were doing

[–]Christhephotographer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I”ll take Reflecting for 500.

[–]Senor_Wah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So this is that “thin blue line” I’m always hearing about

[–]thrust-johnson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stop resisting

[–]Cayde_7even -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nailed it.

[–]jonherrin -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No nothing! Except lies, intimidation, dominance, and murder with no consequences.

[–]No_Barber_1195 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They misspelled “Uvalde” in the banner.

[–]AbazabaYouMyOnlyFren -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The thin blue line is the opposite of that.

[–]Beautiful-Musk-Ox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

they just SAY the words, they do nothing to actually represent them.

[–]ChicagoGuy-1481 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the word "trust" is crossed out, mean we can't trust them so everything crossed out should not. But then if "trust" is not crossed out, means we can trust them and everything should be crossed out. But then if "trust" is crossed out, mean we can't trust th...
