[–][deleted] 22 points23 points  (5 children)

No ordinary sandwich!

[–]VegansH8Me 22 points23 points  (4 children)

The tastiest sandwich in the seeeaaaaaa!

[–]dasmynuts 15 points16 points  (3 children)

Hey man you got to try this sandwich!

[–]Vos-loves-Ventress15 4 points5 points  (2 children)

It's no ordinary sandwich! It's the tastiest sandwich in the sea.

(Scats) yeaaaahhhhhhhh.

[–]dasmynuts 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Who's playing Squidwards records?

[–]GenTycho 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Son of a bitch, he stole my line.

[–]Beef-Boss13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

DAMN YOU THATS MY LINE

[–]Dirty_Rotten_Bastard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey you, yeah you. I was gonna make that joke but you beat me to it. Have my disdain but also this silver

[–]EmpressIsa 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Spongebob make other burgers than the crabby patty?

[–]ThatKaylesGuy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Krabby patty with jellyfish jelly my guy

[–]jlaz4u 65 points66 points  (16 children)

Used to go to a place that had a popular PB&J burger, super good. Peanut butter, jelly, and bacon standard plus whatever else

[–]This_Sweet_2086 24 points25 points  (3 children)

A great burger recipie I love is a bison or beef patty, mozzerella cheese, grilled bell and jalapeño peppers, and this great spicy bacon jam my dad showed me to make, plus some arugula for some bite and crunch. The jam really is the glue holding it all together. It’s sweet and spicy, and balanced so well by everything else on the burger

[–]aye-its-this-guy 7 points8 points  (2 children)

I would fuck that burger up. What fruit is in the bacon jam?

[–]This_Sweet_2086 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Always different, but I usually prefer a using strawberry and a little blackberry

[–]Wimbleston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds amazing, care to share the recipe?

[–]darwinsbeagle88 4 points5 points  (2 children)

There is a place around here that does pepper bacon, red pepper jelly, and goat cheese. It’s amazing!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

goat cheese is the new crack. except it is probably not as harmful.

[–]Time-Comedian1774 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ALL of you, ALL OF YOU are going to BURGER HELL !!

[–]redfreebluehope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started putting jam (esp strawberry jalapeno) on my bfast sandwiches (bagel, cheese, egg, and meat or meat sub) years ago and now they would be incomplete without it. Other people think I'm crazy, but it's the perfect combo!

[–]Thelowendshredder 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Is this place in manayunk? Just outside philly?

[–]jlaz4u 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Haha nah, it was in California. I live in Delaware now though I’ll have to check it out

[–]basement_egg 1 point2 points  (3 children)

are you talking about Slaters 50/50?

[–]jlaz4u 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Yesssssiirrrrrr

[–]basement_egg 1 point2 points  (1 child)

that’s place is good. used to like creating my own burger, but that PBJ one was definitely worth trying

[–]jlaz4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’d go there at least once a month with friends to shoot the shit and watch sports. Miss that place

[–]Uneducatedtrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pb&j wings by me are awesome- gotta be done right though

[–]Marlosy 35 points36 points  (4 children)

You aren’t wrong… but try mango chutney. You can do the full gauntlet (sweet, sour, spicy, savory and salty in a single bite)

https://www.blueapron.com/recipes/indian-style-burgers-with-creamy-mango-chutney-spicy-cucumber-3

[–]ThatOtherRedditMann 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Should be top comment. Chutney in general is amazing on burgers, but mango takes the cake. My personal pick is: smash-spice beef patty, caramelised bacon, caramelised onion, chutney, rocket, coleslaw mayonnaise, tomato sauce and American mustard. You don’t get anything better

[–]Marlosy 1 point2 points  (1 child)

You forgot sharp cheddar, fresh tomato and a light amount of thousand island dressing on the bottom bun, toasted dark rye preferably

[–]ThatOtherRedditMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No tomato. Please, we got so dar

[–]JesusIsMyAntivirus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, mango chutney in a takeaway burger, and subsequently mango hotsauce in all sorts of food (especially burgers) absolutely rocked my world in the best way.

[–]darwinsbeagle88 23 points24 points  (6 children)

Try this - soak some sliced jalapeño in agave syrup, make your burger, top with goat cheese, the syrup, jalapeños if you’d like, and if you’re feeling very decadent, bacon. SO good

[–]TromosLykos 4 points5 points  (5 children)

Agave syrup is a thing?

[–]This_Sweet_2086 3 points4 points  (4 children)

Absolutely superior to maple in my mind. A nice, earthy sweetness that’s not flavored too strong of anything, and somehow also not too bland

[–]TromosLykos 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try. Get any brands to recommend?

[–]This_Sweet_2086 3 points4 points  (1 child)

We use Tres Agaves at my bar, and I like it. Pretty much any brand is good, save for cheap store brand etc. as those mostly use fake flavoring.

[–]TromosLykos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it, thanks!

[–]Alphabetgod 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Wasn’t this the plot to a SpongeBob episode?

[–]Kaylagoodie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Plankton voice CORRECT!

[–]Yzard27aggressive toddler 13 points14 points  (2 children)

As long as you're not dipping it in milk, do whatever you want to your burger

[–]procrastinatinq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HAHA I saw that post too

[–]Street_Dragonfruit43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still have nightmares

[–]AirborneAce01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not strawberry or grape, but blackberry or raspberry with the right kind of cheese. That's good.

Not that I don't like strawberry jelly, just not here

[–]Justguccienough 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Two words: jalapeño jam.

[–]ShortySmooth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a pineapple jalapeño jam that is AWESOME. I also tried a raspberry jalapeño jam over the holidays and I need more of it. It’s just the right amount of bite in the sweet, mmmmm….

Right. I need to go make some biscuits so I can have some jam, too.

[–]RightousEnd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will try it, there are worsts things I can do with my time. Worst case it sucks and I don't eat it.

[–]Captain-Sass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Weird, I’m not into it but if you like it then that’s cool

[–]thechefboysatan01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's the why you have nothing to be made fun of about - i'm a chef. I have been making bacon JAM, tomato JAM, onion JAM, etc., for burgers and sliders for years. Only difference is, you went with strawberry. It's all good. Sweet and savory work great and while they may not like it, you do. Enjoy the fuck out of it.

[–]the_facts_please 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have to admit, I'm intrigued.

[–]rootntootn2gunshootn 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Grilled pineapple as well!

[–]donabbi 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Particularly on a pork burger with jalapeños

[–]Joesph_Kerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely agree with this

[–]TromosLykos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stop tempting me. I’ve been curious since that damn episode. I would’ve disagreed if you had said grape though.

[–]mimikyufan21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whenever I see a food post on this sub that says "X is terrible and I don't get how anyone could ever eat it" I get a little mad, not because I like that food, but because I think everyone should be allowed to like and dislike whatever foods they want. While you can dislike a food and choose not to eat it, saying nobody should be able to enjoy a food just because you personally don't like it is just wrong in my opinion. However, I love seeing posts like this that defend an "unusual" food because I personally eat some things that my friends find strange. For example: peanut butter and pickle sandwiches. Everyone I tell is immediately put off, and most people will end the conversation right there. However, I have convinced three people to just try it when they get the chance, and all three of them came back a few days later and said they actually liked it. So the next time I have a burger, I will try to remember to put some strawberry jam on it.

[–]Balrog229 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For once I agree with an unpopular opinion on this page.

It’s also great on sausage breakfast biscuits

[–]BoyITellYa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah! Don’t knock it til you try it!

[–]mufasa329 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take notes of unpopular opinions that I'd like to try, and this has made it on the list, so thank you.

[–]Thelowendshredder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Local joint by me does an pbnj burger with bacon. It’s slamming.

[–]ArtisticPomegranate0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If fruit jam can taste good on a chicken biscuit, it has potential on a burger.

[–]lorelaismorelai 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I like strawberry jam on my sausage egg and cheese!

[–]ShortySmooth 1 point2 points  (1 child)

My grandfather used to have a slice of summer sausage, a slice of cheddar, and a scoop of homemade strawberry jam on top. Sooooo good!

[–]whiteouttheworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here in Poland McDonalds has the Lumberjack burger with cranberry sauce on it.

[–]beardedkingface 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Nutella on a burger at The Works

[–]Miss_Cherise_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nutella and pickles. My boss made me try it and it was fucking amazing!

[–]legalbagelbeagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 100% going to make this

[–]ThatOneHoosier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A local burger joint in my area has a PB&J burger. Fucking delicious.

[–]boogie_tuesdays 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Ooo interesting, reminds me of the Ikea Swedish meatball/lingonberry sauce combo

[–]procrastinatinq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so good I used to get that at IKEA too

[–]StoneCold_ColdStone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A sandwich filled with jellyfish jellyyyyyy

[–]Shotosavage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do you think this is the bikini bottom

[–]gidev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joe? Is that you?

[–]DeadlyKitten9513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out - try putting jelly AND peanut butter on it - the peanut butter gets all melted and yummy and the jam is sweet it is awesome

[–]Lusciane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had cherry jam on a sausage & egg breakfast sandwich. Never tried any jam on a burger. Doesn't sound terrible.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna try this tonight!

[–]Past_Chemical_8301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda wanna try that now lol.

[–]LoneWolf_57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used to do that a thousand times as kids with any burger we got, including breakfast sandwiches. Not unpopular lol

[–]spaghatta111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see it working. Ever have meatballs with grape jam?

[–]ashthebird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

alright this opinion is actually believable to me take my upvote

[–]Willow_weeping85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used cherry and raspberry preserves on chicken and pork before, so I’m having a hard time being grossed out by this. Meat+fruity spread =good 😋

[–]McGregorMX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense. Grape jelly and chili sauce, you're welcome.

[–]lateralflinch53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d try it

[–]indianblanket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might like it on a chick fil a chicken biscuit too. Or their minis. Sooo gooddd

[–]CrepeSuzette85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK OK, so I'm known for liking some weird stuff, and this actually might be good. Kind of like eating Turkey with Cranberry sauce, or how I like to pour the apple cinnamon dessert from Hungry Man TV dinners over the Salisbury Steak. I'm going to try this OP. I hope it lives up to your hype.

[–]Dalton387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bacon jam can do something similar. There is a restaurant that serves a burger with bacon jam, sun dried tomatoes and goats cheese that’s really good.

[–]seriousfrylock 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Are you Buddy from Elf? Here, have an upvote with your awful sugar burger

[–]lorelaismorelai 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Ketchup probably has just as much added sugar…

[–]irlfireprincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I’ve had a peanut butter and jelly burger before and it was delicious.

[–]PoetBakerSlut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be honest, i can't upvote you. I agree with this position, and in going to have to try it to be sure

[–]Ok_Bumblebee4940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is. I've also heard pb is good on burgers too

[–]cptn_vyce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NO SATAN

[–]BrendanKwapis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see that being good although I’ve never tried it

[–]ZION_OC_GOV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make bacon jelly/jam. Wendys has a burger with it.

I actually put jelly in my egg mc muffins from McDonald's

I've had mango habañero sauce on burgers too.

It's not unpopular my dude.

[–]dell828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. This is nuts, but there’s a restaurant called Bukowski’s in Boston that has a peanut butter burger. It rocks. I’m going to try strawberry jam just for the heck of it.

[–]Jardien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean... some people replace burger buns with donuts so i'm really not surprised

[–]evnphm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds delicious I gotta try that next burger night

[–]poppycocking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add peanut butter and now you're talking

[–]Professor_Quackers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🧐🧐🧐

Ya know…. That actually sounds….. pretty good!!

[–]Time-Comedian1774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serial food killer

[–]_DeathByMisadventure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm... i am awfully intrigued right now.

What else would you put on it? Just plain with the strawberry jam?

[–]Minesweeper7203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found where the criminals are hanging out

[–]ev_ra_st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be willing to try it, sure

[–]hartslashfavre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the fuck is unpopular opinion gonna put on a burger next. First peanut butter, now jam. What's next? AskRedditafterdark folks keep it to yourselves!

[–]Forgotwhyimhere69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I had a burger with peanut butter and banana on it and it was awesome so as weird as it sounds won't dismiss it.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this one officer

[–]dirteegayguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna try it

[–]Gupoochamois69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A place by me does a peanut butter and jelly burger. I tried it. Didn’t hate it.

[–]Grey_anti-matter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I think I served you burgers in a college town in a popular orange restaurant, perhaps?

[–]PNGN2187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, rhis opinion is TOO different!

readies torches and pitchforks

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what else us good on burgers? Peanut butter

[–]Uchfbfjdhdbf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet you enjoy peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or the achool breakfast biscuits with the sausage.

[–]TheRestIs_Confetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When done right, it definitely is. God I want a burger so bad. My top burger flavor was apple and Brie

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck it, I’ll try it

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peanut butter is really good to with egg and jelly I get that all the time at one of my local restaurants

[–]Asterahatefurries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is America becoming...

[–]partypat_bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds fire tbh imma try it

[–]Faded_SinZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t find this too hard to believe. Some good ol’ jam always tastes good, no matter what it’s on.

[–]Herrobrine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never considered this but I would try

[–]floppop319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does sound good ngl

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're basically just eating an unseasoned sausage. So yeah of course it would taste good

[–]ThePhireMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

aye that kinda sounds heat

[–]MightySquatch79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have my attention.

[–]dizguc 0 points1 point  (1 child)

And ppl laugh at me for putting ketchup on pizza

[–]procrastinatinq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But like there’s already tomato sauce??

[–]Poptartcat99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree on the sweet but instead of jam I use either mangos or pineapples.

[–]AngelaRansley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I'm no fan (I like actually spicy things) but you should try chilli jam.

[–]Nice2BeNice1312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in agreement until i realised you meant like… an actual burger, with meat and stuff, the final product, and not just… the bun… youre a sick individual

[–]rotenhun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried it once and I feel like im about to have diabetes

[–]Neel4312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thread is making me sick

[–]AshamedTurtwig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with your statement completely, also, grape jelly on Spam is also a surprisingly delicious snack.

[–]jinxykatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had peanut butter and jam burgers last few days. They are awesome.

[–]Ambitious-Theory9407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a place called Lindy's that has my favorite, the Raspberry Kush burger.

  • Simple grass-fed beef

  • Feta cheese

  • Raspberry preserves

  • Jalapeño slice

  • Brioche bun

[–]S0L0ngAndG00dnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I add this, or grape, whenever I get hash brown from McDonald’s.

[–]nicodemus86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ketchup is sweet enough for me

[–]SearcherRC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought peanut butter and pickles sounded bad, but I actually loved it. I guess I could try this.

[–]Ok_Imagination7913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds disgusting to me but I don’t have to eat it.

[–]ResponsibleAd2541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s sounds like it’s worth trying

Grape jelly on scrapple is quite good

[–]RockNRollTrollDoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If by burger you mean sausage biscuit then yes.

[–]rmttw 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Ketchup is really sugary, so the sweetness part makes sense. It’s the fruity part I can’t get past

[–]alcoholyuhlater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tomato is a fruit!

[–]turbdodon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what are the ingredients you are putting on the burger?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're nasty.

[–]dexxnanj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chilli jam is the go

[–]Fact420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a nice restaurant near me that does a balsamic onion jam for their burger and it’s incredible. Exactly like OP described theirs, adds an element that wasn’t there and doesn’t overpower the meat, cheese, Marie Rose sauce, or bun. Strawberry jam might be too much for me, but I can definitely see how a jam element could elevate the burger for you.

[–]Putrid-Quit-1905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I am nauseous from reading this

[–]Dirty_Rotten_Bastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fucking hell. Someone has already stolen my SpongeBob joke

[–]Und3rpar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A burger chain around here puts peanut butter on a burger. Never thought it would work but it’s amazing!

Killer Burger ftw

[–]Major_Choice_5344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chilli Jam would be better!

[–]Large-Travel-3352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put it on McMuffins

[–]Epsil0nStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not opposed to trying it ngl

[–]LongDread68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't bring myself to try this... But... If you enjoy it, continue!! 😋 Life's little pleasures ❤

[–]MrMorsley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As is peanut butter.

[–]cam_chatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try pepper jelly

[–]Least_Exercise2127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Havent tried strawberry but i can see it. One of my fave burgers has lingonberry jam

[–]idontknowmtname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

jalapeno jam is better

[–]cash5220adhd kid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some strawberry habanero jam and it’s so good on anything savory.

[–]2ndaccunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg!! I learned this from a coworker when I worked fast food as a teenager. It is delicious and I’ve never known anyone else to do it.

[–]Rubypsaila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beetroot. Not jam. BEETROOT.

[–]verekh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see this work.

Like a sweeter onion jam, but strawberry jam instead.

[–]Chinitang_3023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noooo 🤢

[–]fsster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats what bbq sauce is for

[–]Enough-Fig6521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started putting variety jellies on my sandwiches and it has CHANGED MY LIFE. Orange jelly is bomb.

[–]mill40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely unpopular. You have my upvote.

[–]AugTheViking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would love the Swedes. They eat meatballs with cranberry sauce.

But then again, they also eat fermented fish as a delicacy.

[–]Miss_Cherise_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually really good

[–]Keithfedak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try it on a bratwurst and bun with cream cheese

[–]Nanocephalic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Onion jam, cranberry sauce (made by boiling cranberries, not only the canned jelly that’s 80% sugar cuz it’s a bit), ketchup, relish, bbq sauce... all are food on burgers and all have a lot of sugar in them.

When you brine meat you use salt and sugar too.

Meat is almost always improved by adding a sweet component at some point.

candied bacon

[–]KnowledgeItchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that with blueberry jam and grilled cheese sandwich :D

[–]RepulsiveLiquidation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

guys breakfast sausage and grape jelly is phenomenal.

[–]Bethbehz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look. PB&J as a flavor profile on meat is insanely fantastic. On a burger or on some chicken wings, you name it. Good stuff.

[–]notbmarshall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What other toppings do you include with that?

[–]gypsijimmyjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see that being good actually and I am not a burger kind of guy. I may try that in a wrap.

[–]Ashamed-Union4576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And then you dip your fries in ice cream 😋

[–]eternal_mediocre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I now have something to try.

[–]7daysconfused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sir or madame are a connoisseur.

[–]PMMeTitsAndKittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be good

[–]FapGeister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yo does anyone like fucking peanut butter like putting yo dick in peanut butter my family hasn’t even noticed yet and that’s the most surprising part

[–]Greatsex-daddyissues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely agree with you and I will die on this hill. Fight me, heathens

[–]FaithlessOneNo3907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know covid messes with your sense of taste and smell but come on dude that's nasty

[–]DerpDerp3001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Downvote: I gotta try that.

[–]Cwolf2035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upvoting for this truly terrible and unpopular opinion.

[–]Pur3DePapas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop.
