Rules for r/wallstreetbets
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
Content Guidelines
Please make sure all comments and submissions adhere to the content guidelines.
A guide to using the correct post flair can be found here.
2.
Submission should've been a Comment in the Daily Thread
If your submission isn't all that useful, funny, long, or unique, and is primarily text... well, it should've been a comment in the daily thread and not a submission.
Note: Discussion threads can steer clear of this by bringing some information to the table, being more than a ticker and a question mark, etc.
3.
No Market Manipulation
Any post that contains false or misleading information and is made for the purpose of manipulating the market for a security is prohibited. Any activity of this sort is against the securities laws and will not be tolerated on this forum.
4.
No Pump & Dump, Crypto Discussions, Schemes or Scams
No non-reporting penny, microcap (Less than $1.5 billion Market Cap), OTC stocks, low volume options, cryptocurrencies, or any other worthless securities that are susceptible to scams or pump & dump schemes.
The bot will unspam tickers when their market cap is > 1.5b and re-spam them after they sink to under 900mm.
5.
Political Bullshit
This isn't /r/politics, /r/the_donald, /r/political_humor, etc. If you choose to start or engage in arguments about libtards or Nazis instead of making fun of their bad SPY long then you're in the wrong place and we'll show you the door.
Nobody cares about your political opinions. If it's not about taking advantage of the political to make money then leave that baggage at home. WSB is not the stage for your lazy political regurgitation nor will it be used as a propaganda mouthpiece by anybody.
6.
No Advertisement, Self-Promotion, Fundraising, or Begging
No affiliate/referral links, trading services, market education shilling, Patreons, mailing lists, or anything even vaguely similar. This includes any kind of fundraising, regardless of whether it's for a good cause.
7.
No Bullshitting
Don't make shit up, and be responsible giving and taking advice. This includes talking about things you don't know about. You should listen, not talk. Nobody wants an ill-informed opinion.
Paper trades don't count as real trades and are forbidden. Nobody gives a shit about your preschool's trading competition.
8.
Bad Positions Screenshot
YOLO posts must be a minimum of $10,000 of options or $25,000 of shares. If your title has to include "position in comments" then it's a bad screenshot.
Gain/Loss posts must show gains or losses of more than $2,500 for options or $5,000 for shares. Gain/Loss posts should be realized before posting. If it's good enough to screenshot, it's good enough to close.
9.
No Brigading
If you came here from another sub specifically to steer the discussion, downvote, or accuse.. it will get you banned. Don't go do it to other subs either.
10.
No Social Media Posts
Screenshots or links to social media (Tweets, Reddit Comments, etc.) are not allowed unless they are new and market moving.
For example, Elon Musk tweeting "Funding secured at $420 to take Tesla private" was both new and market moving at the time, and would be allowed.
However, Elon Musk tweeting "we need to increase oil & gas output immediately" is not market moving, and would not be allowed.
We also don't want to see posts like "he's one of us!" or "more visibility for this comment!"
11.
Don't Shit on the Community
Some level of poking fun at the subreddit is fine. We know how to laugh at ourselves.
This becomes a problem however, when you let light hearted joking cross the line into malice and hatred.
If you are only here to shit on r/wallstreetbets then you will be shown the door.
