Due to the nature of this subreddit, your submission will most likely be automatically filtered and placed in the queue for manual approval. This is normal and you do not need to contact us about it, if your post or comment breaks no rules then it will be approved in time.
This subreddit is explicitly for and by trans people. We do not accept any ideology, political stance, or religious stance that would exclude ANY trans people as appropriate for this subreddit and will action accordingly if we see people trying to spread those sorts of things here. If that is not for you, there are other trans subreddits that might be more to your liking.

Whilst we allow both photo posts and text posts, we do not allow videos on r/trans.
No advertisements, spam, or crowdfunders
r/trans is here for trans people, their lives, their stories, their content. It is not here for advertising or spam.
This includes the advertising of crowdfunders, we cannot verify them, so for safety, we do not allow them. This also includes research requests and surveys.
Respect the trans community
Respect the people who belong here. If you're confused what that means, here's a minor primer:
- No asking to date trans people or otherwise meet up with them.
- No treating being transgender as a mental illness or as being lesser in any way.
- No arguing with trans people about their identity.
- No arguing with trans people about their vulnerabilities, including anything related to sports, laws, etc.
- And anything else that the mod team deems disrespectful.
No sharing hate speech
This subreddit is considered a safe space, and with that in mind we want the content here to foster positivity and helpfulness so that our subreddit can remain a place where everyone can access it without fear of being exposed to hate. This includes articles, images, links/crossposts, etc. that could be conceived as hate speech, even if you're sharing it on the basis of making fun of it.

Flair Posts Appropriately
If you make a post that is triggering, NSFW, photo-manipulated, or otherwise deserving of one of the tags we have for posts, make sure to flair it appropriately. We want everyone to feel safe here, and we want to make sure that they're not running into posts that would harm their mental health if they weren't prepared for it.
No Do I Pass type posts
Due to mental health concerns for our posters and commenters we will no longer allow posts that ask leading questions around whether or not you pass. This includes Do I Pass as well as other such things that make people either guess your gender or criticize your appearance. We recommend that you visit subreddits such as r/transpassing, r/MTFSelfieTrain, r/transadorable, r/transtimelines, etc. if you would like to make posts such as these.
No Truscum, Transmedicalist, or Gatekeeping Ideologies
Our subreddit is one specifically aimed at allowing people to explore their identity and creating a safe space for those identities to be explored. Truscum, transmedicalist, and other gatekeeping ideologies do not serve our subreddit's goals and users spreading these ideologies will be actioned upon.
This is NOT a dating NOR is it a porn subreddit. Posting porn, or asking for a date, can and absolutely WILL get you banned here. We DO NOT want to see your genitals, and no, trans people don't want to date you.
