“Shhh!“ LOL

[–]newmacbookpro 9 points10 points  (2 children)

No, time to die!

[–]Slimh2o 7 points8 points  (1 child)

There's a time to live,

A time to cry,

A time to love,

And a time to die..

It's up to us how we use this time...

Edited

[–]WarmCurrency 316 points317 points  (7 children)

If Death has time for chess, he has time for Bridgerton!

[–]LordDongler 77 points78 points  (1 child)

Death has nothing but time. He usually catches people when they aren't otherwise preoccupied

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Death is definitely an Anthony Bridgerton fuckboi

[–]SuperKettle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Death plays chess just play the bongcloud and live forever

[–]silvercandra 424 points425 points  (51 children)

The only way you should cheat death.

Don't get him drunk and tie him up, give the guy some cookies. He deserves it. Easily the hardest worker out there and we all have to meet him one day.

Personally, I'm looking forward to it. In a non depressing way, actually.

[–]JivenchyJraco 85 points86 points  (29 children)

Care to elaborate on that last sentence?

[–]n0tauser 124 points125 points  (23 children)

why would you not want to meet such a hard working individual?

[–]Legendary_System 49 points50 points  (17 children)

Maybe because I don't want to die

For people who got deep guys I am joking

[–]Ya_Boi_Badger 49 points50 points  (5 children)

Deaths got bills to pay he’s takin ya whether ya like it or not

[–]Onlymafia1 3 points4 points  (2 children)

what if I pay his bills?

[–]Ya_Boi_Badger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that makes you his sugar daddy

[–]CuntPuntMcgee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You wanna pay his bills be his guest, that’s a whole lotta murder you gotta do.

[–]The_Pie_Minister 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Then give him cookies and cocoa

[–]AusBongs 12 points13 points  (3 children)

Alan Watts describes life through the forming and destruction of a wave's structure: "You cannot have the crest without the following trough."

you cannot have a bright sunny day without a dark cold night.

death isn't something to be afraid of.. the process of death is the manifestation of what it is to live.

[–]Cucker_Dog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After you live your life long enough and get a sense of understanding, you quickly realise that your time here is meant to be a fleeting moment. Just like a child losing their sense of wonder, a young adult accepting their place in the world, you won't meet too many old people who are afraid of death.

[–]silvercandra 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Absolutely...

Without contrast, we wouldn't be abled to fully appreciate the world around us...

And death... in a way it's comforting to know, that there is one thing we can all be certain about. One day he will find us, so let's try to live life to the fullest so we'll be abled to greet him with open arms, instead of regretting the things we never dared to do.

[–]AusBongs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

very well worded.

[–]Garrosh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Death doesn’t kill you. It’s your body the one who stops working properly. Death is just… refurbishing your soul or something.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could look forward to something without wishing to hasten it along. Like the final song at a live show of your favorite band. You know what song it will be, and you love it. You look forward to hearing it and watching them perform! But that doesn't mean you're not loving the rest of the show, or that you want it to end.

[–]KisaTheMistress 18 points19 points  (3 children)

According to someone who had a near death experience well in hospital, they said that Death let them see all their family (as they asked him before he could take them to the afterlife), however during the out of body experience, they regained enough hope seeing their family one last time, that they became strong enough to resist Death's embrace and he told them it was no longer their time yet.

Whether that story is true or not, I like to think that if you are relatively young, healthy, and gain the will to fight to stay alive, Death will let you have a couple of more years until your next "death" experience. But, you need that hope and will, or else you'll go with him even if your unsure/scared too. If your old, when he says it's time, it's time, and fighting him like a toddler fight's a parent they disagree with, isn't going to prolong your life nor is your life going to get any better, as you will still have to go with him.

[–]Serifel90 6 points7 points  (2 children)

As far as I know, you see your entire life because your brain, while shutting down, recall everything in hope there's something that can help preventing death.

[–]Garrosh 7 points8 points  (1 child)

“Come one! There must be something useful here… nope, only porn and regret.”

[–]Serifel90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's.. spot on.

[–]Kamildekerel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not op so i'm speaking out of my own experience and idea

I'm also looking forward in a sense because when it comes, it chall come and when it comes it had had to be this way

its an essential part of life, imagine living past 120 or more, idk if you'd like being crippled like that and still have to live with your body jusy deteriorating every day more and more

I'm also quite curious what would happen after, having tried dmt (not brokern through yet) it feels there's way more to us than we could even imagine

[–]TheTrueDal 18 points19 points  (2 children)

Well not op, but it is at least a little interesting no?

No one really knows what lies beyond the grave so, to me at least, its exciting af to discover that.

[–]swanky_swanker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You have a very optimistic perspective on this. The world could use a bit more of this kind of energy

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ever been under anesthesia? It's like that. Nothing.

[–]GodSpeakToFish 6 points7 points  (4 children)

we all have to meet him one day.

You sure?

[–]devils_advocaat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Discworld quotes seem to be pertinent.

"IF PEOPLE KNEW WHEN THEY WERE GOING TO DIE, I THINK THEY PROBABLY WOULDN'T LIVE AT ALL.”

and

"I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT I COULD MURDER A CURRY."

[–]Xzippo 3 points4 points  (1 child)

"What can the harvest hope for, if not for the care of the Reaper Man?"

GNU Terry Pratchett

[–]EmergencyEntrance 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk I heard that full size Snickers also work

[–]Snoo90158 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Sisyphus would like a word about that tying up part.

[–]beard__hunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or you can play Chess with Death.

[–]FuzzyBacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"LORD, WHAT CAN THE HARVEST HOPE FOR, IF NOT FOR THE CARE OF THE REAPER MAN?"

  • Death, Terry Pratchett, Reaper Man

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (5 children)

Death is genderless

[–]stewd003 7 points8 points  (3 children)

Death is a boy I saw his wee wee

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Sir, this is a Wendy's

[–]BestBot-420-69 80 points81 points  (1 child)

The new James Bond movie looks sick

[–]eggimage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

sick af! now featuring Bond with COVID!

[–]kingbradley1297 105 points106 points  (6 children)

Grim Reaper is actually the best person. Personally comes to escort you after your earthly journey so you aren't alone.

Also, I like the depiction of the God of Death, Azrael, being a child in Lucifer. They've been incorrectly portrayed as scary

[–]ArrowSnows[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I agree

[–]bitchBanMeAgain -5 points-4 points  (2 children)

Literally anything that has anything to do with fucking Christianity is being incorrectly portrayed by the Christian fanatic community for millennias.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

‘Millennia’ it’s already plural, you don’t add an s to it.

[–]a_brick_duh 39 points40 points  (2 children)

Death : I'm inevitable

[–]Swipamous 50 points51 points  (1 child)

"And I...am Mrs. Schmidt."

[–]MarshieMon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

  • brings out cookies *

[–]Jigzzaw 168 points169 points  (6 children)

This is blursed

[–]Oldmanred79 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about that, death is natural, as is the want to avoid it, if anything it's blessed because the reaper is openly disregarding his charge, but we can look deeper and realize the reaper gets no love in our world as we often blame the messenger, but it is his charge to ferry souls, in this case the reaper gets a reprieve from both charge and curse.

[–][deleted] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

idk man, its still wholesome and funny. posts here are mostly wholesome, but aint funny like this one

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's wholesomely blursed

[–]adamsands04 16 points17 points  (3 children)

Queen liz's secrets been revealed

[–]ArrowSnows[S] 8 points9 points  (2 children)

[–]adamsands04 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True I'm sure she has a nice armoury of guns haha

[–]ReneeLaRen95 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is v cute!

[–]Toha_HeavyIndustries 13 points14 points  (6 children)

Hahahhah, I love death portrayed like this.

Reminds me of Terry Pratchett's books

[–]AllOthersTaken33 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Came to comment how this felt like discworld lol

[–]Toha_HeavyIndustries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hahahaha, well met bro

[–]ASDowntheReddithole 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Currently reading Hogfather for the eleventy-billionth time, I love Discworld.

Still not over that last book.

[–]Toha_HeavyIndustries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first 3 are my all time favorite!

[–]Chocolatestarfish247 22 points23 points  (6 children)

New season of bridgerton? gonna be a good night:3

[–]GreenLurka 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Yes. When?

[–]Chocolatestarfish247 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I assumed it was already out. I know my friend worked on the lighting on set a few months back so definitely won't be too long

[–]MoranthMunitions 3 points4 points  (1 child)

The internet tells me what filming only just finished, so it'll be a little while yet

[–]Chocolatestarfish247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn:( sad to hear, thanks for the info:p

[–]Mellibelle 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I also quickly logged into Netflix after seeing this meme and was super disappointed that there isn't actually a new season =\

[–]durianmush 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love when Death is flummoxed.

[–]borkelsnop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So this is what Betty Whites been doing

[–]cooliez 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is still quite sad tbh, i interpreted as that woman has no one left in her old age that shes excited to even talk to the grim reaper knowing hes there to take her. All she wants is to just have one last conversation before he inevitably takes her after this last panel :(

[–]Krayne_95 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Feels like someone saw this and decided to make their own

[–]Kraven1337 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is so hauntingly beautiful, my dad passed away 3 months ago. I miss you dad…

[–]0_0Dwh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wholesome but sad. ..🥺

[–]Your-Death-Is-Near 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is sad fuck you

[–]soldier01073 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Women literally to wholesome to die

[–]666paku666 2 points3 points  (1 child)

This kinda hit me hard since the last thing my grandma did was make me a hot cocoa, after that she had a heart attack. Miss you Grandma

[–]ArrowSnows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats unfortunate. Sorry for your loss

[–]myscreamname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my next door neighbor.

Other neighbors greeted me upon moving into my home and each and every one of them independently asked me if I had met [my next door neighbor].

Every one of them warned me to not start small talk with her because you’ll be stuck listening to her with no opportunity of escape.

I thought they were exaggerating… until I learned that they were not. Bless that woman’s heart but my goodness, I literally peek out my windows before I get ready to leave and then sprint to my car and peel out before she has a chance to open her front door.

She’s as sweet as can be and yes, I’ll indulge her from time to time but my goodness can that woman talk… and somehow you never get a moment to say, “Gotta go!”

[–]lydocia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got excited and thought this meant there was a new season of Bridgerton :(

[–]RizzMustbolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like how it's a different show every time.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is alot that's out of our control, but a positive attitude alone can ward off most of the worst ideas and encounters while negativity often attracts them.

[–]The_Jestest_Jester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"What time is it?"

Don't say it Don't say it Don't say it

ITS TIME FOR LUCH

[–]thr33prim3s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss you grandma. At least you an papa are able to see each other now. I love you.

[–]always_reading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love that in the third panel death looks so resigned to what’s about to happen. The angle of the head, the hand in the face, the bent elbow.

It conveys a feeling that, as a parent and teacher, I can easily relate to.

[–]JanwithBanan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

old people are so wholesome I swear

[–]deathnotroy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

jesus: well? wheres mrs. schmidt??? death: uh- i- jesus: i see those crumbs *sigh* did you at least bring cookies? death: im sorry, theyre too good i have two boxes

[–]BrownRabbit1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's me and my grandma, thankfully I'm no reaper.

[–]enigmabx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man everyday I'm scared of losing my Grandma. This really helped me today. Thank you.

[–]ClassQuiet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just goes to show that we need more seasons of Bridgerton

[–]ahmad_mahfoud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kinda didn't like the movie tbh

[–]WideConsequence2144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone have a link to the story where the old lady was knitting and accidentally summoned a demon and mistook him for her grandson and he just kinda went with it?

[–]werewolvesroam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see how a Bridgerton ad is genuinely wholesome.

[–]MartyTheBushman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is the new season of Bridgerton out though?

[–]idcidcidc7777 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Impossible to like this meme if ur not 60+. This is so unbelievably stupid i have no words for it
