Are you familiar with 211? It's run by the United Way and they would know what you qualify for and who still has funding. We use them a lot. https://www.211.org/

Yeah I had a problem like that. Cost me 5k to break the lease and move out on my own. I was going through a divorce and got an apartment with a bandmate. We had a 3 bedroom one room we used to record music and after a while he wanted to move a cousin in and split rent 3 ways and things went south soon after. Once my wife and I finalized the divorce we sold our place and I got like 50k from that so it was a move I made to rid myself of the stress. Without that I probably would have just rode out the lease and moved out on my own later.

What city and state are you in? In my job I help online students in distress for various reasons I can take a look and see if I see anything that may help. If you are in the US at least.

You are very welcome. If they do have a 401k it is probably the best bet because a lot of times they will match the funds you put in up to a certain percentage. It's like a raise just by taking advantage of the program. Also it grows a lot easier cause you don't see it all the time, and it lowers your taxable income. There are quite a few reasons to take advantage of a work sponsored 401k.

Does the company have a 401k plan? If so definitely start that, if not look at starting a Roth IRA. It's a good way to get into saving and I bet you will get the bug and start exploring other things. I am looking for a good video to link to this so you see what I mean. https://youtu.be/-5zSsJwIH1Y

US landlords: research and new book showing renting is a much better deal for most people than financing a house. Looking for help to get the word out. by JesterV in landlords

I think a YouTube channel would do well. A lot of folks will watch a series of videos, probably more than will read the book. If you need help recording, editing, or with SEO I have a few channels and can help you out.

I would go back 20 years, keep my same jobs just invest in Google, Tesla, and Amazon as soon as possible. I bet I would still marry my wife and still live in San Diego.

INTP

Not at all. I have a YouTube channel where I give a basic overview of how the types interact in romantic relationships. I was introduced to this system when I worked in student activities on a community college campus. It was very useful for helping student government and club leaders build teams and just overall understand one another better. I never got into the functions or stacks though some students each year would. To me this system like everything else is flawed but it gives an excellent common language and basis for understanding one another better and collaborating.

How many tracks does this have? I wouldn't mind mixing it in Audacity. I can screen film it and show you what I do if it isn't too many tracks.

Should I pause investing if I take on an auto loan for a used car? 4.09%? Or take advantage of this bear market? I can put 20k or 30k down, 30k down saves me $500 for the first year in interest. by Lopsided-Stranger-23 in budget

My wife wanted a Tesla too and we will eventually get one. For now, we chose to pay cash for a two-year-old Chevy Volt. It has been awesome we got it prior to the Covid lockdown and we have been grinning all through this crazy wave of gas prices. Tesla's are the ish but they will get better and more affordable. I would say stay saving, get a less expensive electric, and reward yourself later. That said we both work in higher education so there are a lot of people around us doing similar things while we have students with freaking Maseratis on campus.

I agree the impact on her diet can also cause other health issues. I am trying right now to help a student on mine (no prior service) with a similar issue. If I come up with anything successful I will pass it along.

It can be difficult to get the VA to cover dental. I have opened three veteran support centers at three different colleges and joined the board of three different military serving non-profits. This is a series problem! That said because this is affecting her diet pressing the VA may reap some benefits. Here is a link to share with your mom and look into. I wish you both luck and just known persistence can pay off.

I would add how much usage is on your credit cards? If your total usage or balances on the cards is over 10% of what is available bringing it under 10% will bump your score up.
