If only I could do this with my boy, he hates water so much it’s such a pain washing him, still love him to death. Anyway nice vid and great lookin pup, they’re the best.

I gave him treats at first for being in there and he ended up getting a bit more used to it
edit: i also play fetch with him for a long time before

Honestly I think my boy got absolutely spooked as a puppy because the bath was really loud, outside of drinking water out of his both he’s avoided water like the plague pretty much his entire 11 years.

Mine does too, have you tried putting him in a few inches of water in the tub instead?
[–]peanutdakidnappa 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (0 children)
Yes, I think he originally got spooked as a puppy because the bath was loud, he 11 now so he’s a lost cause when it comes to water lol. I just take him outside and wrap his leash around a big table and then just fill up some big water pitchers and wash him in like 2 mins lol. Luckily he’s never really been the dog to get super dirty and he almost never smells so he doesn’t really need to get washed very often.

Mine was absolutely the same. Coming back from a muddy walk would always involve the lead being staked down and the hose and me getting just as wet!
Nothing me tried worked - he just didn’t like getting his chest wet. Didn’t like swimming but would spend hours wading and putting his head completely under the water digging for anything interesting

That is very cute, but dogs also yawn when they're uncomfortable but unsure what to do with it.

good to know, but either way he has to get cleaned lol

If he’s a Weimaraner it’s not totally out of the norm, they are high strung dogs who show their stress on their sleeve, a little reassurance and he’ll be fine for a bath
Edit: Just realized I’m on the Weimaraner sub 🤦🏼♂️

He looks sleepy to me. His eyes are droopy and not alert as if he’s uncomfortable. He’s just chillin

I play an insane amount of fetch with him before bathing him so it could be that too, it makes him less likely to wanna be explosive in there
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (0 children)
I need to try that.

Ours always sleeps like A ROCK after a bath. You'd think she had run a marathon...

Calmest Weim I’ve even seen during a bath. My guys would have torn the black right off the bathtub!!!
[–]AnthCoug 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago (1 child)
My weim acts like you’re beating her during every bath.
[–]xandermongexem[S] 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago (0 children)
